The 14 Best Breakfast Spots In New Orleans 2024

"We love the spicy margaritas and other cocktails at Birdy’s, but love ordering bottomless mimosas and sharing plates with our friends just as much. Thanks to our math teachers, we know that if bottomless mimosas are $22 and individual mimosas are $9, we’re simply losing money if we don’t do the bottomless option. More importantly, Birdy's is just a fun spot for things like their brunch board with teeny-weeny Homer Simpson donuts, pancakes, and cookies, as well as soft-boiled eggs, fresh greens, and prosciutto. The dining room has the usual pink neon lights, and the covered patio with turf flooring is an equally great place to take down a chicken thigh biscuit or pulled pork benedict." - megan braden perry

Where To Eat & Drink During Mardi Gras 2024

"You’ll probably have to walk past Carnival food trucks, rows of people screaming for beads, and in front of (but please never through) a middle school marching band to get to Birdy’s. But being in the Lower Garden District, they’re just far enough off the Uptown parade route that it feels like a Mardi Gras party without being too chaotic. The brunch board is your order here—a spread that combines sweet and savory things like pancakes and donuts that can fit in the palm of your hand, soft-baked chocolate chip cookies, ube waffles, soft-boiled eggs, bacon, and prosciutto. There’s a common New Orleans saying, “you can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning.” So kick off the marathon with a king cake martini, complete with a purple, green, and gold sugar sprinkle rim, and the iconic plastic king cake baby." - megan braden perry

First and foremost, The atmosphere an overall aesthetic of the establishment Is gorgeous. Greeted by a handsome gentleman at the door who was very friendly and accommodating when asked to be seated outside. When first at a table, that seating was not necessarily the right fit for me we asked to move and was graciously obliged, and seats were switched. We were served by 4 to 5 different waitresses no names needed as everyone we saw was friendly, courteous, polite, and a gem. Bottomless mimosa worth every penny our cups runneth over as they were never empty! I mentioned that my birthday was tomorrow And before I knew it, I had my own coffee espresso birthday Sunday. It was so sweet of them to just think of me I will mention it was a Monday mid morning. We do believe the manager/owner approached us about enjoying our meal which we were ending. She was very sweet and very attentive. The food was phenomenal and the portion size is very generous, especially at the price point. I had their pork bagel and my friend had their burger which was delicious with healthy options of a side salad and a fruit cup. We did take our leftovers home. I recommend Birdy’s to anyone who wants a brunch experience with that authentic, New Orleans, hospitality and friendliness that the city is known for, Birdy’s on magazine Street is for you! I would be remiss to not mention the coffee, top notch and delicious well prepared with bold flavors Delicious with several different varieties and versions to try. Thank you Birdy’s for giving me a memorable experience on a Monday morning ! 🩷 Bathrooms were extremely clean and unexpectedly aesthetically pleasing great job!

Birdy’s is one of my go-to brunch spots! We recently went on a weekday and were seated right away, but I’d definitely make a reservation for peak brunch times. The avocado toast is a favorite, the burger is great, and while I wasn’t into the burrata toast, the rest of what we have tried has been solid. The outdoor seating feels like a little escape from the city. Fun place for groups and always great service!

Google
We stopped at Birdy’s for brunch after a long weekend in NOLA. I would skip this place - the wait was long, both to sit down and to get our food. The atmosphere is fine but definitely not local at all. The wait staff was very friendly but the amount of time it took to get our food was unacceptable. The other half of our group ate at a different table and were done eating when we got our food. No explanation or apology from them. I got a steak and Caesar salad to eat that was fine but not worth the $28 it cost. Same applies to the King Cake Cinnamon Bun. There are better spots nearby. Skip this one

I had a great first experience at Birdy’s this Sunday afternoon! I sat at a two top outside and there was no wait despite how busy it was. The atmosphere and service were lively and inviting. The food was good and overall had a nice flavor. The prices reflect the area though. I will definitely be back! I want to try the espresso martini and the grilled hanger steak ceasar salad next time.

