Best Restaurants in Dallas’s Park Cities | Eater Dallas

"A classic Park Cities establishment, Bistro 31 is one of the top-earning restaurants in the city that remains largely under the radar. It opened in 2011, and the buzz died off years ago, well before the advent of the social media food influencer era. That said, it is one of the crown jewels of Lombardy Hospitality’s restaurants. It attracts the monied Highland Park crowd despite having a menu that is a jumbled mix of cuisines. There’s Italian (see the entire pasta and risotto menu), French (steak frites, filet au poivre, steak tartare, escargot), and American (airline chicken, Maine lobster bisque, chopped salad, and a burger). It succeeds because it does all those dishes well and offers a sunny, vibrant dining room that feels luxurious. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it." - Courtney E. Smith

The Best Brunches in Dallas

"If you want to eat where the fancy folks go, this is THEE destination. It’s all very French-inspired and classic, with highlights including a ham and gruyere galette, eggs Benedict, lemon ricotta pancakes, and a burger. The light-filled dining room, along with a few glasses of coffee, will give any weekend day the bright beginning it needs. Highland Park Village parking is a game of driving around until someone vacates their spot — but never fear, someone will eventually leave." - Courtney E. Smith

The Best Cocktails to Sip in September in Dallas | Eater

"Amongst the upscale shops of Highland Park Village, you’ll find Bistro 31, a small cocktail and sushi spot that’s like a little slice of St. Tropez in the heart of Texas. The Mediterranean-inspired menu features delectable bites like escargot bourguignon and spaghetti with pancetta and lobster bolognese. But first, start your meal off with a sweet and sour cocktail, like a Pama Apple Mule, a slightly spicy mix of GREY GOOSE vodka, pomegranate liqueur, fresh squeezed lime juice, homemade ginger syrup and sparkling apple cider. Or if you’d rather sip a cocktail for dessert, try a Hangin’ in There, which features frozen BACARDÍ, lime, coconut water, banana and a dash of chocolate bitters." - Vox Creative

A Handy Guide to Underground Dinners in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"Run by longtime chef Laurent Quenioux, this small-scale dining project exists because the chef prefers producing intimate events to opening a full restaurant; most dinners now take place in a Highland Park private home with guest lists capped at 22. Quenioux’s background includes opening a downtown bistro in 1985 and decades of pop-up work around the city, and current offerings tend to sell out well in advance." - Mona Holmes

The place is beautiful and we easily got seating outside (inside was full). Mauro, our server, was so relaxed and never said no to us for anything!! Beet salad was delicious and my husband ordered the burger- made exactly how he likes it. The complimentary baguette is served with cold butter and sea salt but the olive oil is worth trying too!

Google
We received exceptional service from Ivan — he was absolutely amazing. Thank you Ivan! The place itself is very cool, the food was great, and the overall ambiance was really enjoyable. The only downside was a female customer who seemed a bit drunk and repeatedly made unpleasant comments like “disgusting” and “gross.” She also kept talking to the staff about us, apparently just because we weren’t speaking English. I understand she may be a regular customer, but that kind of behavior is unacceptable and affects the experience of other guests who simply want to enjoy good food, drinks, and a nice atmosphere.

I stopped at Bistro 31 in Dallas during a business trip, coming straight from the airport with my luggage. The staff were super friendly and even showed me a safe place to store my bags while I ate — such a nice touch after a long flight. I had the lobster bisque (around $18), which was absolutely delicious — rich, flavorful, and full of good-sized chunks of lobster. Definitely one of the best I’ve had in a while! I also ordered the lobster salad (about $32). It was a bit smaller than I expected, but beautifully presented and very refined, which made up for the size. The taste was okay, but not as good as the bisque. I was also served warm baguette with butter while I waited, which was a nice surprise. The atmosphere feels classy and relaxed, surrounded by luxury shops — a perfect spot to take a break and recharge. My waiter (French) was very attentive and friendly, which made the whole experience even better.

