"Visiting France in the 2000s, chef Kikuchi was deeply impressed with the ‘bistronomy’ that was sweeping Paris at the time. He made up his mind to focus on this fusion of casual bistro fare with refined gastronomy. Bouillabaisse rich in the flavour of shrimp and Paris-Brest, a pastry, are prepared with loving memory of Kikuchi’s mentor. Committed to “simple, aromatic food with friendly service”, Kikuchi is moving forward." - Michelin Inspector

Beyond perfection. Every dish was such an art. It took almost 3hours of 8 courses with an amazing natural wine from Bordeaux. We enjoyed a lot and quite surprised in a good way. The chef should get a star! It looked like a bistro but I felt like experiencing a fine dining.

Great food, great service, and great atmosphere! My friend recommends this restaurant and made a reservation for us. It’s a French fusion—practically all the dishes contained ingredients I generally don’t like— but everything was executed so well that each dish was delicious. You can ask them for alcohol recommendations on each glass and they had a unique wine for each one. The first dish was a squid appetizer, then a carpaccio, mussels and mushrooms, shrimp with bisque, and finally lots of delicious pork. The amount seems small at first but by the end you’re pleasantly stuffed. Absolutely recommend trying this restaurant. I would go again. We got the 6600 course, but there’s an option for 8000 and 10000 yen courses too.

Top 3 fave restaurants in Tokyo! Just get the course, not the a-la-carte because they serve it a lot quicker. Bouillabaise was amazing.

This a wonderful gem of a bistro in the heart of Ginza. I was worried about the cuisine being described as fusion, I think other places don’t do it well. Bistro Simba does do it well, and we felt like we were in the chef’s home, where he prepared French style food cooked with Japanese ingredients. We chose the six course tasting, which was plenty of food without over-stuffing ourselves. I wish I could say I had a favourite dish but they were all memorably delicious. We loved the shishamo and the beautiful roasted pork, and the chestnut cream dessert. It’s all heavenly, you can’t go wrong. They also were very accommodating of a shellfish allergy that we made note of in the reservation, which we were very grateful for. Natural wine was served by the glass at a very reasonable price. The restaurant is cozy and buzzing with a really lovely atmosphere. Service was incredibly warm, even though my Japanese is limited and the waitstaff spoke little to limited English. The charming chef himself came to serve the first course and offered a hearty goodbye when we left. Book in advance, you won’t regret it. The menu at the restaurant is entirely in Japanese, if you can’t read Japanese then it would be worth the having a glance online to see what the offering is like.

Perfect place to try the combination of great French cooking techniques and the Japanese ingredients. I’ve visited here for 8 times ~ I live in Taipei ~ never disappointed. The wine selection is also fantastic.

Yelp

Yelp
Horrible experience. The man was very rude and the girl knows 0 in English! We booked a table but when we came we saw an available table near the window, but the men told us if the party is 3 come they move us to the bar seats. When we asked about the wine list they said they could recommend something, but there is no price or wine list. We had an anniversary but they ruined it.

Yelp
This bistro restaurant is located in front of Kyobashi park which is good access both Higashiginza and Shintomicho. The inside of the restaurant is the warm atmosphere. The chef had been working the country side of France for a long time. We ordered one of the course menus on the homepage. All dishes were nice decorations and taste. Several glasses of wine l drank were natural wine.

Yelp
If you don't speak Japanese don't go there, staff is so disrespectful and rude, even though we booked a table they want us to sit at the bar, because free table was for 4 person and they said if 3 person will come they will move us to the bar, so we sat at the bar, the girl came with menu and she doesn't understand a word in English, I don't understand why is the rude guy, who wants us to move with our plates and wine to the bar if somebody come didn't take the order, cause he speaks English a little, so after 10 minutes of google translation he finally came to us and we ask what kind of red wines they have by bottles, he said a lot, what do you want??? Tell me what you want, we ask for the list, so we can choose, he showed some hand written words on the board and left, so after that we just left and our evening was ruined, I have never experienced such bad service in such highly rated places, I was so impressed with Japan and their people and such a disappointment
