A truly memorable fine dining experience. The food was eye-opening and absolutely divine, each dish thoughtfully crafted and full of flavor. The atmosphere was cozy yet chic, creating the perfect setting for a special evening. The service was impeccable we were warmly taken care of by an amazing server who made us feel genuinely welcomed. Our requests for no red meat and no alcohol in the dishes were respected with a big smile, without any compromise on taste or creativity. We chose this restaurant for a special-occasion date night, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. Truly top-notch.

Bistro L’Orygine delivered one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. We visited in February and enjoyed the prix fixe menu with the non-alcoholic drink pairing, and every single course was truly out of this world. The care they took with our dietary restrictions and food allergies was exceptional. Nothing felt like an afterthought—each dish was thoughtfully adapted, beautifully executed, and every bit as exciting as the original menu. It created a sense of ease and trust that allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the experience. The service was equally outstanding. The servers were warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Each dish and drink was introduced with clear, engaging descriptions that added depth and context to the meal, making the experience feel immersive and intentional from start to finish. Bistro L’Orygine isn’t just a great restaurant—it’s a destination. I would happily return to Québec City just to have another meal here, and I can’t recommend it highly enough

We had an exceptional meal at L'Orygine. Every dish was incredible by every measure. Textures were a hit, sauce flavours were mouth-watering, and the dishes were very innovative (popcorn w/ corn sauce, cucumber spheres). The pork belly was the best I've ever tasted - tender, juicy, fat exploding with flavour. The cocktails and wine we had were equally tasty. Some minor service lapses - dish explanations with little enthusiasm and a forgotten wine pairing with a dish. Despite this, the quality of the dishes easily stood out and we can't wait to return.

This restaurant was an amazing experience. They were incredibly accommodating of different dietary needs—one person at our table was vegan, another avoided pork, and one was an omnivore. It was fun to see the subtle differences in each dish and how carefully they avoided cross-contamination while still delivering on flavor. Some of the ingredient combinations sounded unusual at first, but once everything came together, we were genuinely surprised by how well it all worked. Every staff member we interacted with was kind and welcoming, and the interior design was absolutely perfect.

Marvellous, Splendid, and Stupendous. No words come close to describe the taste of this restaurant, which completely blew our minds away. We all are vegetarian and there is a one in 500 chance to find a restaurant that’s rated so good and focuses on vegetarian. Our kids don’t like vegetables but they ate squash, mushroom, and peppers and they loved every bit. We are staying for 4 days and we know which meal will be our last one. Definitely recommend mushroom and morel risotto and grilled peach salad. The desserts had all textures, with thin strawberry wafer paper, crunchy tarts, and strawberry gel with ice cream. Our helper was Sam and he was phenomenal he recommend great options and told us about the food. You know it’s really hard to find a place with vegan options that taste like veg. DEFINETLY RECOMMEND!:)

Our experience at L’Orygine was nothing short of perfection. My husband and I didn’t know what to expect when we ordered the discovery menu but it was exquisite. Firstly, it was an incredibly elegant and excellent vegan menu - every dish was packed with flavour and perfect portions to accommodate 6 courses. The most lovely surprise was the wine selection, as we had no idea every course came with a different type of wine and they all paired perfectly with the food served. To top it all off, our server, Sam, was so attentive and kind; he was really the cherry on top of an already impeccable experience. My husband and I are still raving about L’Orygine even the next day. Thank you for such a special and amazing dinner experience. We can’t wait to come back!

I organized a company event for two groups on May 5 and 8, 2025 and it was truly a fantastic experience — everyone loved it! I had the pleasure of working with Philippe Veilleux, and from the very beginning, he made the entire planning process seamless and stress-free. What stood out the most was the incredible level of service: even though the restaurant is usually closed on Mondays, Philippe was kind enough to open it exclusively for our group. That level of commitment and flexibility is rare these days. The food was absolutely amazing, and the entire restaurant team was incredibly friendly and professional. Their customer service was impeccable — a true culinary show and experience we won’t forget! Thank you to Philippe and the entire team!