Had such an amazing time at Birdy’s NOLA! The food was absolutely fantastic — every dish we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. We tried the French toast, strawberry waffle, avocado toast, coffee, matcha, and Vietnamese iced coffee, and everything exceeded expectations. The flavors were fresh, vibrant, and so satisfying. The service was great — friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. Plus, the atmosphere at Birdy’s is just awesome — lively, bright, and full of good vibes. If you’re looking for a perfect brunch or coffee spot in New Orleans, Birdy’s NOLA is a must-visit.

Google
The waitstaff was friendly but the food took a long time to come out, poached eggs were overdone, and overall felt underseasoned. The Blue Bird cocktail was very good though, I would recommend it as someone who doesn’t like gin.

This is a wonderfully relaxed spot where you can feel at ease. The staff is genuinely attentive and caring, ensuring you have a great experience. The food is delicious, adding to the inviting atmosphere.

The brunch board was delicious, even accommodated a scrambled egg instead of soft boiled. Was sat right by kitchen server station, so that was not nice. There were plenty of better seats available, but oh well.

Yelp
We arrived to this restaurant around 9am on a Sunday. Our waitress was great and super attentive. We took a quick photo in front of the birdy's sign and the waitress was so nice about it and actually took a really great photo. I ordered the fried chicken biscuit and it was excellent. So tasty and well seasoned. The biscuit part of the sandwich was like mini biscuits split in half, so don't expect to be able to pick your chicken biscuit up to take a bite out of it. The gravy on the chicken biscuit was also excellent.

Yelp
The staff at Birdy's were very accommodating for my friend's birthday brunch. We were seated outdoors due to having a large party. There were a few fans hanging over us. We received our food pretty fast. The food was just okay. I ordered the "Classic Breakfast" and ate some of my friend's fruit bowl. The fruit bowl consisted of bananas, blueberries, and strawberries. Unfortunately, the bananas were soft and mushy. Once we received our food the service became a bit slow. Please note that the bill can be split even up to six ways for large parties. Overall, the restaurant is nice aesthetically but the food is bland. I've dined at Birdy's in 2021 and I didn't taste much of a difference in flavor. I do wish that smoothies were available as they were during my first visit because it was an extremely hot day.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here for a casual brunch without a reservation, so we were prepared to wait. We asked for a table outside and the host said yes, but it would take 20 minutes which we were fine with. After waiting the 20 minutes, the host walked us to a table inside without acknowledging our outside request till my boyfriend asked about it which was weird but whatever, we took the inside table anyway....I ordered the honey rose latte (which was actually really good) and we put in our order for two traditional breakfasts right away. We then waited for approximately 40 minutes with no food and no table touches from our server. My boyfriend and I both used to be servers, so all it takes is some Acknowledgment like "hey the kitchen's a little backed up right now" or "can I get you some more coffee while you wait" ANYTHING! It's almost like our server was avoiding us. Also it was not extremely busy, and we saw a table that came in after us get their food while we were still waiting. When we called the person that looked like the manager over to our table to pay for our coffees so we could go, we were met with no apologies, no explanations or even a simple acknowledgment of the fact that we just waited 40 minutes for some scrambled eggs and bacon. Just a simple "oh he was about to put the food out".....yea we left with empty stomachs, took our service elsewhere and will not be returning. The best thing this place has going for it is the ambiance, but I've personally had the food before and it's not anything special, you can make better brunch at home. If you want a great brunch experience with GOOD SERVICE and good food to match I would highly recommend Atchafalaya on Louisiana Ave.

Yelp
Great vibes, food and service! Loved my Bloody Mary and avocado toast. Hubby enjoyed his meal as well. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
We had an amazing time a Birdy's. 5 of us went for Sunday brunch. The accommodations were very spacious. Our server was amazing. She was very attentive and patient and gave us her recommendations on the menu items. And the best part was the food. We all loved what we had from the cocktails, to the coffee, to the food. We'll definitely be back

Yelp
Love birdys for brunch. Both of the times that I've been here I loved it. If you're going to go please make a reservation so that you're not disappointed. One of the times we got the brunch board. If you're with a group of about 4 people I highly recommend ! It consisted of bacon, proscuitto, waffle, mini donuts, mini pancakes, fruit, seasonal jam, granola with nuts, cookies, triple crème brie, soft boiled eggs. Another time we got the biscuit board. It was about 6 of us and we had a biscuit left to spare. It was very good just not enough biscuits for me. The whipped butter, and country gravy were sooo good tho! It might be worth it. I also ended up getting the goat cheese toast! It had fig, arugula and honey! Don't sleep on this! Also came with a side of tots . Eeeh I suggest you get another side. You also have the option to do bottomless mimosas and they do keep them coming! Love this spot. I will say in the summer months sitting outside might not be such a great idea.

