The 15 Best Jazz Clubs In NYC

"Birdland is a jazz club in the Theater District where the crowd consists of fathers, fathers of fathers, and tourists who aren't going to a Broadway show that night. And thanks to some good music and not-too-shabby Cajun food, this is a useful place for an old-timey dinner date or a night out with visiting relatives. Just make sure to buy your tickets a couple of days in advance, especially for the weekend, because they’ll be sold out the day of. " - neha talreja, bryan kim, hannah albertine, matt tervooren, will hartman

21 Top NYC Bars and Restaurants With Live Music | Eater NY

"Birdland in the Theater District, started in 1949: a romantic, red-lit bar that books top-notch acts — including jazz icon Freddy Cole, Brazil-born Eliane Elias, and the virtuoso house band — and serves Cajun-influenced dishes worth seeking out. With a $20 food/drink minimum per person, food isn’t necessary, but the crab cake with cherry tomatoes and remoulade or jambalaya loaded with crawfish, chicken, sausage, and bacon are both worth ordering. Tickets are available in advance or at the door." - Paul Schrodt

Besides the ticket price, there is a must consume/pay per person of $20.00. This is two drinks or one drink and one plate or dessert. The ambience is very nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the wonderful performance of the Riva Coltrane Quartet on June 26th, 2025, which was a great concert. We ordered a starter and a dessert and three drinks. All of those were tasty and perfectly served. You need to experience yourself.

I was walking around the west side today and happened to pass by The Birdland Jazz Club. I remember going there many years ago. The outside could use some freshening up to make t more attractive. This is a very busy area and according to g to the posted schedule, they are still quite busy with the performers.

What a spectacular place. It's sophisticated, seeped in historic charm and incredibly fun. We had the pleasure of watching the afro latin jazz orchestra on May 18th led by Arturo O'Farrill. He told warm stories and they performed beautiful music that melted into the atmosphere, making for a perfectly romantic night, emotional and surreal. We started with spicy palomas and dinner itself was amazing. We had quaint meatballs that didn't try to be anything but their delicious selves, a generously portioned spinach goat cheese salad and the fried chicken. All dishes were delicious and served in a timely manner. It all felt comforting and classic. Our server, Julie, connected with us about where we were from and asked questions after the band that made us feel special on our first night in New York. We would absolutely love to be back.

Stepping into Birdland feels like stepping back in time — in the best way possible. The intimate setting, steeped in jazz history, immediately wraps you in warmth and nostalgia. The acoustics are sublime, every note floating effortlessly through the room, making even the quietest ballads feel personal. The lineup the night I visited was stellar. The performers had a deep connection with the audience, blending technical mastery with heartfelt improvisation. Especially moving was the encore — soft, melancholic, and utterly captivating. Food and drinks are classic and comforting. While not the star of the show, the service is friendly and attentive, letting the music remain front and center. If you’re in NYC and crave a night of world-class jazz in a space that respects the tradition while embracing the now, Birdland is a must. Whether you’re a lifelong jazz aficionado or simply seeking an unforgettable evening, you’ll leave with your soul humming.

We are French, we came to New York as tourists and we went to Birdland to eat and attend the Jazz Bar. The staff is very welcoming, warm and smiling, they are attentive to small needs even when we don't ask them. The Jazz show was magical. The food was super good. We were delighted, 10/10. If we have the opportunity to return to New York, we will definitely come back here.

Visiting Birdland jazz Club is a must for jazz lovers who visit NY. They have a website to plan ahead of your visit, and yes, I recommend purchasing tickets in advance. The food was great and not costly. It's a small jazz club with historical significance. Short walk from Time's Square.

Google
Good acoustics, prompt and friendly service. Ordered cold cuts and cheese plate and drinks. Spacious. Very cool big band Vince Giordano and Nighthawks. Me and my son enjoyed this show. Will be back. Thanks.