Google
Cozy small little italian restaurant. Lovely server, fast service. Only complaint was the steak au poivre. Dry and unseasoned. Remaining dishes were good

Google
Absolutely love this place . Went with my girls for brunch . Second restaurant that I’ve been owned by the same family and I wasn’t disappointed. The drinks were great and the food was delicious I had the pasta and shrimp and it was cooked to perfection. The service we had was just phenomenal and even though we had outside seating we were under the shade and still had a blast. We also had the pleasure to meet the owner he came up to our table said he noticed all the beautiful women and wanted to say hi🥹 I thought that was so cute bless his heart. Will be coming back for sure Parking can be tricky but it’s first come first

Google
Where to begin… this was the best restaurant I’ve eaten at this year. The decor is top-notch down to the sofa-like seating (my artwork would look nice here😁). The Mgr also checked on us twice during the dinner. The food was amazing except for the olive oil cake; it wasn’t bad by no means but not for me. The servers were flawless. I highly recommend you treat yourself by visiting here. It was our anniversary and we made a great choice.

Google
The restaurant has a lovely Italian–French charm, and the service was excellent. Everyone was attentive and welcoming. I’d definitely come back again.

Google
We were seated right away, and the restaurant itself is very cute with a nice, welcoming ambiance. One small surprise was that when I looked the restaurant up on Google, it was described as “European” cuisine and didn’t specify Italian, so I went in expecting a slightly different menu. The bread and butter were very good, and our waiter was friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the meal. I ordered one of the specials—a pasta dish with salmon—but unfortunately it was very bland and lacked flavor. In hindsight, I probably should have asked for salt, as that may have helped. My husband’s dish was slightly better. I was especially excited to see panna cotta on the dessert menu, but it didn’t taste like panna cotta to me and also lacked flavor. My husband ordered the cobbler with ice cream, which I tasted and thought was good. Overall, I was disappointed by how bland both my entrée and dessert were, especially given how promising the restaurant seemed and the price point. That said, the service and atmosphere were pleasant, and it’s possible that other items on the menu are more flavorful.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambience were all fantastic. The services provided by the professional management, Michael, and staff, Stephen, are the main reasons that we keep coming back. The old world elegance is a rare thing, and we value their focus to make sure that everything about the dining experience is excellent. I highly recomend Bistro 31!

Yelp
Amazing experience. Shoutout to our server, Matthew, for above and beyond stellar service throughout our dining experience! I had their fresh Jumbo Prawns, 6 pieces. Huge and delicious! Butternut Squash Soup, the greatest I've ever had, very flavorful! Their beet salad was crisp, fresh, and mouthwatering! Their Margarita Mediterranean didn't disappoint! Excellent mixologist! For dessert, it's not on their menu, seasonal only, French Berry Cobbler. This baby was served hot with vanilla ice cream, bursting with berry flavors. I highly recommend you try them all! Playing very hip music in the background, it felt like a Mediterranean vibe, overall. I had a phenomenal experience! Yes, I'm returning! Highly recommended! Cheers and Enjoy!!! 5 Stars and Beyond!!!

Yelp
Cute little spot in Highland Park Village. Had an hour to myself and drove from my hotel for a drink and dessert. Service was excellent and my food was delicious.

Yelp
5 stars I had such a lovely experience at Bistro 31! The atmosphere is elegant and upscale, perfect for a date night or a chic lunch with friends. I started with the Caesar salad, which was fresh, crisp, and well-dressed--not too heavy, just right. For my main, I had the sea bass, and it was absolutely divine--perfectly cooked, flaky, and full of flavor. They offer valet parking, which is super convenient, but you can also find parking in the shopping center if you prefer. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and everything about the vibe felt elevated yet comfortable. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a classy dining spot in Dallas! Cost: $$$ Parking: Valet & Self Parking Noise Level: Low

Yelp
Bistro 31 is located right in the heart of Highland Park Village. It's a small eatery with a lot of natural lighting and a local clientele. We started with the Mediterranean octopus. I had the wild caught salmon which came with asparagus and vegetables. It was quite good. My friend had a Caesar salad and she liked it. It's not a very large restaurant, but it is quite quaint. Service was attentive. Overall, I enjoyed our lunch and would come back again.

