The Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week, Fall 2018 - Eater NY

"Take one high quality, extra-long frank and stick it in a fresh demi-baguette, along with sautéed bell peppers and onions, melted Swiss cheese, and grainy mustard, and you’ve got Bistro Eloise’s phenomenal French hot dog ($12). Every day is brunch day at newcomer Eloise, and other highlights of the lunchtime menu include a pork bell sandwich, gooey French onion soup, and a whole roster of omelets and buckwheat-flour savory crepes. Obscurely located in a Jackson Heights shopping center." - Eater Staff

This little French bistro tucked away in the corner of a little shopping plaza was the best choice that we made on a random Thursday. Let's start with the server he was absolutely superb, extremely attentive, caring and thoughtful. Next let's move on to the food. We ordered three appetizers. Firstly the baked brie was incredibly amazing, cutting into it the brie oozed out and paired perfectly with the honey and the balsamic. It was a wonderful combination probably our favorite dish of the day. Next was the mussels. They were tender and sweet to the taste, extremely fresh!! Lastly for the appetizer was the escargot a classic French cuisine. The escargot was fresh and the parsley garlic oil was to die for. Dipping the bread in the parsley garlic butter had my taste buds dancing all over the place. For the 2 entrees we got the boeuf bourguignon and the le cassoulet. The boeuf bourguignon was amazing, tender, flavorful, where it all fit together like a glove. Lastly the le cassoulet was great. The duck was fall/pull apart tender and paired perfectly with the white beans. For the pricing for a French restaurant we thought it would be expensive, but the prices were actually fair. Will definitely come back to try more dishes!!

I went with my girlfriend, the Lobster Bisque was light and amazing with some bread. The Filet Mignon was smooth and soft along with gratin side.

This is our second time here. This first was for my birthday and the second for our anniversary. It just has that special place feel to it. The escargot is mind blowing as is the foi grois and pate. I ordered steak au poive both times bet it’s just that good. Above all, the service is amazing. We went on a Tuesday and there was one waitress for the entire place and she killed it. So glad I don’t have to go to manhattan for this kid our quality and experience.

I have been in this place with my husband multiple times. It’s always really good! It got really busy on a Friday dinner. We were glad we made a reservation.

Google
For the first time ever I’m kind of confused how to really grade this place. Some of the dishes are perfection, while others are so far from French cuisine. The tartare for instance, I asked what ingredients were in it and I was told ketchup along with other things that I can’t remember because as soon as I heard ketchup, I was turned off and avoided it all together. The French onion soup also left so much to be desired and lacked flavor. The beef bourguignon was delicious along with steak. Both dishes cooked well and seasoned perfectly. Then you move on to desert and $13 for a crepe without a filling and just some fruit on top is just way over priced for what it is. Other places at least fill it with canned whipped cream to be cheap and still give you a “filling”. I don’t know? Just a very strange place. It’s like they kind of understand French food but also don’t at the same time? It was very hit or miss like there are two different chefs in the kitchen and one is French and the other is like from another planet and is trying to understand what French food is. I have no problem paying for quality but I just don’t think this has the quality for the price. This place isn’t bad but I also wouldn’t say it was great and you have to give it a try. It’s a good attempt at French food given the areas I wouldn’t say Queens is really known for French food but for more authentic places or even places that are at least somewhat decent when it comes to French-American Bistro, I wouldn’t go here. However, given that some of the food was great, I think 3 out of 5 stars is fair. The main reason why I deducted a star is because the service was so slow and it was not busy. I guess they added the Parisian touch of making you wait forever to get the servers attention.

Visited this restaurant yesterday 7/28/24 for the first time. The exterior of the restaurant may not be appealing when you get there, but as you walk in, you will experience the magic of the food the service and the music. Everything was perfect and Lorali is an exceptional and awesome waitress. I must return and recommend ❤️.

