Specialty Coffee, But Make It Fun | Eater

"Founded in 2020 by a 26-year-old founder, this queer woman–owned coffee brand emphasizes playful, accessible specialty coffee through bold products (a cow-print moka pot called the “Mooka,” a red French press with heart cut-outs, and bright holographic bean bags covered in smiley faces), lively pop-ups using a lavender espresso machine, and irreverent social media storytelling that leans into memes and personal anecdotes. The company positions itself against specialty-coffee elitism—encouraging simple home methods like the French press rather than expensive gear—and frames flavored or sweet drinks as valid entry points to specialty coffee while explicitly aiming to be fun, approachable, and community-oriented." - Bettina Makalintal

The dinning experience in BISTRO Couplet was fantastic! I visited this restaurant with wife and she also enjoyed the food and time there. No worry the language issue if you can speak English! By the way … I am from Taiwan :)

The beef stew is great. They use the beef cheek and marinate it for one day. Cook it. And the. Marinate it again. Its a 3 day process and very good. Its my french girlfriend's favorite meal and it reminds her of how her mom makes it. Very good for the price (better than some michelin restaurants) Especially for the price. Highly recommended

Cozy spot hidden away in Aoyama. Excellent food and wine. Local ingredients with French preparation.

Tasty French/Italian options adapted to Japanese ingredients (fusion) like an “ayu fish risotto” but unfortunately extremely small portions even for Japanese standards. Special mention to the cheese and bread, probably the smallest I have seen in my entire life, borderline ridiculous. Worth mentioning the lamb, it was super tender, cooked to perfection and wrapped in pancetta for extra flavour and crunchy texture. The winner of the night!!Good wine selection of French and American wines albeit very over-priced.

Delightful little bistro in Omotesando. If you’re looking for something a little less casual but not too formal or too posh, Couplet will fit the bill. The food and service are excellent, and the wine pairing recommendations well suited. We went with the course which was excellent value which is why I rated this place so highly. Tokyo has some of the world’s best restaurants but yen for yen this place over achieves. No doubt it’s a bistro in style with charcuterie board, authentic baguettes imported from France partially finished/frozen and baked on site and obligatory cheese plates and patisserie style desserts, but everything is a little stepped up which makes you feel spoiled for around ¥10,000. Venison was great, the surprise hit was the whelks and mushroom course. The counter seats allowed us to interact with the talented French chef and see his passion and talents. No doubt we’ll become regulars

It's one of the best French food I had so far in Tokyo. It's really cozy, delicious and the staff is really friendly! They can speak Japanese, English and French which is a plus to the absolutely delicious food! it is really worth going there! I would recommend it to anybody as the chef can also adapt creatively to your taste. I'll definitely go back!