Yelp
ANTHONY J IS THE BEST. He took care of us the entire time. His energy is just very captivating and it made us have a great time. It was super packed the weekend that we went and he still found time to check on us and make sure we were doing ok. Great service from him. Would definitely go back to see him!

Yelp
I attended a bridesmaids luncheon upstairs in the lounge today and it was absolutely perfect. Appetizers were delicious. Drinks were great and lunch was superb. Service was amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Tuna Tartare, Grilled Salmon, Olive Oil Cake I had never been to the private room here before this visit, and it was gorgeous! There is a stairway to it on the outside of the restaurant and the room itself is massive and spacious with a full service bar. The food was not up to its usual par, unfortunately, possibly due to how many of us were present. The tuna tartare was very much just okay. The grilled salmon was great and tender. The olive oil cake was pretty good but nothing to write home about

Yelp
Amazing! In Dallas for a few days to visit with my favorite niece and she brought us here! Wow! Definitely a place to see and be seen! Watch out for the Pear Pressure, it's fire!

Yelp
Took myself on a lunch date to Bistro 31 June 2024 Monday Reservation made online for 11:45 (12:15, my preferred, wasn't available) Parking: Around 11:45, parking was perfect. Valet is available for the shopping center as well. Around 12:45, parking was still available but it's busier during that time. Staff: Perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality. Ambiance: cozy, light chatter, well lit. Accommodations: ladies, they bring you a purse rack for your bag. Food: I am a rigatoni girlie. The server told me to get it with blackened chicken, so I decided to do that for the $9 upcharge. I would explore other options on the menu next time, but 3.9/5. Price: fair for the area. $40 for just the pasta, really. I had water to drink. $10 for the tip. Cute little restaurant- would return.

Yelp
Went here this past Saturday night, ate up in the Lounge, however ordered from the normal Bistro 31 menu from downstairs. I got the Tagliolini Tonno & Caviale and it was lukewarm warm and had no taste. This use to be one of my favorite dishes from this restaurant (when it had the shrimp) I'm not sure if they have a new chef or what, but it was very disappointing. The sushi and my husband's streak frites were good, along with the drinks. Hope they can turn this around, because I like going here, but would not order this pasta again.

Yelp
I had my first visit last weekend, and honestly I can't shake this feeling of being ripped off. I've heard great things about this place. The ambience and service were awesome, but the food completely missed the mark for me. I had the gnocchi which was great, but the portion size was pretty laughable for the price. My table also ordered the scallops and risotto, which looked amazing and were a good size, but I was seriously disappointed by the flavor and consistency. The risotto was bland, undercooked, and runny. The scallops had no real flavor. I'm not picky by any means and I've heard great things about this spot so maybe this was a one off. Regardless they went 0/2 with entrees. This city has so many amazing high end food spots that I would just avoid this one.
google avatar

Krista F.

Yelp
Just ok, food was decent but nothing to rave about and our server was not the friendliest. Free valet parking and outside seating was nice. I do not recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes, tasted like regular pancakes and the burrata and Tono was sent back. Escargot was ok but not as savory as I was hoping for. Outside of the ambiance and outdoor seating this was a miss for us.

Yelp
Bistro 31 - a beautiful eatery in a beautiful environment! Parking: I guess it depends on the time. We went on a Monday evening via uber and saw about 20% parking capacity available. It is in an outdoor mall of sorts so if you circle around a few times you'll find parking! Drinks: a great wine selection from Europe, California and Australia! Food: we had so many things but not many pictures as we were enjoying g the vibe. The Dover Sole was my favorite. They said it could serve two but it really can't - we had to order another, which wasn't a problem as they had it ready in about 12 minutes. Some had the steak and some had and some had Branzino and some had salmon. Everyone, including myself, raved about the foie gras! We had a variety of desserts that were freshly made and tasted delicious! Service: absolutely excellent service! Our waitress was the best. We said we wanted a candle lit dinner and she delivered by finding us some birthday candles and constantly refreshing the batch when they dwindled. She had an upbeat personality and was super friendly. Atmosphere/vibe: this is certainly in a ritzy part of Dallas so be prepared for that sort of a crowd. It had great indoor and outdoor dining. Apparently they also have a rooftop. Age group: all ages Bathroom: didn't use it! Return: absolutely

