With a vibrant vibe and delicious Mexican street food, this funky spot near Wrigley is perfect for tacos, generous guac, and killer margaritas.
"Famous for its tacos and vibrant atmosphere, a must-visit for taco lovers." - Wendy Altschuler
"All the things we like most about the Big Star in Wicker Park—the huge patio, solid tacos, and fun atmosphere—are in full effect at the Wrigleyville location. But unlike the original, this version is twice the size and very family-friendly. Just check the Cubs schedule before heading here with tired and hungry kids, because it’s right across from the stadium and gets incredibly busy on game day." - adrian kane, nick allen
"Big Star is another restaurant that’s right across from the stadium, on the same block as the Hotel Zachary. And like the location in Wicker Park, this spot has a huge patio, solid tacos, and a fun atmosphere. This version is twice the size of the original, though, and full of the Wrigleyville crowd. Meaning you’ll see more families, baby strollers, and people in Cubs gear. The menu is the same as Wicker Park’s, other than the addition of the delicious “hot chips,” a.k.a. nachos where the chips are freshly fried and lightly coated with salsa. This is a good place to hang outside for margaritas and tacos anytime - with or without a game going on." - sam faye, adrian kane
"Though the tacos at Wicker Park’s Big Star are just fine, sharing a pitcher of margaritas with friends on their patio is an iconic Chicago summertime activity. The margaritas here are simple: there are only three flavors (classic, mango, and strawberry), they’re ordered frozen or on the rocks, and you can get them spicy or with mezcal. They're pleasantly boozy, and are perfect for staying cool when it’s so hot that the act of existing makes you sweat." - john ringor, veda kilaru
"The Wrigleyville location of Big Star is very similar to the one in Wicker Park, but it has two floors and is twice the size. It also has a very important menu addition in the form of “hot chips” (a.k.a. nachos). This Big Star does happen to be right across from the stadium, but conveniently, when you come here in the winter, you don’t have to worry about checking the Cubs schedule. So bring a big group, and make sure you get enough hot chips for everyone." - josh barnett, adrian kane