Google
We got tickets to see the Wycliffe Gordon Quintet, and the whole experience was wonderful—from the food and drinks to the performance. We got there right at 5:30 when the doors opened, which gave us time to sit down and have dinner (we had the riganotti and meatballs, cheese pizza, and fries). The food was actually pretty good with great service! By the time the performance started, we were already on dessert and just enjoying the vibe. Getting there early also meant we got front-row seats, which made it even better. Definitely recommend for a date night! Tickets were about $30 per person, and there’s a $20 minimum order per person for food and drinks.

Yelp
Amazing place with impeccable ambiance! Bought tickets the night before and waited in line with my tickets about 20 minutes before the show started. We quickly got seated by the server (first come, first serve seating arrangement) and began to order food and drinks. Although the food was quick to come out, it was more on the basic side.. but I assumed the logic is 'you come for the jazz/show, not the food.' Drinks were fairly priced and servers were attentive. Would definitely come back again as it was hard to find a place that served some light bites yet still being able to enjoy a great show! Show lasted about an hour and a half.

Yelp
I came here twice - once to the upstairs club and once to the downstairs theater - on my vacation. It was superb. They seat incomplete parties and their tables have ample room - both unlike some clubs I know. The sound in both rooms is excellent. The food is good, though I wish that they would cut back on the Cajun items. The waitstaff is friendly, with the sense to wait until the show is done before closing out orders. The staff that manages the lines at the door is kind and efficient. Birdland is a must stop if you like good jazz.

Yelp
First off, you come here for the jazz not the food, but that's not surprising. Truly amazing and talented musicians. Cozy place-- great for date night, or just to enjoy jazz. Acoustics were great where we were sitting. I imagine it was built to be great everywhere you sit. We had the risotto, guac, and chips with salsa. It was all average and fine. The salsa was a little bland but there's a $20 minimum per person there (this is not including the ticket price to enter) so we just ordered it. Again, it's a music venue and as that it's super.

Yelp
We were visiting New York City and got tickets to a show at Birdland. The evening exceeded our expectations. Here's why... - The show was great...but that's very dependent on the performer, I'm sure. The place is so intimate...I don't think that there is a bad seat in the place. - We were surprised at how reasonable the food menu prices were. We decided to stick with bar food because we were a bit skeptical of how good the other entrees would be at a place that isn't focused on being a restaurant. While we enjoyed our meal, after seeing the food other people around us were getting (including how big the portion sizes were), we decided that we had made a tactical error and would order differently next time. - Having said that, the fries were incredible...very addicting! The sliders were good but ordinary. The plantain chips and guac was excellent. - Service was really great too. Bottom line: Next time we're in New York, Birdland will be on our list of places to get back to and we'll be ordering some of those yummy looking entrees!

Julie H.

Yelp
Great venue for jazz: it's intimate and the food is good too. We arrived early and all the seats are good. We had time to enjoy a leisurely dinner. Our server was friendly and helpful.

Yelp
My words are not going to be enough to describe how good Birdland is with everything, but I'll try in any case. Tickets cost between $30-50 per person plus a $20 minimum for food/drinks. Be sure to reach early to get the best tables. That being said, the ambiance at Birdland is so cozy and warm. All the performers interact with the crowd and are so nice. Most venues like these don't bother much with their food options but Birdland seems to really care. We had had a long and tiring day and requested for hot waters as we were sat down, and they were quick to bring them to us. We tried the chicken panini, margherita pizza and the tiramisu from their dinner menu. The food was some of the best I've had in NYC. I think what makes this place very special is the performers and the service staff. They really made sure we were well taken care of. If you're spending a night in NYC, this is an absolute must try experience!

Yelp
We came for the music and weren't disappointed! In the jazz theater, the ambiance was great, not super loud, and the crowd was great! We went to see Stella Cole during her weekend residency here and we loved the set. We sat at the bar and the staff members were attentive and courteous. They even shook the drinks on beat with the music during the show to not cause any distractions! The food was decent, but what shocked us the most was the portion sizes - ginormous compared to what you would expect in the city! Safe to say, we were happy. We got the cheese platter, which came with a variety of cheese, fruit, crackers, nuts and other dried fruit. We also got the pork belly and rigatoni with meatballs. Amazing vibes thanks to the show, staff, audience, and food! Looking forward to seeing other performances here.

