The 18 Best Maine Restaurants | Eater

"No visit to Maine is complete without a lobster roll. All of Bite Into Maine’s locations serve some of the best lobster rolls in the state, but the seasonal location at Fort Williams is the most scenic. In addition to five styles of lobster roll, you’ll find chowder, a variety of grilled cheeses, and whoopie pies, plus a beautiful view of the Maine coast." - Kate McCarty

Bite Into Maine Review - Cape Elizabeth - Portland, ME - The Infatuation

"Bite Into Maine serves six types of lobster rolls, including a Connecticut-style roll with hot butter, and others tossed with chipotle or wasabi mayo, and they’re some of the best in Portland. Regardless of when you go, both of their locations will be slammed (there’s a second trailer located at the Allagash Brewery), and each roll will cost you just under $20. But if you’re truly on a quest for the most Maine experience possible, a visit to this food truck parked next to a lighthouse at Cape Elizabeth is a must. " - Team Infatuation

Google
A lobster roll in the summer next to the crisp Atlantic Ocean air☀️🦞 is there anything more iconic as far as New England meals go? Most likely not. In the quest to find the best lobster rolls in NE, we stumbled upon this place. Of course being located in Maine (as is their namesake) there is a lot of reputation to live up to, one that MA and NH seem to not be burdened with. Anywho, you can skip any other state. Head straight to Maine and any of their 3 locations where they are serving up the BEST lobster rolls hands down. It was quite a drive from North Boston but it was easily worth it! The flight does not disappoint and the quality was very consistent throughout all 3 locations. 10/10 will definitely be visiting again 👌🏾

Rick W.

Google
The lobster roll flight was just the right amount of food to sample the three varieties offered. The food was delicious and complimented wonderfully by the choice of beer offered by the brewery where the the food truck was located. Great food, drink and vibes in Portland.

Google
With a truck right in Allagash its hits the spot after having a few beers. Amazing staff and food. Please try the lobster rolls and fresh whoppie pies. W

Google
You really cannot get a better lobster roll. the atmosphere of being right next to allagash with their lights and live music and then ordering from an old trailer is fantastic! Then the lobster roll comes out and it’s phenomenal. We ordered 6 oz which of course is more expensive but soooo worth it! We had 3 large guys in our group and they didn’t feel hungry after eating this roll. Highly recommend trying a flight as well. I liked the mayo and chives for interesting flavors, the slaw/picnic one is a little too sweet with the slaw for me. Of course the original which they call Connecticut I believe is the best. Butter, some lemon, and a delicious toasted bun. You really can’t beat it. The bun itself could have a whole review for how much it adds to the overall deliciousness of the lobster roll. We also got potato salad as a side which I would recommend. It’s made with real potatoes you can see wedges in the salad and is reasonably priced. A little on the sweet side instead of mustardy but still very good. I would literally eat here everyday if I could! Alas I will resign myself to coming as often as I can! **new prices for 6 oz are $37.95 per roll

Google
Our second visit to a second location in a week was as spectacular as our first visit at Fort Williams. This seemed to have a slightly smaller menu (neither their curry lobster roll nor the sriracha aioli was offered here), but the classics were amazing! This location next to the brewery made it fun with outdoor seating and games. Gluten free rolls are great here! Loved trying the clam dip too!

Lisa X.

Google
Loved this stand - the lobster roll flight was spectacular. Juiciest, most tender lobster I’ve had compared to most lobster rolls in Boston. I’m a buttery warm > mayo cold girl, but this way you get the best of both worlds. Also conveniently located next to Allagash brewing company so you can get a cold beer to pair with the creamy, succulent seafood!

Nickolas J.

Google
You can do what you want, but I suggest the "flight" of lobster rolls: Maine (mayo), Connecticut (warm with butter), and picnic (cole slaw). They'll even substitute in the roll of the day, which was aioli and pickles the day that I came. While you are holding the buzzer, walk across the parking lot and grab a flight of beers to match. Outdoor seating with a roof and fans.

Dianna R.

