The 22 Best Restaurants In Kansas City, Missouri 2024

"Don’t limit yourself to the row of gorgeous pastries or fancy sparkling waters—Billie’s has some really good and substantial breakfast and lunch options. We’re talking about their salmon mezze bowl and the beet burger that’s been described by our vegetarian friends as “the best in the freaking world.” While it closes at 6pm, it’s a perfect place to meet for a casual coffee and a gluten-free, dairy-free pastry. Seriously, try the Blue Majik bar with blue spirulina or one of the candy bar imitations and see if you taste a difference." - ryan bernsten

I stopped by on my way through town. It’s rare to find places that have good gluten free baked goods. I was 100% pleased! I got a cinnamon roll and a donut. Both were so good! The cinnamon roll was soft and bready. It had such a delightful texture and crumb. It was as not overpowering with cinnamon, but just perfect. The cream cheese frosting was divine! The donut was delicious as well! Perfect texture and fabulous frosting!

The baked goods looked amazing!!!! We did not try them tho. My husband had steak and eggs and i had the salmon bowl. It’s unfortunate but his steak was very undercooked and his eggs were also undercooked. The food looked amazing and i wish it was for him. My bowl was actually pretty good my egg was lightly poached but the rest of my food did not need to be cooked. The mushroom latte was pretty good as well. The atmosphere is very cool. We have heard great things about this place but it did not deliver. My husband ate a couple pieces of the steak and a small part of his egg and his potatoes, which were amazing, and no one asked how his food was they just came and grabbed his plate. It’s a cool place hopefully your experience is better.

The Earl gray meringue is awesome! The breakfast burrito tasted good, just too small to be $15. Not enough parking or seating. The table I sat at was not big enough for the 3 of us and there were no other options on a Sunday morning.

Poor Dine-In Experience, Unacceptable Service and Lack of Accountability Dear Manager, I’m writing to share my frustration with the experience I had at your restaurant on Tuesday around 11 a.m. It was extremely disappointing from both a service and management standpoint. We waited over 40 minutes for our food, and despite checking in multiple times, we received no meaningful update. We eventually asked for a refund of the food we never got and walked out. The manager removed the two brunch items from our bill — which we appreciated — but we still paid for our coffee drinks. No further gesture was offered, not even comping the drinks or a more sincere apology beyond: “Sorry about that, we’re busy.” It was also obvious that dine-in customers were being deprioritized in favor of takeout orders. Multiple tables around us were experiencing the same delays, while a steady stream of carryout orders seemed to take precedence. On top of that, it was clear your kitchen is severely understaffed. Only two hardworking Hispanic cooks were handling all the orders, while four staff members at the front appeared to be doing little more than reading off receipts. This lack of balance and support contributes directly to the kind of poor service we experienced. I’m sharing this not just out of frustration, but because I hope you take it seriously. A simple apology isn’t enough when the issues are this consistent and structural. Hopefully you are able to hire more line cooks and start prioritizing dine-in customers again.

The CUTEST little spot for coffee, drinks and baked treats! I loved the outdoor patio and small French accents! 10/10 atmosphere and 10/10 dining experience

Google
Great place for dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan options! High quality ingredients and service! The sweet potatoes fries are the best 😎

Google
Holy crap, Billie's Grocery is so tasty! On a trip with a friend across the country and we found this gluten free restaurant. The entire bakery is gluten free and many food items on the menu are too. I got the fried chicken sandwich with seasoned fries and garlic aioli. Super tasty, I couldn't stop until it was all gone! My friend got a tuna sushi bowl and really enjoyed hers and has been missing seaweed salad. Before we left, we got a few items from the bakery, the tiramisu tart, sugar cookie, and apple cinnamon roll are all amazing and delicious! This is definitely a place to try some amazing food!

Google
Cute little spot I’ve been going to for breakfast. I enjoyed the meals I had there: Turkish eggs dish, and the papaya bowl. The papaya bowl was actually not a bowl but an entire wedge you have to cut up yourself. What I found to be the highlight were their pastries. The lemon tart and raspberry + lemon tart were absolutely delicious. I thought their desserts were very light and not too sweet, which I appreciate.

Yelp
Smooth operation! Light and bright space, perfect for a brunch outing. It is a clearly a popular spot and was busy but the line moves quickly and they had plenty of seating. Your order at the counter and your food and drinks are brought to your table. We had the Turkish eggs & grilled halloumi, crab omelette, and kale chips to eat there. Great flavors and filling. I had the shroomunity latte as well and it was just right, just a hint of sweetness and a nice earthy taste. Don't skip the pastry case! We snagged some treats to go and loved the unique flavor offerings.