Me and my girlfriend have been to Bistro Eloise before, and it’s always a treat. This most recent video was no exception. We sat down a little bit closer to closing time than we would have liked, but the server was so kind and welcoming anyway. We even tried to order dessert early, since we knew they were getting close to closing, and the server assured us there was no rush and that we should just relax while enjoying our dinner. It was a great experience, and the food was delicious as ever. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This is a really good French bistro. It represents everything that comes to mind when one is craving French cuisine. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but is extended by an outdoors, covered dining area. The staff is really friendly and the menu includes just about all the most popular French dishes. We ordered the Terrine de fois gras, french onion soup, fries, bouillabaisse, and crepe Suzette. Everything that we ordered tasted good and were well executed. I appreciate that the dishes are made in the classical way and that the cook isn't trying to do some reimagined version of the well known French dishes. We ordered a house red, house white, dirty martini and espresso martini as well and all the drinks were pretty good too.

Yelp
It was ok, quite pricey actually (+) services was ok (+) space inside was a bit small/tiny, hard to maneuver (-) their brunch menu had only 4 selections (-) I don't think they're $$ , they're probably $$$. Their mains were average around $30 per dish. We ordered a seafood linguine which was off menu/their special for day, it was $45. The noodles were not enough for my 4 year old so you can imagine how small it was. We asked for more noodles on the side and that was another $8. Meaning we spent $53 on a kids meal lol. They were on the pricier side.

Yelp
We've been going here for years and all of the food is delicious! Big ups to the cod in champagne sauce. The staff is very friendly and the ambience is tres chic! Definitely feels like a French bistro. Prices can be on the higher side but everything is worth it. Why they didn't get 5-stars: Service. That is the only problem that I have here is the service is hit or miss. Sometimes it's good but most times it's spotty, depending on how busy they are.

Yelp
I swear I was on an episode of "No Reservations" when I pulled into the strip mall Bistro Eloise is located in. I didn't know what to expect, but everything my friend raved about this place was spot on. Get ready for some authentic French cuisine and European hospitality. Our server was a ninja in not spilling a drop of our filled to the brim dirty martinis. The filet minion and scallop risotto specials that evening were sublime as was their traditional Ile flouttante dessert. It felt like a childhood birthday party in your mouth - every kind of creamy and crunchy sweetness was present in each bite. The best ending to our experience was the complimentary glass of champagne served with a "thank you for coming." I can see why the locals pack this place every night. I would be right at home nestled in Eloise's cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
Had a burger here and they seemed reluctant to make it when I called to order for pick up. Upon arriving they were like "oh you're the one who ordered the burger" and went to get it LOL I died. Like - don't put in your menu if you don't wanna make it. Other than the attitude, that burger slapped. Kinda greasy but the good kind of greasy.

Yelp
One of the best French restaurants that I have been to in a while. Wow this was delicious! Excellent service and the staff were so sweet to my baby, giving her bread and suggesting what to order for her to eat. The restaurant is in a shopping center in Jackson Heights, so there is parking. Hard to get to on the subway as it is a good 12-15 min drive from Roosevelt Ave station. Well worth it. My whole family enjoyed the food, French decor; paintings. The French onion soup was melt in your mouth delicious. I ordered the moulles frites and it was incredible. My grandmother had the tastiest duck and my husband's chicken cordon blue was divine. My mother ordered the bouillabaisse, which was also delicious. We ended the meal with lattes, flan, and crepes. Dreaming about this meal I will be running back.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow wow wow!!! I had my birthday dinner as a party of 8 with a baby as well. The service from the moment we walked in to the moment we left was superb! Everything I tasted just melted in my mouth and made me so happy! I started with the one course I remembered to take a picture of the shrimp in garlic butter sauce. This was divine. One of the most flavorful mouthfuls I've ever had at a French restaurant. Shrimp cooked perfectly and the sauce is even better. It makes you keep eating the baguette after as the sauce is so addicting on the fresh bread. For my main I had the veal stew. So flavorful with very soft melt in your mouth meat and perfectly cooked veggies. For dessert we had French cheesecake, chocolate mousse and crepes Suzette. All the desserts were delicious . Run don't walk to Bistro Eloise