Google
Ordered the lobster flight! Absolutely delicious, lobster was super tender. Best rolls I have had in a long time. The picnic was my favorite of the rolls. They mayo was very balanced and light in the roll. CT roll was also delicious. We ordered the pretzel, caprese sandwich, pulled pork, potato salad and grilled cheese. Everything we ordered was delicious!

Yelp
BIM, was recommended by a local foodie as the Best Lobster Roll in Portland. We tried a Large Maine style ( $37) at The Lighthouse location and agree, best We tried. Good shareable size. Like the consistency of the Lobster a bit broken down, no big pieced falling out, holding together. Got a recommendation for slaw versus potato salad and it was very good. Man that little trailer in the park must be printing money! The airstream parked at Allagash was also excellent. We were lobstered out so tried the regional red hot dog. Really good, glad we did. Served on those glorious buttered buns with mustard relish and added pickled onions, Served with chips. Messy and uniquely delicious. Tried the potato salad this time and it was money. Fresh red potatoes in a light mayonnaise sauce, so fresh and home made. The grilled cheese was also a hit. I would try any of their sandwiches!

Yelp
$90 for two lobster is wild. They only came with chips. We got curry Lobster and lobster with butter. They were decent but the lobster was all chopped up. No real, chubk of meat. This feel like tourist trap
google avatar

Yelp
Service is excellent! I tried the '3 mini rolls' sampler with these options: The Maine, Picnic and the Connecticut lobster rolls. My least favorite was the Connecticut. The Maine and the Picnic rolls were great but my favorite was the staff's recommendation--The Picnic, which has coleslaw at the bottom. At first when the guy behind the counter recommended the Picnic roll, I looked at him with some doubt, but said let's see what it's about. I'm so glad I tried it. The staff knows what's up! I also tried the whopper pie but that was just okay.

Yelp
Enjoyed our rolls from the food truck parked at Allagash brewery. I got the MAINEIAC lobster roll! It combines the Maine (mayo & chives) & Picnic style (coleslaw, celery salt, & butter). It's part of a hidden menu. It was good but I kinda wish I got the flight instead to try all the options.

Natalia T.

Yelp
I highly recommend ordering the flight. All three of the rolls I had were excellent. My partner ordered the lobster BLT and was pleasantly surprised. We also shared a red potato salad on the side that was delicious! We ordered while enjoying some delicious beers at Allagash brewery. This was one of my best meals in Portland.

Yelp
On my New England tour we had 7 different lobster roll spots, and I have to say unequivocally that Bite into Maine is the BEST. You will however pay for the privilege, and if you're like me and it's the first Maine lobster roll you've had you will unfortunately compare every next one, and it will ruin them for you. The freshness of the meat and simplicity is unmatched. The bun is perfectly toasted. You will leave this place thinking, wow...this is it. This is why people come here. What an amazing spot that does their primary focus incredibly well. Highly recommended. 5*.

Yelp
This is in regards to the bite into Maine inside the allagash brewing location. I live in Georgia and do not get the luxury of having lobster rolls all the time. I was really looking forward to a fresh lobster roll and was quickly disappointed. My family ordered 4 lobster rolls (very pricey mind you) but they came out cold! They were CT style which is supposed to be hot buttered. The bun was toasted and buttered, the lobster was once buttered, as it had a glaze and chunks of coagulated butter on it, and the meat was so cold. The worker refused to heat it up. Very disappointed especially for the price and advertisement as "hot lobster roll"

Yelp
Went with the traditional lobster roll and it is the best we have had in Portland. (Our other roll was from a popular institution that has thousands of reviews.) To upgrade to the 6 oz roll, it was $41 after tax. We just went with the traditional with hot butter. Great lobster, awesome roll, and very stuffed with lobster meat. Great placement to have the food truck right on the Allagash property. We got here early and it wasn't much of a wait, but as it got later in the day the lines were longer.

Yelp
I'm glad they were conveniently located at Allegash. I ordered the lobster roll flight, which gave me three mini rolls- Maine, Connecticut, and picnic. The buns were nicely toasted. Of the three, I enjoyed the picnic one the most. The rolls also came with a side of chips. It was a solid start to the beginning of my lobster roll journey.