Yelp
We visited Birdland on a Sunday night to see a performance at 5:30 and it did not disappoint! We paid for tickets ahead of time, which I would recommend because the place was definitely full. I had high expectations for the performance and moderate to low expectations for the food but I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed everything I ate + an amazing performance! The space was large, and exactly the vibe we were looking for. Before the performance it felt fun and casual and everyone was very respectful of the musicians while they were playing. We were hungry so we ordered drinks and food. Our server was very friendly and made recommendations. We got to start the mussels and soup of the day and both were great. For our mains we got the Gumbo which was flavorful and the seafood felt fresh. We also got the Rigatoni and Meatballs and it was also a pretty big portion. Note there is a minimum spend on top of the tickets but their website is super helpful to plan a trip. I plan to bring friend from out of town here in the future.

Yelp
I watched the owner, a white bald old man, inappropriately touch 3 of the female servers.... they looked visibly uncomfortable. As a regular, I noticed the owner is dating the 23 year old manager, this isn't the same manager I used to see 5 years ago, I only bring this up because I had an issue with my food, I asked to speak with the manager and this 23 year old girl came up to me with the owner and they were flirting with each other while debating if they should discount my item. I was also there when a bartender said he was sick, and then passed out... he wasn't allowed to leave until the ambulance came for him... that's how overworked he was. the food is mediocre and doesn't have any seasoning. drinks are watered down. I use to frequent this establishment twice every year for 10 years. but after looking at the mess of management, I've decided to take my business elsewhere.

Yelp
Went to the *iconic* Birdland to catch their Christmas Holiday show. The show was very good; you can tell the entertainers are absolute professionals having made their career of it. I do recommend watching a show there. The food was Ok, they're doing both: running a stage show and feeding you while you're being entertained, so it's perhaps a (culinary) compromise: food was Ok. Service was very fast and professional - great job servers. The ambiance is overall good. I'd say the show / entertainment was *great* - go for that, but perhaps dine elsewhere before or after. Be sure to check their calendar when you plan to go for a show - there's a lot on offer.

Yelp
A little out of my area but you might be here. Im here to see a Jazz artist so here you go. To start out with the wings that were among the best l have had, l had the ceaser salad which was also good. First time having pork belly which again, was a surprise and something l would never order on my own. Stole a few from another persons plate. Yum! The club was crowded but spaced out nicely. Full menu. Drinks a little pricey but good as well. Well worth the train ride up to the Apple. I have now visited both NY jazz clubs, the other The Blue Note. If you are into Jazz check out the websites to see if there is anyone you would drive up to see. Tickets were only 50 bucks. 20 dollar cover. 2 drinks alone would crush that. One warning if. You go by train the last one back has a 3 hour layover in Philly! So you don't get back until 6am. The guys l was with hated the bus and opted to go on the train anyway. You could spend the night across the street at a Marriott and leave the next morning. However the train is competitive in price with the bus if you get an afternoon and later time. And the hotel will double the cost of going plus higher fare on a next morning train

Yelp
Always nice service. The food doesn't disappoint either. We are here for the music of course so I would say no bad seats in the house really accept deep in the bar if you really want to watch might be seem bad to you.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to get into a sold out show and it was amazing!! The ambiance and the candle lit dinner vibes made this a very romantic and memorable experience with my partner. If you can get into a show I strongly recommend that you go!
google avatar

Jerry R.

Yelp
Nice big space with all seats/chairs having a good view of stage. Relaxed atmosphere. Great music. Staff is okay at best. Drinks were below average. Food wasn't great. Prices fair. Will return for the comfortable seating and great music. Not the food and drinks.

