I absolutely love Big Spoon Roasters’ nut butters. I can’t begin to pick a favorite! And I especially appreciate the attention to quality. I never feel guilty having a snack when I’m eating Big Spoon’s nut butters and bars. Love them all!

I am a huge fan of Big Spoon Roasters! And not only for their excellent nut butters and bars, and I can’t leave out the wag butter too! Our whole household is nutty about them! (Groan!) It’s rare to find a company who so deeply lives out their values in their daily decisions. I have followed them since pretty much Day One, and as a fellow food entrepreneur, I know how tough it can be to make sacrifices in the short term to protect your supply chain quality and your belief system while trying your hardest to put a smile on another’s face through your creations. Big Spoon navigates this with their love of humanity front and center. I think my personal favorite is Pistachio, although I do miss that Cowgirl Cookie! 😍

Big Spoon nut butters are delicious!! They can be a tad pricey, but their flavor combinations are innovative, fun, and just plain tasty! They use clean ingredients, too, and I'm happy I can support a great small business!

My friend and I came by for a nut butter tasting event. My favorites include the carrot cake, pistachio, and wag butter for dogs. They are a bit pricy at $15 or so each, so this tasting event was much appreciated. I realized the carrot cake almond and walnut butter was my favorite. A nice dollop of this on oatmeal is fantastic. It is more of a warehouse supplier than a store, but you can order from them online and pick up their products from the store/warehouse directly. I hope they have more events like this in the future!

On my last visit to the new local farmers market to get my Colorado caramels I noticed this almond butter and thought I'd give it a try. I love all things almond, and once again I scored a super treat and to make it sweeter, it comes from Hillsborough, NC. I picked the one with Heirloom Mission Almonds, Raw Organic Wildflower Honey, Jacobsen Sea Salt and I'm loving it! So now it's caramel and almond butter runs, until I discover something else :-) The story goes back to its founder, nearly 25 years ago, in Africa. While in the Peace Corps he discovered roasted peanuts with spices that set him on a path, once back home, to a ever expanding line of butters that are right up my alley. Non GMO, gluten, soy, and palm free with bee friendly almonds, oh yeah. There's a super variety like Chocolate Sea Salt Almond Butter, Fiji Ginger Almond Butter, Vanilla Caramel Almond & Cashew Butter, Maple Cinnamon Peanut and Pecan Butter, and more. Some include chai spices, cocoa nibs, crystallized ginger, freshly toasted coconut, and citrus into nut butter recipes. I've got to go on a shopping spree to try them all :-) You can get some of their products on Amazon or order from their website. In full disclosure, we know the owners and provided them with a small loan during startup. They just moved to a large production facility in Hillsborough and we attended their official grand opening. We are fans of their nut butters and have even given it as gifts. Our favorites are the chai nut butter and the fiji ginger nut butter, although almost everything we've tried there is good. Yes, they are more expensive than mass-produced nut butters but we think they are worth it. I'm not sure if they offer tours, but they do occasionally have open houses at the facility where you can purchase their products. They also have energy bars and branded merch.

I received a variety pack as a gift from a colleague for our annual gift exchange. We all work remotely in major metros across the country, so the annual gift exchange is a great way for us to gift locally made goods from our cities. I was a lucky to get this lovely and delicious gift from Big Spoon Roasters. To my surprise, they don't already have a Yelp page. Likely, because it appears that they are strictly an online retailer. They have a great story and seem to be very philanthropic and eco conscious as well. So, not only is their mission respectable but they really do make delicious nut butters! My variety pack came with Chai Spice, Hot Mamba (pb, chiles, sea salt), regular PB with wildflower honey and sea salt and Peanut Pecan with wildflower honey and sea salt. All four of the flavors are wonderful! They are all slightly crunchy and very easy to spread. I love that Big Spoon sources from sustainable partners and seeks out ethical farmers across the globe that align with their mission. They make a bunch of other goods ranging from bars to jams and even dog butters and treats! This is is great item to gift any time of year and I am glad they are now on my radar.

Doling out meds for my fur babies is so much easier with Big Spoon's Wag butter. I keep mine in the fridge and it makes the best pill pocket for hiding their meds. A must have for any fur parent who has trouble giving their dogs pills.
