"Those looking for hot chicken south of Nashville would do well to make a trip to chef Richard Hales's rustic restaurant in the mid-century Confidante Hotel . Wash it all down with bottomless brunch, which includes mimosas, Bloody Marys, and apple cider sangria. The menu is a mixture of Hales's signature dinner plates and some lighter, healthier options; fresh-pressed juices and oatmeal are paired with waffles, pancakes, and eggs. For the ultimate blend of sweet and savory, opt for the hot chicken and waffles, it's got the makings of a perfect Sunday morning feast." - Jennifer M. Wood, Sara Liss

The Bird & Bone is found inside the Confidante Hotel, and I came here on 2 different days while I was vacationing in Miami. The first day (Friday) I was here for lunch, and I ordered the fish tacos. They were delicious and came with a slightly sweet mango salsa, which is my absolutely favorite. The second day (Sunday), I was here for brunch and ordered the fried chicken and waffles. The chicken was juicy and seasoned well, and the waffles were also incredible. My friend and I also ordered shakes, but I didn't take any pictures of them since A) they didn't look very appetizing and B) they didn't taste any better than they looked. The food was great though, especially the brunch!

I visited Bird + Bone specifically for the fried chicken. My waitress suggested this dish, Nashville Hot Chicken and waffle, could be split but my guest and I had no trouble eating the entire thing. The chicken was very, very good but the waffle was just ok. The side of pimiento mac n cheese was fantastic. I’d come back to try the biscuits and gravy. The venue was very chill outside, inside was meh. Overall, a good experience.

Normal food, terrace not really nice, need re furnishing, a little high on price just for chicken. Service ok. We will probably not come back. We tried chicken waffle and chips jar they it was good. Too windy. There are better options in Miami Beach

I had heard of Bird & Bone and wanted to try it. We happened to have a son who was staying in Miami Beach and were meeting him for lunch. So I made a reservation. Located in the Confidante Hotel. We ate on the patio outside which is huge. I asked the waiter what is their signature dish. He replied the FRIED CHICKEN & CORNBREAD WAFFLE . Chef Hales’ Award Winning Fried Chicken and Heirloom Corn Waffle, Candied Bacon, with a Bourbon Syrup. Just OK My wife ordered the BIRD WALDORF with Pulled Chicken, Frisee, Spinach, Nuts Apples, Cheddar, Benton’s Ham, Champagne Vinaigrette, fair Chief Richard Hale has a very impressive background but in my opinion missed the mark.

Went two times and enjoyed the food and the service as well. Truth is ,I enjoy the chef and liked supporting the location. We went a 3rd time, through a Travelzoo voucher. That experience really marred our opinion on the restaurant as we were treated fairly poorly,(basically ignored) presumably because a 20% tip is baked into the voucher and perhaps the thought is " I don't need to try" . Regardless, it was shocking at how crappy the service was. To be honest, the food was still good(maybe better??) , so I can't take that from them. So, if you haven't gone-go. Be careful with the vouchers....

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner the day after Christmas 2018. We are into farm to table restaurants and the food quality did not disappoint. It's a nice intimate setting with dim lights and rustic decor. I had the crispy duck with roasted veggies. I didn't like watermelon salad which was the given side so the server gladly suggested a substitute. I'm thinking about it now, better to ask how the meat is cooked because I'm pretty sure the menu said roasted duck. It looked fried some so you may want to ask. I have a restricted diet on fried food so I should have thought of it but it was still good! My duck was extra crispy but still good, veggies were nicely roasted and side of grits (ordered extra) were creamy and I could actually taste the corn flavor of the grits. My boyfriend had the burger and fries. He said it was good and I didn't hear a peep from him while he housed it. The meat looked tender and juicy with a soft and fluffy bun. The service was good after we were acknowledged altho it did take about 10 minutes for someone to offer us water. The host came over and noticed and got a sever and was apolologetic. We didn't really mind because we were busy combing the menu of all the delicious sounding food!! Total bill was around $100 including tip but no drinks. A 20% gratuity was added to the bill which is typical for most Miami restaurants. After our meal, we moved over to the bar for a wine and cappuccino. No food is pictured because we were so hungry I didn't think of taking a picture! The restaurant is in The Confindante hotel so pictured is right outside the restaurant where they have a nice seating lounge area. Overall we enjoyed the food and experience!

Wow. Food, service, and atmosphere was amazing. Our waiter, Steve, was very accommodating and knowledgeable of the menu. All four of us shared the scallops, hot fried chicken, roasted chicken, and chicken and waffles along with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. It was sensational. It's a bit pricey but you get a ton of food. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town.

Food was a bit odd, but good quality and delicious. Retractable roof does not work. Service was good. Prices very high...likely a Miami Beach thing.
