The 37 Best Restaurants in St. Louis, Missouri

"When beloved French bistro Bar Les Freres shuttered, the loss to the local dining community felt palpable — until Michael and Tara Gallina, along with their Take Root Hospitality business partner Aaron Martinez, swooped in to open Bistro La Floraison in the space. The restaurant, which seats 40, is soft and elegant, with floor-to-ceiling persimmon-hued velvet curtains and a soft pink banquette. Like all of the Gallinas’ projects, every aspect of the restaurant is polished. The succinct menu highlights the essential gustatory joys of casual French dining: small plates (served on bone china) like gougeres and savory financiers, followed by a handful of entrees, including a glorious French fried chicken cordon bleu that’s a clever olive branch to the Midwestern clientele." - Holly Fann, Joel Crespo

The 32 Essential St. Louis Restaurants

"When beloved French bistro Bar Les Freres shuttered, the loss to the local dining community felt palpable. Last spring, Michael and Tara Gallina, along with their Take Root Hospitality business partner Aaron Martinez, swooped in to announce that they would open their fourth restaurant, Bistro La Floraison, in the old bistro’s place. The space, which seats 40, is soft and elegant, with floor-to-ceiling persimmon-hued velvet curtains and a soft pink banquette. Like all of the Gallinas’ projects, every aspect of the restaurant is seamless and polished. The succinct menu highlights the essential gustatory joys of casual French dining: small plates (served on bone china) like gougeres, savory financiers, country pate en croute, followed by a handful of entrees, including a glorious French fried chicken cordon bleu that’s a clever olive branch to the Midwestern clientele. While Bistro la Floraison is refined and taut, the small, gracious touches in homage to Bar Les Freres — like choosing a name that retains the same initials — provide a sense of continuity while inviting guests to see what has blossomed in its place." - Holly Fann

Incredible food, great atmosphere and fair pricing. We got crab toast and Parmesan soup for appetizer (both incredible), poached cod (delicate and yummy) and chicken cordon bleu (a bit on the heavier side but also delicious). For desert, pistachio financiers and pan perdu, both of which combined the warmth of the desert with cold ice cream for a delectable experience. Highly recommend, will come back.

Cocktails and wine were very good. Food not so much. We had the steak (found large peppers on top of what would have been a nice steak but peppers took over the whole dish. Literally shreds of potato sticks on the top of steak as well that gave you no real enjoyment). The fish was also a huge disappointment- striped bass that had an overly potent taste of sage or oregano and the beans were hard. Flavor was waaay off on the steak and fish. The apps were also a huge disappointment- the crab toast was a very strong fishy flavor that they overdid it with the sauce so the (mayo mixture?) over took the crab. Yuck. The waiter however was attentive except at one point it took forever to get our wine to go with the food, so we were halfway done with our dishes by the time the wine arrived. The restaurant wasn’t even that busy. The bartender seemed to be busy talking to the couple at the bar. Overall we would go back for the cocktails.

Hands down the best birthday dinner I have ever had. I am not from Saint Louis, and had a very hard time finding a French cuisine restaurant that ticked all the boxes for food, atmosphere, service. It was absolutely wonderful. Their cocktail Menus ! Finally a place that really had a refreshing cocktails with color, texture and aroma ! Fabulous The servers where so sweet, the environment was light calm and intimate. Their plating was beautiful the dishes made you smile. I could not stop saying YUM throughout the entire meal. The meat MELTED. My dish tasted like a cool summer day in a beautiful garden. So delicious ! They surprised me with a dairy free frozen treat with dark chocolate chips and a candle. Thank you for that I was so surprised and it was lovely. Our server Emily, thank you for making my birthday very delightful. And thank you to the very tall server sorry I didn’t not catch your name but offering to take a photo of me and my partner - the photo was perfect! Thank you, I plan to continue return and will try your other restaurants.