Yelp
I saw Birdy's all over social media, and had to try it. I was very disappointed and would not return as an out of town guest. The neighborhood is off the beaten path, not much else around it. So overpriced!! My crawfish melt was $23. It was tasty but not mind blowing. The latte was good. Overall, out of the way and not spectacular food. Maybe more for locals.

Yelp
Birdies is a cute little cafe type restaurant with a pretty and bright space, perfect for a brunch date with friends. I went on a brunch date and it was a little busy that day so things were moving a little slow. However, I ordered a matcha latte and the Huevos Rancheros and it did not disappoint, especially because I was slightly hungover from partying all the previous night. (Mardi Gras) my date got the brunch board. It was also yummy, I needed the carbs. I would definitely go again!

Yelp
Visiting New Orleans be aware they are super busy so make sure you aren't hungry when you arrive. Food was good, ambience was nice, service was on point. They have covered outdoor seating if case you want to seat out in the New Orleans heat. In my opinion the latte were too sweet, but someone else might find it delicious. Can't go wrong with bottomless mimosas at brunch.

Beth P.

Yelp
Such a fun brunch spot. The drinks were great and the biscuits were some of the best we've ever had. Still dreaming of their honey butter.
google avatar

Yelp
Modern atmosphere - ideal for lunch! *Delicious* food, great service. Definitely not somewhere I would go for a date night (I don't believe they are open at night), but I would go for lunch daily if I had the opportunity!

Yelp
So this is one of my daughters favorite spots, and no it's not because of the bottomless mimosas. Birdy's has a nice trendy chic feel to it, sort of South Beach-ish. Food is amazing, the presentation is on point and the service is good. This is a place to go and hang and relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. It's set back and outta the way. To me, it's a nice spot to go with friends and family to share in conversation.

Yelp
We did brunch here for Mother's Day and it was amazing. The service was a little slow but it was a holiday so that was to be expected. We dined outside because we had a party of 5 so thats where our seats were but the weather was beautiful so it made it even better. I did get a peek inside and it was really pretty so I can't wait to go back. The food was amazing, get the brunch board...it was really good. There was a brunch menu but the options were limited. Not pictured is the Birdy's Burger, which was supposed to be smashed but it wasn't, kids chicken tenders and kids breakfast combo. We will definitely be back. Try this place if you're in the area.

Yelp
Went for a girls lunch today. We each got a drink. Got the passion fruit punch and it was a little sweeter than I expected but very good. One of the girls got the Cobb salad, one got the whipped goat cheese toast, and I got the brunch board. Everything was good but over priced for portion size. All in all will go again and do recommend.
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
Blown away by Birdy's! Every bit of everything was bursting with flavor. The salmon toast was perfection with the pickled onion and crisped capers. The side salad it comes with may look basic but wow, I actually finished that first? I also got the biscuit with jam and it may be my best biscuit to date. Paired it all with the Lavender oat Matcha and caught myself thinking of ordering another after finishing the first. Vibey little spot with inside and outside seating. Brunch was popping but not line out the door wait. 10/10!
google avatar

Yelp
I cannot believe I forgot to take photos of our food. Perhaps it was because it was so good we were distracted. Birdy is somewhat tucked away on the first floor in a charming new building with courtyard seating as well as seating indoors with enjoyable A/C. We started with the Chinola Aperol Spritz and a glass of Prosecco, which were very generous pours!!! Always a plus We then enjoyed the Kale Caesar Salad with grilled chicken and the Chicken Feta sandwich. Both were fantastic with a perfect portion size for an early lunch before shopping. I Highly recommend Birdy's for a lovely brunch with a date or a group. Enjoy!!

Yelp
Birdys behind the bower is the ultimate spot for a girls' brunch - cute, cozy, and filled with great music. I had the breakfast charcuterie and it was fantastic. The friend chicken biscuit was good but it felt like there was something missing in the sauce. The music adds a fun vibe without being too loud, and prices are reasonable. Only downside I would say is service. Both times I went I waited for quite some time for refills and checkups, and both times servers were not so friendly.
google avatar

Brooks W.

