Are you as creeped out by COVID as I am? Still stuck sheltering while the neighbors scatter? Do you regularly bathe in hand sanitizer? And do you consider outdoor excursions the sole silver lining of this pandemic? If you're getting my drift, you need to drop into Bike In Coffee. The place was practically built for this moment.
Accessible by car but meant for cyclists, Bike In Coffee offers an extensive farm-to-table menu underneath the shade of a Cottonwood grove, overlooking the farm that sources the goods. You'll place your order wearing your mask, get your food when they call your name, and retreat to an outdoor table to eat. Sound like an absolutely perfect recipe for VPS (Virus Paranoia Syndrome)? Yup yup.
And this seems like an afterthought, but the food's good, to boot! When they launched this adventure, seven years ago, they generally specialized in healthy, bright soups, breads and quiche, and that's still the case, but they've added a wealth of heartier options, and plenty of specials. Great smoothies. GO. Credit only, no cash, open Thursday through Sunday, 8am - 2pm. Your bike-in access point is just east of Gabaldon road on the path next to I-40.