This meal was incredible. I didn't know there was food this refined in St. Louis as it was my first time visiting. My boyfriend and I started off with the Tour de France, which I highly recommend, it was a big highlight of our meal. Next, we got the local asparagus and the steak tartare. I've had steak tartare many times and this one was one of my favorites. For the entree, I ordered the trout and my boyfriend got the Parisian gnocchi, both were incredible. We finished off the meal with the pain perdu, it was so satisfying and i cannot stop thinking about how darn good it was! We also had a scoop of their lemon poppyseed ice cream, which i've never had anything like before, it was wonderful. Bistro La Floraison really surprised me, the flavors and textures of each bite were extremely mouthwatering and elevated. The service was very good as well which made this the perfect date night!

Google
This is a review from quite a while back, I never really did reviews until just recently, so now I’m going back and reviewing places that I felt deserve it! The French onion soup here was exquisite!!! Not sure that it’s even on the menu at this point because the night that I was there I was told that it was newly on the menu and may only be temporary….regardless it was excellent!!

Google
Best experience in St. Louis yet! The food was excellent: even the olives were to die for!!! The braised short rib will melt in your mouth. The drinks were perfect. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. And the staff is very helpful and pleasant. Thank you!

Google
Had a wonderful time. We came for our anniversary and the staff was very friendly and told us happy anniversary many times. The food was delicious. I had the stripped bass and my wife had the fried chicken cordon blue and they were both incredible. The bread and butter are great as well. Our server Emily was very friendly and did a great job. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion.

Google
Must-do for a date in Clayton. You may not speak French but you will get taste of France. Each dish was pice of art: chips with caviar, patte, beef, halibut - all was prepped to perfection. Space inside and outside, not for a large party. But dinner for two - perfect! Great, attentive service. Parking on the street

Yelp
Charming French bistro. We came for dinner right after we had that crazy snowy, icy days. Of course, it took a while to get a parking spot and when I say this, I meant, to drive up an iceberg and hope your car can make it off of it without incident. My husband dropped me off by the door and I came in, was immediately seated (we had reservations), and the waiter came immediately but said he will be back when I told him my husband was still trying to park. He brought waters to the table but patiently waited. The tables were typical of French bistro I've been to in the area which were on the smaller, dainty end. Unless you're in a larger party then you get a normal sized table. I love the vibe of the place, the oversized glass windows, the fanciful curtains, and the overall brightness of the decor. Very refreshing. When my husband finally came, we ordered some cocktails. I tried their french 75 and he, the melon pisco sour. Both were good, solid cocktails. We opted for the prixe fixe and started with the French onion soup. Since this is a French bistro, is it appropriate to just say onion soup? I'm not sure but it was delicious, cheesey and full of flavors. A perfect start to our meal. Also doubled as a sure way to warm up. I then opted for the scallops for my entrée which was served with some roasted cauliflower. Very good. I really had no complaints. To finish off the meal, I had the chocolate tort. Again, chef's kiss. Needless to say, our service was wonderful. The staff were very patient, quick, and friendly. I could not ask for a better experience and I can't wait to return!

Yelp
Went here to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was such a pleasant experience. Right off the bat, this place is fancy so be prepare for the fare. We did the special 3-course meal for $50 per person and it was a pretty good deal, cheaper than if you were to order from the menu. I love the setting and the vibe of the restaurant. It's classy but also cozy and romantic perfect for date nights. I think the food is good but I don't know if I'm fully convinced. The roast chicken was well seasoned but the texture was dry. I wouldn't recommend ordering that. The gnocci was really good! However, would it justify the price? I don't know.