Yelp
Birdy's Behind the Bower was a very cute brunch spot off Magazine. My wife and I went for our anniversary this year. They have both inside and covered outside seating. But if you want one or the other specifically, make sure you choose the right type of table on your reservation. Ambiance was very cute. Perfect for a date or a brunch with friends. Food: Cinnamon Roll - great cinnamon roll. We got it to split (which was a good decision since it was large and we got plenty of other food). Fried Chicken Biscuit - this was an open face biscuit with chicken on top, with a sunny side egg on top of that. Overall really good, would definitely get again. Debris Hash Skillet - this was homemade tater tots, with a roast beef and some fried onions on top of that. While it was good, since my mother in law makes a good crockpot roast, I probably would not get again. Bacon - just straight forward bacon. They asked if we liked crispy or chewy bacon which I thought was thoughtful / kind of funny. Drinks: Hibiscus Margarita - 10/10 get this if you like a marg. We both agreed this was great. Frozen Lillet - 0/10 definitely would pass on this. We thought it was overpowering with its flowery aftertaste. Overall: Definitely a good option for a date / friend brunch. There are other brunch spots we like better, but the fact that you can make reservation makes this one a good alternative.

Yelp
What an eclectic and charming eatery that is airy and open with great lighting that pays homage to birds. I decided to have breakfast here & dined in, selecting to be seated outside in their beautifully coiffed patio, on this beautiful low humidity morning. The restaurant is nestled in an area of the city that appears to be part of a new face lift construction on the block. I also saw other shops surrounding the restaurant including but not limited to eyewear and a pilates studio. The food selections here have classics and also creativity of such items like polenta toast, funfetti bubble waffles and Claire's cookie cereal. I ordered the avocado toast which came with a side salad. It hit the spot. The salad had a citrusy dressing which was a nice refreshing compliment to the toast. I also ordered the Organic Horjicha Green tea which had a mild floral taste which did not overpower the green tea flavor. The overall service was just okay. The server was not that memorable and she appeared indifferent to being at work and not very personable. I would definitely patronize this restaurant again as the food was really quite tasty and I would like to try a few other items on the menu. And the decor in the bathroom was a big win for the overall experience at this lovely restaurant gem.

Yelp
This is such a cute coffee shop. We didn't get a chance to grab food here, but we stopped in for coffee and they were delicious! The place is also cute inside and out, with an outdoor seating area with plenty of space and is in walking distance to many shops and other restaurants so its perfect to start your day there!
google avatar

Yelp
Great brunch spot, although not my fave. We had the brunch board, which is great if you're with a group and need an appetizer. The breakfast items on the board were tasty and came out hot. Had the crawfish melt for an entree, and it was pretty good. Side salad was nice too. I had a Bloody Mary to drink, but it was nothing special. Tasted like spicy Heinz ketchup and water if I'm being honest. Menu says it's made with a "house mix" but it was giving V8... We also had to wait over an hour for our entrees to come. The restaurant wasn't crowded this day, and there were plenty of open tables, so not sure what the problem was. Our waitress was nice though. All that being said, I still would like to try the lunch options here though. And I would also go back to try more of their coffees and cafe items
google avatar

Blanca A.

Yelp
Birdys behind the bower is our go to when you want to have some regular breakfast that is not fried. I get the chicken breakfast bowl. We come here every time we come to NOLA.
google avatar

Yelp
A new fav!!! Breakfast/Brunch menu is great. Food is so tasty and flavorful. Love the outdoor seating, parking lot available across the street.

Yelp
Such a cute brunch spot located on Magazine St. Recently went here one random Sunday with my friend and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great drinks and menu items. I like that they have many mocktail drinks to choose from if you're not drinking alcohol. Also very nice photo options if you're into that, very cute mural right outside the bathroom. I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I asked the waiter for assistance. She recommended the Polenta toast with a fried egg, it was delicious! Its a "cripsy white cheddar polenta, buster crab (fried softshell crab), roasted poblano pepper and corn vinaigrette, queso fresco". My friend got the fried chicken biscuit, that was also very tasty. We both cleaned our plates. It's located on magazine so be prepared to pay for parking. Also, I highly recommend you make reservations. We did not and had to wait about 25 minutes.
google avatar

Imran S.

