Big Whiskey's American Restaurant & Bar Republic Rd

Very good food!! The pasta very high quality, pretzels and beer cheese was awesome, fried pickles were wonderful especially with the home made ranch. First time eating here and I am very impressed, would definitely come again and will be recommending!

I almost wish I could put this Big Whiskey's location at 4 stars, but I can't...it has to be a 5. The service my group got for the Chiefs game was outstanding, even being in Springfield. The food is really good. And as a Chiefs fan, the atmosphere was great! Big Whiskey's on Republic Road is definitely worth a visit.

I could not have had a better experience. I had planned my mother in laws surprise retirement party here and it was a huge success full of memories to last. I called two weeks ahead for a party of 10 and worked with Jordan, he was every bit of helpful, informative, and booked us for a private room. Fast forward to the party, I called ahead to ask about decorations and Jay had let me come in earlier to decorate and put things up to prepare. The staff was so friendly, they helped me set up decorations and made sure I had everything I needed in time before everyone showed up. Olivia was our server, she was incredible! She was energetic, fun, and personable with everyone. She did great with our orders and drinks, Olivia really made everything go seamlessly. As the night ended, Jay checked in making sure everyone had a good time and all was well. Over all, I couldn’t be happier with how things went and service we had. I definitely will be planning more here.

Tracy M is one of the best servers I’ve ever had! I came in and sat down, and she greeted our table almost immediately! She brought our drinks out fast, and our food faster! She was also incredibly kind, and was fun to chat with while she was at our table. Best server I’ve ever had in a restaurant by far! I would love to come again !

What great experience! Abbie was the server and did a great job helping us have a great evening. Unfortunately I got a rather fatty steak and she brought over the manager Jay and they knocked out a very tender replacement. Super efficient and great smiles! Thanx for a great meal tonight!!!!

Normally we go to the big whiskeys in republic but today we just happend to be near this one so we decided to try it and it did not dissapoint! Our server Savannah wad amazing she brought us plenty of refills on water and even mentioned the rewards program that big whiskeys had this is the first we've heard about it. We got the bacon cheddar ranch burger and it was great cooked perfectly. Will definitely be coming back to this location

Absolutely incredible service from our server Alexa! She had a great attitude, very funny, and was very knowledgeable about the menu and local area! The food was pretty good, very reasonable and came out hot and fresh. Will definitely come back here again next time we are in the area, and we hope to be served by Alexa again!

There were 8 of us, and we got seated quickly. Waitress got drunk orders quickly, and then everything came to a stand still. Drinks took about 20 minutes to get , and our orders were taken. About an hour later, we got our food and several items you could tell had been seeing under a heat lamp. The place wasn't very busy, so I'm not sure what the hold up was. After eating, it was another 30 minutes to get our check. Our waitress disappeared and only showed up once to refill drinks.

Our 16 year old son's baseball team is in town for a tournament. Without advanced notice, we called Big Whiskey's to see if they could accommodate our large group (30+ hungry teenage boys and their thirsty parents). Despite an almost full restaurant, the manager and staff encouraged us to bring our group. Luckily, their private room was open and it was perfect! We enjoyed a variety of appetizers, drinks, and dinners. The food was good and the service was incredible. They even split our checks, which I'm sure is no server's favorite thing to do. After a double-header in the sun, some food, rest, and fellowship was exactly what our team needed. Thank you, Big Whiskey's for accommodating our group! Y'all did a fantastic job!

The food is good and consistent. You can't get a better baked potato anywhere. The staff is fantastic, especially the bartenders. This is my go-to when I'm in the area for a nice, relaxed environment, good food, and excellent service.

We went here after trying several other places that had long waits to get a bite to eat. We were able to get seated quickly here and although not a long line waiting to get in. there were definitely a decent amount of guests. The food was serviceable, but nothing spectacular. Basic American chain fare. Staff was friendly and fairly attentive. It was fine for a last resort choice but would likely look for something different on the next trip through the area.

Me and two friends came for a birthday last night and had an amazing server (Kayla who definitely received 5 stars in my book) who provided immaculate service the whole night. Around halfway through our evening a storm hit and power was lost to the building to which we were told the meals were on the house and sent home by the manager on duty. We tipped our server nicely and left quickly to get home safe. The next morning at 9:00 AM the manager contacted me through a friend and told us we needed to come back in and pay our bill. I would have been ok with this had it not been communicated the bill was on the house the night prior. This was extremely unprofessional as when I confronted her she said not only was it already voided but she was needing to re-ring everything a second time to charge us. She also communicated she only did it because she knew how to get into contact with my friend and was not doing it for any other customers from that night. When I questioned the reasoning she instantly rolled her eyes and started an attitude with me, refusing to acknowledge my existence any other way. Never have I heard of a restaurant acting this way and I will not be returning to this location anytime in the future.

