20 Reliable Restaurants in Murray Hill | Eater NY

"This friendly spot has long specialized in ample gluten-free options: Since 1988, Bistango has offered extensive choices for those with celiac or gluten sensitivities, long before it became a common alternative on most menus, much less in carb-heavy Italian food. The menu dips into various regional Italian cuisines, with lots of familiar dishes like cavatelli with sausage and hot cherry peppers, four varieties of fresh ravioli, and roasted eggplant parmesan. Another location, also on the east side, is 20 blocks further uptown." - Alexandra Ilyashov

What a delightful culinary experience. The place is gorgeous and the staff was impeccable in their service orientation. The music was fun and the ambience was luxurious. My daughter and I have Celiac along with my food allergies of egg and dairy were no problem for this delightful kitchen. The food was fresh, hot, delicious, and surprisingly fast. Everyone was stuffed with great portion sizes and beautiful plating. If you are in the area, and you have food allergies, you should stop by. A++ I would highly recommend adding Bistango to your itinerary. We are leaving happy for less of a bill than I was expecting with such an upscale experience.

Google
Just excelent ! Starting with the food, the drinks, the service all was amazing. The best part is whatever request u have about the food they make it, gluten free or dairy free or nuts free, vegan vegetarian ..anything. I highly recommend this place!! Tihan was the best.

Google
Absolutely phenomenal food & service. They were very accommodating with allergies. Everything on the menu can be prepared gluten free, much if not all is gluten free anyway. They were also accommodating with alpha-gal allergy.

Google
One of the best food allergy friendly restaurants. Our server Stefan was outstanding. My son is severely allergic to milk, egg, and nuts and Stefan helped him navigate the menu. He was able to have his first pizza at a restaurant with dairy free cheese and no issues with cross contamination. The burger buns weren’t safe so Stefan brought out a baguette to have with his lettuce wrapped burger. They have safe sorbets and my son said the peach one was amazing. The rest of us really enjoyed everything we ordered too! The kale salad was one of the best salads we’ve had.

Google
The food? Delicious. The vibe? Spot on. But the service? Yikes. On what looked like a sleepy Monday night, I somehow still managed to feel invisible. I had to get up twice, once to ask for the check, then again to physically hand it over. When I finally voiced my frustration, I was met not with an apology, but with an excuse masquerading as one. It’s a shame, because the food and atmosphere deserve better. But no matter how good the meal, it’s hard to enjoy it when you have to chase down someone just to pay for it.

Google
Our party had a memorable and truly special time dining here. The waitstaff are attentive, courteous, diligent, and truly went above and beyond to ensure that our brunch was spectacular. Thank you, Stefan, for the warmth and care you brought to our table, and thank you to the hostess and the other members who made our dining experience exceptional. The food was delicious. I ordered the Bistango Benny: a must-have! Everyone enjoyed their food and were grateful to the staff and chefs!

Jackie Ruddy

Google
This was an exceptional culinary experience. We started with the Hummus, then enjoyed best margarita flatbread ever. For our entrees we chose the sqiud ink lobster ravioli and red snapper. The most delicious red snapper we’ve ever enjoyed. Topped off with an incredible lavender cake for dessert.

Jenny Bain

Google
I brought my visiting family here, half of whom are GF (myself included). Like everyone says, all the food is really good here! No compromises just because it’s gluten free. But what I’m really thankful for is the reservation ease. I couldn’t find the group size I needed on OpenTable, so I called and got a person immediately. Needed to call two more times to change the reservation to add someone / change time, and again to confirm they could accommodate a wheelchair 😂 I felt so high maintenance and they were SUPER nice about it. For that alone, 5 stars. Will definitely bring other people here because it’s, to me, in a “classic NYC” neighborhood and gives classy vibes for reasonable price point.