Yelp
Birdland NYC is a jazz lover's dream, and I've been lucky enough to visit more than three times. I waited a long time to write this review, and trust me, I'm not getting paid a dime--this place is just that special. This is where jazz legends like Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Count Basie, and even contemporary greats like Michael Olatuja @michaelolatuja have played. The energy here is pure magic. This isn't just a jazz club; this is New York City at its finest. If you love jazz, Birdland belongs on your bucket list. If I ever moved back to NYC, Birdland would be one of the biggest reasons why. Too bad the Northeast is so expensive now--guess it'll have to stay a dream.

Yelp
What a great night out. Went for a set last night. Our first time to Birdland and for sure not our last. Loved the table seating. It's great to have a spot to grab a late dinner and listen to some fantastic live music. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Service was great, food wasn't the best but music and performance were outstanding. Our Cajun fries was cold. Everything else is good.

Yelp
Terrible, service, hospitality in general !! Drinks are mediocre and poor !! Food overpriced! Not Mexican at all !!

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere and people at our neighboring table:). Emmet Cohen Trio was fantastic - hope to see them again!

Yelp
Amazing venue. Clean, well run. Our waitress was lovely. Got to sit 20 feet away from the band. Great acoustics. Prices for food, wine and cocktails were reasonable. The food is above average for this kind of place. Lovely, intimate club. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Eric S.

Yelp
My daughter and I went to see the Birdland Big Band perform here while we visited New York. The show was fabulous and fun. The food was awesome. I had the gumbo and my daughter a burger. The service was also excellent. I hope to include this place whenever I visit New York.

Yelp
I went to Birdland on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend to hear Miki Yamanaka. I had seen her once before at The Ravenscroft in Scottsdale, AZ and was impressed by her talent, style and sense of humor. It was a great show, as expected. I didn't realize Birdland was right downtown, so my impression was that I was amongst a bunch of tourists, vs. NYC jazz enthusiasts, but I didn't actually talk to anyone except Sarah, my server and briefly to Miki Y to say hello. So I don't know if that's true. Just about every seat is a good one. I got the Chicken Panini which I thought was really good and I'm a super picky eater. The salmon on arugula looked good...I saw it on its way to another table. I'll probably try that next time. Sarah overheard me telling Miki that I was from AZ and as it happens she's from AZ. She moved to NY to pursue acting dreams and because her boyfriend was here. When she talked about her boyfriend, she had a very wistful, loving look about her. I found that especially endearing. Jazz is all about romance and living in the moment. And it was so sweet to witness her youthful, optimistic demeanor...an unexpected bonus of the evening.

Yelp
Wonderful venue featuring so many terrific talents on their stages. I so enjoyed Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks on my visit here! Service was terrific and staff were very kind. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Nour M.

Yelp
The music is great here intimate atmosphere. Casual smart dress. Food is good. Convenient location. Love the jazz.
google avatar

Bella M.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich was actually really filling and decent, it wasn't amazing and yes the food is overpriced for what it is- but you really don't come for the food, you come for the music. Fries were crunchy and perfectly adequate. My drink was decent too, I enjoyed the margarita I had. Sound quality was excellent, I went to see the Mike Stern band featuring Victor Wooten and the show was really great. Will definitely be back to Birdland again and keep an eye on the lineup, this is a club with a lot of history. Such a cool spot
google avatar

Grace J.

Yelp
AMAZING! Will be coming back every chance I'm in New York City. Jazz was fantastic, seating had such an intimate vibe, and honestly the whole ambiance was so beautiful and the perfect way to spend a Saturday night w a date or someone you love. Dim, every table has a little candle, people are dressed nice, etc. The food was also okay, overpriced but you need to spend a $20 minimum while you're there. Got a gin and tonic and two desserts. The drink was perfect and both desserts tasted good too! Service was attentive. Overall I loved it and can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Donald T.

Yelp
Was looking for a jazz club while in the city and found this place completely by accident. The group that was playing was amazing! The bar was chill, sultry, and smooth matching the band that was playing perfectly. There was a fee of $40 for entry when the band is playing, and a $20 food or drink minimum. The servers were very attentive and the drinks we ordered were made rather well but we didn't get any food. The place is also pretty quaint, but comfortable. I'd definitely return pending the music playing at the time.
google avatar

London C.

