Bite Me Sandwiches

Excellent quality, incredible number of menu options. All of their options are very reasonably priced, especially for the size of the sandwiches. Sandwiches were served quickly and staff was kind.

Their location has changed! It’s around 609 Cole St, San Francisco, CA 94117. If you like Italian subs I got number 26, the hangover, on a sourdough roll. I had everything that comes with it minus the banana peppers and pepperochino. This was the perfect balance of saucy and fresh. This was one of the best subs I have ever had. The only thing I’d change would be to do the sour dough flat bread because the roll was sometimes too crunchy for me.

Let’s give some love to this super tasty neighborhood sandwich spot! The Hitman is my go-to and is always great - the bread (of course, get the Dutch Crunch) is always perfectly toasted, and the sandwich overall is flavorful and substantial. The employees are sweet and swift - it’s amazing they have 31+ sandwich options to construct. Check this place out as a weekday lunch option or as a part of your picnic-in-GGP itinerary!

We discovered this place a few weeks ago and can't stop ordering. AMAZING sandwiches - bread is always fresh and well toasted, cold cuts are great quality, and the choice of condiments is fantastic. Highly recommend the tuna salad sandwiches (Yoda and Grogu) and the Danny Zuko. We are new regulars!

ordered: san fran (fresh roasted chicken breast, bacon, avocado & jack cheese) + carrot cake carrot cake: super simple but delicious! love the cream cheese frosting and the cake is soft and moist sanfran: pretty simple sandwich but it was so good! the ratio of ingredients was perfect I got it on a soft french roll - I love soft sandwich bread that does not get soggy and has a slight sweetness to it took everything to golden gate park and had a picnic! would recommend to get take out and enjoy in the near by park :-) also! if you order from uber eats their menu is limited so going in person would def be worth it

Best sandwiches EVER! We always stop by a couple of times when we are in town. They do not have a bad sandwich on the menu.

Oh my gooooosh. I’ve honestly never had a better sandwich. I got the Ike Who? on sour dough sliced bread (without jalapeños and with all the toppings). It was so fresh and so saucy all at the same time. It was full of flavor and all the ingredients were fresh and mixed so well together. I HIGHLY recommend eating here!! The service was also incredible. The woman who helped us order was so patient with me (I had never been there before and took quite a minute to choose from all the amazing options). And they were quick to get us our food.

Great sandwiches... but the place itself is a mess. For years there are boxes stacked everywhere, random pacman table games, and just weird seating/layout. Has opportunity to be neighborhood gem, but instead is as uninviting as their brand ('bite me' with a dental teeth logo?!)

Nicely located in the Haight, it's a great place for fresh and delicious bites that can be an easy grab-and-go. I've heard it gets busy, but luckily my friend and I were able to go on a slow Sunday afternoon for lunch. There's so many options to choose from on their menu, I enjoyed reading them especially with the cute names they have for their sandwiches. I ended up creating my own sandwich, with Salami as my protein and adding Pesto in addition to all the ingredients that come with the sandwich. You can tell they thoroughly prepare their sandwiches to make sure it comes out consistent and good, I was very impressed and enjoyed my sandwich! There are tables to sit at if you decide to dine-in, and they have many snacks and drinks to choose from to purchase with your sandwich. It's a casual dining experience where the staff are friendly and provide great customer service. Can't wait to come back and try the other sandwiches on the menu!

Divine hot sandwich - order the 'Ike Who?' for a good time! Service was nice and quick, and there is plenty of seating inside if you don't want to opt for takeout.

Unassuming and delicious! The shop was empty and we felt unrushed. There were so many sandwich options! Got a San Fran on Dutch crunch bread. It was very fresh and yummy! Had a good selection of chips not so much of drinks. Staff was nice.

Got the delivery from here the other day. Had the Mrs. Doubtfire and the Axel Foley. The former with dutch crunch and the later with a soft french bread. The breads seemed fresh and tasted good. Both sandwiches had a good amount of cold cuts. The house Mojo (garlic) sauce wasn't bad. Barely noticed the garlic. Would recommend having that or mayo, but not both as it can get kind of saucy. Would definitely order from here again.

Nice corner sandwich shop in Haight-Ashbury. The sandwiches are decently hefty. I really enjoyed my sandwich and I liked the options for sandwiches here. The shop is bright. There is not a ton of seating. I think most people take their sandwiches to-go from here. The service was okay. But the wait to receive my food was so long when I came here. The store looked almost empty with only one customer eating there but they had a ton of take away orders or delivery orders. I feel like delivery or takeaway might be the way to go here. I was so hungry. Also contributing to the wait times was probably that they had two/three new staff on that day that they were training.

