Biggie's Yardbird

Biggie’s Yardbird food truck is a total game changer! I stumbled across it while out and about, and now I’m officially hooked. The smell alone will pull you in, but it’s the people and the food that will keep you coming back. Stephanie and Michelle were running the truck like absolute pros — friendly, fast, and full of good vibes. Stephanie helped me figure out what to order (That Chicken Sandwich is out of this world), and Michelle made sure everything was fresh, hot, and perfect. You can tell they both care deeply about what they do, and it shows in every detail. That Chicken Sandwich is crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor — easily one of the best I’ve ever had. And don’t even get me started on the smash burger… perfectly fried, loaded with flavor, and just the right amount of messy. Pure comfort food heaven. If you see Biggie’s Yardbird parked at armadillo den, don’t think twice — GO. And make sure to shout out Stephanie and Michelle… they’re the heart and soul of this incredible food truck!

The food is phenomenal, good quality and a go-to whenever I am at Armadillo Den! Their biggie bowl and sweet potatoes are delicious! Highly recommend!

Smash.burger.on.point. We tried this out at the South Congress Cosmic location. Not sure if it was the pre libated taste buds speaking but this smash burger was all that you would hope for in a smash burger. Flavor, juiciness, and the right amount amount of pan crisp if ya know what I'm sayin'. The bread mashed perfectly with each bite and didn't at all steal the show. Not too greasy, not dry... it was just right (as Little Goldilocks would say). Chicken nuggets followed suit as flavorful and juicy. Perfect thickness...or should I say thinness to the batter. Sad to see that the South Congress Cosmic location is temporarily closed but maybe when in Menchaca we'll meet again.

Great place. I love the grilled chicken sandwich but you can’t go wrong with a smash burger. Get a spoon to eat the extra slaw that falls off your burger.

The food at Biggie's is fantastic! We ordered several things here and everything was great. The fries were perfectly seasoned and the chicken was crispy and juicy. They make their ranch in house which was so good! I would definitely order here again.

I know Austin has a lot of reality TV that films here, is this some kind of hidden camera show? They act like you're the idiot when you don't get any side or sauce with your chicken and have to pay for it. Then they ask you how many you want with no guidance to what's appropriate. And when you get too many sauces, even though they know it's too many, and to go back to order more food they give you such a paltry amount it's like "why did I even bother?" (See the pic of chicken "and fries"). It really seems like they want to troll people more than they want to make money, because I can't imagine they get much repeat business. Bizarre. Chicken tastes pretty good though, so 2 stars. Edit: also the menu image that's on this page is inaccurate. The 10 nuggets don't come with a side of fries and the "I'm not hungry" is now $5 and might as well not have any fries either. SKIP. THIS. TRUCK.

I ate here on two different occasions at armadillo den (the bar the food truck is located). The first time I didn’t pay so I had no idea how much anything cost. I thought it was a good burger, rhetorical mozzarella sticks were okay, basically what you’d expect from a food truck at a bar. Second time I came I paid for myself. I ordered the burger again (because I liked it last time). The burger a la carte was $12 plus tax and tip, so around $15 for just the burger. The burger is a good smashburger, is it worth $15 though? I understand you have to account for convenience (since you are at a bar) but say you’re coming here solely to eat this burger. I’d say no it’s not worth the price. If you’re drunk and hungry then the $15 is definitely fine. Either way good smashburger, slightly on the greasy side but not unbearably bad. Will probably eat again (cuz I get drunk and hungry 😂)

Thank you, Biggie's Yardbird, for reminding me that life is too short for mediocre food! If you find yourself near Armadillos, sprint to Biggie's, grab a Quadrupole Burger, and prepare for pure happiness. 10/10, would recommend to friends and foes alike!

100% worth the money. Located outside a cool bar with several other food trucks. Food was TOO GOOD. Mozzarella sticky were cheesy goodness, fried pickles a salty treat, and chicken nuggets soooo tender. I ordered online and it was ready in under 10 minutes. I'm pissed this place is so far from me.

We tried Biggies Yardbird for lunch and later canceled our dinner plans at another restaurant just so we could go back to Biggies! This food truck is so good. Easily my favorite burger I have ever had! Their chicken bites and fries were also amazing. I highly recommend trying their food!

Ordered from here for the first time using DoorDash. The food arrived hot and was delicious. I ordered That chicken sandwich which was moist and juicy and the perfect amount of crunchy and the single patty Smash burger which was well seasoned with perfectly melted cheese on a wonderfully soft bun. My kids and I shared the sandwiches and ate them so quickly I almost didn't get a picture of them. Will definitely order again.

Stopped by here to pickup a quick meal to go. It's inside the armadillo den garden. Was looking for something a little lighter so I got the biggie bowl that had either fried boneless or grilled chicken over a cabbage salad. The salad base was so fresh and had an absolutely delicious very light dressing. I also got to choose a sauce on the side for the chicken. Beyond exceeded my expectations. The person taking my order was a bit blunt but still kind so not an issue.

We ordered Biggies Yardbird through DoorDash for dinner tonight and loved it! My fiancé got their chicken sandwich, which was delicious. I got the double burger which was also very tasty, with the cheese melted very nicely on the burger. We will be back again at some point!

Had we known the portions were so big, we definitely would have split meals! My two girlfriends and I stopped by this food truck on a Friday evening on a pretty day. We knew they were slammed, but they didn't let it show. We did wait a hot minute to get our food, but once it arrived, it was worth it. The Jesus nuggets were like chicken nuggets but better and we dipped them in tasty ranch. The burger, sweet potato fries, and fried pickles, were all delicious. If we're hanging out I'm Armadillo Den again, I'm sure we'll stop by.

