Tacos, burritos & other Mexican favorites in a busy, family-run joint with homemade tortillas.
"Operating outside of a grocery store in North Hills (they’re also in Van Nuys and Noho now), San Marcos is a taco truck serving birria that people rightfully wait in line for hours to eat. The crunchy quesataco is a cheesy, salty masterpiece that’ll instantly cure your brain fog after a long night out. If you’re in the mood for just birria though, go for the birria en caldo, a hearty stew filled with a spicy broth, onion, cilantro, and slow-cooked beef for a somewhat balanced breakfast." - Brant Cox
"As you might've guessed from the logo's cute smiley cow, this local mini-chain specializes in beef birria—specifically Jalisco-style. That means traditional birria en su jugo is on the menu, a perfectly salted, just-spicy-enough soup full of juicy, shredded beef to get the cogs in your brain moving on a Saturday morning. The rest of the menu at this Van Nuys window, however, leans more Tijuana-style, like crispy cheese-lined quesatacos with a side of consommé for dunking. San Marcos consistently nails the ratios of meat, cheese, and oil in every order, which is why it's a reliable go-to every time we're nearby. " - Sylvio Martins

"Operating outside of a Food 4 Less in North Hills, San Marcos is a taco truck serving fantastic beef birria tacos that people wait in line for hours to eat. These are the kind of cheesy, greasy tacos that are ideal for those foggy Sunday mornings when you need something to soak up the regret from last night. We usually order a few regular tacos, one taco dorado (crunchy shell), and a giant queso-taco for the grand finale. That said, whatever you decide to do, make sure to get a consomé as well - it’s one of the best versions in town and perfect for dipping your tacos into. Cash only." - brant cox