Yelp
Came here for a girls brunch. Super cute vibe, obviously in a great area. I will say I didn't like how close our table was to the bar and kitchen door. I get it it's a small space but man I felt crammed. The service was great, our waitress was wonderful. The menu is nice and has a lot to offer. Portion to price is normal for that area. If you're a foodie like me your meal will not be cheap. The octopus was cooked perfectly, flavors were decent. Not the best octopus dish I've had, but definitely not bad either. The beet cured salmon bite was nice. But it was literally one bite. The carpaccio was nice as well, still wasn't amazing but definitely good. The steak and eggs special was ehh. I've had a way better steak elsewhere for less money. For being in this area, the aesthetics was fitting, but the food was not super memorable. I love trying new places but this won't be one I go out of my way to come to.

Yelp
Shout out to Eric for great service. Galette was yum. Walked in for one to a friendly staff. Great comfy indoor seating on a hot day.

Yelp
Located in beautiful Highland Park, Bistro 31 is the best restaurant I've ever eaten in Dallas! The service was incredible and we received our food in minutes! The pasta and gelato were to die for! It was worth every penny!!
google avatar

Jonathan A.

Yelp
The ambiance was great, service was ok, mixed drinks not so great, the wine selection is great! Food was ok, not the greatest but not horrible. The place was highly recommended, food needed a little more seasoning.

Yelp
I'm back ... again. And bistro 31 has satisfied me...again. At this point you know how I feel about this place if you've seen my previous reviews so please visit my previous reviews and visit bistro 31! Food : 9/10 Service : 10/10 Ambiance : 6.5/10

Yelp
I loved this place! Me and my mom went here after walking around highland park and it was delectable'! Though the restaurant is small inside, it packs big flavor! All the waiters are so attentive! The overall food was delicious and super flavorful! We shared the salmon which they split for us, such a nice touch! The sauce on the salmon was amazing' and you can tell them how rare you want it. The vegetables tasted fresh as well. The lobster max and cheese was packed with chunks of Lobster ! And the lobster bisque was by far one of the best I've ever had! A little pricey but for the service & food it's so Worth it!

Dabney C.

Yelp
LOVED Bistro 31!! My friends and I sat outside which was sooo nice. I ordered the vodka pasta and a gimlet which was delicious. A great spot for dinner and drinks. Definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Yelp
Special shout out to Michael (GM) and Julio (bartender); you are the reason we keep returning. You live & breathe service; you make us feel at home. Service, food and ambiance at its best!
google avatar

Giovanny E.

Yelp
The food is delicious. Service is quick and welcoming. We came here after church. This place is not kids friendly for little ones, no highchair fyi. It's more for friends or couple hang out.
google avatar

Jeff C.

Yelp
Enjoyed a very nice dinner outside on a splendid night. Everything was tasty, with starters tuna tartare and lobster bisque (with plentiful pieces of lobster), both delicious. For entrees, we enjoyed wild caught salmon and oysters Rockefeller with rhubarb smash, which were tasty accompanied by wine. Service was very good, too.
google avatar

John J.

Yelp
Enjoyed a very nice Saturday brunch at Bisto 31. We enjoyed the Tuscan ambiance and great service by Alex. Creative cocktail list and our favorites was the Staycation. The eggs and pancakes were delicious, as was the perfectly cooked, thick bacon. Eggs Benedict were perfectly prepared. My wife really enjoyed the Galette and highly recommends it. Prices very reasonable for the Highland Park area. We look forward to returning.