The sliders were awful. I have had their burger and it was good. The slider patties are premade and very inferior meat.

Food was good and the service was good. Place was clean. Like that they show the football games.

My Uber delivery called me after I paid for expedited delivery to say he was waiting, the food arrived cold, the burger dry and the fries cold. This is the last time we will patronize Big Flop.

We were able to sit in the patio with our dog, staff was super nice, it's my dad's birthday, waiter found this leaf and gave it to him. Very sweet and kind gesture. I had the cauliflower wings with jerk sauce, very good

My friends and I enjoy going to the Big Whiskey's downtown but we came here once and it was different. I ordered the same burger I usually get from the other location and it came out super dry. My friend got the sliders and said the same thing. The other appetizers were good but the fried pickles were literally way too salty. The service was great which is why they get 3 stars. Hopefully the food improves and we will be back.

Just left here with a group of 12...after spending over 2.5 hours waiting for drinks and food that was served cold. We sat outside, and there were tons of flies, our server told us they didn't have ranch dressing, he kept making excuses, and the restaurant refused to take any accountability blaming the kitchen, the server, and technology for why they couldn't get their act together. I never do this, but no one at this restaurant tried to do anything to make our experience better. Nothing but lame apologies, and the mandatory 18% gratuity that of course they added since we were a party of 8+.

While the service was great and the place was super clean... it was just a 3 star sports bar. Had a ton of wings with a variety of sauces. Not a bad place, but how many sports bar and grills are getting 5 star reviews? For the record, I will continue happily going back.

The appetizers and vegetables were great . My steak was also perfectly cooked. However, my steak and my wife's chicken Alfredo were bland. There was absolutely no seasoning on either of our main dishes. It was quite a let down after the great spin dip we got as an appetizer.

We decided to stop in finally after driving by a few dozen times, and hearing about how awesome their wings were. The place was packed which it always seems to be, very noisy as well. The waitstaff were very prompt, and friendly even though they were slammed. We were seated right away, and our server got our drinks out right away, seriously some of the best service in town for as packed as they were. We decided on the wings, after some deliberation between those, and a burger. We ordered an 18 piece bone in, flavors Teriyaki, Garlic Parm, and a Honey Whiskey. They came out fresh, hot, and big!!! They were cooked to perfection, crisp and juicy. I would give the chicken itself "5" star's. But here's why they get 4 star's, the sauce was some of the worst I ever had, watery and bland! I would give their sauce "2 or 3" star's. The Garlic tasted non-existent, I seriously thought I had just bitten into a plain wing. I actually had them bring out more sauce to put on it. The Teriyaki had a strange spoiled after taste to it, and the Honey Whiskey was a bit bland, definitely less flavor than my Sam Adam's which was overpowering the wings. The blue cheese was a bit heavy on the mayo as well. I will go back to try a burger, but I won't get the wings again, which saddens me because I'm a Wing nut!

I usually just always order the wings from there because its the only food entree that taste good. They have overprice mix cocktails that aren't good at all. Their other entrees is either burnt or bland. so if u likes buffalo wings, order Only that and nothing else.

I placed a curbside pickup order at 6:50pm on 3/22/23 for 12 wings. Called at 7pm to let them know I was there and they said they were still making it. I had waited there UNTIL 7:40pm and eventually got so pissed that I had just left and got food somewhere else. I was told it would take 15-20 minutes for my order to be ready when I initially called at 6:50pm. 50 MINUTES later, no food and no update. Even AFTER I left, I figured they would give me a call when they noticed my food had been sitting there for a while but nope. I don't even think my food was made at all. I called back next day asking for a refund and the lady told me the GM would give me a call in 2 days as she did not know how to process the refund and that was the soonest time the GM would be in. Roll around to Thursday and the GM never gave me a call. I even emailed their corporate office online and still no one reached out. Customer service was abysmal and now I'm stuck playing phone tag with the bank trying to get this charged back. How long does it take to make 12 wings? Why did I never get a call even AFTER I left and they know my food has just been sitting there? Why is no one reaching out about this situation?