Yelp
The streets don't wanna hear this but the best lobster rolls in Portland are at a brewery. Bite Into Maine has a perma-spot at Allagash which is perfect for those wanting to hit 2 birds with one stone (that sounds terrible smh). My cousin is into rolls with mayo and I like mine warm with butter. My mom is team whatever. In the end we got some sort of crab dip, a mayo roll, a butter roll, and a butter roll with slaw (mine). Outstanding truly. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get your food and it's worth the wait. We went to other lobster legends in the city and nothing compared. The beer was great too ;)

Yelp
Great option at Allagash. The staff here is soooo nice. We sat in the tables right by the truck, so I was able to witness the interaction between them with many guests - and their service was top notch. Definitely should have tried the lobster roll which is obviously one of the crowd favorites. The lobster BLT on the ciabatta bun just wasn't it. Way too bread-y. I couldn't even eat it - I ended up just picking off the lobster meat and eating that plain. We also got the claim dip which was very good and the beer brat with beer cheese - which is incredible. They have many great options and it's your food choice at Allagash so grab a few beers and dig in!

Yelp
Ordered a Connecticut style lobster roll and the lobster meat was ice cold, which just made the butter congeal. Would have been fine if I knew the lobster was always going to be served cold, I would have adjusted my order because a CT lobster roll is not what they provided. However, the service was great and the portion of lobster was perfect. Please look at the solid butter in the photo.

Yelp
While in ME, I was on a quest to have as many and the best lobster that I could get. Being from Pittsburgh, we don't have good lobster. I am so happy that I could have lobster here. It was really good. I wanted to try something different than the standard lobster roll. They had lobster grilled cheese on the menu so I had to try it. I am so glad that I did. It was really good. I loved the cheese they used. It was amazing and really made it. The lobster was good too. I wish there was a bit more of it for the price. The bread was really good. My husband had the Caprese sandwich and he really liked. he said the mozarella and tomato were really fresh. He is tough on bread and thought it was really good. They are really nice there and gave you your food in a reasonable amount of time. Definitely check them out.

Yelp
I still wondering how food truck food can be so good and fresh???!!!! Omg the day we went was super windy. I tried to put down my lobster roll on the table to take a picture. I guess you knew what's coming next. It flipped my roll!!!! Thankfully I was about to save 3/4 of my sandwich!!! At the point my hubby.... his eyes was talking to me with angry words. "I told you. You never listen"!!! Omg. Words can't express how I felt. So guys please hold on tight to your $40 lobster roll on a windy day. So that was a unfortuate situation I went through. "Hubby said, you just lost $10 of lobster." Anyhow, the lobster were in smaller pieces not chunks. They are fresh lobster and just enough mayo and chive. On a better note. The pull pork sandwich $15 was the highlight of our visit. It was the best we have ever had. Get the lobster roll because you are in Maine and you got to it Bite into Maine, but get the pull pork also. You will thank me later. My kids had the Caprese. Their words were "tasted like a margarita pizza". It did looked fresh. I didn't get a bite of it so I have no say. I was really full from the lobster roll and pull pork shared with my husband. I would go back next time I visit.

Yelp
Great placement at Allagash Brewing Company. Very happy with options. Friend got the Bratwurst and I got the Maine Lobster Roll and potato salad. Not a long wait. Both went well with the beer!

Lisa L.

Yelp
We visited on a Saturday night in August after getting our tasty beers/ciders from Allagash. We ordered a cheeseburger (which was a very dried up hamburger patty), a chicken sandwhich (the bun - which was very fresh and tasty - was bigger than the very thin piece of chicken breast), one hot dog (red snapper that did not snap) and a pretzel with beer cheese. The pretzel appeared to have been microwaved because it was chewy and rather slimy rather than a nice toasty outside with soft inside; however, the beer cheese was phenomenal. Very sad that we did not order a lobster roll, as the reviews for those seem much higher than the other food fare that we opted for but we were not looking for seafood for dinner that night. The service we received was very pleasant and the food did not take that long to get, even on a busy evening. We just wished the food had tasted better.