Yelp
we wanted to try something new and saw Birdy's and the menu looked nice so decided tj check it out. overall great for a casual breakfast, brunch or lunch place. also good for groups we started out with the biscuit board which were good as the biscuits weren't too big. the jam on the side was really good. we then ordered the avocado toast, the blueberry salad, the burger with tots, and the chicken feta sandwich. the avocado toast and burger and tots were great, the chicken feta sandwich was decent and the blueberry salad was good. average price per dish was $15-$20 but the portion size was big so it was a good deal. the only thing not worth that price were the biscuits which seemed pricier than what the dish was. overall a great place for brunch with good fresh tasting food in big portions
google avatar

Kaitlyn L.

Yelp
Tried out Birdys for brunch and really enjoyed it! We were seated right away since we had made a reservation prior. The waitress was really helpful and quick to get to our table! Their menu has a good variety of popular brunch dishes that is good for anyone. Even though they are very accommodating with food allergies, we did have one thing brought out to us wrong. They let us keep the incorrect dish for the table while they remade a new one. While we waited, we received a free cinnamon roll, which was really good! To eat, I got the smoked salmon toast. I really enjoyed it, but the piece of bread it came on was EXTREMELY large and drenched in oil. After every bite I took, I had oil dripping down my hands. It was way too much. The salad it came with was also not that great. I originally wanted to get huevos rancheros but they were out. I will probably be back! Also NOTE: there is a 2 hour minimum for bottomless mimosas if you decide to do that, and you also have to order an entree. Hope this helps someone!
google avatar

Jessica O.

Yelp
I feel like I need to come back to try more of their items. Our food was very good and their staff so nice. I am planning on bringing the hubs to brunch.
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
"OKAY!" Food: relatively inexpensive menu with inventive takes on breakfast. I had the bubble waffle - a no-brainer for a kid's birthday. It's more like a deconstructed sprinkle donut with crème fraiche and strawberries. A fun plate of food (See my pic). Atmosphere: bright, clean with a beautiful verdant courtyard. Birdy's is a much better dining experience than the deteriorating Surrey's 2 blocks away. PROTIP: I recommend that you dip your waffle into the syrup rather than pour it on since it's donut consistency completely sucks the sauce up to some "syrup cloud".
google avatar

Omegia F.

Yelp
Brunch @birdysnola. We enjoyed the ambiance we sat outsides there was an overcast and a little breeze. Our food was great but what was most impressive was the servers. They all had smiles on their faces and were so polite. Even when i was indecisive about my food choices they were patient, helpful and accommodating. 5service.
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
The brunch board looks so cool and intriguing, but most of the items are not food items I would normally eat. Seems like a cool and fun novelty. They have a large patio area under a tent, but it's a bit muggy outside and 77 degrees out today. The huevos rancheros looks good, but I ended up ordering the sugar roots bowl and added an egg, my husband decided on the rancheros, side of their tots (balls) and side of biscuit too, made fresh every day. $48.16. The huevos are good, simple, enhanced it some with hot sauce, smaller portion, but just the right amount. The sugar root bowl was different, not super flavorful, but it felt like a healthy alternative meal. The mustard tzatziki sauce is tasty on its own. The tator balls are nice little two bite bites of potato goodness. The side of biscuit is not too dry, flaky and light interior.
google avatar

Nancy K.

Yelp
Food was delicious... once it hit the table. Unfortunately like many other reviewers noted, the food service is slooowwww.... It took over an hour from ordering to drop and frankly, that's just not OK. Sadly, won't be back to this one.
google avatar

Julia V.

Yelp
Great for taking pictures with friends but the food certainly won't leave you begging for more. I ordered the roasted veggie bowl and the brown rice was so gritty and overcooked that I couldn't even finish it. The other flavors on the plate weren't too bad but the one true gem was the simple yet inventive beet hummus. It was smooth and creamy and added a nice touch to an otherwise sub-par meal.
google avatar

Immanuel L.

