"Buy his butters at Maison du Beurre — you can go traditional or try his range of flavored butters, even his Salé 4%, which has crunchy salt crystals — or taste them in action at his restaurant Bistro Autour de Buerre." - Kristy Alpert

Amazing experience, on arrival we were served an amuse bouche then bread with a selection of butters, the server explained what they all were, I had scallops , seabass and chocolate souffle, my husband had mushroom ravioli, Lamb and Hazelnut balls, every course was so nice with fantastic flavours, a really enjoyable experience.

Unbelievable degustation of beautifully made butter! The Mt. Saint-Michel lamb menu was fabulous, it was super tender and juicy. Overall service and atmosphere were top-notch, we couldn't be happier. Amazing experience!

We had a delicious meal here, butter and bread is fantastic as a few posters have mentioned. Lady that served us was very nice...attentive enough without being intrusive. Relaxed feeling restaurant, looks very cool only suffered from lack of customers on the night we were there (Tuesday) which is a shame as people are missing out on some lovely food. Not cheap but a good quality dining experience

Definitely worth to eat there to try their 8 butters platter! Delicious food for 28 euros for 3 course. Very good wine but a bit expensive. The service wasn't very good, they need to improve it.

Slow and cold service. Food is excellent but it is more gastronomic than "Bistro" cuisine. The two waitress did make the place feels cold which is a shame because the food and concept is great. We ordered the day's menu at 1:40pm and finally got out at 3:30pm on a weekday mid September. There was still a table that arrived before us waiting for their desert.

Anywhere I travel I always look for some inventive yet food that responsible to the culture. Here we found it. Delicious butter board with eight different butters. Wine quite good and the pigeon that was on the menu was perfectly cooked: Soft and buttery texture. Highly recommend.

A good restaurant with some gastronomic dishes. I put a 3, that is not a bad mark for me, more because of the service that was pretty average and the value for money. It is not cheap but the food is good. The place is really well furnished, quiet atmosphere. Most of the dishes offer a mix of salty and fruity products but it is well balanced, so do not be afraid if you do not like in general these mixes. On top you have a Bordier butter plate to taste 8 of different ones. Sure next time, withou Covid and masks, the service will be better. So do not hesitate to try it if you are fine with the price range.

It was one of the highlights of our stay in Saint-Malo, even if we ended up really full and buttery! 😅 (Not advised if you are on a diet, for sure!) This restaurant’s menu works around the famous Bordier butter (used in a lot of Michelin-starred restaurants in France). The starters and mains are really refined and on top of your orders you get to try a selection of Bordier butters with some bread: the classic salted butter, the yuzu butter, the olive oil and lemon butter, the buckwheat butter, the fennel butter, the piment d’espelette butter... and the famous seaweed butter!!!

Yelp
Autour de Beurre is a restaurant designed to showcase the butter creations (yes, butter creations!) of Jean-Yves Bordier. Basically, this is a butter-centric restaurant. It had to be good, right? And it was! The atmosphere was super-cosy, warm and inviting. And the food was even better. It's a small little bistro so we were a little cramped, but it was worth it. We ordered a lobster lunch, which highlighted the different parts of the lobster paired with different variations of Bordier's butter. It was damned good. And we washed it down with a bottle of wine. I could get used to lunches like this! Later in the day we came back to Bordier's butter store (it was closed after lunch because, uh, this is coastal France and things just close in the afternoon). I highly recommend this store. I wish we could have brought back lots and lots and lots of butter but was we know, butter doesn't travel well in a suitcase. But the store had lots of other stuff to offer, including an amazing (albeit small) museum of BUTTER! Seriously! It was really cool. If you're ever in Saint-Malo, don't miss this!