Yelp
We specifically made the trip to Portland from Boston because we needed to try the famous Lobster Roll. As a couple of foodies who aren't big fans of mayo, the Connecticut option was perfect. The lobster was meaty and the bun was buttery. The Clam Chowder was creamy and chunky without being fishy. We recommend checking out the hours of operation, as this location closes earlier than we anticipated due to the brewery's limitations.
google avatar

Natalie P.

Yelp
This lobster roll was so good!! I had the 4.5 oz for $26. I opted to have mine served with butter.. which the staff add to the roll as they are serving it to you. Each bite of lobster melted in my mouth and was prepared perfectly. I am just docking one star because it took a good 25 minutes to order with only about 4 people ahead of me. Also, $26 is a little steep for a small lobster roll, especially since you are not actually on the water or near a port of any kind. I will return if craving an allagash beer and a fabulous roll!

Yelp
Had the chance to check out the Bite Into Maine food truck while at the Allagash Brewing Co. Decided to try something different than the lobster roll and went with the lobster BLT, which came with Maine lobster mixed with mayo, bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes on ciabatta bread. The lobster was fresh and came in decent sized chunks. I liked how it was lightly mixed with mayo and wasn't drowning in it. I wish there was a tad more lobster on my sandwich as there was a decent amount of just bread. The bacon was cooked well, and was nice and thick. With the side of potato chips, this sandwich paired well with the beer I drank. I also tried some of the pretzel, which was warm, soft, and slightly chewy. Dipped in the beer cheese, it was pretty good! I do wish it had less salt sprinkled on it, though. Service was pleasant and food came out at a reasonable time despite the number of people ordering from the food truck. Definitely worth checking out while you're at Allagash.

Yelp
I came to Portland prepared to try lobster rolls from different places (ahem, for science) and without a doubt the one from Bite Into Maine took the prize. It even beat out the famous Eventide brown butter lobster roll for me, the main differences being a toasted buttered roll instead of a steamed one, and big pieces of lobster meat dressed lightly with mayo and chives instead of brown butter. The mayo and chives combo really makes the fresh lobster meat stand out. Served with just the right amount of crunchy salty potato chips and a complementing Allagash beverage, it was my first meal in Maine and the best beginning to the next few days of our Portland adventure. I highly recommend that you go to Bite Into Maine - a simple meal simply not to be missed!
google avatar

Janelle M.

Yelp
I don't know if it's that I haven't had gluten in months but this lobster roll & brat were heavenly! They pour hot butter on the lobster roll as you get it. The lobster meat is cold, I'd prefer it warm but it still was the best lobster roll I've had since we came here. Paired perfectly w/ my Allagash beer.
google avatar

Yelp
My wife and I were on a road trip to Maine along the coast and we saw that this food truck had a flight of lobster rolls at a famous Maine brewery. Yes please! It was so good, we actually went twice, Once on our second day on our trip up north and on our last day before our plane trip out of Portland. The flight of lobster rolls was traditional, warm butter and picnic style. They ask if you want butter drizzled on top of two of them. Yes please. Service was amazing and the chips were really good. The lobster was perfect and the amount you get was fair for the $36 you pay for the 3 roll flight. The beer at the brewery was a great pairing and I would recommend this place to anyone near Portland, Maine. Ther are about 4 other breweries within a mile around, if you want to do a brewery tout too. We decided to head up north. Maine coast is a fun road trip if you are looking for a week long vacation.
google avatar

Sara D.