Not a bad sandwich. Dutch crunch bread was yummy. But I got a sandwich with turkey, avocado, cheese, and bacon. It seemed like 75% of the sandwich was just the free fillings they put in all sandwiches (lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, spread). So kind of a let down because not much turkey or bacon and they forgot the cheese!!

My friend and I recently checked out Bite Me Sandwiches and decided to try the Danny Zuko on Dutch Crunch bread. The sandwich was okay, but it didn't blow us away. The Dutch Crunch bread was fresh and had a nice texture, which we liked. However, the overall flavor of the sandwich was just average. The ingredients were decent, but nothing really stood out to make it memorable. It was a good sandwich, but not something we'd rush back for. Overall, Bite Me Sandwiches has potential, but the Danny Zuko didn't quite hit the mark for us. We might give it another shot and try a different sandwich next time to see if we have better luck.

Wow. Just ordered an Armageddon (Pastrami, avocado, with cheddar cheese , jalapeño, honey mustard and chipotle sauce and all fresh veggies on sliced sourdough lightly toasted.) from their second location located at 609 Cole St. The sandwich was fire! The service was fast and easy. I love the vibe here. They make you feel like a regular customer and the place was very clean and reasonably priced for a quick lunch option. I love the drink and chip options that are available. The staff named Luis and Zerena were very personable and friendly. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Got one of their speciality sandwiches that had tuna and it was delicious! Perfectly toasted with all the yummy flavors that complimented each other. They have a huge laundry list of different sandwiches, so I'll definitely be back. Great service and cozy location on the corner near Haight.

Food is great I ordered the Ruben on slice sour dough. Gf order the Danny Zuko to go. Turkey, bacon, avocado jalapeño and Swiss. I added pesto to it. Ambiance is very Cole Bally artsy Iike. Service can be slow so recommend order ahead of time

Staff was friendly and gave suggestions for first time customers. Prices decent for the area. Food was well worth the money! Got the Bluto and Rueben and had half of each one. Rueben was great and Bluto was AWESOME. It was a nice place to eat lunch because it was calm, quiet, and had nice music. Come and eat here!!!

Fantastic sandwich, portions were well balanced with plenty of sauce and crunch on the toasted bread. 10/10. Got one with chicken and bacon, with everything in it. Next time I wanna try a recommendation from the person at the front. It was constantly busy there too which shows that the food speaks for itself. There's also 101 different kinds of sandwiches which makes me want to come back and try another sandwich! Everything on the speciality sandwiches looked phenomenal too

I've walked by Bite Me many times, yet had never gone in. I'm not a big sandwich person. But the menu always looked great, and it has a good vibe. One afternoon, I ordered delivery for me and 2 people - and wow, it was so delicious. Why did I wait so long? I got a tuna sandwich on Dutch Crunch... the Dutch Crunch was heavenly. I will definitely be back and this time will just stop in.

I have been here twice. The first time I had a delicious sandwich. Today I went to get another and witnessed some GROSS behavior by the guy MAKING THE SANDWICHES...he went to the bathroom with his apron and gloves on and then came out of the bathroom with same gloves on that were wet and dried off on his apron. He then went directly back to making sandwiches. Gloves are not germ and bacteria resistant. Why doesn't he just take them off and wash his hands before he puts NEW gloves on? Also, workers shouldn't go to the bathroom with their aprons on either. GROSS. Won't be back.

Really delicious sandwiches, they are a little bit pricey but if you are looking for a good sandwich I definitely recommend!!

Grabbed late lunch here on a Saturday and it definitely hit the spot! They have great selection of chips, sides and drinks as well as sweet treats. Service was good, they took my order and my sandwich came out in around 10 minutes because they seemed like they had a lot of online orders. I got the Hitman and a side of Mac salad which was a little too sweet for me but still good! Would come again to pick up a quick sandwich before heading to Golden Gate Park!

I wish I could put into words my love for this sandwich shop. Truly one of the best in SF and each order has been nothing less than perfect. Highly recommend!

The food was so yummy here and the location was smaller then expected. Tables were clean and you were given plenty of napkins. The staff was sweet and willing to educate you on any questions you had. There was a lot of drink options which was great!

I very much appreciate being able to get a quality sandwich at a fair price without having to deal with crazy traffic. It was nice to order from Bite Me Sandwich via Doordash without a pricey markup. Placing my order was simple, the sandwiches were ready before my arrival, and the pickup was painless. Plus because the shops a block off of Haight it's was less chaotic for me to jump in to grab the order. I could not decide between the Classic Reuben or the Big Rob (Roast Beef & Pastrami) so I got them for Lunch & Dinner! Lunch the Classic Reuben which was a little heavy on the sauerkraut, but still so good. Dinner the Big Rob, Roast Beef & Pastrami with Mustard, YUM! The shop was also busy with customers coming in to pickup orders, which should quickly turn over the sandwich fixings, for me that's a strong positive. So with Tasty Sandwiches, Decent Prices, and Low Stress Takeout, YES I'd happily order from BITE Me again!