Yelp
I've been to Bistro Eloise twice; both times to celebrate my birthday! This may be a start of a new tradition! Bistro Eloise is fantastic. They serve all the classic French dishes that everyone craves. The problem is picking which dishes to order! What a menu! On this visit, 3 of us shared the following dishes: -- Escargot ($12/6pcs): incredibly delicious dish! The snails were perfection and the garlic butter herb sauce is to die for. Don't forget to dip the French bread into the sauce. Don't waste a single drop of the sauce! -- Mussels ($22): This is an entree, but we ordered this as an appetizer. The generous amount of mussels came in a pot; served in a white wine broth, with french fries on the side. Another outstanding dish. Even the French fries were great! We ended up asking to take home the leftover broth since it was so good. Don't waste the broth! -- Duck a L'Orange ($33): The duck breast is cooked to your preference ( rare, med, wed-done, etc). We ordered it medium, and it came out perfectly. It was served in an orange sauce, with garlicky string beans and a buttery mashed potato. The portion size was very generous, and we ate every single bit of it. Just delicious! Great dish and highly recommended. -- Baby Lamb Chops ($35/3 Chops): The lamb Chops are cooked to your preference (we ordered medium), and is served with asparagus and a buttery mashed potato. We were all happy that both of our dishes were served with mashed potatoes because it was THAT good! The lamb chops were very flavorful and tender. Another great dish. -- Lemon and Sugar Crepes ($9): this dessert was minimally sweet, which we liked; light and tasty! (If you like very, very sweet desserts, this dessert may not be for you). -- ile Flottante (floating Island) ($12): I've never had this before and it was a nice surprise! Toasted merengue on top of a delicious sauce. This was another dessert which was not overly sweet, which we loved. Very light, and a perfect way to end our decadent meal. What a fabulous birthday treat! I would return to Bistro Eloise anytime; not just for my birthday! Service and hospitality were wonderful! Restroom was super clean. Plenty of free parking, as this restaurant is located in a small shopping center. The owners of Bistro Eloise also owned Cote Soleil in Sunnyside, Queens, and Chez Olivia in Astoria, Queens. Sadly, both restaurants are now closed. But they also have a restaurant in Manhattan called Le Tout Va Bien, located on 51st St (between 8th/9th Ave).

Yelp
What a hidden gem. Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall in East Elmhurst is probably one of the best French restaurants there is in this part of Queens. Came here during the week for dinner and this place was absolutely packed. We were still able to get a table in the restaurant's covered outdoor expansion that must be left over from COVID. The proper interior of this restaurant was much cozier and decorated, but the food tastes the same no matter where you sit, so whatever. We split a bottle of wine to start, then had foie gras as an appetizer which was excellent. For our mains we both went with the Boeuf Borguignon which was a giant proportion, I ended up taking half of it home. It was melt in your mouth tender and absolutely delicious. Our waitress was French which added to the authenticity and vibes here. If you're craving French food and live nearby, highly recommend.

Yelp
I went to Bistro Eloise for dinner on a Thursday night for my partner's bday. He loves French food and I know this place is authentic. Food: 3/5 I like French food, but today the kitchen was backed up. Some dishes were total misses, like: - the lobster bisque, watery without the dairy - the oysters, still attached to their shells and okay sized - seafood linguine, very salty and not hot from the kitchen - scallop risotto, they did not use the right grain However, other dishes were wins: - cheesecake, nice sauce and solid - steak tartare, love the fresh egg yolk - ofc the bread!! I think they did okay, in terms of food. But, a disappointment from my last visit. Service: 3/5 Maybe it was because they were busy, but we waited over 30 mins between courses. First was oysters , then the soup and tartare, and finally our main course. The kitchen was backed up, the servicers were so busy on the floor the only update we got was, "wait 2 more mins." Candidly, it is not their fault and the labor shortage is real, but it really killed the experience for me. All in all, I would still go back but I was disappointed from my first time coming. I will probably not do specials going forward.

Yelp
My husband and I found this hidden gem in Queens, and we decided to have brunch here on one Saturday. The staff were so helpful and friendly, and we loved the brunch menu! The French onion soup was delicious. We look forward to another date here!
google avatar

Keia H.