Yelp
Very conveniently placed within the Allagash Brewery and one of (if not the only) food options. Be prepared for long lines and a decent wait time, but it will be worth it! My husband and I each ordered the lobster roll flights and I loved how they had different size options. Each roll was done in a different way, but delicious in its own right. All in all, stop by if you're in the area but it's not something you need to seek out on its own.
google avatar

Yelp
After spending three days in Maine and eating as much lobster as possible, who would have thought the best lobster would come from a food truck in a brewery parking lot. This food truck is in a perfect location, right next to the out door seating area at Allagash Brewing Company. My girlfriend was on line to get a pretzel and heard someone say this place has the best lobster rolls. Even though I was skeptical, I decided I needed to try one! They offer a lobster roll "flight" which is basically 3 mini lobster rolls. I got one of each preparation: Connecticut, Maine, and "picnic" which I had never heard of before, but maybe that's because I'm not a New Englander. They were absolutely fantastic. I'm not a lobster roll expert by any means, but they were the best I've ever had, no contest. The picnic roll ended up being my favorite! It had the most delicious coleslaw inside of the roll. The line was LONG on a Saturday afternoon but the woman taking orders was very quick and super friendly.

Kayla A.

Yelp
When we first arrived, we didn't have any big expectations. Small truck, and it started pouring. The line started to build up but it definitely moved fast, customer service was great everyone seems to be so nice in Maine. We tried a bunch of different lobster rolls on this trip but this Connecticut roll out did everyone's! 10/10. Ps. 6 oz Connecticut roll is the way to go!!
google avatar

Tina G.

Yelp
We spent a week in New England and I went on safari for the best lobster roll. Every place that we went to didn't have the right temperature of lobster, but this place nailed it. They have two locations, one in Cape Elizabeth and one at the Allagash brewery. We went to the one at the Allagash brewery. Talk about a perfect location! They have three different types, cold with Mayo, cold with warm butter, and cold with coleslaw and warm butter (picnic style). Obviously the warm butter and toasted hoagie roll warm the lobster up a bit, but I think that cold lobster is key to a good lobster roll. The best part is that you can order a flight! I got each style with 4.5oz of meat for $29. That seems to be the going price for a lobster roll around here and that's like 13.5oz of lobster so seems like a good price. The warm butter roll was my favorite, but the picnic style was a close second. That was my first time eating that style and I was pleasantly surprised. The one with Mayo was also good, but really, what's better than melted butter? The quality of lobster was noticeably better than the previous lobster rolls I had tried. The meat was sweeter and just tasted fresher. Everything else on the menu also sounded good but I was there for one thing and one thing only. The staff was super nice and had my flight out in about 10 minutes. All in all, the best lobster rolls I've had in New England so far!
google avatar

Amanda I.

Yelp
The best food decision we made in Maine. This was our first meal, so I had no idea that this would be the best lobster rolls we had on our trip. But they were sublime. It was so fun to be able to get a sampler of all three styles and compare the tastes. Prior to giving us our rolls, they got a kettle of butter and just lathered our rolls in it. How was it not going to taste amazing? Even the potato chips soaked up some butter and it was delish. Pair some amazing lobster rolls with the amazing vibes at Allagash and a nice beer, and there's no way you're not having a good time. It's pricey but worth every penny. We originally planned to go to the location on the water and had to pivot when we realized it was closed. However, the brewery was a great choice and I can't imagine the waterfront experience being much better. We left so happy and in the highest of spirits. Don't miss this incredible stop!
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
I've had lobster rolls from probably 5 different places so far since being in Maine for the week and this was BY FAR the best of them. My boyfriend and I split the trio to try all of the different flavors which was ideal. My favorite was the Maine style roll and his was the Picnic style roll. Just know if you go here first you are setting the bar high and will be disappointed in each subsequent lobster roll. Oh, their pretzel with beer cheese and mustard was also fantastic, way better than the million others I've had in my lifetime.
google avatar

Casey S.

Yelp
The food at Bite into Maine is incredible. It is absolutely genius that they offer a "lobster roll" flight with three unique styles. Their pretzel, though delicious, had enough salt to kill a hypertensive man. Their beer cheese with the pretzel was very good. Aidan (the gentleman who took care of us) was very polite and courteous. I wish Allagash was open to enjoy a tour, but this was a good prize otherwise.
google avatar

Hannah V.