We have ate here a couple times. It is just like a more upscale Applebee's. They have a little better food, but it's still a chain. There are way better local places to go in Springfield. Sometimes you need a Big Whiskey fix and I get it.

We went to the new location of Big Whiskey's on the Southside of town. Not bad, but not fantastic. The server couldn't name off the 16 tap beers, and, when asked what microbrews they had she didn't know what a microbrew was! LOL! Six of us shared the Big Whiskey Nachos and Loaded Potato Skins, and then I had the Lemon Pepper Chicken ($9.99 for chicken breast, rice pilaf and a steamed veggie medley), another couple shared a Big W Club (they loved it) and another couple shared an All American Burger (good). My chicken was over salted, and a little dry, but okay. They do have a great HH (code for Happy Hour), 4:00-6:00pm Monday - Friday with 1/2 off all appetizers and some drinks too.

Nice wing flavor selection. The menu changes all the time! So your favorite plate could be gone next time you come back. The happy hours are from 4-6 pm; $5 dollar appetizer and half price (some)drink, $2 domestic draft. The services was hit and miss sometime the server was overly nice, sometime the service was so so. There were tons of TVs so you can catch your game anytime! Don't forget 50 cent wings on Sunday.

Twenty of my family and friends had brunch on The Porch at BB-64 Cafe this morning. What a fantastic experience!!! Rohn and staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was so tempting most of us wanted to order multiple items, and did. My family and I are planning another trip to Norfolk, just so we can eat there again. Highly recommended!!! Judy L.

First time at Big Whiskey's and the first thing I noticed was how quickly we were seated at 6:30pm on a Friday evening. There was no wait at all. We walked in and got seated immediately. Obviously I loved that. Second thing I noticed was how loud it was. I honestly can't say what the noise was, I guess just people talking at the bar maybe? But it was pretty loud which is my least favorite thing about sports bars anyway. Third thing I noticed was how there were like 10 tvs all within view of my table. I find tvs in restaurants mostly annoying but again, sports bar. I knew what I was getting into. So. The food. I ordered a buffalo ranch chicken sandwich with mashed potatoes instead of fries. The sandwich was perfect. The kaiser bun was incredibly tasty. The buffalo sauce was mild and didn't burn my mouth off which is hard to come by. The potatoes were meh (I'm picky about mashed potatoes, not sure why I bother). My husband got the red white and blue burger with fries and thought the burger needed a sauce of some kind and the fries were overseasoned. The portions are American small but not so small to be European-sized. I had room for dessert so I got the fried cheesecake which was almost perfect honestly but I can't say what would've made it better. Maybe a chocolate sauce instead of caramel? Who knows. Not I. I'll definitely be going back. The menu is huge and there are a million items I'm dying to try.

We called ahead and asked them to put on our football game. Not only did they do that, they reserved us a table! The food was delicious! Highly recommend the Buffalo chicken wontons. Good deals on beers and incredibly friendly service. Leah our waitress was so nice and accommodating, she was on top of her game and that is so hard to come by these days. We love restaurants where the manager is involved and Erin was so welcoming and made us want to come here for every football Sunday. Thanks team, keep up the amazing work.

Great selection of draft beers. Obviously the name says I it all including the coveted J Walker Blue label at a fair price. A decent menu for a bar/grill. Love the potsticker appetizers. The service is always solid. It can get a little loud during game or party hour. The price of being hip!

The service was excellent. I ordered 12 chicken wings, 1/2 garlic parmesan and 1/2 teriyaki. The wings were good but not great. My wife ordered a steak with vegetables and she said it was delicious.

I wanted to like Big Whiskey's, I really did. Service is consistently a 4-5 star experience, but the food has been consistently a 1 or 2 star experience. I went there for lunch today, to try and give them another shot, and unfortunately, they let me down again. My Lady Friend got the Chicken Spin Dip Wrapper and it was amazingly bad. If you enjoy eating a bowl of room temperature queso wrapped in a tortilla, then you would be a fan. I had the Ahi Tuna and was equally unsettled. I don't know about you, but when a dish claims it's "pan seared" I assume that's right before I eat it. Not the day before, which is when I assume my fish was cooked. Also green beans and rice pilaf are also best when hot... not stone cold like mine were today. So, I guess what I'm saying is... If you're a fan of cold food that will leave your tummy turning, delivered by a decent server who is so nice you won't want to send the food back, then enjoy your gelatinous meal!