Yelp
I've worked in the area for over a decade and have seen the Kimberly Hotel but never have gone in. I'm glad I actually stopped by Bistango (in the hotel) when a friend invited us to. The restaurant has a nice covered outdoor section and a decent-sized indoor seating area. It would be really good for a business lunch or dinner because it's quite a spacious spot and you don't feel like the tables are on top of each other compared to some other Italian restaurants in the area. It's definitely a different vibe, but not in a bad way. The pasta selection is really good. My wife and I both enjoyed our pastas! Our friend's steak and eggs with chimicurri also looked fantastic. All in all a solid spot

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant in The Kimberly Hotel. You have your choice of elegant and beautiful seating outside in front of the hotel, you can dine in the lobby, bar, or in the actual restaurant. As you enter you will see the most marvelous fish tank which prob cost over fifty thousand to put into the hotel. Truly breathtaking even if you are foreign to the world of fish tank ownership. They brough out bread complimentary to start our meal, one was gluten free bread for my girlfriend and non-gluten free bread for me. The bread was delish and warm which they brought out with a humus which had what tasted like truffle oil in it. I started with a cab that had a healthy pour and lasted me throughout the meal. Entree was the Veal Milanese - arugula, shaved fennel, cherry tomato, Pecorino cheese, balsamic glaze. The veal was enough for at least three servings, I also ordered a side of pasta Bolognese which I devoured. Pasta was fresh and homemade, and the Bolognese sauce was expertly prepared. They put basically an entire arugula salad on top of my veal, but I am not complaining, it pairs quite well if you want veal and arugula in all yours bites you surely will be able to. My girlfriend chose the mushroom farfalle. The pasta was in a truffle oil sauce, and it tasted extremely light, pairing very well with the delicious shiitake mushrooms and asparagus. I really cannot find any faults with this restaurant selection and highly recommend if you are looking for a quality meal that will not break the bank in Midtown East Manhattan. As always people SYOY!!!

Yelp
Great place for a nice Italian dinner near our hotel a short distance from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. Food was well prepared, homemade, hot and fresh. Italian staff was warm and friendly. Highly recommended

Yelp
Came here twice within a span of a few years and happy to note the consistency in service. My friend made same day reservations and at first they didn't have anything for us but after a few minutes we were seated. Very cozy and comfortable room, elegant and quiet - the tables were well spaced. Service was incredible- warm, kind accommodating and super classy. Crispy bread to start with a delightful garlic and lemon dip. My friend ordered spaghetti and meatballs - not on the menu but the waiter was eager to oblige- she loved it. I ordered the Saffron Pasta - no butter, extra cheese - very delicious but not super filling. I wished the pieces of broccoli robe were bigger. We both ordered a cocktail - the spiked cider - also good very sweet and delightful!

Yelp
I came here with my brother and his wife in mid-October. The menu is accommodating to everyone and I was able to order a lower carb meal featuring chicken breast, which was bone in and very moist, mushrooms, and cauliflower. It was delicious. My brother ordered the lobster ravioli and said it was amazing. They also have a great wine menu and the Barbera was especially good. The service was perfect and even they were crowded we could hold a conversation.

Yelp
Service, including the hostess, was warm and attentive, and the dining room has a nice Tuscan charm. Food was simply excellent, especially given the difficulty for those who are gluten intolerant to find decent dining. My gluten and seafood intolerances were non-issues. Every dish was available gluten-free, without requiring any substitution. Usually a restaurant would have only one type of gluten-free pasta available, and not modify any of the desserts. Here, every type of pasta is available gluten free, and the desserts were also available gluten-free! This place is gluten free heaven! And, of course, there were more than enough non-seafood, gluten-free selections to choose from. Come here if you are celiac, gluten intolerant or simply leading a gluten-free live style!. You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Jennie M.