Yelp
Lovely French restaurant on Wydown in Clayton. If you remember Bar La Frère, it's exactly the same as it was back then we had a reservation. It is a very small resto do you'll need one. I suppose because it was so frigid that night, people didn't want to leave so we got seated a half hour past our reservation. The manager was very nice, apologized and sent us complimentary Gougères. That was nice!! They were perfectly made and were délicieux! Our server was wonderful. Very attentive and asked if we had any food allergies. The menu of course is tres Français. We had a bistro burger, Parisian gnocchi and roasted chicken. All well made and came hot to the table. The French onion soup was so good. Rich broth and a crunchy cheesy toasty top. Perfect on a cold snowy night. Very good cocktail and wine list. French 75 was great. You can order from the regular menu or they have a prix fixe menu Tuesday-Saturday. Spritz hour is their happy hour and it's just that for one hour between 5-6. They have build your own spritz cocktails and served by the piece apps. Also a burger and Tour de France (a sampler of all their apps. Great place, fantastic service. Oh and get the chocolate torte! It is heaven on a plate. Not heavy or dense. Just perfect. Street parking with one really small public parking lot so be prepared to hoof it. Cheers!

Yelp
This is a quaint little spot that packs an amazing punch on flavor and quality. I had the Dame de la Nuit to drink. I love that it came with a sidecar of sparkling wine to add at will. We started with the duck patte, steak tartar and fried oysters. The duck patte was the perfect consistency served on thick bread with an apricot dollop that really kicked off the flavor. The steak tartar was served with chips. It was a simple but delicious dish. The oysters were fried to perfection and melted in your mouth. They disappeared quickly! For dinner, we shared the gnocchi plate and the monkfish. The gnocchi was slightly pan fried on the outside and had a wonderful flavor. It was like tiny pillows in my mouth. The monkfish was really wonderful. This is a more dense fish, much like lobster and it was cooked to perfection. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend for a date night or special night out!

Yelp
Bistro La Floraison is a must try! It's delectable French food makes it worth making a reservation for. The place gets packed on the weekends so a reservation is highly recommended. We tried the French Onion Financiers - there were delicate and delicious! The duck liver mousse is my absolute favorite and a must try! It's so creamy and doesn't taste gamey at all. For the mains, we tried the Mussels, Parisian Gnocchi and the Monkfish Veronique. Our favorites were the Mussels and the Gnocchi. They were both flavorful and well made. For dessert, we had Pain Perdu which was a perfect end to the meal. In addition to the food, we tried a few cocktails - the Toronto was our favorite! Our server was very attentive and patient with us. She walked through the menu with us and gave us recommendations as well.

Yelp
Excellent place for a post work girls happy hour. We came for the spritz hour before dinner at Oceano. We got a variety of spritz' from the options listed (they let you customize, how fun!) and caviar on chips. Caviar was divine and the custom spritz' were gorgeous, huge and delicious. Warning... they catch up to you quicker than you would think ;) Beautiful flowers outside - perf for a cute insta photo op - but we sat inside on plush couches (and were not disappointed, it is giving the dream tea party you always wanted as a girl). The service was top-notch, the bartender was reading a newspaper and made a spritz in like 2 minutes flat (way cooler than me). Will be back soon !

Yelp
A wonderful experience at Bistro La Floraison! Starting with the Tour De France as an appetizer, which allowed us to sample a variety of hors d'oeuvres. The caviar chips were to die for. As was my entree, the fried chicken cordon bleu. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was so friendly and so much fun. He made amazing drinks as well! Everything was simply magnifique!

Yelp
Food: 5 Stars Service: 5 Stars If you're interested in a little bit of French magic in the kitchen, be sure to visit Bistro la Floraison for an evening to remember. Reservations book quick, so you'll want to plan well in advance to secure a spot. Street parking is usually available near the restaurant. I love that much of the decor was retained from the Bar les Frère days. The intimate and elegant dining space make for a great date night. We loved our server, who from the get go, was warm and welcoming. He had a great sense of humor and overall, we loved his presence and appreciated his suggestions for the evening. The restaurant boasts a short menu, but the dishes presented are anything but. You'll come across beautiful flavors and a variety of textures, creating a sort of magic in your mouth. Some our favorites include: - Devilled Eggs: Golden Kaluga caviar, smoked creme fraiche, chives - French Onion Financiers: Almond, thyme oil, comte cheese - Steak Tartare: Steamed egg yolk, crispy shallots, smoked bone marrow vinaigrette, salt and vinegar potato chips - Main Bouchot Mussels: Spanish chorizo, sofrito, white wine and saffron broth, toasted baguette - Chestnut Mont Blanc: Pedro Jimenez sherry, chocolate ice cream, mascarpone cremeaux Tips: Ask for any specials that evening and order it. You won't be disappointed. Cocktails are alluring and will have you lingering around for more.