Yelp
Super cool and historic spot! The service was incredible. We got a bottle of Prosecco for $50 and some desserts. There is a table minimum so be expected to pay that. I wouldn't recommend for a spot where you are wanting to chat with each other since it's recommended to keep chatting to a minimum. Great music on the night we went! Looking forward to going back.
google avatar

H M.

Yelp
It has the name of the historic, legendary jazz club that was truly the jazz corner of the world featuring jazz greats like Charlie "Bird" Parker and Bud Powell. Times have changed and it seems to attract tourists more than jazz fans. I am still glad it exists and the lower level tries to keep its legacy alive.
google avatar

Chen M.

Yelp
It was nice for a visit in the restaurant district. Was not busy and the happy hour was going on. It did not cover top shelf liquor. The chicken was dry but the food presentation was nice. Good if you're in the area looking for a bite but not a place I would go back too when visiting. The decor is cute but a smaller space. Priced right too for the area
google avatar

Yelp
I love Birdland! I think this is one of the most underrated experiences that you can have in NYC. We came at around 6:30 to watch a 7pm show and unfortunately did not get great seats because the doors open at 5:30 and people do come earlier to enjoy the atmosphere and the $20 minimum food. Also, it's first come first serve for seating so if you want to get a good spot, do come earlier. The jazz music is always wonderful, as Birdland brings a wide variety of musicians to play both commercial and experimental music. I recently saw Alex Taratino Quartet which was wonderful, especially Joe Block on the piano. It's interesting on depending where you are in the room, you'll hear certain instruments more. But beyond that, the food at Birdland is surprisingly good as well so you don't feel too bad paying the $20/person food & beverage minimum. Last time we were here, we ordered: - Cajun Jambalaya - I'm not even going to lie, this is one of the best jambalaya I've had. The rice dish was very saucy and full of seafood and chicken. The flavors were also spot on and seasoned incredibly well. Happy to spend $30 on this jambalaya at any restaurant. - Guacamole - Anytime I have to order guacamole at a restaurant I always feel bad about myself because it's something that I could easily make at home. Well, this guacamole, although wasn't too special, was still quite good and I love that they use plantain chips as the dippers. Overall, I always have such a great experience at Birdland and I'm excited to continue coming here for the years to come.

Oscar M.

Yelp
Great venue with excellent sound and sightings. I had avoided the place in the past, because as a local I tend to avoid Times Square. But the place is really a good time.
google avatar

Nicole T.

Yelp
We had a great experience at Birdland! Here's what I wish I knew before I went: (1) You can purchase tickets online, and save yourself the wait or being sold a more expensive table at the door (2) Even if you buy a ticket, I still recommend getting into line early because all seating is first come first serve. We were one of the last bar seating folks to arrive and your view may be blocked by the bar (3) The area is not the best, so some crazies might be on the street (4) Theres a $20 min spend per ticket so you can get a food, drink or both. Food is not amazing, but your definitely there for the music (5) They have to go boxes if you don't finish the food (6) the show is a little under an hour! The staff is attentive and the music is enjoyable. We would come back!
google avatar

Carol H.

Yelp
Had some friends in town and wanted to have a night in the city with jazz. Birdland Jazz was a great choice! The atmosphere, drinks and menu suited everyone. Vince Giordano and the Nighthawk's put on a great show! Very entertaining and musicianship was outstanding! GO, you'll have fun! PS - l would feel fine going solo.