Yelp
Adorable food truck with some kickass grub! Found this gem at Allagash Brewing Company and so glad we did. We got a Maine Lobster Roll and you can also get the flight of rolls. The flight consists of 3 small lobster rolls: Maine, Connecticut & Picnic. Maine is with Mayo, Connecticut is with warm butter, & Picnic is with coleslaw with celery salt. All their rolls come with chips They're were all super delicious, but my husband and I are obsessed with the Picnic lobster roll. That coleslaw just added the much needed crunch with all that juicy lobster. You know we will definitely be coming back for that!
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
After having the 4th lobster roll for the day, I thought I would be so lobstered out. But bite in Maine took my for a surprise when they have a lobster flight. Awesome food truck in my favorite brewery allagash, it was a must try. They also had allagash whoopie pie. The lobster flight is amazing where it was stuffed with delicious lobster. The flavor for each was so delicious that I have to vote this is one of the best in Maine. Besides, what's better than lobster, whoopie pie, and allagash? Nothing! Just try this place, you won't regret it.

M R.

Yelp
Best lobster roll in Portland! They do it right with both claw and tail meat, light mayo and a nice toasted buttered bun! Worth the wait!
google avatar

Yelp
After a disappointing introduction to Maine Lobster rolls at another local restaurant, a fellow Elite Yelper recommended that we visit "Bite into Maine". What a difference!! We went to their Industrial Way location located in the same complex as Allagash Brewing Company. We didn't order the Lobster Roll because the grilled Lobster and Cheese Sandwich sounded like the embodiment of Southern Comfort (We're from Tennessee). It did NOT disappoint. It didn't even need the Whiskey. I think I'll introduce this dish into our Southern truck food scene. Sooooo good!
google avatar

Yelp
Continuing my quest to find great lobster rolls, today I discovered Bite Into Maine where you can get a flight of THREE! There are three kinds to choose from, so I got one of each: the Maine, with mayo and chives; the Connecticut, with warm butter; and the Picnic, with coleslaw, butter, and celery. I honestly don't have a favorite, as they were all absolutely delicious. And FYI the flight comes in two sizes: 4.5 oz rolls (the ones I got), or a 6 oz. version. Someone sitting nearby was having lobster bisque that smelled heavenly, so I'll have to try that next time. If lobster isn't your thing there's also a selection of sandwiches and burgers too (though if lobster isn't your thing then just move over so I can have more). Also just a great vibe here all around: this is a food truck parked at the Allagash Brewery, so you just walk up and order, then wander over to the bar to grab a beer, and sit anywhere outside. My only issue today was that I didn't have long enough to linger!
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
The best lobster rolls!! I love that they have a sampler option for indecisive people like me. The location by Allagash doesn't have some of their other styles but the 3 I tried were so good you really can't go wrong. My favs were probably the picnic and CT styles since I'm a sucker for liquified butter, but even the Maine style is fantastic. Their lobster is so sweet and succulent, and the bun is perfectly toasted and buttered up. Get 1.5 or 2 oz samplers of 3, or a single 4.5 or 6 oz roll depending on your mood.

Yelp
We were so excited to go eat here. We had watched tons of foodie videos about lobster rolls and this one of the top places to try. We went to the Portland Headlight and then stop by the truck. It was SO hot that day but we stood in line and then had to eat in the car as all of the shady spots were taken. We ordered the Chipotle roll, the Curry Roll, the Connecticut roll and I got the grilled cheese. The rolls were full to overflowing with sweet, tender lobster and so flavorful. I think the chipotle roll won the prize but my grilled cheese is worth a mention as the bread was so soft and the cheese melted perfectly. The line moved quite fast and the food came out quick. They have this down.