Yelp
What an experience! We had walked past this place many times but we decided to have a birthday dinner here and we couldn't have been happier! Everything was sublime, from the starter course (Tour de France) to the drinks, salads, entrees, and deserts! Our waitress was also the bartender and she was terrific!!! The room itself was also very neat with high ceilings and interesting decorations! The website also made it very easy to make reservations.

Yelp
This is easily one of the best brunches I have ever had. I took my mother for an early Mother's Day celebration and both of us cannot stop talking about how good this was! The crepes and frittata were so tasty. A little heavy yet nice and light with the fresh veggies incorporated. The French onion financiers are a must try! The burst of flavor in each bite is easily one of the best small bites around. Plenty of patio seating outside but the inside is just so cute with a Parisian feel.
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
Quaint atmosphere on the patio (where we sat) and inside make for a relaxing somewhat upscale experience. We are not huge fans of (or well versed) in French cuisine, but we enjoyed every dish here! We started with a drink (nice selection of cocktails & some mocktails!) and ordered the appetizer sampler to try a few things. The oysters and financiers were our favorite on that. I opted for the fish and my husband the chicken cordon bleu. Both were nicely balanced and not too heavy! We won't be rushing back but we're pleased with our experience. The service was attentive and the meal was paced well.

Yelp
The ambience is perfect Parisian bistro with marble topped cast iron tables and a sumptuous pink velvet banquette. Chandeliers dangle elegantly from the ceiling. The service is much friendlier and more approachable than what one might expect in Paris. It was perfectly attentive without being intrusive. All of the servers seemed to work together. The wine list is good and our choice was spot on. They have a Tour de France appetizer that is worth trying if you are unfamiliar with caviar or pate; however,if you are serious about those luxury foods you might want to skip it and save room for where this restaurant shines. I was sad to see the beef bourguignon was no longer on the menu. We had the chicken cordon bleu and the halibut. The chicken was a solid rendition, although I would have preferred melted gruyere rather than a sauce inside the chicken. The halibut was amazing. Perfectly cooked, not fishy, on a bed of a sauce with green parsley and other herbs and a delicious sauce on top. For dessert, I cannot recommend the Pavlova enough. The meringue is light and crispy. The berries and ice cream are luscious. It was not cheap! It was; however, worth every penny.

Yelp
I visited Bistro La Floraison with my foodie girlfriends and we had an absolute blast over great food! The spritz hour cocktails and fair is the perfect way to start your evening meal. Please allow time for this and indulge completely. The French onion financiers are my favorite item on the menu next to the oysters. The trout toast was also a favorite among the group. For my entree I chose the short rib because I was hungry! It's a filling entree so be sure to bring your appetite for that one. I also sampled my friend's salmon entree. It looked so bleak and simple but was probably the BEST salmon I've ever tasted (I fished salmon and trout on the Great Lakes y'all so that's quite the compliment). I love that the menu changes seasonally so you have to visit every so often to get the full experience. Our wait staff was fun and very knowledgeable and accommodating. We had a few good laughs with them as well and definitely will return.