Jen C.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Gorgeous menu, exceptional service by Alessandro, and beautiful ambiance. Group of 3 with a reservation, we tried the gnocchi, rigatoni, beet and goat cheese salad, bistro salad, lobster bisque, and salmon latke. All delicious and beautifully presented.
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
Pros: fantastic food. Excellent service. Upbeat atmosphere, not too stuffy. Cons: never enjoy the parking situation at HP village, but it is what it is. Came to dine at Bistro 31 on a warm Saturday night and they had the patio screens open which was such a nice touch. Got the vibes and music from upstairs sister, Lounge 31, without having to battle the crowd and arm to arm set up. Really enjoy the more spacious setup of Bistro with still getting some of the energy of upstairs. Food, as always, was 100% spot on. Staff was very attentive. While this might not mean much to most, having the purse stands always makes me feel like the restaurant is looking out for us ladies and I'm glad to not have to balance my bag all evening precariously on the table or behind my chair. Adds the additional touch to a great experience. Bistro 31 is always high on my list for a solid meal with any group.
google avatar

Yelp
Great outdoor sittings. Good staffs, and good food. Location is one of the best in Dallas.
google avatar

Yelp
I really liked this spot. It's beautiful, quaint and exactly what you'd look for in a brunch spot. The service was excellent. Their breakfast crepe was surprisingly tasty. And their croissants were fresh and light. I'd love to come back for dinner or a proper lunch next time. I'm sold.

Yelp
My first time coming to highland park to grab a few drinks with a friend. I arrived early and sat at the bar where i immediately ordered the old fashioned, love a good old fashioned. I must say the bartender Luis was great and he definitely can make some great drinks. Was speaking with one of the waiters, steven who is awesome and has the greatest recommendations. Highly recommend the burger with the ai pour sauce on the side. You can make and add anything to the burgers. The chef also came out and i spoke with him for a little. Great and very talented individual who can make almost anything taste great and is a whiz with varying sauces, i tried quite a few while there. Definitely recommend trying this place out if you haven't for a date night, quick drink after work, lunch you name it. I'll for sure be back.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
The service was amazing. The staff is so friendly!! The food is clean with amazing ingredients. Delicious and decadent! My new favorite restaurant. Maybe the best burger I've had.
google avatar

Peggy E.

Yelp
Food was so so. I get the impression it is a place to see and be seen rather than culinary excellence.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
Bistro lost their fabulous Chef Johnson and has totally slipped in Menu, Food and Service. None of the fabulous ravioli dishes they used to offer with lobster or mushrooms were on the Menu. The dishes tonight were disappointing like the Lemon Linguini that had no lemon flavor and the sauce was more Alfredo than lemon. When the shrimp was the best part of the dish it's a loser. The portions have also experiences a serious shrink. We were so disappointed that we won't go back until the new Chef proves he has something to offer. A once great now is a " has been". A sad departure for a once favorite restaurant.

Yelp
Brunch for 5 ladies on Sunday. We started with the tartare...OMG TDF! And, gorgeously presented. Main courses: avocado toast, veggie omelette, cheeseburger, lemon ricotta pancakes, and the scallop risotto. All were delish! We had 2 mishaps that were overly corrected by the staff and Chef Henry. One: my friend asked for a plain cheeseburger, meaning no accouterments, however it came with pickles on top. They took it away and made a new entree with fresh fries (yummy, By the way!). Two: my friend who had the ricotta pancakes - her dish came with eggs which she ordered medium...they came out scrambled. Again - quickly remedied. We were served fresh, hot, chocolate chip cookies with a bowl of ice cream, AND olive oil cake (no words can say how delicious that was)... Hats off to all service members! Emma, Steven, and Chef Henry - who came twice to talk and "cut up" with us. Steven is a HOOT and made these yummy whipped toppings for us at the table. Emma - she is just as sweet as can be! Hats off! I will DEFINITELY be back. THANK YOU! And, to the Yelp Community...please don't forget to tip your server!
google avatar

Christiane M.

Yelp
good food but also very expensive. nice atmosphere especially if you sit outside by the porch. definitely recommend the beet and goat cheese salad
google avatar

Michelle C.

Yelp
Great ambience and good food. Very busy and recommend making a reservation. Plenty of parking in the area for dinner as most shops close early. The staff do a great job of seating you. Which, was great as the hostess area is very small. They offer both inside and outside seating. We had the lobster ravioli and burger. The ravioli looked small when delivered, but was very filling and table favorite. Fries and burger were good too. Overall good choice.
google avatar

Crystal W.