Yelp
SUCH A HIDDEN GEM!! Everything on the menu can be made gluten free and they have dairy free cheese as well! I get the chicken Parmesan which is almost impossible to find anywhere gluten and dairy free. It's beyond incredible and comes with a side of yummy pasta (also can ask for gluten free!). Also don't sleep on the humus and gluten free bread to start-- some of the best I've had. This has become a go to restaurant for me
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Bistango is completely gluten free! Everything on the menu is gluten free, which is exciting! We got several appetizers, all of them were delicious. Would definitely recommend the calamari. We were all disappointed in the main entrees. Would definitely not recommend the lasagna. It was very bland. Other entrees that my group got were just average. The chocolate lava cake is delicious! The staff was very friendly and there is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. We made a reservation so not sure how difficult it would be getting in regularly... cute decor and a nice ambiance in the restaurant!
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Good gluten free pasta options in a beautiful restaurant off of the San Carlos Hotel in midtown. Servers were attentive and ambience was lively at the holidays. The calamari were excellent and the cheese and charcuterie platters were oversized and generous portions.
google avatar

Darian B.

Yelp
For hotel dining, it's decent, but as far as Italian food goes, it's pretty average. One odd choice was serving hummus with the bread instead of olive oil or even butter - it felt a bit out of place for an Italian restaurant. The service was solid, though, with attentive staff who kept things running smoothly. That said, the atmosphere definitely had a hotel vibe--most of the diners didn't seem to be locals, which added to the transient feel. Overall, it's fine if you're staying at the hotel, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
google avatar

Miranda F.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by the PULSD deal this place offers! Inside the elegant Kimberly hotel, Bistango offers a reasonable ($49?) voucher for 2 to have two brunch entrees and one drink each (any cocktail counts!). Brunch items were inventive and high quality. You can also order lunch items if you prefer! Service seemed a tad understaffed, but at the same time was top-notch and white-tablecloth vibes. Definitely will return!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place!! Bistango is literally my girlfriend and I favorite restaurant out of the whole city. From the first time eating at the restaurant, the food will make your mouth water and like my mom use to say is "it must be good cause y'all quiet" Then the staff provided exceptional hospitality that made the experience ten times better and makes us want to come back for more, along with the food. Now for the food, which by the way anything on the menu can be made gluten free!!! Making it gluten free you couldn't tell the difference from gluten filled food. Our go-to food choices are: Charcuterie Board w/ gluten free bread , Green Spinach Ravioli*, Pancetta Mushroom Papparadella, Tiramisu, and Pistachio Cannoli. When eating this you can taste the freshness, all the individual ingredients, and the love & care they put into each of the entrees. *Honorable mention entree: The Lasagna Bolognesewas an alternative to when the Green Spinach Ravioli, even though my girlfriend was devastated, but the lasagna did not disappoint our taste bud. To wrap it up lol we will be coming back to be in foodie heaven again!

Yelp
Cranky and starving after a day of 9/11... came back to our hotel in need of a giant Drink and food and Bistango satisfied ! Got my party of 2 in asap, yes a hotel Restaurant but an easy feed , service was nice ,food was delish ! We started with calamari ( fair but Mom was happy ) a meat flatbread ( in nyc !?) but Back to me - the Veal Milanese was perfect! Easy bread / humus starter was nice . Again - nice location after a nice day . Keep it simple !

Yelp
One of the best gluten free meals I have had in NY. Everything can be prepared gf. I had the beat salad with citrus ricotta, pumpkin ravioli and branzino. Every bite was exquisite. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. It's in the lobby of a pretty hotel with great ambiance. When I was there the play list was 80s easy listening. So much fun.

Yelp
Had a great experience here. Our waiters were super helpful, giving recommendations and making sure to keep our water filled and plate with bread on it. The food was all very good with the french fries really standing out. Gluten Free: Could not recommend this place enough if you are gluten free. The waiters were very knowledgable and the first thing they asked was if there were any allergies at the table. There are so many options as almost everything can be done gluten free. Having a gluten free bread to start and being able to get dessert was amazing. We went with the chocolate Lava cake for dessert and it was amazing.

Paula N.

Yelp
Great service and nice wine selection. Got an amazing chicken entree and arugula salad. Chicken was super moist. All of the servers and managers were attentive and accommodating. Complimentary gluten free bread and hummus was very tasty. Restaurant is located in the lobby of the beautiful Kimberly hotel. I highly recommend.

Yelp
We had an excellent dinner here and highly recommend. The pasta was excellent , good service and loved the Brunello they had by the glass. Intimate setting with good service .