Yelp
Loved our dinner at bistro la floraison! The service and ambience are great too. We got the French onion financiers which were this cake like thing with cheese on top and they were delicious. Our favorite was the stuffed peppers which had hot chicken mousse inside, ricotta gnudi which was described as soft gnocchi, and the salmon. My husband and I both tried two different spritz and they were great as well! Our waitress was extremely friendly and helped us with suggestions and her recommendations were on point! We usually opt to sit outside but it was a cute setup inside. We'll definitely be back for dinner and spritz hour

Yelp
10/10 all around... from the decor, to the service, to the food, to the full experience... my partner surprised me with a birthday dinner here and we had a wonderful experience. If you're wanting to try a bit of all their delicious food I would highly recommend the "Tour de France" and you'll get a variety of starters for two. We also shared a beet and goat cheese salad, which was delightfully refreshing before our meal. He ordered steak with eggplant, peppers, and potatoes and I ordered the (corn) gnocchi, which was surprising because it was pan seared and had a nice crisp to it! We ended the meal with basque cheesecake (still droooooling) and they brought me a scoop of ice cream with a candle for my birthday. All of the cocktails we ordered were delicious, fresh, and had a unique twist. We capped it all off with an espresso martini, which is always a great idea :) ... honestly, anything you order would be delicious! They also have a great Spritz Happy Hour with oysters and caviar chips, which we can't wait to check out!

Yelp
I was blown away by the food and service at Bistro La Floraison! I've eaten next door at Akar many times and didn't even know the name of this restaurant until I saw it on eater.com's list of Essential STL Restaurants. They take reservations on Tock, but I didn't have any issue getting a table without one. Our waiter was top notch, welcoming and informative. Every dish we tried were unique and delicious! Pain de Maison $6 - Great starter load of baguette with a nice crunchy crust. French Onion Financiers $12 - Not sure what I was ordering here, but tasted like cake with delicious savory cream icing. Must try! Green Garlic Vichyssoise $16 - Another mystery dish we thought was a salad but was, in fact, a cold soup. So good, you have to try it for yourself! Ricotta Gnudi $32 - Similar to gnocchi, very pillowy balls with creamy citrusy sauce. I'll have to come back and try their Spritz Hour Wednesday-Sunday from 5-6pm where they offer smaller portions of their snacks. .|\---/| | o_o | .\_^_/..2023

Yelp
When my date showed up late (due to me not knowing the restaurant across the street is "by reservation only" and you can't just have drinks... so we went across the street for drinks to Bistro La Floraison. My date had a glass of wine and I had a couple glasses of Gene'vre such a wonderful beverage ... sweet but not overly and I asked for the mixologist to go light on the Amaro (which is a bitter). Perfection! Local art Quaint and sensual ambiance Lots of seating and can host small parties (groups of at least 8). Fun place to meet a friend or loved one! Or even a business clientele.

Alex S.

Yelp
Found it pretty disappointing. The wasn't seated until 15 minutes after reservation. The seating was uncomfortable and way too bright inside. The food wasn't bad but just not nearly worth the price. The portion sizes (particularly the meat) was very small and none of the listed ingredients shined through in the meal. For example, you couldn't really even taste the beef in the burger because it was barely any meat and mostly cheese/sauce. We got the prix fixe and an additional appetizer and entree and we were still hungry when we left. Some things were also just bad (gnocchi) and some were actually good (bread pudding). Aside from the hiccup at the beginning the service was good so that's why I'm not giving 1 star.

Yelp
We came here with my sister and brother in law and new son! Parking meters on Wydown or Hanley directly out front, and for Sunday brunch there were plenty available! Loved the decor, ambiance of the place, very chic, there's one room with larger tables for bigger parties and a "pink" room for one-one. Service was very attentive, drinks were a little slow to come out but food was great and I would recommend! I tried the mushroom frittata and my partner got the bistro burger!

Yelp
Delicious foods, caring & attentive service, and very romantic ambiance. We made a reservation and they had a table ready for us on time. Highly recommend Edith Piaf's big heart for mocktail lovers, it was moderately sweet with perfect amount of lemon juice. I absolutely love soup in Maine Bouchot Mussels, they were slightly creamy and flavorful. The baguette was nicely buttered. My husband liked his pork chop, their new addition to the menu. Pain Perdu was the highlights of our dinner, we will be back again even just for this toasted bread with perfect combination of gelato and caramel sauce!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a delicious Sunday brunch with great food and great service! We loved the ambiance and felt like we were back in Europe! 10/10 would highly suggest for brunch!