Went with my family on a Saturday to get some dinner everything was great. The waiter did an awesome job answering questions and he also helped me find the burger I wanted to order. We had mozzarella sticks, small order of wings, burgers, turkey club, and a sugar bear (alcoholic beverage). The fries are delicious!!!! My husband was happy because there were tons of Tv's with games on all around him. All and all great drinks and good, this will be a spot we visit again and again.

Had a wonderful waitress Faye who made our $130 ticket worth a 9 dollar tip. Very abrupt, uninvolved and just horrible service. We were celebrating a friends birthday and the least to say that it wasn't happy at all. Aside from that, brought the wrong drink to our friend, and left us waiting for a good while on our ticket that we almost contemplated a dine and dash

Decided to try Big Whiskey's for the first time tonight, and I was not disappointed. Our waitress, Marisa R. was TOP-NOTCH. She recommended the buffalo chicken wrap and it was fantastic! Our drinks were never empty as she made sure to keep them topped up every chance she got, and when I told her how good I thought the pickles were she even offered to grab me extra! Overall, great experience as both the food and service were fantastic. We will for sure be back!

The reason for the five stars is because of Aaron...the manager ...we are regulars at this particular location...we had a party of 6...good food ...no complaints in the past ...we had problems with our orders this particular evening we dined...spoke to Aaron the manager and he went above and beyond to take care of the situation in a very professional manner...he is a HUGE asset to Big Whiskeys

My wife and I dined with friends. Wait staff was friendly. Appetizers were good. Our entrees were very good. Pecan pie was excellent

Horrible food, nothing more than frozen and processed crap. Service was great but that was the only good thing about this place. This chain just came to our hometown, Overland Park, and I predict they will not successfully compete with this quality of food.

Poor service, mediocre food, lacking in organization. We came with a relatively large group. The servers were consistently forgetting to check on us and it took over 30 minutes just to get our check after we asked. Also, the worst salsa I have ever eaten.

An average American Sports bar with plenty of tvs at every angle. They had a decent variety of wing flavors which I tried 3 of from around my table. I really liked the garlic parmesan as an alternative to the classics. I had the Big Whiskey BBQ burger myself. Good burger. Nothing too crazy. Liked the bun.

Big Whiskey's is ok. They have a decent selection of beer on tap, the service is usually pretty good, but the food is only ok. I love fried pickles, and will order them any chance I get. So I was quick to add them with my orink order as soon as our server appeared. When the pickles arrived they looked like they were slathered in oil, which means to me that they didn't let them drain before dropping them in the bowl, or they were allowed to sit in the fryer too long. The breading didn't stick to the pickles very well either. They tasted fine. I also had the Philly Cheesesteak. It's pretty unremarkable. I wish I would have tried a burger instead. I will say that this is a good place to watch any televised sporting event. There are plenty of TV's and I had no problem getting the screen closest to me switched over to the event I was interested in. I would go back, as the beer selection is decent enough, but I might recommend some other establishment if the plan includes eating a meal.

The menu descriptions were not correct and the food was bland. I got a burger that had hardly any flavor, I'd honestly rather eat a burger from a fast food joint.

We love the Nixa location, but the service isn't at all the same. We walked in and three different people couldn't figure out where to seat two adults and a toddler (high chair) inside at 5:45, so they took us outside. No one brought us a high chair. The patio is apparently a smoking area, so we sat in smoke (with our daughter!) the whole time. The server had several tables to himself and was obviously inundated. Food was mediocre.

Holy cow this was an awful experience! Husband ordered rib eye steak medium well. I do not consider charcoal covered burned meat medium anything. It's a sin to cover steak with ketchup but that was the only way he could eat it. Seasoned fries were tasteless. Steamed broccoli was good. I chose fish and chips. Seasoned fries were very bland even with the so-called seasoning on the outside. Fish pieces were so soaked in oil they dripped when I bit into them. Coleslaw was horrid! Our server was very nice and personable and good at his job.