Yelp
Had a chance to experience this gem on a Saturday afternoon and loved it. 2pm on a Saturday, Bistro Eloise was a last minute choice to have a quaint lunch with a new friend. Who would think will driving into the lot of what seems like a "strip mall" I would be transported to an "authentic Parisian Bistro". The waiter was zealous and friendly. He eagerly ushered us to a table. The walls were decorated with French relics, the tables sat close but with enough space to slip in and out of the bistro seats. It felt like I was sitting in the 4th arrondissement at my local bistro. I ordered the duck a l'orange and my friend ordered the filet mignon. The food and atmosphere was so exceptional that we stayed for crepes and coffee. If you want to escape for a bit and be transported to France... check out Bistro Eloise. You will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Joseph K.

Yelp
Food was amazing!!!! So artistic and beautifully executed The escargot not overly garlicky and piping out. Duck was delicious Server was very friendly and helpful in ordering Can't wait to get to the city and see what they have done with the historic ToutVie Bien. If it's as good as Bistro Eloise. It will be there for another 50 years The best to you guys.

Yelp
Food is consistently delicious! Crepes, croque madam, soups, salads, chicken cordon bleu, etc. all good! It is also a plus when the service is always great.
google avatar

M F.

Yelp
Food, service, staff & dining environment is absolutely delightful. The food is sensational, cocktails are outstanding, desserts supremely delicious.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
I always enjoy coming here whenever I pick up or drop anyone off at La Guardia. The owner madam is always gracious and peppers her speech with French. The background music is decidedly French bistro. It makes you feel like you're in France. Tonight I've had a glass of Cotes de Rhone. The special soup is squash which is tasty and hits the spot! For dinner there's sea scallops on risotto. Amazingly fresh and delicious. This is all just so delightful and relaxing. Glad to be here.
google avatar

Nav S.

Yelp
A great addition for the east Elmhurst. The food here definitely hits the spot and the service is super friendly. Not too expensive for an experience that could cost a lot more somewhere else. Definitely worth checking out!
google avatar

Loan T.

Yelp
Amazing food with great friends. If you come here - asks for Roman because he's the best person in the place!
google avatar

Tina N.

Yelp
The food was amazing. I typically don't get wow'ed by food because I like and eat Flushing and there's a lot of good food everywhere, but I was already planning my second trip here as I was eating dessert here. The people here were also sooooo nice, I don't know why I'm so jaded by humanity, but the kindness blew me away in addition to the food. We had a baby with us and she was getting hungry too; when I tell you the owner (I think she was the owner) dodged and backflipped to get that hot water and cool water to us, I couldn't believe it myself. The sincerity I felt at this place felt almost familial.
google avatar

kevin m.

Yelp
Truly one of the best French restaurants in all of NYC. Not only is the food amazing, but the staff make it even better. I've come here dozens of times, and I am never disappointed. Just don't go here for a quick meal...it's French and the experience is just like being in France. Food is to be savored and company enjoyed.
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've done French cuisine in Queens so when the opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance. First, this is one of those rare instances where there is parking. Located in the corner of a shopping center, you have a good shot of finding a spot event though the shopping center can get busy. Not a huge bistro but just the right size with a place to dine both in and outside. I was late to my scheduled lunch but the server did a great job of spacing everything out and getting our meals to us almost at the same time. I had the Croque Madame and it was delightful. For what could be a heavy sandwich was not heavy at all. The bechamel sauce was very good. The cheese was the perfect amount of melty. Not to be overlooked was the side salad that came with the sandwich. I don't know what kind of dressing that was on it, I'm guessing a Dijon vinaigrette, but I would buy bottles of whatever it was. We concluded lunch with a sweet crepe that had seasonal berries and a crème brûlée. Perfect ending to an awesome meal. Seriously, though, where can I get that dressing?
google avatar

Yelp
Charming employees and excellent food! It can be crowded at times--best to make a reservation.
google avatar

Elyse S.

Yelp
Very tasty meal for our group! Our appetizers were French onion soup..yum..foie gras...shrimp Provençal Our entrees were salmon and filet mignon and bouillabaisse and lamb chops. Everything was very tasty. The portions were enough to bring home leftovers. I will come back
google avatar

Debbie M.

Yelp
Cute little place. Food was delicious! Everything was good and beautifully plated. Service was great! There's a parking lot.
google avatar

Valeria D.