Yelp
Birdy's behind the bower is a hip brunch place, but it is not the best place to go for one the service is slow very slow both times I've been here have been very slow. Then the food it is not that amazing. Trust me it is good and very aesthetically pleasing but it's not a bang. In other news I do like the flavors put into the huevos rancheros and the debris benedict. Those 2 plates get a 5/5 all others are mediocre and could be better portioned. If service was better I would give this place a 4. Good thing this place is not as packed as other brunch places of New Orleans. Quantities could be a little bit bigger.
google avatar

Katelyn M.

Yelp
This place is definitely your trendy and hip breakfast spot. You need a reservation to get a table. We went really early and did not have a reservation but they did still seat us, though outside. It was warm enough so we didn't mind. Really cute interior. Outside was fine. Food was good. I got a biscuit sandwich which was more open face like. Chicken and waffles were gotten by the group. Everyone enjoyed their dish but probably felt like it was a tad expensive for breakfast items. Coffee not bad. They had many options. It's a cute place and I'd try it again for breakfast.

Yelp
Birdy's behind the Bower. Beautiful restaurant space, indoor and outdoor seating, clean restrooms, friendly wait staff, attentive management - what more could you want? There was an issue with one of the dishes the table ordered, which was immediately rectified by the Staff, who ended up preparing the entire dish again, and then removing the dish from the bill as well. You couldn't have asked for more, and kudos to Birdy's Manager and Staff for being so proactive. Four Stars.
google avatar

Dave S.

Yelp
We have been meaning to get over to Birdy's forever, since we heard they had a great brunch. We went over on a Saturday and sat outside, and enjoyed a killer brunch indeed. We ordered the hibiscus margarita and the Hummingbird, and the Hummingbird won for sure. Both tasty, though. As for food, we went WAY overboard. We got the debrish hash skillet, the steak mezze bowl, and the brunch board. So, the brunch board is CRAZY - huge amount of food and a really fun mix of things to snack on. If you are in a group, just get it. We loved our experience. Outr server, Dylan, was super friendly. Honestly, though - it's way overpriced. I won't take away stars for this, as the experience and food is what should be reviewed here. I doubt I'll go back, though, given that I left spending $180 for two people for Saturday brunch. Maybe just get the Brunch Board and some water? Hmmm.

Joe L.

Yelp
The food the service and the ambiance were spot on. Super great experience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I do not have any pictures because as soon as I received the food all I wanted to do was eat. The food smelled so good!!!!! We ordered the Classic Breakfast and the Birdys Burger. The food was spot on. I really liked the hash browns shaped like hush puppies. I tricked my husband into thinking they were hush puppies. We ordered take out and the service was prompt and with a smile. I will definitely add this spot to my faves in Uptown.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious! This cute hidden gem was so on point. The decor, inside & out, was so cute. The service was impeccable! Our waitress was so sweet & took her time going over the menu u. My Pomegranate Raspberry Mimosas was amazing! Will definitely be back

First time at Birdy's and it's now been added to our list for go-to brunch spots. Brunch in New Orleans - especially on a Saints game day - is a busy day. A call to Birdy's had us a table saved and a friendly greeting when we got there. A table outside with heaters and extra space for the kiddos to stand up every now and then was perfect. We started with lattes (so good) and the Brunch Board. If you have kids - ours were a big fan of the brunch board with its assortment of mini donuts, mini pancakes, bacon and waffles. I was trying to eat on the lighter side for the drive back home and ordered the BLT. It was delicious! However, my brother's fried chicken biscuit looked amazing and will be on my list for next time.

Yelp
This is my go-to brunch spot when coming into Nola. Service is great, and the outdoor patio isn't too bad if you get there early enough during the summer. You gotta go on the weekends to get the brunch board selections to go along with your brunch dishes listed below. Salmon toast mixes the sweet and savory for me and I love the grapefruit it came with it and the ikura. The house made tots are scrumptious and still maintain its crisp with the hollandaise and slow roasted beef on top. Give this place a try!

Yelp
We loved this place!!! We had a girls weekend and we were within walking distance. We met the manager of Birdy, at The Bower. (They are owned by the same company) Can I say, she was just the sweetest person ever. She invited us to breakfast here. I'm so glad she did. It is soooo cute inside. Clean and organized. We were seated quickly and brought a complimentary cinnamon roll. (She remembered us from The Bower) ooohhhh my gosh it was huge and delicious!! My breakfast was soo good and they make an extraordinary cappuccino. Everything was so fresh. We all agreed, this place is going to be on repeat.

