SPQR Goes Raw | Eater SF

"Opened the week of June 16 at 225 Bush Street (the former Bluestone Lane location), this cafe focuses on specialty lattes, matcha and chai with South Indian-inspired touches — think Mysore filtered coffee, turmeric lattes sweetened with jaggery and ginger cardamom chai. A second location is reportedly in the works, though that has not been confirmed by the owners." - Dianne de Guzman

Google
I recently discovered an amazing new coffee spot just a block away! I tried their Saffron Latte and Ginger Cardamom Chai, and I absolutely liked it. THE ONLY PLACE WITH A JAGGERY (sugar) Option!!!

The owners are so kind and put so much care into the quality of the ingredients. They make their own Indian spice blends with turmeric, cardamom, saffron, rose petals, ginger to make beautiful healthy smoothies, coffee, and non-caffeinated drinks too

Authenticity at its best. Tried Filter coffee, Ginger cardamon and a ginger molasses cookie. Tastes ultimately delicious. Thank you for the warm welcome and wishing you all the best for sharing the healthy version of ancient, organic herbals in hands. You will find me often stopping by at your place.

Google
A fantastic new coffee shop in the FiDI. The great staff and sweet owner made for a very nice and friendly atmosphere. That personal touch makes this a very unique location in this part of the city. There is a good amount of variety on the menu, which makes for great repeat visits. Must try.

Sadly I tried the masala chai here - it looked like they used a premix chai mix. The 12 oz (smallest size cup) - mostly tasted of milk. Not authentic at all. The premix seemed to be a liquid that was already premade liquid (chai concentrate perhaps ?) Very disappointing experience, as I expected this place be good / authentic based on the previous reviews :(

Stopped by at closing and the owner made me a latte anyway. How many times have I arrived at a café at closing and been turned away. Customer service and customers are Bingo Streets' top priority, and the coffee is good, too. I had a plain coffee drink but they have interesting spices to add. Give Bingo Street a try.

Google
Great collection of Indian drinks, and even the basic espresso is high quality!

Yelp
The coffee in my lattes is so smooth never bitter and I can drink it right down because the temperature is perfect. The staff is warm and friendly.

Yelp
A new cute little coffee shop in the FiDi, across the street from local behemoth Blue Bottle. They have a strongly Indian-influenced offering, though also the basics. I was a big fan of their Chai. Mysore Style Filter Coffee: Kinda like a hybrid of a filter coffee and a latte. Took awhile, but it was made from scratch. While I liked the hybrid, I feel like a more traditional take might resonate more with customers. Masala Chai: Ok, this really hit the spot. Lots of spices, strong tea and creamy. Just the morning treat I needed! Bingo Special Sandwich: A very veggie forward sandwich. Tons of mushrooms inside and on top. Spinach inside with lots of cheese. Some slight Indian spices, though not too pronounced. Had it for breakfast, but it feels more like a lunch thing. Blueberry Muffin: Pretty standard. Fluffy enough, but not so fluffy it feels like a cupcake. Lots of blueberries.

Yelp
When I looked at what's inside Bingo Street Coffee, it felt like I'm already into the streets of Mumbai, where rose petals and the caravan of spices filled the air. And the one who owns the coffee shop is a modern day Hindi who is chill. He's knowledgeable with the spices and showing me how his spices are enchanting my palate. Just like the hot cardamom ginger chai, iced masala chai is just as enchanting and more bold. The kasa garam chai I made at home, more bold. I never gotten tired of my most favorite beverage of choice that was sweet and spicy for my health. Wish Samovar Tea and Chai will come back for business one day. Can't wait to find out how far Bingo Street Coffee in the Financial District goes.

Yelp
Very cute shop that could do better with branding. They are new and working out the kinks but my whole group enjoyed all our drinks. Highlights were the rose milk latte and the chai, but I think drinks were solid overall. They are focused on high quality ingredients so everything tasted very fresh. The service was super friendly and accommodating. We will be back!

Yelp
The pour over coffee was sour and tasted like garbage. Definitely not worth the $5.50 they charge for a small. There's plenty of nearby coffee shops with much better options around. I always try to support these new coffee shops but this one was a big miss. Too many great options in the vicinity to serve mediocre coffee.

Yelp
The coffee was a bit on the bitter side, but it reminded me of the Indian-style coffee I make at home--which I actually liked. I really appreciate that they open early in the morning. The service was friendly, and the location is super convenient--just a short walk from my office. I also like the honesty from the staff; they mentioned that the store is new and they're open to feedback. The place definitely has potential--just needs some good guidance to help it grow.

Yelp
Had an awesome pour over here the other day. Went back again, same great taste. Really nice staff, would definitely recommend a cup!