Yelp
This is a wonderful restaurant, I had soo much food , everything was delicious the escargot and the endive salada it was perfect As a main dish I had coc au vin and code fish au champanhe it was sooo good I really recommend this place The desert was the crepe suzete and the best I had in America

Nestor T.

Yelp
Had not been here before and based on reviews I was expecting more. The food was just ok. Nothing out of the ordinary . Took a long time to arrive. The service: slow like the escargot. I suppose many people are easily pleased, hence so many positive comments. Or maybe it was an off day for Bistro Eloise. My bad luck. I'll give them another try. Eventually.
google avatar

G. C.

Yelp
The scallops appetizer was very good. The mussels were very good. The mojito was very good. The steak, however, was almost inedible. It was dry, tough, and tasteless. The sauce made up for the taste, but not the dryness and toughness.
google avatar

Catherine Y.

Yelp
The food was pretty good, the service was friendly, and the restaurant had a casual cozy vibe. I've been to their bakery next-door, but I have never eaten at the restaurant. The prices seemed extremely reasonable, but the escargot were really small, and the duck breast entrée was half a duck breast. Definitely enough food, but smaller than other places making the prices seemingly more reasonable. I really enjoyed their nice crusty bread and the extremely flavorful escargot. The mussels and fries were also really good. Although served in a cute little pot, the pot served no purpose as you cannot reach the delicious broth until you've almost finished. The fries that came with the mussels were really well-made, I really enjoyed them, and I'm not really a fry person. We didn't have room for it so I packed it to go. The French onion soup was pretty tasty, nothing to write home about, but nonetheless delicious and at a reasonable price. The duck breast came out overcooked, so I had to send it back. The owner didn't seem to agree that the duck was not medium rare. However, she disagreed in the most polite way. She took the plate away and brought a new one. I really didn't need the string beans and mashed potatoes replaced as the string beans were flavorless and even though the mashed potatoes were delicious, we didn't need anymore. But it was nice and professional that she did. The second time my duck came out perfectly medium rare, and the skin was much better rendered. Overall, a really good meal without breaking the bank. Then we went next-door to Cannelle and bought some pastries before we left.

Yelp
Fancy. Intimate. Relaxing vibes. Great for groups. Inside, it's quiet enough to carry a conversation, yet also surrounded by gentle music. I love ambience in here! Truly, a date place by all means. Everything ordered here is amazing. Starting with the merguez sandwich (the Baguez) to the buckwheat swiss and ratatouille crepe, the taste here is phenomenal. I especially love the merguez and harissa flavor in the L'Orientale crepe. What a fun combination! I concur that the ingredients are fresh. Our waiter (perhaps the owner?) was sincerely patient with us, since we needed time to make some decisions presented with all these amazing options. We needed time to agonize and endure some analysis paralysis especially since I brought a couple of friends from Harlem who have some great French restaurants nearby...so I wanted them to have an awesome memorable experience. Hence, bringing them here to this classy bistro. Fortunately, we were one step ahead and knew to have drinks ordered to bide our time while we read the menus. I would like to mention that they have fun cocktails here. Like Sangria, Cosmo, Old Fashioned, Bellini, Bloody Mary, etc. I see other fun ones like for a festive moment like Champagne and sparkling wines as well. Feel free to take a look at their wine menu. It's pretty extensive. Eventually, we ordered crepes, sandwiches, and salad. They have something for every palate in case you like vegetarian or gluten free. I would highly recommend this place! Let me know what you have so I can try it too!

Yelp
Came in on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, for starters they had a few lsrge parties, there were 2 tables of 10 ppl, the restaurant was packed. Plus if you noticed the outside tent space has been reduced so there is less seating. Clearly we did not have reservations so we had to wait 20 mins to sit, we come here and we decided to eat here because we love the burgers which can be had in French baguette bread, totally awesome. Service unfortunately was very slow as that is unusual. Took another 20 minutes to get food, but when the burger in baguette came to table, we demolished it. The cheese, sauce and the meat are amazing, fries were warm but i did not care. The star of the meal is the burger! Juicy, well seasoned meat, with lots of flavor and they cook it to perfection!
google avatar

Bercin C.