Yelp
First time at a French restaurant in St Louis many in NY where we live! This restaurant was excellent and I would recommend it highly. Food and service were perfect. Ambiance was very comfortable. Prices were quite reasonable. What more can I say. Give them a try. Parking is tough. Check the lot across the street. We were lucky! Enjoy!

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about Bistro La Floraison! First of all, ask for Damian if you go! The vibe is so chic and romantic at the same time. The drinks were delicious but the food was just amazing. We ordered a multitude of items between the 3 of us to split... but my favorites were the scallops (SO good) and the cheesecake. The financiers were a great starter as well and the French onion soup is a generous portion! Don't sleep on the chicken cordon bleu. This place is a must try!!

Yelp
Recently opened Bistro La Floraison is my date night pick for September. The restaurant and wine bar has a beautiful decor and perfect patio to enjoy the cooler fall weather! Reservations online! MY FAVS: Gougeres, Smoked Trout Rillette Toast, Fried Chicken Cordon Bleu

Yelp
Went here with a group for a friend's birthday. The space is gorgeous--big windows, wood floors, cushy banquettes. The service was stellar. We had Riley, and she was on top of things, even with a large group! The restaurant gave my birthday-having friend a scoop of Clementine's on the house, which was so sweet. What brings the rating down for me are a few drawbacks. The by-the-glass wine list was really, really limited. The sauv blanc I had was good but not amazing, and its price was quite high. I ordered the bread from Union Loafers which was delicious and came with a beautiful schmear of fresh butter. I was expecting the bread to be warm, but it was room temp. I like that it's served in a piece of wax paper, but it would be better for sharing if it came in a dish that could be passed around. I tried one of my friend's gruyere creme, which was almost cold and sort of gritty (not in a good way). For my meal, I had the ricotta gnudi, as did the two people sitting nearest me. At a restaurant of this caliber, I was expecting sauce that you want to eat with a spoon, but this wasn't that. The french plums felt out of place. The gnudi was pretty delicious, but it was not warm enough. Overall, an okay experience, but I probably won't be back. There's just so much good food in St Louis!

Yelp
It's so cute inside and that was the first thing I noticed! Very pink, very French! I overall enjoyed my food and experience. My short rib was soooo tender! I switched out my pommes paillasson (way too oily for me) for a simple side salad, and that was delicious and light. The smoked trout toast was very good, but the toasted bread was really hard around the edges, and hard to eat. Service was helpful and efficient. Would love to return and try dinner!

Yelp
let's start with the outstanding service. I walked in for sunday brunch no reservations. the hostess offered to take my coat and the server brought me water while I waited for a table. the place is super cute french modern style. our meals also did not disappoint. my friend had the frittata which looked amazing and I had the omelette which was oh so good and filled with creamy delicious cheese. it came with some colorful fresh salad on the salad. I will definitely be going back.
google avatar

Yelp
Romantic ambiance, perfect for a date night! Most of the tables only seat 2 people with only a few that fit 4 or more. The food is definitely on the fancier side, with options of caviar and oysters on the menu. I really enjoyed the heirloom salad and ricotta gnudi. They were the perfect summer dishes, with all of the produce locally grown from Winslows Garden. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. She made great recommendations on all of our food choices and cocktails. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
This restaurant was once a place I loved called Bar Les Freres. I waited impatiently during covid for it to reopen. It never did. It was sold and rehabbed, slightly. Thank God it's still here, and, I might add, other than the old dark ambiance, it is better. The staff was more hands-on and talkative than before. The walls are brighter, the sofas are now pink. There are no longer portraits of strange fellows, 5 foot iron crosses, or animal antlers hanging from every wall. The menu is smaller, but the food is grand-er. We ordered caviar, because Im a brat and it is my favorite thing to eat. We also had the cod, the short ribs, and the pavlova. We kept a menu and just kept ordering. Everything that touched our mouths was so delicious. We had to try more. We can not wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. Still my favorite place!

Yelp
This is one of the best brunches in town, diverse offerings and delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful and the service is always top knotch.