Yelp
We had a super delightful experience at Bistango, particularly in sharp contrast to the ogles and judgmental looks from the rooftop bar of the same hotel. We came on a Saturday evening after a beautiful sunset on the rooftop of the Kimberly Hotel, and thankfully had a reservation for this quasi-busy, small, but quaint, restaurant. There are only about 10 tables in total, which meant that the waitstaff were super attentive, patient, and overall kind. The lobby was a bit quirky with the blue-backlit aquarium (in the truest sense -- coral and all) flanked with gaudy seating around. Although we were a pretty tame Bachelorette party of 7, nobody in the restaurant -- clientele or waitstaff -- treated us any differently. We ordered a burrata and truffle fries as appetisers to share, and each got a variety of flatbreads and main courses (the eggplant parmesan for me). We were surprised with not one, but TWO rounds of free champagne for all of us with hefty pours each time. We were truly floored by the generosity. In terms of food, the burrata salad was amazingly fresh with a delicious pesto I wish I had access to all of the time. The truffle fries were not overpoweringly fungi-ed, which is my usual concern. My friends only had positive things to say about the flatbreads, while my eggplant parmesan hit the spot as well -- filling, but not too heavy and just the right balance of flavours. I have zero complaints about this place. If you're in the area and want a solid positive experience, come to Bistango and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Great restaurant. Loved how easy to make reservations. We were looking for an early dinner Friday evening before going to an 8pm show on Broadway. 5:15pm, and we were one of the first tables seated. Waitstaff so polite and attentive. We started by ordering from the glass of wine selections $15/glass. I enjoyed the Italian cabernet. Others got the Rose and chardonnay. Ordered the cheese plate with extra bread. They brought hummus to accompany the bread. The cheese and fruit Plat fresh figs, dried apricots, pecans, smoked mozzarella, Manchester and cheddar $22. Then we shared the salad with apple slices $16, shared wildmushroomFlatbread. $18 and prosciutto flatbread $22. Really enjoyable, relaxing diner

Lyn G.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the food was horrible. The gluten free pizza was equivalent to a cracker, and the brussels sprouts had no seasonings on them at all. Additionally, the restaurant is next to a loud parking garage - making the dining experience difficult. Service was kind but very slow.

Jo E.

Yelp
I go to Bistango every time I'm in New York, and it never disappoints. One of the most amazing things about this restaurant is that they can make *everything* on the menu (lasagna, ravioli, flatbread pizza, and more!) gluten free. And their gluten free items taste amazing. The staff are always incredibly friendly and go out of their way to talk to my young kids. The giant fishtank in the restaurant is also a hit with kids. Highly recommend!

Mehedi H.

Yelp
This place offers a beautiful ambience with an elegant vibe. The service was top-notch, and every dish was exceptional - you truly can't go wrong with the menu.

Von D.

Yelp
The meatballs are delicious, and the staff ensures you feel taken care of. Best Italian in NYC! We discovered it on accident, but now go every trip when there is a special occasion.
google avatar

Fenn N.

Yelp
A very beautiful restaurant with a cozy ambiance. However, service and food was lackluster. We went as a department and everyone was somewhat disappointed. The meal was not exactly flavorful. Our dessert items alone took almost an hour to come out. Just an okay experience.
google avatar

Miguel T.

Yelp
I'm updating my review from a few years ago SERVICE- still excellent our waiter was superb FOOD - you should try the meatballs appetizer it is excellent and the sauce is super flavorful. Wife had the gluten free arincini that was to die for (according to her - LOL) The black linguine with clams was also tasty. If they used local Long Island clams it would be the bomb. Try the lasagne (gluten free) it is really good DESERT- we are ordering the lava cake and gluten free terimisu will get back to you later on them. PRICE - still the draw back. Not for the thin wallet I suppose LOL
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic waitstaff at this restaurant. The mocktails were good. The red snapper was fabulous! I will return here someday.

Grace G.