Yelp
A MUST "go to" spot in Portland ME. Delicious lobster BLT on a soft and tasty ciabatta roll, pairs nicely with the Allagash White :)

i've looked up thousands of reviews on which place has the best lobster rolls in maine and every single one said bite into maine is #1 so I came here with high expectations (also visited cape elizabeth mainly just to try these hehe) my bf and I ordered the maine lobster roll and chipotle lobster roll. the key difference with this place vs others is the LOBSTER QUALITY. the lobster pieces were SO thick and the portions were noticeably way bigger than the other spots (to be fair, we did order the 6oz rolls which were $40 each and the other lobster joints cost $20-30 per lobster roll so it would make sense the portions are bigger) but STILL! the lobsters were so cold and fresh and were so big they really did fill up your mouth. i think i liked the chipotle one more than the regular lobster roll just bc it was slightly different and at this point this was already like our 6th lobster roll and i was kind of tired of it. they also have curry flavor and wasabi flavor which is cool but i wasn't adventurous enough to order those esp at the high price points. we also ordered the blueberry soda which is basically blueberry fanta and got a side of the cole slaw which wasnt anything special- just basic cole slaw

Yelp
Favorite lobster roll in the state. I always get the picnic style that comes with coleslaw and melted butter plus celery salt on the roll. The XL is good if you want to eat the extra lobster with a fork but the bun is the same size so I find the regular size is more manageable and less messy. My husband gets the blt with lobster and he enjoys the regular size over the XL due to the bacon:lobster ratio. Definitely get a roll or 2 or 3 here! You won't regret it.

Yelp
Small but mighty delicious food truck! After a day of light house exploring and drinking a few brews, we were in need of some food. The sampler satisfied our craving while enjoying some delicious and local lobster as well!

Yelp
Forgot to take a pic of the truck. Bite into Maine is the food truck for Allagash brewery. Their specialty is of course Lobster rolls and other seafood plates. Way on the bottom of the menu was a "simple grilled cheese". Yup! My order. The staff were friendly willing to share a joke and got my sense of humor. I also ordered a whoopie pie, can't go to Maine and not get a whoopie pie. The guy got me, he said which one. I said, with large childlike eyes, what do you mean which one?!?! They had two. The traditional though the filling was mixed with Allagash dark stout and a vanilla cake with lemon filling. Oh good lord! I had to buy both. I asked to bag the pies for later, they laughed and happily obliged. The grilled cheese was absolutely amazing. Yes simple, cheese and bread, but oh so buttery and perfectly melted cheese. Came with a side of chips, perfect combo to go with the Allagash Saison. The whoopie pie, ate part of the traditional, was so good. Just what I expected. Nothing beats a warm April day having food and a beer outside.

Yelp
Look at my review for commissary location. This location has the pretzel with cheese dip made with Allegash beer. Yum! As I mentioned in other post, Best Lobster Roll on this trip to Maine. Only thing that would've made this better is a nice glass of Allegash beer but we weren't allowed to drink in the parking lot.

Yelp
The lobster rolls were so good - three options too to meet your preferred style of butter vs. mayo. Plenty of meat in the rolls. I know lobster rolls and good food and this place has some of the finest!! Also enjoyed their soft pretzel! Great combo with Allagash beer too.

Yelp
Lobster roll flight was good. Also, ordered the brat which was good. Get the beer cheese! Cool air stream food truck located at Allagash brewery. Win win

Yelp
The best Maine style lobster roll I've had in Portland! The perfectly warm and buttered roll is bursting with well flavored lobster. Service is fast and food is delicious. Definitely coming back here!

Yelp
Lobster Grilled Cheese! Highly recommend the delicious grilled cheese with lobster! Best combo! The food is fresh and high quality. Super friendly staff and quick service. Great location and all of the food pairs nicely with a cold beer! Loved my 2 visits! Will come again!

Yelp
Ordered via their website for pick up. There was only one person working the truck so he was in charge of everything. If you're pressed for time then order ahead. My food was ready at the promised time. I ordered the lobster roll flight which was 3 mini lobster rolls. I paid an extra $6 for additional lobster which didn't seem like much. My favorite was the coleslaw lobster roll. Each bite was so good.

Yelp
This lobster roll is up there! Amazing! The truck was outside of Allagash. I had already tried two other lobster rolls in other Portland restaurants by the time I tried this one and man oh man did this hit the spot. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture. I had the Connecticut roll with chips and my partner has the beer batter bratwurst. Absolutely loved my roll! The bratwurst was good too! Worth the line and wait!