Yelp
What a true gem of a restaurant in Kansas City, especially for those who follow gluten-free dietary restrictions! As someone with celiac, I was incredibly impressed by how extensive of a menu Billie's offered with dietary accommodations and how knowledgeable the staff were at answering questions about possible cross-contamination risks. I came here around 1 pm on a weekday, assuming that the lunch rush would be over, but it was still pretty packed, which was probably a sign of how popular and great this place was! The restaurant has a decent amount of seating, with some tables scattered in between that were selling some packaged snacks, books, and local goods. It was beautifully lit with plenty of plants and overall gave off such aesthetic and elegant vibes! I actually ended up ordering several times from Billie's during my brief trip in Kansas City and enjoyed every! single! thing! that I tried :) -daily frittata with side salad: 5/5 I had never eaten such a beautifully presented frittata before! while the actual egg was baked slightly more than I'd preferred, it was incredibly flavorful and the side salad that it came with was amazing! it was so fresh and colorful and had the best crunch ever to pair with the sweet sesame dressing that it came with - would definitely get this again, even though the rest of their menu looked amazing!! I got a side of sweet potato fries as well - be warned, the portion size is HUGE and the fries are dangerously tasty! -crab scramble: 4.5/5 I was so impressed that I was able to order this item with gluten-free accommodations! Their scrambled eggs were *so* soft and fluffy and I loved how they paired with the crab, which they definitely didn't skimp on in terms of portion size! their roasted potatoes were chef's kiss and they were able to swap out the regular croissant with GF baguette slices! They have such an extensive gluten free bakery selection as well - everything looked so, so good! -tiramisu mini tart: 4/5: the dough was drier than I expected but the tiramisu filling and whipped cream on top was absolutely delicious! this is such a fun, creative way to reimagine the classic dessert! -sugar cookie with raspberry orange frosting: 5/5, absolutely no notes besides the fact that I'm still craving this cookie! this had such a wonderful chewy texture that made it hard to believe that it was completely gluten-free! i absolute love the flavor combination of raspberry and orange together and while this cookie is very sweet, it was such a treat to indulge in! -peanut butter-macademia nut-white chocolate cookie: 4/5, whow they really tried to pack everything they could into this cookie! in theory all of these flavors should work super well together but the main flavor I tasted was peanut butter - which was understandable tbh. this cookie had a similarly impressive chewy texture, though it was a bit doughier compared to the sugar cookie. i had these cookies sitting around in the fridge for a few days, but after heating them up for 15 sec or so, they tasted amazing, as if they were fresh-baked again :) I can't praise Billie's enough - the overwhelming majority of positive comments I see on yelp truly don't do this brand justice! keep on being amazing Billie's!

Yelp
I took a class at Billie's Cooking school and it was nicely paced, the instructor was very helpful, and the recipes were delicious and provided to us the next day! I went alone but would recommend taking a partner with you since there were a lot of pairs in the class.
google avatar

Yelp
Billie's Grocery always have pretty and fun drinks! They have a great sweets/dessert selection, I think they all made pretty, I think some of the desserts could be better compared to André's and other places. Most of the lunches were pretty healthy. I wasn't quite impressed with the Asian style salad, it quite what I was expecting. Otherwise, most American breakfast/food were good.
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
Billie's Grocery is such a cute breakfast spot and the ambiance is so welcoming. Even though it was very busy the morning I went, the wait time was super short and our food got to us very quickly. I tried the BG Skillet and the Shakshuka. Both dishes were quite mediocre and lacked flavor in my opinion. The chicken sausage in the skillet was super dry but the potatoes were very good. The Shakshuka was a bit watery and lacked seasoning. I have tried the carnitas burrito in the past and that was definitely better than what I tried this time around. I would be open to returning to try some of the other dishes because the two I tried this time were a miss for me unfortunately.

Yelp
The atmosphere is something here. They have a varieties of gluten free pastries here. I'd love to try their pastries in future visits. This is my second visit in a month & I tried their Grilled Chicken and lemon Gremolata sando with sweet potato fries. Food was very good. Coffee was okay not great though. This place is always packed & you can also park the car at Costco parking nearby if you don't find parking at this place.
google avatar

Kerbie D.