Yelp
CELIAC DINER GLUTEN FREE REVIEW: I was served normal bread here after putting my gluten allergy in the reservation, telling the hostess, telling the server at greeting, server at order, and server after order. I guess my mistake was not asking again when my food was served. Please be cautious eating here with an allergy. Everything on the menu CAN BE MADE gluten free. I saw a lot of reviews saying 'everything is gluten free' it is not. And even when you order it to be made without gluten there is still room for error. Please please be weary at every step as we are all human and make mistakes. This mistake cost us the rest of the day and a missed broadway show as I had to go back to the hotel and ... do business. Our server was great and I was really disappointed we didn't get to fully eat here. I am sure you live up to the great reviews. Thank you for being understanding that I needed to leave ASAP after eating my allergen.
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
Most restaurants in hotels tend to be a bit overpriced, overpacked, and overrated. Yet Bistango does a pretty good job being a decent spot amidst corporate midtown. I would've rated this a solid four stars, especially on the eggplant parm alone. But the pizza was incredibly average and slightly undercooked. Their waitstaff was super accommodating, so might be worth another go.
google avatar

Deidre W.

Yelp
I really enjoyed Bistango. Some of my family members must eat gluten free and they were well accommodated here. The food was very good. Service was warm and friendly and the ambiance was lovely and simple.
google avatar

April B.

Yelp
They handled food allergies extremely well with anything on the menu available gluten free. My husband enjoyed the honey crisp salad with steak and said it was delicious. My kiddo had the lasagne which I tried and thought was very yummy. I had the wild mushroom tagliatelle and it was very good. We shared the chocolate lava cake which was solid. Wait staff was very attentive and helpful.

Yelp
I had heard about the Kip's Bay location of Bistango, their gluten-free pasta, and other healthy options they offered. I bookmarked it only to find out it closed during the pandemic, but I was happy to find out they had a sister restaurant in the Kimberly Hotel on East 50th Street. That turned out to be more convenient anyway for Jamie W. and me since we were staying at a hotel just a few blocks away in Midtown East. Good thing since there was a cloudburst when we decided to make a reservation and go over there. Whether it was COVID-19 or the rain, the restaurant looked relatively empty except for one boisterous party. Tables were well spaced and the lighting was subtly dim. Right away we received a complimentary serving of their housemade Hummus with grilled baguette slices (photo; https://bit.ly/3nLrVoi). That was disappearing at an alarming rate just as our antipasti arrived, the $20 Burrata. It was a rich dollop of traditional cow milk cheese on top of toasted ciabatta and topped with a slice of prosciutto cotto and shaved black truffle (photo: https://bit.ly/3EIf8dh). It was tasty though a bit on the overkill side especially after the hummus. We also decided to share the $13 Baby Beets, which were served with plenty of ricotta, toasted pistachios, and baby greens (photo: https://bit.ly/3mEfUSh). Jamie took advantage of the pasta menu and went for the $24 Cavatelli. The dish featured Italian sausage, kale, Calabrian chili, and stracciatella (photo: https://bit.ly/3q0bojd). I was jealous as I ordered the $26 Red Snapper, a hefty grilled fillet festooned with cherry tomato halves and sitting atop julienned squash. For my particular taste, the one flaw was the excessive amount of lemon basil butter sauce (photo: https://bit.ly/3BQdiFr). We didn't have room for dessert. Seriously. But for old school Italian with some new American touches, I think Bistango is worth a try. FOOD - 4 stars...pasta and burrata are the best bets here AMBIANCE - 4 stars...the vintage-style hotel setting works for the Italiano vibe SERVICE - 4 stars...good though a bit too polished if you know what I mean TOTAL - 4 stars... more old school than I expected but still quite good RELATED - Hungry in NYC? Here's a collection of places I've tried and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2YS9ELs

Yelp
I made a reservation for dinner with my in-laws at Bistango and feel awful for choosing such a disappointing restaurant. The host seemed surprised at our arrival, though I had an email confirming my reservation. I was then informed that the dining room was closed for a private event. This was news to me. We were seated outside in the freezing cold where the door was constantly opening and hitting my father in-law in the back of the head. The pizza was tiny with what seemed to be a tortilla crust. The pastas were serviceable but my mother-in-law said her snapper entree was tasteless. The wait staff were kind and helpful, otherwise I'd give only one star.