Usually not one for making negative comments but very frustrated about our experience at big whiskey on republic road in Springfield today. We are long time patrons of this restaurant. We have gone to this restaurant nearly weekly for five years. We had a server for years, Nick, who was amazing and always took the best care of us. Nick is no longer with Big Whiskey. Since our service at Big Whiskey as been sub par at best. We love the food, drinks and atmosphere at BW so continued to be loyal customers. That said, today we went into the restaurant and was greeted by a friendly hostess. The restaurant was no busy and she sat us in the middle of the room. We are clearly visible. There is no one sat near us. We waited for service for about 5 minutes, before a woman wondered in lost. No one sat this lady. She sat at the table in front of us. We continued to wait for someone to even acknowledge us. Servers were helping the couple tables on the outer perimeter of the restaurant. People continued to run by us and the lost lady in front of us without so much as a word. Even a "Hello" would have been nice. Nothing. Another 10 mins go by, and a server comes out and helps our lost lady in front of us. Ok wonderful finally maybe we can get something to drink. After taking the ladies drink order she walked away from the bar, right past us and to a table behind us. Couldn't even flag her down! We had decided to leave, when I caught the eye of another server. I told her I am sorry, we have been sitting here for some time with no service. She said oh no, I will get her. She runs to the back. We thought ok we are good now. No such luck! She walked back out of the kitchen and nothing. No one came to our table. No service! Seriously!!! Finally we gave up. We stood up to leave and I spotted a manager walking out of the kitchen. I flagged him over. Told him the situation, expecting a "I am sorry, let me make this right. What did you want to drink. I will have someone here in second." No, instead it was well did you get sat by a hostess or did you just sit yourself? What?!?! No! We have spent a lot of time and ALOT of money in this establishment. We know the drill. We told him Yes we did get seated by a hostess and we are leaving! (FYI the woman who seated herself was served!) We left so frustrated and offended. Totally miss Nick!

Delicious food. Great atmosphere. And there's a bunch of TVs to suit your sport needs. This is my favorite hang out to watch football with my boyfriend and his guys. The only downfall is the piece of food, but the service is fantastic and makes up for it.

Our beers took a while to arrive..then our waiter informed us that our "first batch of loaded fries were both scorched on top" so we had to wait double time for a second order to be made. The entire time we had to wait, an employee had brought another friend of his in and they were sitting adjacent to us. His friend was belligerent and so drunk that he was passing out on the table while his big whiskeys employee friend was literally shoving him out of the booth to wake him up. All of the waitresses were wasting time talking to them, idk how their customers weren't complaining. They then proceeded to announce they were leaving, and the waitresses asked if they were driving and the BW employee informed them that his drunken friend was bc he already had too many dui's. The waitresses did nothing to ensure safety or sobriety. The kid could not even walk and almost fell into my fiancé on his way out. It took them several minutes to even open the doors of their car as we watched them through the windows right in front of us. He then hit another vehicle in the parking lot while switching and drove off without even checking. I literally left zero tip and they're lucky I didn't report them to the police as far as I'm concerned. Will never be back and will be spreading this review else where.

Horrible food. Had high hopes for this place since it's so popular. Got the pretzel bites appetizers and they were greasy and chewy. The cheese dip was barley warm. Got the bourbon street burger. Supposed to be Cajun seasoned. All they do is sprinkle the Cajun on top of the cheese not in the meat where it would make sense to put seasoning. The bun was unbelievably dry which is bad because it's 3 times the size of the burger. Had to put it to the side just to eat the meat of the burger. Wife got a Cajun spice penne with shrimp. You can tell from the gritty texture of the sauce it was seasoned with the Cajun spice After it was cooked as more of a after thought. The fries are good but that was about it. Definitely would not recommend.

Not one thing about the experience was good. We were seated and waited 15 minutes until anyone showed up to our table. In fact we were just getting ready to leave and the waitress came over. We decided to take a chance and that was a big mistake. Our waitress didn't check on us or refill our drinks. After waiting around 30 minutes for our food it was awful, my childs food was raw. The loaded mashed potatoes were cold...the cheese never even melted...not even a little. Here is the thing, I usually don't complain ecspecially when the waitstaff acknowledges the bad experience but she seemed very confused as to why I was complaining. However once she realized there was a problem she tried to fix it. They did take the raw meal off the table and give us free app coupons. So I will give them that. Here is the thing, when you have a family of five a place like this can end up costing close to $100 so it should be worth it. Instead I had to pick up DQ for my kid on the way home and worry all night if we were going to get food poisoning from raw fish at BW. I don't even mind waiting a long time for my food if it comes out piping hot. I will say that I have been to other locations (Nixa is very good) but it was a miss this time. I will never return to the Republic Rd location.