Yelp
Ok so i love the ambiance. Super cute. I got the street frites- magically delish. Def would again. Also got the peanut chicken bowl... it was boring... idk.. needed more tang, more lime? Maybe some more cilantro? Idk it was just meh for me.. the char on the chicken gave it a bitter taste that needed to be balanced by SOMETHING. The desserts look amazing. Didn't try but looks to be a celiac's dream with all the Gluten free options. Amazing.. will try again? If there's a happy hour or something... but for now, it's giving basic hipster deli vibes. Oh- i got the "prissy b*itch" coctail.. there was a lot of ice.
google avatar

Ruchi A.

Yelp
Loved it! The atmosphere was great and the hostess was awesome at explaining the menu! I got the limeade and the tuna bowl! I didn't live the rice in the tuna bowl as it felt undercooked and it was on the smaller side but good for lunch! Parking honestly is terrible at the location so beware if you're in a rush!
google avatar

Melanie C.

Yelp
I love going here for their desserts! They are beautiful and delicious. Almost too pretty to eat! They also have a ton of vegan desserts for those who are looking for that option. It's a big open space with lots of natural light. They also have a great brunch menu. I would say the only negative is sometimes it's hard to find parking but other than that it's amazing!
google avatar

Haley M.

Yelp
The coffee was delicious, the food was yummy, but the real showstopper was the dessert case. We brought home several treats to share and couldn't get enough. Can't wait to come back and try something else!
google avatar

Erik O.

Yelp
Yup. Enough said right? Such a fun spot with outstanding service and I would argue the coffee is a close second. With so many food options to pick from, you won't have a choice but to stop in again and grab a new pastry or menu item.

Yelp
Wow! A million times yes will I be back! I had so many people recommend this spot to me for a quick bite or a stop on lunch break. I finally took the opportunity to visit with my grandparents and I was astonished with everything about this local business. The building is stunning, old brick, classic to KC and the surrounding scenery. The inside is clean, white, boho, and airy. I love the combined modern and rustic vibe the place brings into one. The menu is truly delectable - your favorites, just elevated. I had a Reuben, and it was the best Reuben I have had! The pickled toppings stood out in the best way, making the sandwich one to remember. Note that when something says it is spicy, it is SPICY! I was also beyond pleased with the dessert case. I truly wanted one of everything, but wasn't disappointed with our choices. Will have to be back to slowly try one of each!! Last but not least, the service was phenomenal for the store setting. Upon arrival, you can pick up a menu located throughout the store, and order at the counter. You will get a table number where you can find open seating. We had a few questions and waved an employee down who helped answer every question and interest we had. A remarkable and must see spot in KC!
google avatar

Lindsay W.

Yelp
I don't live in KC anymore but wish this place was around when I did. You order at the counter and they bring your food. It's a great menu from breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, soups and salads to bowls. Everything looked so delicious it was hard to decide what to get. The gal recommended the bagel with lox and it did not disappoint. The pastries and desserts looked so decadent so I had to try the cilantro lime cookie - yummy! Crispy on the outside and chewy / soft in the middle. They also offer cooking classes as well! I'll definitely be back when I visit KC again
google avatar

Brelin S.

Yelp
Are we joking!!? We came to KC on a little getaway from OKC. I've been gluten free for about 15 years, so my top priority in every city we visit is so find good places to eat! Billie's Grocery did NOT disappoint! That GF cinnamon roll was hands down the best one I've ever had. I said to my husband, "it's a crazy experience to go out to eat and be able to eat almost everything on the menu!" What an incredible place. In fact, we're going to go back in before we head home!
google avatar

Grace P.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick treat and got this apple cinnamon roll. It was delicious and can't believe it was gluten free.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
I had seen rave reviews about this place, but was skeptical for no reason other than I generally don't believe the hype. I was very pleasantly surprised. So many great gluten-free options! I tried the sesame chicken salad, which has fried chicken on top - really great. I also got a strawberry pop tart to have later. It's more of a jelly filled pastry - it's not pop tart texture, but even better (though I didn't love the frosting and ended up scraping it off, it didn't need it). I will definitely return to try more pastries and more entrees as well.
google avatar

Sierra H.

Yelp
Though Billie's is a bit outside of my usual price range, I am more than willing to spend a couple extra bucks for food this delicious! The Spanish Steak sandwich I tried was wonderful. I also tried their classic frosted sugar cookie (not pictured) and I've been thinking about it for the last week straight! Additionally, staff was friendly and the atmosphere at Billie's was busy and vibrant!
google avatar

Jason G.