Yelp
Stopped in based on Yelp reviews and a local fiend's recommendation. The service is friendly. The setting is quaint. And the food was great. I had the breakfast with tots and my husband enjoyed the smoked trout croissant. It was all incredible.

Yelp
The best part was to-go mimosas, s/o New Orleans! But the food portions and price was not equivalent. I paid about $7 for 2 tiny turkey sausage links. Also the French toast was not as tasty as it looks. The Server (s) was super nice and friendly and the location was close to where we needed to be with many photo opportunities! maybe I'll visit again when I'm in the area again for the good vibes and tasty mimosas

Yelp
The atmosphere of the place is nice and the place is cute. They have seating inside and outside. The outside area looked nice and shady, would be good in cooler weather. I had the eggs breakfast sandwich that allows for two eggs any way, which I was hoping they'd do poached but our server said it wouldn't really work. I got them over easy and the sandwich was pretty good. It was a good place to go have brunch with a friend and I'd be interested in coming back another time to see what else is good on their menu. Pretty place and definite worth coming back!

Yelp
Change is good - off to New Orleans I found myself! Birdy's was the perfect place for brunch before catching my flight back to DFW. The coffee was great, the portions were incredible and the vibe was immaculate! Our service was a tad slow, but can be attributed to the business of the restaurant on a Sunday morning. The entrees were seasoned well, and our server was very knowledgeable of the menu which helped us make informed brunch decisions. Definitely would dine again!

Yelp
Food exceeded expectations. I shared the fried chicken and the carnival French toast with my friend and it's the best food I've had in New Orleans. The staff are incredibly kind and friendly. Environment is perfect for brunch. Would recommend to everyone.

Yelp
Birdy's is such a cute brunch spot! My friend and fellow Yelper Daezah B. made a reservation for two outdoor seating via OpenTable upon arrival our outside seating preferences was not honored, nonetheless the dining area caused for an indoor sunglasses moment. Everything tasted good and the cookie cereal was a real treat. Our server was a bit delayed on the mimosas and coffee refills and "turtle slow" on the food. Extra plus for the mock-tail selections. Parking Tip! The lot directly across from the restaurant uses Premium Parking for 2 hours, I paid $2.59. No hassle, no fuss.

Yelp
So I've been curious about this new fangled development on Magazine Street and I've seen some decent crowds at night at the Bower restaurant but I've still not been a customer of anything here yet. So I decided to finally give this area a try when I had some time for lunch at Birdy's Behind the Bower. This is a very interesting space where it seems Birdy's Behind the Bower and the Bower have a shared patio space with Birdy's operating at lunch and the Bower operating at dinner. I'm not sure if these two spots share the same owners or not but they certainly seem to be joined at the hip quite literally with their setup. On entering Birdy's I found it to be rather bright with plenty of natural light coming in and while the overall tone of the interior of Birdy's was a more neutral white overall they had a LOT of very bright decorations up which added quite a lot of vibrant colors around the space. On perusing the menu I decided to sample their Birdie's Burger which was served on a brioche bun with a side salad. So I started with the salad and it was absolutely fantastic and one of the best salads I've ever had in my life! The burger I had high hopes for after the salad but unfortunately the burger meat seemed overcooked and on the dry side while the brioche bun just didn't seem up to the task of containing the burger resulting in poor structural integrity. Sadly there was not enough power in the warp engine for Scotty to save the sagging bun in this case she had some major distortion of the lower portion of the bun ensue and the melted cheese had grown cold and solid so there wasn't any ooey gooey cheese plasma left at all to assist with maintaining structural cohesion. There was some partial warp core breaching in this burger with portions of the bun separating while I was able to save most of it to be appropriately destroyed in my mouth. After that experience I would have to say there is potential in that burger but it definitely needs some changes in the engineering. The meat cooking method and bun certainly seem to need some adjusting. Overall I really enjoyed the salad, the burger was in need of improvement and service never re-filled my iced tea so that was unacceptable. My desire to return to Birdy's Behind the Bower is mostly weak unless I'm in a salad mood and then I would certainly consider it.