When at the Armadillo Den this past weekend, my friends and I got hungry so I decided to grab a few items from the Biggies Yardbird food truck that was there. There was only a short line but it went quickly and the woman in the truck who took my order was very friendly. I was texted when my food was ready which was in no time at all... the food was prepared quickly! I ordered the following: - Fried Pickle Chips: A bit odd that the pickles had a hole in the center but I guess that doesn't make a big difference. Each pickle was very thick with just a light breading. While they were OK, I wouldn't order these again. - Mozzarella Sticks: Perfectly done with just the right amount of cheese/ breading! These were snatched up so fast! - Jesus Nuggets w/ Fries: Very tasty and perfectly cooked! This was served with ranch which was delicious as well! I would definitely order from this food truck again!

My friend told me that this was one of the best burgers she has had in austin so I had to check it out. I ordered delivery and it was still exceptional!!! If you want some good burgers, chicken, apps then come check this place out. Armadillo Den is super fun bar and perfect for a bite while you hang and sip beers!

I don't know about the menchaca location but the food truck located in cosmic gave me the lamest chicken burger I've ever had for the steep price of $16, excluding any sides. The burger was tiny, came with a slab of chicken, pickles, and Cole slaw, and that's it. Total waste of money knowing I could've gotten the same thing from p Terrys down the street for less than half the price, and it would've came with a load of fries and a drink. I know it's hard to make a profit out here but a $16 underwhelming chicken burger doesn't belong in Austin. Not to mention the cashier was super weird and I could tell they just threw the burger together, it was a mess. Sorry to be a hater, but yeah steer clear of this food truck.

Great food truck - some of the best smash burgers I've had. The sweet potato fries, coleslaw, you can't go wrong. Team is super friendly and helpful as well, get the food out within 10-15 minutes for ya! If you're in south austin you have to drop by!

This is for their food truck on pickle road. They're extremely friendly and understanding, and food is great. Probably the most 'bang for buck' chicken sandwiches and burgers you'll get from one.

The smashburger is awesome. You'd think it would be impossible to get the smash part wrong, but so many places do (looking at you Might Fine, among others). These have thin, crispy, lacy edges mmmm. Apps/fries etc are standard but burger is worth driving for.

it took a while to get our food and i felt a bit disappointed upon receiving it. the fried jalapeños and smashburger are the only things worth getting imo. the fried jalepenos are a bit spicy, nice and crunchy. the burger had a fluffy bun and it was overall pretty good; just not much on it besides the patties and cheese so you'll probably want to get more than just the burger. the chicken nuggets were dry and flavorless :(

Without a doubt one of the best burger joints in all of Austin.. As good of a smash burger as Bad Larry's. Top notch quality made to order.. super thin smash burgers are legit here. I like the white American melty cheese and crispy fries. Careful with this place it can be addictive.

Order the nuggets. Your taste buds will thank you. Sauce Fuego also. Inside a cool bar, very nice workers.

If this was just about the chicken- it's really good. But, it's about the service! I've ordered twice and had it delivered. We've eaten twice at Armadillo Den. The last time, my wife ordered from the app. It took longer than expected, so when I went to ask about the order, I received a lesson about how third party apps take a percent of the profits and take away tips, etc. So, why have an app to order food? Well, it's because it's another way to get business and make money. Next time, try not berating a customer for ordering food from an app that You utilize to attract customers. I

Unlike Lizz I don't review based on parking, take an Uber. It's not their fault they are a good truck within a massively busy bar. Other than that this is the best smash burger I have ever had in Austin. Thank you

Owner/Operator John and his hardworking crew provide delicious recipes efficiently. They have this menu down. Trust me get the "Double" burger and chicken nuggs. The dipping sauces will keep you dippin. Be sure to thank the grill master Jake in the ball cap as well.

Amazing everything. Its found inside of the armadillo den. You can't go wrong! Make sure to try the homemade ranch and buffalo sauce. Will definitely be back all of football season!

We've been dying to get into Biggie's Yardbird. Reviews are good! We went on Sunday about 2 o'clock. Wrong! We could not find parking. There were cars circling in the tiny parking lot and one thing led to another. Soon they were horns, honking, and people yelling at each other. One guy in a big Dooley pulled in with a long trailer. He had a heckuva time getting out of that tiny parking lot. People were driving over the curb and parking under the trees. Parking on the sidewalk. Some cars were just leaving and disgust! Guys. You're losing business!

This truck has the best chicken nuggets ever! Super crunchy and moist inside. The selection of dipping sauces is amazing (The Thai sauce is our favorite) The people running it are friendly, kind and give excellent customer service.

This is the best smash burger I have ever had. It's located at Armadillo Den and I will always get one when I'm there even if I just ate or if my wife has dinner waiting at home. It's that good.

I know it's a bold statement but I'm doing it... best burger in Austin. Love a good smash burger with lots of flavor and they do it so well at Biggies Yardbird. However, I also love their fried chicken, the batter is incredible, so it's really hard to decide on a fav here. Great problem to have. I bring all my friends here when they come to visit, between the yummy food at biggies and the Texas vibes and friendly staff at Armadillo Den you're guaranteed a great night. Can't recommend this place enough!

Quite possibly the best smash burger I've had. Pairs great with a Thirsty Goat from the Armadillo Den. Great beer garden setting as well!