Yelp
Nice bright atmosphere - hip bakery feel with lots of natural light. I had the Turkish eggs. Great Mediterranean inspired flavor went well with eggs, cream and cheese with bread. I'm curious to try other breakfast items on the menu
google avatar

Bob C.

Yelp
So I am weekend regular and love the food, wish I could get away from the skillet but the stomach wants what the stomach wants. So why the three star rating you ask, it's because they charged me a dollar for hot sauce and a dollar for jelly, come on folks, every normal restaurant has both hot sauce and jelly on the table for their customers.
google avatar

Monte' J.

Yelp
Update 5/18/24 Came back and tried another dish 2/5 I substituted carmelized onions for raw/fresh onions but they sauteed them anyway. I also opted for scrambled hard eggs vs poached eggs. The service was good. The meal was bland, I got a few pickled onions from my wires dish to give it some flavor. Texture wise it was good and the portion size was fair. I want to like the dish but it's lacking. I'll see if the third time is a charm and try the burger the next time around and my better half loves this place. If you haven't been come and enjoy ( the pastries are amazing and full of flavor)
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
A gluten-free/ celiac's dream. Fresh, clean, natural ingredients. I got this GF pop tart, a breakfast bowl and a coconut yogurt. SO GOOD. I would come back for this... and I live nowhere in Kansas!
google avatar

Michele J.

Yelp
I've been a buck of times but have only had breakfast and the desserts! I love the bowls and handcrafted coffees.
google avatar

Azile Y.

Yelp
Loved my spicy tuna bowl! It's a tad pricey here but so what, you're paying for good food and the ambiance. I sat outside and enjoyed the strong WiFi signal on my laptop. I noticed that the outdoor tables were light on seating, there were two long tables, one of them had a meeting going on with every chair occupied and the other has only 2 chairs, both occupied, and then a huge space with no chairs- so I sat at a high stool instead. My friend had the Turkish eggs, which I am getting next time!! Parking situation isn't ideal, it gets so crowded- carpool or walk if possible.
google avatar

Jen F.

Yelp
Beautiful food and atmosphere! Highly recommend Billie's Brunch Bowl! It was protein and tons of fresh veggies. A perfect balancing act of flavors and great nutrition.
google avatar

Shay D.

Yelp
The food was delicious!! Service was fast. I got the carnitas bowl and I am generally not a fan of pork but this was tasteee. Came with whole grain rice, beans, pico( a bit too much jalapeños for me), greens and guacamole with a red sauce on top. It was very fresh and flavorful. Dessert was a blueberry type cookie with filling in the middle. Yum yum yum. Oh yes and cant forget the Chai latte with sweetener added. Just the right combo for a Saturday lunch
google avatar

Taylor C.

Yelp
Everything we got was great. The ingredients taste very fresh and clean. They have a ton of bakery items that we will have to come back and try everything looked delicious!
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
Absolutely excellent first visit to a place that I hope to come back to time and time again... It was recommended to me doubly and I was even more than that please with the food, beverages and baked goods here!
google avatar

Raven S.

Yelp
Food:5/5 Atmosphere:5/5 Service:5/5 Picture it. It's a Saturday morning and you want to grab some good food, hang out with friends, and grab some sweet treats and/or hosting essentials for your next dinner party. You're trying to figure out where to go.. there is one answer. Billie's Grocery. A beautiful spread of gluten free, protein packed, and TASTY treats and foods will greet you. Next you can order brunch or from their all day menu and with a plethora of choices, you are bound to find something you like. I ordered the steak sandwich with sweet potato fries and had to do a little dance after my first bite! The food was fresh and tasted great! After we ate I grabbed myself some mocktail mixers (how cool is it that they have tequila, gin, and rum substitutes for those who want to be spirit free?!), some flowers, and some sweets for the road. I would definitely recommend stopping in and enjoying this lovely establishment.
google avatar

Vladi Z.

Yelp
Been here a few times and the food is great, with solid coffee options too. Parking is a bit limited, and the prices are a little up there
google avatar

Aaron S.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic. From great pastries to healthy food options to some unique items to shop from, this place has it all. With an extensive list of ambitious menu items, I suspect that this place does *several* things well. Often busy and with a small parking lot, you may not get premium parking, but definitely worth the trip--and we didn't have to wait to be seated. To drink, I had the shroomunity latte, which I loved. The flavor and texture really hit the spot. To eat, I had the crab scramble. I didn't really get a taste of crab, but it was so good I didn't even mind. The egg and English muffin underneath were perfectly cooked and the spicy mayo is something I will dream about. Before leaving, we enjoyed shopping some of their spirit free alcohol options, probiotic sodas, and flowers. We'll certainly return! What I enjoyed: many things. Friendly service, great atmosphere, food quality, healthy options What could be better: there wasn't much love in the hash browns that came with my entree but overall not bad. Also, my wife and I's food arrived at significantly different times, which wasn't ideal. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Theresa D.