Yelp
Let's go best to worst shall we? Service- Perfection. They anticipate your needs and come back quickly. No silly small talk- just mute professionalism. Ambiance- It's cramped damn it! They did not offer our party of four the lovely space upstairs that is spacious and airy. Nope stuck us behind a large party back to back. Servers couldn't even fit through. If I weren't stuck in the back of the bus I wouldn't even know there was an upstairs playing music very loud. I just felt like I was missing out. Food- Ugh. I ordered the lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes with eggs and bacon, side of breakfast potatoes. Was the lemon and ricotta in the room with us? No! Pancakes bland, the blueberry sauce/pureé was tart as ever. Everything else was decent- if you had salt, pepper, hot sauce and ketchup. Go to be seen, not for brunch unless it's liquid. Cocktails seemed to be a crowd pleaser.
google avatar

Claudia C.

Yelp
Enjoyed dinner here a few weeks ago with a friend. The Chanel No. 31 drink is iconic and delicious! I love all things truffle, so we started with the beef carpaccio. Highly recommend. For my entree, they all looked great but I went with the lemon linguine. Prawns were large, linguine Al dente and fresh parm atop! Can't wait to come back to try a dessert!
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Cute brunch spot with an elegant atmosphere and good, beautifully presented food/cocktails! It's a popular place so reservations are definitely recommended. I've always been happy with the service as well and it's a great location in HPV, meaning you can continue on with your day after brunch with some shopping or more cocktails at one of the other bars in the area (Bistro's upstairs lounge is my recommendation!)

Lauren S.

Yelp
I have lived in HP since before lounge 31 was in HP village. Went there to catch up with a friend hoping for a seat. Which we got no issue by the fountain on a perfect fall evening. That's where the good experience ended. The waitress had to be sought after, physically pursued the entire night, even though outside was only a 1/4 full. And when I got up to use the restroom the bouncer tried to deny me enterance, for fun? No idea? even though we'd been sitting outside for 2 hours eating and drinking. He was attempting to "stab" his co worker with the rope/ post goofing off . No big deal, but when I tried to squeeze by tried to tell me I was not allowed in. Once I told him I'd been at a table and needed to go to the bathroom he then put down his " weapon" and begrudgingly allowed me enterance. Extremely unprofessional and not what I expect for a restaurant with the price point and reputation it claims to have . Not planning to return or recommend to anyone with that kind of service.

Yelp
Bistro 31 is a not so well kept secret! I've been coming here for some time now and I really enjoy it! My personal favorite food item is the lobster salad and they make such a great espresso martini! Service is always so friendly and the restaurant itself has a great ambiance and an INCREDIBLE patio! If you're thinking about it, give it a chance!
google avatar

CeCee S.

Yelp
I'm all about cute dining. I've never been to France but I imagine this is the type of place I would eat my meals. The staff here is so poised and attentive. I feel like there was one server per table. Whenever I lifted my head or finished a course everything was moved swiftly and discreetly. Did I mention they have stands to hang your hand bags???!!! I'm all about a great Caesar salad. This one has fried anchovies. I prefer raw so they prepared a new salad with anchovies not fried. The escargot was so decadent....buttery garlic sauce. I had the Chanel drink to complete my bougie adventure. However I was very comfortable...didn't find the vibe to be stuffy at all. I really enjoyed my visit...can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Let's talk Bistro 31... I stopped by with my Grandma on a random Thursday afternoon and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It's conveniently located right in the heart of Highland Park! We were immediately greeted by friendly faces & escorted to a table with no wait. Our server was so kind and attentive to us and the food was so good! I ordered the salmon with a side of brussels sprouts which was incredibly delicious and filling !! Bistro 31 itself is elegant and comparable in pricing to other upscale restaurants. It is on the smaller end so it can feel slightly crammed but they do offer outdoor seating.

Nisha R.

