PEOPLE OF COLOR: BEWARE
If you don't mind being ignored or overlooked, then go.
My wife is a Black Woman, and I am Brown Male Latino.
My wife and I recently (09/09/2023) attended the Les Misérables at the Pantages Theater. Afterwards, we made are way to this good looking establishment.
We sat at the bar, hardly anyone was there. There was 2 bartenders. We patiently waited. After about 15 minutes, we were asked if we were ready to order a drink. Mind you, when the bartender asked us, he was rushing to make a drink for a lady, so as he asked, I said "Yes", but he walked away to finish preparing the drink for the other lady. Within seconds of being asked, about 5 White Ladies sat next to us. Once the same bartender came back, he didn't come back to my me and my wife. He immediately directed all of his attention to the 5 White Ladies, and began serving their drinks.
My wife and I, were immediately aware of what just took place. So we were curious and decided to just kind of wait to see if he would actually come back to us - he never did! We gave him another 5 minutes after serving all of the 5 White Ladies, and he continued making his rounds around us.
We decided to get up and leave, but not without my wife informing the bartender of what he had just done. Of course, he acted surprised, and unapologetic. My wife also informed the manager, and he seemed to act like he was concerned, but at that point one could tell he just rather us leave.
So PEOPLE OF COLOR, beware of going to this establishment. If you are a WHITE PERSON - your good, you'll be taken care just fine.
NOTE: My wife and I were dressed sharp for the occasion, so it wasn't like we walked in with some jeans and flip-flops. I posted a picture of us, just to illustrate how we were dressed for the occasion.