Yelp
I had the Billie bowl which was super soggy and not seasoned. Very bland and could use a lil spice! Expected more for the price but the pastries looked super yummy
google avatar

Oliver D.

Yelp
Excellent food, and very, very healthy menu options. Avocado toast dish was excellent, dad had bowl with tuna. Self service on water and utensils FYI.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Terrific food, beautifully presented. Staff was somewhat reserved/subdued, and restricted their service, once we'd ordered, to delivering the food and clearing the table after we'd gone. If I'd known that, I'd have been somewhat less generous with the tip when I paid. To be clear: the service wasn't bad, it was just very limited. The food was exceptional. I had the salmon salad, and shared kale chips with friends. Also had the delicious Quarantea (mostly because I like a good pun; not usually a tea drinker, but this was very satisfying). We also had a selection of their desserts: all were interesting, but there was only one that I'd order again. Beautiful, light-filled space, with outdoor and indoor seating. A selection of ingredients and books are available to purchase, and they seem to do a brisk take-out business. Would definitely visit again when I am back in town.
google avatar

Ashley F.

Yelp
I was so excited to try Billy's and it did not disappoint. The service was exceptional and the staff was very knowledgeable about my questions. They have a dedicated gluten-free fryer and they don't use harmful oils which I loved so I went ahead and got the sweet potato fries for the first time in a long time. Everything on the menu looks amazing including the drinks and the drinks in the cooler that are separate. The bakery items are out of this world beautiful and tasty too. I ordered the steak sandwich with a gluten-free bun and sweet potato fries. For dessert, I had the lemon curd tart. I even took a snickerdoodle cookie, a blueberry muffin, and a caramel coconut protein bite to go. I cannot wait to return. It's a little out of my way, but it's worth the trip. Check it out, even if you don't have diet restrictions. The food is delicious!
google avatar

Brandy N.

Yelp
Such a cute brunch spot! Don't let the name fool you, this isn't your typical "grocery" run. Their menu is gluten free and DELICIOUS. The only thing is, is that they get pretty busy and it can be tough to find a table! Get there before the brunch rush, or just stop in for some desserts instead!

Sophia T.

Yelp
Was not impressed! Lacks flavor, small portions, overall not impressed. This place is cute but that's the only good thing about it. Very overhyped! Also ask for a 18-22% tip when you have to get your own menus, go up to order, get your own silverware, and water.
google avatar

Bobbie H.

Yelp
What a gem!! so glad one of my book club friends suggested to hold our April book club meeting here. Such a cute place in Midtown with loads of drink, brunch and food options along with cute adorable pastries. Service was wonderful. This place was packed, but still found a spot to eat. So you know that it was going to be good and it so was! I had the lemon chicken sandwich. My daughter had a burgerand my friends salad. Loads of gluten-free options, healthy drinks and my favorite pastry was the Lavendar divinity highly recommend checking them out! I'll definitely be back for one of those delicious cakes!
google avatar

Lily S.

Yelp
This place was so aesthetically pleasing!!! The whole place was very modern and upscale. They had multiple choices for healthy drinks and different cooking products/wine etc. Their pastry displays were mouth watering just looking at them! They had so much to choose from, ranging from gluten free, diary free, plant based, nut-free, everything! They really accommodate for everyone's needs. Not only food but drinks! The staff was very helpful and it was very laid back, you just grab a menu look over it and order it up front, then they bring it to your table when ready. I like that idea so you aren't waiting on a waitress or anything. I had Billies beef and onion burger which was so delightful, it was a big burger with onion inside and out,but it didn't have that strong onion taste, it was perfect. Their sweet potato fries were a very nice compliment with it as well. For desert I went with the classic brownie, and banana pudding which were both eaten immediately haha. They weren't too sweet and just the perfect bite after a meal. They had so much to choose from though I will definitely be coming back to try more!
google avatar

Hannah K.