Yelp
Delicious food, nice atmosphere, good service. This spot still has the same relaxing vibe as the previous incarnation. It's a nice, unhurried meal. We came for brunch and were checked on frequently during our meal by numerous staff, whether checking on how we liked our food, filling our beverages, or clearing dishes and utensils. The wife's first bite of her French omelette was followed by, "Oh, my. This is really good." She speculated that they chef must use cream rather than simply milk to give it the smooth creaminess. Not sure what the cheese was, but definitely not a simply cheddar. Again, much creamier and richer. My croque madame was also excellent, with obviously quality ingredients and cooked to perfection - hot throughout without being overcooked. Both plates came with mixed greens salads. This was just greens and a light dressing, but the greens were a tender, young mix. And the dressing vinegar/oil (?) had a light tartness to it that went well to offset some of the savory richness of the main plates. For brunch, you can order a pastry as a dessert option. These pastries are fresh baked from Winslow's Table. We opted for a strawberry scone, which was glazed and came with whipped butter and a fresh made jam. Nice way to end the meal.

Yelp
Bistro La Floraison has been on my list since it very first opened. I immediately noticed the gorgeous, classy Parisian vibe. The interior is stunning! Definitely one of the prettiest spots in St. Louis. We stopped by and sat outside on their adorable patio. The service was fantastic! We stopped by and it happened to be their Spritz Hour. I got the Riviera Spritz and enjoyed it. Now, the food was phenomenal! It is the type of food where you savor every little bite. My favorite bite of food was definitely the French Onion Financier. I immediately ordered more. The perfect salty savory bite of food. The gougere was also very nice and my fiancé liked that the best. We also tried the Golden Kaluga Caviar which is served on a potato chip. It was good as well. We also ordered the radishes with butter, which weren't our thing, but if you like radishes, order it! We shared the Fried chicken cordon blue and loved it! The flavor profile was amazing and the mushrooms it was served with were so good that even my mushroom-hating fiancé ate them! We cannot wait to come back here to try more items!

Yelp
Was attending a grand opening of a store around the corner and found this hidden gem. It was pretty busy but we were able to get two seats at the bar. First the food- I loved the olive oil poached salmon- so delicious- order the bread so you can sop up the leftover herby oil. We also shared the chicken cordon blue- amazing. Most unique preparation I've had. I forgot to take photos when the food arrived so the pics are a couple bites in. The one thing that can take dining at the bar over the top is the bartender. Jason was phenomenal- friendly, funny, engaging and makes a mean cocktail. I definitely will be back - make reservations- but know that the bar is also a great place to dine at.

Yelp
Super cute interior with solid food. The food took a little long, but the server brought us a complimentary dessert which was very delicious! The cassoulet was a hearty casserole/soup dish with lots of veggies. The cheesecake had a nice tangy cheesy flavor not found in your typical cheesecake. I'm looking forward to coming back to try other dishes!

Yelp
Great place for brunch. We had some signature cocktails, and a quick brunch. Sat at the bar and had a good time. Very cool place.

Yelp
Absolutely loved our experience here! I took my mom and girlfriends for a ladies night. The food was excellent, chef Hayley came out and said hello. She is so sweet. The dessert we got was probably top five desserts I've ever had, the Pain Perdu. Loved the Mocktail selection as well!

Yelp
Incredible ambiance, incredible service, and tasty, well portioned & you will definitely want to go back to try whatever dish you didn't get to try on your visit. We had the Chicken Cordon Bleu & Pork Cassoulet and both were good, the chicken was seriously delicious & the pork dish was perfect with the cold weather ( stew like). Do not skip dessert (OMG) Pain Perdu , we ordered 2 for our table of 6 and I wish I would have ordered one more- so perfect for finishing up.