Yelp
Husband and I visited the early Saturday dinner and it was an excellent show. The venue was intimidate, ambience was sophisticated, and the food was what'd you expect from a jazz club - not great but also not bad! We saw Eric Comstock (piano&voice), Sean Smith(bass), and special guest singer Barbara Fasano. The music felt like a love story to manhattan and but also self discovery, with a hint of old New York in the commentary and lyrics. Eric was great with the vocal but also very interesting commentaries in between. The show had a great flow and captivated us for the entire 1.5 hours. There is a ticket to get into the venue, $40pp, and a $20pp food/drink minimum. We thought the price was worth for the night as it was a truly unique. We ordered an impossible burger, fried calamari, and artichoke dip. The calamari surprised me because it was pretty good, tender on the inside and crispy on the out. They also had one sauce for the calamari that was delicious! The service was quick and efficient, so overall we had a wonderful date night!

Yelp
I flew to Long Island to visit family Last weekend and I can confidently say this was the highlight of my trip! I had one night in NYC and was struggling to find places. I am a Jazz fan and even play Jazz Vibraphone so I was set on looking for a Jazz Club. It turned out that I didn't plan enough ahead and ended up with one option: Birdland at 10:30. Tickets were 40 Dollars plus a 20-dollar minimum for food or drink. I suggest calling ahead as they were sold out even a half hour before the start of the set. I originally reserved 2 tickets but had no problem changing to 1. It is first come first serve for tables so plan on arriving 30 minutes early as the line gets long. I saw the Delfeayo Marsalis Uptown Jazz Orchestra and I was glad I did! the band was wonderful and I even got to talk to the musicians afterward! This was definitely the highlight of the evening. As for the food, it was mediocre. I ordered a burger and a slice of pie. I was so engulfed by the music I didn't take any pictures of the food. Overall this was a wonderful night and a great way to experience what an NYC Jazz club is really like! I also loved the location as being next to times square was very nice. 5 Stars!!

Yelp
Fun Friday evening stop #1 for a NYC reunion of six fun-loving women. We just loved the Friday 5:30 Birdland Band show. Great talents on the stage. We ordered online table tickets ahead of time and our seats were great. $20 minimum per person. My tip would be to just get drinks there, as I thought the food, even the appetizers, were mediocre. Wait to eat somewhere fine later! But the wonderful music and fun vibe of Birdland deserve a five, IMHO. The band leader plays the sax. He helps you to know all the talents on the stage after they all have featured solos within the various songs. Three of the younger band members were his students at SUNY Purchase. The young trumpeter was unbelievably talented. Great piano, bass, drums, horns. A really fun outing #1 for our group who live around the country.

Yelp
Came here to see a show last minute with a friend. We were double dating. I had no idea about the quiet policy during the performance. It was kind of weird being shushed by the wait staff, and I honestly didn't think we were even talking that loud. We were on a whisper level. First time ever experiencing that. The food was really good, but I didn't appreciate that you had to spend a minimum of $20 per person. We had already spent $35 for each ticket to get in. Some of their menu items were over $20 so it was easy to spend that much, but if we just wanted to order a drink or two for each person and get an appetizer to split then it wouldn't have worked out. The performance was really spectacular and I definitely would come here again, but perhaps just on a date with my husband. I could get onboard with just a quiet night out just the two of us. Not a good choice for if you are meeting up with friends that you haven't seen in a while.

Yelp
Birdland is the perfect Jazzclub! Great ambiance and good food. Plus the location is great midtown.

Yelp
Had such a great time! Excellent service. Wonderful entertainment! You never know who will show up. Some of the most talented Broadway performers and rising stars! Susie Mosher is fantastic!

Yelp
Food was really good here. Service was super super good and quick I was shocked. Ambiance was also so nice it was cozy in there but a little tight.