Yelp
Gluten free HEAVEN! If you're gluten free and are visiting KC, this is a must visit! Tiramisu, chai bar, Snickers bar, Twix bar, cookie dough bar, cheesecake, pumpkin roll, cream puff, eclair, pumpkin woopie pie, donuts, muffins, cookies, and I tried the home made strawberry pop tart! You could go every day of the month and not have the same item. So so wonderful and delicious!
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
Here I am again, enjoying some healthy and tasty food, and knowing it's worth it. I believe they may have changed the menu recently. I came here with my husband, and I wanted to have this shrimp with zucchini pasta that I swear I had once but didn't see it on the menu. I chose the Spanish steak sandwich, which I have had before. It's excellent. My husband had the spicy Korean chicken handheld, and loved it. He said it cleared his seasonal sinuses, lol.
google avatar

Josh T.

Yelp
Was super excited to try all of the GF treats -- but both times I've not been able to go early enough to get what I want which is a good thing. The atmosphere is very nice and the servers have been nice. I've only ordered treats to go and they have been hit or miss. Some of the bars just are missing something from making them great. Still grateful for the GF options!
google avatar

Mandy L.

Yelp
Billie's is always a delight! I love the eggs with chili oil! My partner tried something new this time, the Turkish eggs + Halloumi, and was raving about it - absolute perfection! Always a lovely selection of GF pastries and sweets, as well as juices, coffees and other delights. Fabulous vibes, helpful staff, and great location!
google avatar

Herb H.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great! I would highly recommend it a nice little gem off Linwood
google avatar

Amanda V.

Yelp
So many great gluten free options. Cookies, cakes, cinnamon rolls, cheesecakes, baklava, you name it! I got some pastries to go as well as the kale chips to munch on while I was there. Great selection, and everything is gluten free.
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
Always so fresh and delicious! I had my go-to of the Brekki -- so good and plentiful! Their sourdough bread is the best! My daughter loves their detox smoothie - great flavor to it! OUR FAVORITE is their feta dip -- AMAZING - do not miss on this - so very very fresh and delicious! Dog friendly on the patio too which makes it that much more fun!
google avatar

Dalr H.

Yelp
Fresh and quite filling. While exceptionally clean and tidy, the decor more closely resembles an Esthetician's office than an eatery. The architecture combined with the high volume of seating made the ambient noise levels quite cacophonous at times. Perhaps some noise canceling decor might be in order Staff is largely ambivalent. Excellent gluten free selection, but fairly $$. Was looking forward to a gluten free cookie but a fly with celiacs beat me to it (see pic). Might go back.
google avatar

Jade H.

Yelp
I love coming back to KC and treating myself to some Billie's Grocery! Got the orange matcha latte with oat milk today and it was delightful. Thanks for a good time as always, BGs :)

Alicia W.

Yelp
Came here for a lunch date with my sister, omg! Everything I tasted was SO good! Very cute ,chic and clean place. If you choose to dine in, you have to order and pay for your food first. The cashier will then give you a number to bring to your table, so the server knows where to bring your food. They even have mocktails!!! Which is an all around win for me! I tried the Mock Ginger Mule and the Mai Lai both were very refreshing. Lunch consists of a few things; From the plates and bowls selection I had the Spring roll bowl and Thai bowl The nibbles selection I had the sesame ginger watermelon. Listen that was the BEST watermelon I have EVER ate! All the different types of flavors all at once! This is a must try! This dish and the smoked salmon bagel which you can fine on the brunch menu. Where both my favorites among everything I tried. Great size portions as well. Your also able to order off of the brunch menu at anytime which I think is great, it give the people such as myself to have breakfast any time during the day. The dessert were also very good, so many great options to choose from. I tried the matcha raspberry and strawberry cram cup cakes. SOOOO good! Everything in the bakery is gluten free and vegan friendly options. If I could eat here every day I would! They also offer outside seating, which is another win for me! I highly recommend giving this place a try! Shout out to the owner, this is a Phenomenal establishment!

Billie's is so cute and well-loved that I hate to write this review, but I really believe there are better places to pick up your sugar rush in KC. I've picked up pastries from here a number of times, and while everything looks stunning, the end result hasn't really delivered--either the textures are off or the cake is dry or the flavor profile is just strange. The latest thing I tried from Billie's was their Carrot Cake, which was too rich in the frosting and too crumbly and sweet in the cake. For the price of a full cake, Billie's quality varies too much for me to bet on it. In general, I think if you tend to like your desserts less sweet and more balanced, Billie's probably isn't the place for you. Would much rather recommend French Market's desserts.