Andie S.

Yelp
We love this place. Gluten free food is so good even those who don't need gluten free enjoy it. Absolute dream for those of us who need gf! Love the ambiance too-- always chill and it was also family friendly, which we really appreciated!
google avatar

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Wonderful! If you want great food that is reasonably priced, this is it! I was thrilled that it had a wide variety of gluten free options as well. Just a great experience!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a weekend visit. Very reasonably priced for Manhattan. The steak and eggs were simple and done well, The watermelon cocktail was delicious, the inside is nice, the outside very casual. The service was good , not rushed. The only thing I don't like is fake flowers stock to the walls under the balcony.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
We used a Pusld, good was just okay and service was just okay. Fun little outdoor spot but maybe we just came on an off day
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
I finally had the opportunity to meet for happy hour. I researched a bunch of places in Midtown East and came across this spot. When I arrived at the restaurant I recall that this place had a rooftop but due to time I settled in the one of the outdoor tables in front of the restaurant. The happy hour menu is awesome, which ends at 7pm. Once my friend arrived, we ordered the frose ($7), my friend got the arancini ($7) and I got the fried calamari ($10). We were impressed by the service despite being short staffed and the portion sizes of these orders that came in except for the frose, but we can't complain. I will definitely return to this place and hopefully be able to do another happy hour get together on the rooftop.

Yelp
At this price, there are better Italian options in New York City. Came with a friend for dinner at 8 on Monday night. We made a reservation on the Yelp app; they said they didn't have it in their system, commenting "We are on OpenTable." In any case, there were many tables free on Monday night for dinner at 8pm. I had a hard time finding a pasta or main dish on the menu that sounded appetizing. The pasta dishes were all around $30, even the vegetarian ones, which in my mind puts this in the $$$ price range (though maybe not for Midtown?) Had arancini appetizer, followed by linguine with lobster tail and asparagus. The arancini was good, crispy and cheesy. The pasta tasted freshly made, but was slightly over cooked (far from al dente), the sauce was bland, and the lobster was tough and flavorless. Also, the parts of the dish (pasta, sauce, asparagus, lobster) seemed thrown together haphazardly, and didn't really come together into a coherent whole. The waiter did not check in on us very often. The space (in the same building as the adjacent hotel) lacked character and had an institutional quality.

Yelp
Order: - Prix Fixe ~ Meatballs al Forno & Penne Pomodoro with Grilled Chicken (5/5) Pros: - Great tasting food - Amazing service - Beautiful indoor dining - Covered outdoor dining Cons: - Pricey ~ I recommend getting the Prix Fixe Overall: My coworkers and I work right next to the Bistango but only found ourselves trying it recently and we're glad we finally did

Yelp
Had a craving for Italian and this place definitely fulfilled my desire. A co worker and I visited during our work trip to NY. I was able to get a last min reservation on a Thursday- however, it wasn't needed since it wasn't busy by the time we came. We both ordered the lasagna bolognese and it was decent. The lasagna layers were cook to perfection but the dish could have used a bit more salt/seasoning. This was nothing a lot salt and pepper shaker couldn't fix. Ordered their $14 Pinot Grigio and it was very tasty. Definitely left the restaurant with a buzz Lastly, the desserts were top tier. Whoever thought to put that blueberry compote on top of the cheesecake was pure genius.

Yelp
As one with many food allergies I have to be careful what and where to eat. My dinner at Bistango a few days ago was excellent. The waitress was extremely attentive to my food allergies and made sure that what I ordered was safe. She suggested modifications to ensure there was no problems. My friend and I each ordered a fish dish to share. Both dishes were sufficiently large portions and both the Red Snapper and the Branzino were excellent. This was the best restaurant meal I've had in many years without a doubt. Also the atmosphere was very pleasant. The restaurant is situated off a elegant hotel lobby. The noise level was acceptable. The seating is not too crowded. And the service was excellent. And the value for what we got was better than most restaurants in the city. Thank you to all at Bistango. I will be back.