Yelp
Bougie Brunching at its finest. I felt like a real house wife of Dallas on a tv show. I truly enjoyed my time at Bistro 31. It's a cute and charming bistro. My waitress was awesome. She took good care of are table. Sitting outside was the best part. The inside is equally as nice. The weather was perfect and I was able to people watch. I will say one thing that could be annoying is the lounge upstairs music was loud. If you're on a romantic date that might ruin it. However, I was with my girlfriends so it was ok. So moving on the food was yummy. The lobster bisque was creamy and rich. It was full of flavor and each spoonful I had a bite of lobster. Next I tried the lobster salad. It was delicious and it had big pieces of lobster. I was really impressed with the amount of lobster. The Chanel 31 drink was cute and tasty. Fun to get once, but a little pricey. Overall I had a great time and enjoyed the ambiance. I would definitely eat here again. I left happy and full! I had great customer service. Fun and fancy atmosphere and cool for a girls day out.

Yelp
This is a quick note on Bistro 31 because we were with a large party of 10. There were three things that really stand out for me: 1. Ambiance/ Service. Pretty place a little stuffy but we sat on the patio. We had one server for our table and she was excellent with her knowledge of the menu and the way she handled our group. 2. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. I had the lobster ravioli and my wife had the sweet potato risotto. The prices are are on the high end but I thought they were competitive with other high end places. The table shared a couple of deserts including the olive oil cake and the chocolate tart. I thought both were very good. 3. My measure of all restaurants is whether I would recommend to a friend and would I go back and the answer to both question is a big yes.

Yelp
The service was incredible, and I loved the Chanel No 31 drink. It was delicious. Great location to people watch if you want to sit outside. High end shopping nearby, perfect for walking off brunch and watching your sister decide what color Celine bag (I vote black; she wants dune). Some of the food was hit and miss. Hits: Warm brie appetizer; lemon ricotta pancakes; and almond croissants. I loved that the brie came with roasted garlic that was super easy to spread. The ricotta was cooked right into the pancakes, and came with fresh whipped cream with vanilla bean. Miss: Anything seafood. The crab cake appetizer was meh, but the wild Pacific salmon eggs benedict was gamey and off. The first clue was that the salmon was this dark fuchsia color, just like the color of beets. Something tasted wrong with it. It wasn't pickled or anything to warrant that color, and I'm not sure what the goal was. If I ordered something else, I think it would've been a 4 star meal. Not kid friendly (despite what they may say when you're making reservations), so don't take them.

Yelp
Had a wonderful NYE brunch at Bistro 31. We had a few dishes and all were absolutely fantastic including the vegetarian omelette, octopus, tuna tartare, scallop risotto, and bistro salad. The lattes were also absolutely delicious. To top it off, the service was phenomenal! Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Yelp
Bistro 31 sits snugly tucked inside Highland Park Village, described as a luxury shopping and lifestyle experience plaza located in Dallas. For some context, the surrounding Highland Park area is the most affluent city in Texas, and I believe in the top 10 in the United States. They can be described as a modern european bistro with spanish and french influences. What stood out for me immediately was the high level of service from the onset of my experience here. The young man who was our waiter would put to shame waiters twice his age. For my first experience here, I went with the Bistro Omelet(egg whites, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes and gruyere), which was one of the better omelets I've had in recent memory. Fresh, light, and delicate. Our party was seated outside on the patio next to nearly 3 heat lamps. It became so toasty, we asked our waiter if he could turn down one of the heat lamps, which he graciously obliged. A good problem to have. If you're in the area, and looking for an exquisite dining experience, it would be difficult to imagine not being impressed by Bistro 31.

Yelp
Located in the glitzy Highland Park Village, Bistro 31 serves what they label as Modern European cuisine and which comes with the appropriate matching ambiance. They do feel upscale and their staff we dealt with were all polished and friendly. A group of us met up for brunch a few Saturdays ago. We were seated outside and there were so many heat lamps that we actually asked if they could turn one of them down. This is a good problem to have for most people, especially me. For my first time here, I ordered the Escargot Bourguignonne(Garlic, Parsley, Butter)and the Bistro Omelete(Egg Whites, Spinach, Tomato, Mushroom, Gruyere). Both dishes were light, tasty, and cooked to perfection. As I mentioned, the service here is fantastic and top notch. Bistro 31 serves tasty food in a beautiful and comfortable setting. If you're visiting the area and looking for a brunch spot, you would not go wrong by stopping on through here when you're in the Dallas area.
