Atlanta’s First Halal Food Festival Comes to Atlantic Station | Eater Atlanta

The Best Places To Eat On Buford Highway - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Bismillah Cafe successfully crams as many cuisines as possible into their gigantic menu. Tasty gyros in fluffy pita bread are casually listed next to a giant cheeseburger and a basket of spicy wings. But what should really be stuffed inside your styrofoam takeout container is their Indian food. All of those dishes hit the mark, from the lightly grilled naan to a spicy chatpatti soup. But if you get overwhelmed with indecision at the order counter, just try our favorite—the mixed biryani with tender chunks of lamb, chicken shawarma, and bright red rice." - nina reeder, jacinta howard, juli horsford

The Best Indian Restaurants In Atlanta

"The most impressive thing about this Buford Highway restaurant is how they successfully cram as many cuisines as possible onto their gigantic menu. When you’re craving fluffy pita bread but your partner wants a giant cheeseburger, Bismillah helps you avoid a hangry screaming match. But the Indian food (specifically their amazing curries and biryani) is their naan and butter. While there is seating inside the orange-hued restaurant, it operates primarily as a grab-and-go. Which is fine with us because we love diving into a heaping bowl of saucy butter chicken from the comfort of our couch." - juli horsford, jacinta howard, nina reeder

Bismillah Cafe - Review - Buford Highway - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Bismillah Cafe on Buford Highway successfully crams as many cuisines as possible into their gigantic menu. Tasty gyros in fluffy pita bread are casually listed next to a giant cheeseburger and a basket of spicy wings. But what should really be stuffed inside your styrofoam takeout container is Indian food. At the order counter, make sure to get our favorite—the mixed biryani with tender chunks of lamb, chicken shawarma, and bright red rice. Nothing here really misses the mark, from the lightly grilled naan to a spicy chatpatti soup that we’d eat no matter the temperature outside. Food Rundown Mixed Biryani The rice is so red, it looks like it would glow in the dark. Chunks of lamb and chicken shawarma are doused in their special green sauce that gives the whole dish a burst of cilantro and mint flavor. Cheeseburger This decently sized burger is pretty standard. The best part is the fresh-tasting green sauce (the same one that’s on the biryani) that’s drizzled on top of the lettuce and tomatoes. Gyro Thin slices of lamb with lettuce sit inside a fluffy pita. It’s not the best gyro you’ll ever have, but it’s solid enough to order again. Butter Chicken This staple of Indian cuisine is a must-order here. Large pieces of chicken are consumed by the thick, creamy sauce. It’s a really good take on a classic dish. Green Sauce You can order extra cups of this magical sauce for only 50 cents. And you should because you’ll want to put it on everything." - Juli Horsford

The Guide to Atlanta’s Best Samosas | Eater Atlanta

"A long-standing Buford Highway canteen serving both vegetable and chicken samosas, with the chicken version standing out for its moist, almost creamy ground-chicken-and-pea filling and an extremely thin, delicate triangular shell that snaps easily at the touch." - Suraj Singareddy