Yelp
Had a nice dinner at Bistango at The Kimberly Hotel with a friend. Very nice hotel entrance...restaurant is located right behind the fish tank. Love the decor. Overall, service and food were great! Nice small bar area if you wish to watch follow sports or the news... Complimentary bread with hummus - good even without the hummus Coctails: Prosecco and Pear cocktail Appetizers to share : Grilled baby octopus and baby beets salad with ricotta - both were good and light to start Entree: Had the squid ink linguine with lobster...delicious as well. There are gluten free options.. Very good menu choices...didn't have room for dessert. Will have to come back again to for that. Yelpers - check in to get 10% off your bill (limited time offer)...present to your server.

Molly J.

Yelp
Food was just ok, but the atmosphere and staff were nice. I would not recommend the flat bread- better off with a $1.50 pizza slice.
google avatar

Briana M.

Yelp
A low key gem! I thought the food was excellent and EVERYTHING on the menu can be made gluten free. wow.
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Came here on a first date, The atmosphere inside the dining room wasn't really what was shown on the website but it was comfortable, good lighting, and "quiet enough". I made reservations on line and that was simple enough. The waitstaff were very pleasant service was quite good, zero complaints. Food: I was more impressed with mine than she was with hers. The ravioli had was as good as any, the lasagna bolognese left a little to be desired. The tiramisu was tasty but not as spongy and light as it usually is. Value: prices were a lot higher than what I pay locally on CT but less expensive than other Italian spots nearby in Midtown. Overall I enjoyed it.
google avatar

Nikki T.

Yelp
Sat at the bar and had the grilled squid and prosciutto flat bread. Both were yummy but the squid was the best. Had grilled squid at a couple other places while in New York and this places was the most flavorful and freshest. I think this was a good find close to our hotel. At the bar you can see the flat bread being hand made and put into the woodburning oven which was cool. We enjoyed our light meal here at the bar. I wouldn't say the service was the best we ever had (think the server was upset we sat at the bar and not a table?) but that grilled squid really did it for me so I'll give the benefit of the doubt and would eat here again.

Yelp
All items can be Gluten free. Sidewalk seating. Good service. Pictures are worth 1000 words. No need to say any more.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Service is so wonderful! I have no idea what these other reviews are talking about. I made my reservation through Yelp (and apparently was supposed to use OpenTable instead) so our rez was nonexistent and the hostess was exceptionally helpful and found us a spot at the bar. The wait staff and manager were attentive the whole night. The food is outstanding! One in our group was gluten free (celiac) and this is the best place we've eaten at in Manhattan. Flatbreads are great, we got the sausage and peppers as well as the fig and prosciutto. Meatballs, octopus, butternut squash pasta, cavatelli, gluten free bread were all delicious. Drinks are also great and strong! All around good atmosphere and highly recommend!

Yelp
Mehh..... for my first time here, it wasn't the best experience. Our waiter was awesome though I have to say that at least! However the ambiance is very nice and romantic. The tap water was awful and our food was okay. I had eggplant Parmesan and it wasn't really made the way I usually eat it. Eggplant is such a tricky veggie to master so it's hit or Miss when you order that dish anyways. It didn't come with pasta, just a decent sized perfectly rectangular portion. **This was out of the restaurants control but what did it finally for me was this party of 8 sitting nearby us. They were a strange bunch lol and then all of the sudden, one of the people sitting at the end of the table closest to us, turns his head towards the floor and let's out two huge loud sneezes without covering his mouth and literally having sprays of spit on the floor... it was so unbelievably disgusting and just when I thought it couldn't get any worse he does it again twice and I just turned and stared at him but he wasn't the least bit phased. Me and my boyfriend looked at each other in amazement and At that point I was like, "this is disgusting, let's go." We paid and then bounced. I was so grossed out and disgusted by his lack of manners.**
