Tacos, whiskey, margaritas, and honky-tonk tunes

"Famous for its tacos and vibrant atmosphere, a must-visit for taco lovers." - Wendy Altschuler
"Across from Wrigley Field and next to the Hotel Zachary, the Wrigleyville location of Big Star is throwing a pop-up called the Holiday Honky Tonk. Dust off your best rhinestone cowboy hat, as this part is inspired by Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” with fun lighting, a tree decorated with giant pink cowboy hats, and more. The party runs through January 2 and they’ve taken the opportunity to debut new food specials like brisket nachos and a chili walking taco. Reservations are available via OpenTable." - Eater Staff

"All the things we like most about the Big Star in Wicker Park—the huge patio, solid tacos, and fun atmosphere—are in full effect at the Wrigleyville location. But unlike the original, this version is twice the size and very family-friendly. Just check the Cubs schedule before heading here with tired and hungry kids, because it’s right across from the stadium and gets incredibly busy on game day." - adrian kane, nick allen
"Big Star is another restaurant that’s right across from the stadium, on the same block as the Hotel Zachary. And like the location in Wicker Park, this spot has a huge patio, solid tacos, and a fun atmosphere. This version is twice the size of the original, though, and full of the Wrigleyville crowd. Meaning you’ll see more families, baby strollers, and people in Cubs gear. The menu is the same as Wicker Park’s, other than the addition of the delicious “hot chips,” a.k.a. nachos where the chips are freshly fried and lightly coated with salsa. This is a good place to hang outside for margaritas and tacos anytime - with or without a game going on." - sam faye, adrian kane
"Though the tacos at Wicker Park’s Big Star are just fine, sharing a pitcher of margaritas with friends on their patio is an iconic Chicago summertime activity. The margaritas here are simple: there are only three flavors (classic, mango, and strawberry), they’re ordered frozen or on the rocks, and you can get them spicy or with mezcal. They're pleasantly boozy, and are perfect for staying cool when it’s so hot that the act of existing makes you sweat." - john ringor, veda kilaru