Yelp
I came here for a birthday dinner for two. We had tickets for the 8:30 show. If you are picky about seating, I recommend coming quite early. We arrived right on time and the tables were already filled with people. We had the option to sit in the middle section at the table farthest from the stage or closer to the stage, but with a side view. We opted for the middle section. Even though we were farther back, we still had a great view. The tables were quite close to one another so it made for a cozy environment. For food, the venue offered Southern and Cajun inspired fare. The menu was not very vegetarian friendly. There was a $20 minimum per person. I ordered the mac and cheese. The portion size was a bit on the small side. The breadcrumbs on top gave the dish a nice crunchy texture. Otherwise, it was nothing special. It had decent flavor, but wasn't very cheesy at all. My boyfriend got the baby back ribs and said they were tasty. They came with collard greens and potatoes. We also shared a bottle of wine. The show for the evening was the Big Chief Donald Harrison Quartet. They were fantastic. Each musician was clearly a master of his craft and played with passion. I was very impressed that Donald Harrison sang and played the saxophone and bongo drums. The band covered hits from several esteemed jazz artists. This venue has a strict quiet policy during performances. The staff will shush your table if they hear any talking above the music. There was another seating at 10:30 so they rushed us out at the end of the show so they could prepare the tables. Even though the set was great, it felt very short. I think the musicians only played about 5 songs before they had to wrap up. I would've liked more time to truly savor the experience. Given the iconic renown of this venue, I recommend it for a special occasion. You can find less formal places to enjoy great jazz elsewhere in the city, but this place is still worth it for the history.

Yelp
So our food was actually good. Our server the best. We are from out of town and staying at the amazing Intercontinental across the street and my father wanted to go this historic jazz bar and restaurant. I go to the website and read that line up to find wow the show is free 0.00 when we look to see price of show. we re happy and decide to go for dinner. I ask at the door about ticket / dinner costs. The host states it's is 35 per person OR 20 dollar food beverage minimum per person. We were eating dinner or food totaled over 20 per. when we get the bill they give in a completely dark establishment to find they Charged both a ticket price for the 4 of us and the cost of dinner When we spoke to the "managers" they stated it was a website error a 3 party that they Admitted needed be changed to reflect something more accurat. actually at first she tried to get testy and tell me everything was correct I asked her to show me as I showed her my phone. Then she backtracked to the truth. The price for entry dis say 0.00 and management would work to change it. But they didn't not take the 140 off of our bill which would have been an easy fix and shown some integrity and customer service. Now e just have to go through American Express however not At all what I expected from a historic establishment The young managers were frazzled and not helpful and also admitted others have had this issue based on reading their website

Yelp
Recently came here to see Monty Alexander and was not disappointed with any part of my experience! His performance was delightful and accompanied by a wonderful dinner! To be quite honest, I didn't know what to expect of the food though the menu looked promising. From the appetizers (fried shrimp and cheese plate especially) to the very delicious entrees (listed below) this place can satisfy any respectable palate. All were very enjoyable, but listed according to my preference: 1. Penne 2. Cajun Jambalaya 3. Seafood Gumbo 4. Cavatappi Primavera

Yelp
1) the venue is sexy as hell 2) the lines go SO FAST and everyone in it is hot 3) Isabella the host was, hands down, the best pre-show show and I used to work on cruise ships . She was able to convince my date (who was on the fence) to come inside AND upgrade our seats. We're both super happy. 6 out of 5 stars.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time at Birdland. It was our first time at a jazz club, and we were impressed. We arrived about 30 minutes early, and were able to get a good table. Bill O'Connell and the Latin Jazz Sextet performed, and they were very talented. We ordered a bottle of carbernet for the night, as well as some food. The popcorn shrimp was okay, nothing to rave about. I thought the fruit and cheese platter paired really well with the wine and the crackers in it were tasty. Service was attentive and we were checked on numerous times throughout the night. The total cost was pretty expensive, but it was worth the splurge for me. The ambience here is romantic and classy, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
We were expecting great jazz but the food was amazing. The service was good but it was odd our original server left during the middle of the shift. Highly recommend and would go back again.

Yelp
First off, you'll find this Jazz staple on 4;th street in Hell's Kitchen where sidewalk work is going on and past the steel braces. My party of 8 was staying nearby and walked in just in time for the 2200 showing. This place easily sits about 80 by the looks of the packed house tonight. $40 entry fee and $20 minimum purchase per person, per set to be paid before you leave. Wonderful ambiance and skilled talent of Bill Charlap and Roy Carter made me want a cigar and simultaneous foot rub. The food is delicious, the drinks tasty.
