"Eritrean food has had lots of hallmarks of zeitgeist dining for eternity: fermented flatbreads, gluten-free “ancient” grains, a large variety of small plates... Anyway, Bisha on Holloway Road serves up awaze tibsi, its lamb cubes cooked in a tomato and pepper marinade; a naytsom bebiaynetu platter served with injera, and the classic shiro, a luxuriously thick chickpea stew. Each platter of injera and its accompaniments is more vibrant than the restaurant’s interiors, about a hundred times over." - Maazin Buhari

Travelled 2 hours to try Eritrean food for the first time. Plus the 1 hour waiting time just for take away. The food portion was good but the meat wasn't cooked well enough for me and was so chewy. Then the food was drenched in oil and no real sauce to dip the injera in The Injera was very sour. My partner is Eritrean and I wanted to surprise him with the meal but he was disappointed and did not eat anything as he said he didn't like it. I travelled far because I saw a lot of good reviews.

Absolutely amazing try the vegetarian mixed platter for 1. I will be coming again for sure. A mixture of healthy flavors. Tangy, spicy, butter, sweet, all at the perfect level, not too much. My new fav.

I had a great take out experience here. Was in town for a bit of business and a bit of fun and was just getting provisions for my flat. Stopped here for a carry out order and also stopped by the shops near by. First off the food was amazing, I've had Habisha food in East Africa, in the DMV, in LA, in Chicago and Atlanta. This is one of the best orders. The lady took the time to repack all of my shopping including my groceries into a very solid bag. To me that was just above and beyond but that's the hospitality you don't receive from this side of the Atlantic. I'd highly recommend Bisha is you like Habisha food, they do not hide giving you injera and the kitfo was excellent.

Best Eritrean/Ethiopian food I’ve had yet (and I’ve had a-lot!). Great value and absolutely delicious. If you’re vegan, there is no better place to go. Friendly staff and very buzzy atmosphere. My birthday’s in two months and I’ve already told my girlfriend that we have to have my birthday dinner there. Can’t wait!

One of my favorite Eritrean restaurants never fails, especially with its generous portions. Great value for money!

Delicious food, lots of vegan and vegetarian options. The individual platter is huge and such a great price. You get to try all the different dishes, including spiced lentil dishes, different veggies, etc. Lots of injera (the bread) provided. The woman who ran the place was so kind and helpful. We also got Eritrean coffee which came with a bunch of popcorn, both delicious.

As an experienced Ethiopian and Eritrean food enjoyer Bisha doesn't disappoint. The vegetarian menu is prominently displayed in the window and you get a massive platter for less than £12. Frankly it could be enough for two people but I enjoyed it so much I took extra time to relax and eat more. Naturally I washed it down with Eritrean booze including the raki type drink called Zibib Extra which acted well as a digestif. The young lady serving was cheerful and helpful. I'll be back!