Yelp
Definition of perfection. Food, service, atmosphere, and attention to detail. Married 18 years and after three kids, we are tired of sad fixed price mediocre valentines dinners. But my wife is back at work and a Tuesday night is actually easier to get out for dinner so we booked dinner. If you're going to do a fixed menu, the geniuses of Vicia must be the best in St Louis. Every course was perfect!! We asked for a sommelier to pick our wines and his suggestions were great. He must have noticed us making faces at one glass and without asking brought another. His original suggestion needed time but actually turned out great. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
A great new spot on Wydown - loved this chic French restaurant. Every dish was fantastic, but one certainly stood out. The salmon was incredibly tasty, I'm not sure how they prepared it, but the texture and flavor was unlike any other! The ambience on top of the delicious food made this a definite five star.

Yelp
Bistro La Floraison is a nice, small French bistro with friendly, professional staff, tasty French food, wonderful wine and cocktails, sweet ambience including a nice patio. One side has a bar and a little richer ambience. The other side accommodates small groups. Not a cheap night out, but it's special. Recommend!

Yelp
Delicious! Had one of their signature cocktails and it was really good. Also tried the deviled egg with caviar, very good! Followed with Mussels and they were so good! Others at the table had Chicken Cordon Bleu and beef bourguignon and raved about their meal as well. Deserts were both delicious, not sure which one was best but both were amazing!

Yelp
Updating to say that I have now dined here multiple times. Every experience has been exceptional! There is a bit of rotation in the menu so that is always something to look forward to. The staff is kind and welcoming with excellent service. We decided to join the NYE Prix Fixe event and it was exceptional. There is a sommelier on staff to help with wine selections if desired.

Yelp
We had a fabulous dinner here last weekend. Service was good, it was busy inside. Food was great, I had the short ribs and my friend had the chicken cordon blue. And the dessert was out of this world. We will be back. It's beautiful inside like a little bistro in Paris.

Yelp
From the starting cocktails (we'll explore the excellent wine list next time) through the outstanding entrees and finishing in dessert with a digestif, this was a perfect meal! The indoor space and the outdoor space are accommodating and the service (a special shout-out to Ryan) was impressive and friendly. We were fans of Bar Les Freres, but Bistro is an upgrade! Order the Parisian Gnocchi.... We'll be back.

Yelp
We loved the place that was here before. This place just did not live up to my expectations. I really wanted to like it. First off, I tried to make reservations and was put on a waitlist for a month and never received a call. So I called back and ask them when their first available was and we took that reservation which was about three weeks out. When we arrived we were seated at a tiny little table that would barely fit our food. There was a big hole in the floor that my husband's chair kept falling into and it was very unstable so we had to move our table over slightly so my husband wouldn't keep wobbling out of his chair. The service was average. The menu was pretty limited and there was nothing on the menu that was very exciting or unique. They re-painted the restaurant in a very drab color and the furniture was very low quality. The overall atmosphere was a miss for me. This is NOT a cheap place and for the amount of money you pay you really don't get much at all. The previous restaurant was probably my favorite place in St. Louis so I was hoping the new owner would create something similar, but it is not. I will not be back. I hardly ever write reviews like this...three stars is pretty generous...

Yelp
As my husband and I have grown older, we have become very particular about spending an evening in a restaurant. So many times, we come away disappointed with a three or four hundred dollar bill. We are not foodies by any means but we definitely are wine snobs which drives our bill up. We made early reservations on Saturday night. Promptly shown to our table. Cozy is the perfect word for the atmosphere. Our waitress was lovely and very efficient. We ordered cocktails that were terrific. We tried the 40 dollar shared appetizer which was sublime. Every thing was delicious. My favorite was the caviar. We ended up ordering the bread and butter. It felt like we were in Paris. The main courses were outstanding. My husband ordered mussels which are his absolute favorite. He compared them to the ones in a restaurant in Bayeux, called Rapiere which is Michelin starred. That good!! I ordered the chicken. My only minor critique was that boneless might have been a better option and slightly too much dijon mustard in the coating. The wine list is excellent. We both had glasses of white wine, pinot blanc and the chardonnay. We went home and ordered the chardonnay off of the internet. Overall, just an amazing meal.
