I came here when Mei Lin was guest chef at this establishment. The food was good. Had foie gras for the first time. The food is very fancy I would say. There was foam as garnish.

Just a fabulous meal. The food is definitely richer than a lot of "fine dining" / new Californian, etc., type of establishments, but we got a LOT of flavors and the portions were large enough for everyone to get their fill of each dish. Very knowledgeable bartenders who took pride in knowing everything about the beers, wines, and spirits on offer and an incredibly friendly and unpretentious place. The comparison with Ink, where we went the previous night, could not be more stark. The rabbit baklava was an incredible surprise, and the recommended pork shank did not disappoint.

Great cocktails. Very trendy and hip without being so over the top. The food was excellent as were the drinks. Our server couldn't have been nicer or more friendly. We had a great experience.

When we first walked into this place, we were not as excited as we could have been. It kind of looked like a typical douchey LA spot. The music backed that assumption up, as did the lighting. Luckily for us, there were no tables available… so they offered us a spot on the back patio. This changed everything. It wasn't pretty, per se. It's basically tables on a patio outside near an alley, but the experience improved tenfold once we got outside. The servers were knowledgeable and friendly. We couldn't hear the terrible music inside once we were outside. Instead, we were treated to an entirely different soundtrack. One that consisted of a lot of hits of the 80s and 90s. At one point, my wife and I got to hear something we didn't even know existed – the full length of version of the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme song. Which is kind of amazing. We couldn't hear the loud, noxious sounds of the typical Hollywood crowd inside. Instead, we got to enjoy a quiet, intimate evening. The best part was that the food was excellent. We ordered a lot, and were impressed by every dish that we got. Inventive, well-made and delicious. As you can tell from my five stars, this place ended up being a hidden delight. I highly recommend it. Just make sure you avoid the douche-ridden interior and get yourself out back. You'll thank me.

Love love this place! It's a tiny place that has cool decor and great ambience. Definitely make a reservation before you come here. This is a tapas / share plates style restaurant. Every dish is carefully crafted and staffs are very friendly as well!

I know I've already given a 5 star review but I wanted to revisit my comments after two years and reconfirm what an incredible and delightful dining experience Birch is. I have now not only come here for lunch but now twice for dinner as well and I am continually impressed with the menu and the service! If you're going to come to this restaurant, you gotta do it properly and order a few dishes to get the true experience. From their Appetiser Menu I highly recommend the Avocado and Strawberry Salad, their Fries and the Octopus with Shishito Peppers and Hummus. The salad is actually super special, the burrata cheese they add to it is really different and adds so much more to what could be a pretty basic dish. However, my absolute favourite is the Chicken Liver Foi Gras Mousse! It is so tasty, smooth and rich and pairs perfectly with the crusty bread alongside it. It is really is difficult to pick a Main Course at Birch because everything sounds delicious! At the moment I am loving the Bolognese with Lamb Ragout, Goat Cheese, Feta and Calabrean Chilli! My favourite thing is that they don't use spaghetti noodles but small, cavatelli pasta bits. I don't know if they make the pasta onsite but I'd like to think they do as it tastes so damn good! The wine list is extensive and it is really easy to find something nice to pair with your food, if you are unsure the wait staff are super helpful and will guide you to the right choice. I love this restaurant. I love it so, so much. The food, the vibe, the staff and did I mention the food?? I bring my family members here when they visit from Australia. I go here alone for nice dinners, I bring friends- whatever. Try this place, you won't regret it.

Amazing decor its a small place off cahuenga as soon as we walked in we where greeted by our waitress sin who was sweet and helpful we ordered from the happy menu which was surprisingly affordable the albacore poke was only 8 dollars and was as key daughter said divine!! It came with chips the albacore was marinated in some yuzu sauce the albacore itself is super fresh and meaty the dish was a decent size we followed up by the fried rice 10 dollars with a fried egg that just oozed deliciousness the rice transported me to Asia no kidding! We then ordered the pork shank (not for the faint of heart) a shank the size of my arm glazed and served with Asian style pickled carrots and cucumbers with poison siracha and some fresh remain lettuce put it all together and its a bite the gods would remember for eternity but the real killer was the desert my official favorite pleasure on earth the Sticky Toffee Pudding made from dates its gluten free and to die for with a caramel sauce and some homemade ice cream Birch has been one for the books ill be coming here as often as I can thank you guys oh before I go the service is impeccable I didn't need to lift a finger thanks to Jimmy the manager and our lovely waitress sin

Great food specials for HH till 7 pm. The short rib rice ball ($3) is amazing. Birch has a good drink list and nice atmosphere. Parking is a little hard in the area but there are a few well prices lots and free street parking if you don't mind walking a bit.