Yelp
Good food, but the service is sloooow. Half an hour to bring over drink orders, another 15 minutes to take food orders, another half hour to bring the food, then almost an hour to bring the check. I normally don't care much about service but it gets kind of annoying when you spend more time waiting than eating. Menu is simple and authentic.
google avatar

M T.

Yelp
Not worth the price. I had the special- linguine with seafood. At best, it was uninteresting and bland. The clams and oysters were ok but the shrimp had no flavor and the lobster was dry, without the sweet, buttery taste it should have, and with a horrible texture, probably from being overcooked, I got the impression that it was a special because it was on the verge of becoming too old and spoiled. The Malbec was good but the price per glass on the online menu is $9 a glass, but in reality, it is $12. The service was decent but the waiter didn't take my feedback about the meal seriously even though I wasn't asking for any compensation It was my first visit so maybe it was just that particular dish but for the price, I'm not will to gamble on another try.
google avatar

Jebreh B.

Yelp
Still a classic. I miss the Sunnyside location, but this one will suffice. Same sweet old lady and her cohorts . The loss leader lobster salad is gone, but the other classics are still on the menu. The Merguez has quite the spicy kick . It's in a strip mall, which outside of California or long Island would be weird. It's a NYC gem

Yelp
What a cute little French bistro. I can't believe I never noticed it next to Canelle. I've heard so many great reviews about Bistro Eloise and finally got to try it. The venue is located in a shopping plaza that I frequent all the time. I love how attentive all the servers were at the restaurant. We were constantly being asked "how's the food...how is everything....etc". The French accents were an added bonus. I love it. For the food, the choices are very authentic. I wanted to try everything but had to narrow down my choices for my first time there. My friend and I ended up sharing the escargot and the baked Brie. Both dishes went so well with the basket of baguette and butter. We used the bread to soak up all the escargot sauce. Yum! The baked Brie was delicious with a side of salad, the cheese was warm and gooey and the crust had a wonderful crunch to it. Perfectly baked with a slight sweetness from the sauce. For the entrees, we both opted for ducks. One was l'orange duck and the other was duck confit with bacon, sausage and beans. My friend loved her l'orange duck. I didn't realize that my duck confit would be sitting in so many beans. The duck part was perfectly cooked but I didn't enjoy the beans part of the dish. No fault of the chef. We ordered a bottle of the Sancerre to share. It was smooth and very enjoyable. We will be back to try the other dishes for sure.

Yelp
Bistro Eloise never disappoints. Tried their Merguez ratatouille omelette and it was out of this world! Love the vibe of this family-owned French restaurant. It's a bit on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for - quality food, great atmosphere, and friendly staff. Perfect for a special occasion or when you just want to treat yourself to some authentic French cuisine.
google avatar

Peter M.

Yelp
generally a solid casual french food experience. also, has a parking lot since it's in a strip mall. food was solid. baguette is very good. french onion soup was ok and as expected. for entrees we had the beef bourguignon - very hearty, and duck a l'orange which was a touch overcooked, but yes, I did ask for medium going towards well. still, the duck had a some crisp to it. wines seem decent and reasonably priced. overall, would recommend. only knock was there isn't any bday extra's, but I understand that lots of places aren't even giving even a free dessert these days since the pandemic. if you do know of such a place, send me a message!

Yelp
I had dinner at Bistro Eloise during a recent visit to NYC at the suggestion of one of the the people in our party who lives in the neighborhood. Who would ever think that a casual, French bistro with outstanding food would be located in a shopping plaza? One of the advantages is plentiful parking but on the our dining experience... My friend made reservations via phone, which is highly recommended because the restaurant is not large. The menu offers something for everyone. For appetizers, we shared the baked brie, escargot, pate de foie, & shrimp. Mussels are usually my default entrée, I decided to try the fish & my friends shared bites of their dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious, with different depths of flavors. For dessert, we shared the floating island & profiteroles. Perfect ending to a delicious meal. Our server was warm, friendly & very helpful. There's a bakery next door (same owner) that has some outstanding croissants & pastries.

Yelp
Nice little French restaurant located in a strip mall. I've been wanting to try the escargot here for a while and it does not disappoint. The escargot came out bubbling hot. Be careful not to burn your mouth. It was full of garlicky goodness and comes with bread and butter. We also had the baked brie which comes with a salad. It was delicious especially with the balsamic vinegar glaze. For entrees, we had the salmon ratatouille and the duck breast. I found the duck a bit bland and wasn't fond of the ratatouille, but the duck was delicious! The sides that comes with the duck, string beans and mashed potatoes, were also delicious. The potatoes were a bit chunky and garlicky, just how I like it.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving dinner at Bistro Eloise this evening. turkey with ham, gravy and cranberry sauce was really tasty, brussel sprots were freshly cooked. Endive salad with goat cheese was the perfect starter, so fresh and crisp. Service was excellent, look forward to dining here again soon. So happy to find this cosy restaurant open on Thanksgiving day.

Yelp
I was so lucky to find this gem. Amazing food and even better service. Welcoming and friendly. I came to NY to see Audra McDonald in Gypsy. I booked a cheap Airbnb in Queens and was lucky to find a place that would fit me in with little notice on Thanksgiving evening. Travelling alone, in a city I'd never visited...I went back several times. The food was delicious and I felt welcomed and comfortable.

Yelp
The food was great -from the onion soup to the mussels to the shrimp appetizer to the scallops and steak frites. The desert crepes and chocolate lava cake were excellent. Service was very good and the outdoor area is dog friendly

Yelp
After getting settled into our Airbnb in Queens, we looked around to see what we wanted for dinner within walking distance. We found this great French restaurant right around the corner called @bistroeloisenyc. I got the Canard a l'Orange. Seared duck breast topped with an orange sauce served with rustic mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans. This was like a warm hug on a plate. The duck cooked to a tender mid-rare, topped with a slightly sweet orange sauce. The mashed potatoes had little chucks of potato in it, which is my favorite type of mash; rustic, homey. The green beans were delicious and still had a bit of snap to it. To finish things off, I got a salted caramel crepe. The crepe was wafer thin and a bit crispy; just perfect. What a great find! I normally have a carefully curated list of restaurants I want to visit when I go on vacation. This time, I left it to fate and I couldn't have been happier.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in East Elmhurst with amazing food and outstanding service. Our server Aurelie was so pleasant and informative as to dishes we ordered and we couldn't be more happy with the suggestions that she made. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My first time eating French food and certainly won't be my last.

Yelp
Made a reservation for a Sunday but there were plenty of tables open. Their covered outdoor extension was plenty warm. Service was attentive but a bit slow. The 3 appetizers we chose were amazing and entrees were just overall okay. Escargot: piping hot, delicious butter sauce, and fresh snails Pate Malson: despite it's look, it was wonderfully smooth, flavorful, and great consistency; comes with a small bed of salad Baked Brie: also a great pick with the perfect saltiness and savory flavors; comes with a small bed of salad Table bread: very lacking, not that soft, kind of dry, no taste Soup of the day (corn soup): tasted just like creamed corn with nothing to write home about Boeuf Bourguignon: the sauce was on point but unfortunately every piece of beef was dry. There was also a piece of plastic found in the dish!! Cassoulet (duck confit): the meat fell off the bone of the duck and it is in a savory bean soup. The portions were much too large to eat for me but packed it home Ratatouille: tasted pretty good Crème Brulee: very light dessert with a nice crunched glaze Floating Island: kind of like a marshmallow that's swimming in a sweet pool of melted ice cream; I'd recommend to skip this one

Yelp
Do you know why I love this place so much?! Its the consistency of their food and service. I love how cozy the restaurant is. You are always greeted and taken care of with a smile. The chicken cordon bleu tastes just as delicious as it did a few months ago.

Yelp
The food here is great! I've been coming here since right before the pandemic started and the food is the best French food I've had in Queens! Tonight we had the Chardonnay codfish that comes with a great Parmesan potato gratin and string beans. We also had the green peppercorn steak with French fries and the steak is always perfectly cooked to order and the sauce is amazing. We've also had the French onion soup, mussels, and crème brûlée here and all were really good. The one disappointing thing is that they don't have real outdoor dining, it's completely enclosed. They do takeout well though and the staff are really nice.