Great effing sandwich! Service was friendly & quick. The sandwiches had fun names. But the focus was the sandwich. It was a big, many layers, two hands sandwich. Those are my favorite kind.

4 stars for a caprese sandwich. Mostly quick, probably a 10min wait or less. Decent price, $10 for a sandwich. A nice soft and yet crunchy roll. A little heavy on the vinaigrette. I just wish they used a basil pesto sauce/spread instead of actual basil leaves, but that's just my personal preference. I would have loved it even more, that's all. Overall great for a quick in and out/grab and go sandwich craving. Also perfect to grab a sandwich and hang out at the golden gate park just a mile away! I grabbed mine and went to watch the ducks and boats go by, at the Stow Lake :) Very pleasant!

Variety of tasty sandwiches. Ordered the "Godfather" on Dutch Crunch roll with all toppings and extra 'mojo' sauce. Quick service when ordering ahead, friendly staff. Filling sandwich. Would recommend.

My comfort food is a fresh roasted turkey sandwich and this place is my current favorite! The turkey is fresh and moist, not dry, I love their wheat and Dutch crunch rolls, and they use finely shredded lettuce- so good! Service is friendly and quick, price reasonable especially considering the large size of sandwich. I've been back several times and always great.

Very good taste, and portion . I've tried a few of them and I recommend the meatball , the Danny zuko,ham and cheese.and very veggie.

Great value so far. I usually go to Irving subs but since I'm closer to Bite Me, this might be my go to spot. I had "the submarine" and it was very tasty on sourdough roll. I love that it's toasted. It tasted similar to marina subs but half the cost. Yum

The sandwiches are fairly tasty and there are plenty of options, but the wait is excruciatingly long. There was only one person ordering ahead of me, and yet I still waited between 35-40 minutes on a Sunday afternoon for a simple sandwich. The worst is there are 4-5 people hovering around "making" sandwiches, but the output is about one sandwich every 6-8 minutes. Too bad the service is atrocious, because the sandwiches (especially the Winnie Cooper) are pretty good. Don't bother unless you call ahead to order, but keep in mind the actual pricing is about 30% higher than the prices listed on the website (i.e. a $10.45 website price is actually $13.45 now). Only good for takeout, because there's a bunch of junk / kitchen equipment randomly stored in the dining area so all those extra workers not making sandwiches sure aren't cleaning or organizing the place.

Bite Me. has become an absolute staple in our household. As sandwich enthusiasts, we're always looking to try new spots both in and out of town and we always end up comparing them to Bite Me. Best Dutch crunch in the bay. Shocked this place doesn't have a higher rating.

Pretty underwhelming! Maybe I hyped them up too much in my head because I had gotten excited seeing their HUGE menu. I enjoyed reading all the possible choices. After a good while reading through all the options, I settled on the BBQ melt. The ordering experience itself was strange because it felt like the lady knew how to do her job. We had to interject before she rang everything up to tell her what kind of bread we wanted. The sandwich was dry and so was my partner's! Kinda regretted going there but still curious enough to try something else off their menu

Amazing sandwiches! I got the Winnie Cooper (roasted turkey, avocado, pepper jack) on Dutch crunch and loved it so much. The bread was soft with a light and crisp crust and the fix-ins are great too. I'm a big fan of the roasted turkey being actual pieces of turkey and not sliced deli meat. Staff was very friendly and overall a great deli sandwich experience I will definitely be coming back!

excellent, had the reuben, hubby has a spicy sandwich... my new favorite place for sandwiches but do think it's still a close second to Sunset or Irving subs. Service was good. Some seating inside and out.

Needed dome food after the skatepark and found this place down the block. They have a selection of over 40 different sandwiches with some vegetarian options also. I got the Ike Who with dutch crunch and it was super fresh and tasty with the perfect amount of crunch and some heat from the jalapeño. Cute shop with a cute ambiance.

I had this delivered. This was absolutely delicious. I'm currently pregnant so I can only eat certain types of sandwiches and had their chicken salad, big pieces, well seasoned, paired well with veggies and pepperoncini on well toasted sourdough. My husband had the Abe sandwich, pastrami and Swiss on sourdough and loved it. Once I'm no longer pregnant definitely coming back to try other sandwiches! Thanks for making our day!

Def happy we stumbled upon this spot. They use real carved Turkey vs sliced Turkey lunch meat. Their sandwiches come toasty which is always a plus. I really enjoyed the turkey sandwich with cranberry and cream cheese. I don't remember the name but I remember it was delicious. I wouldn't mind coming here again. I saw that they had baked goods that were wrapped by the register and had multiple signs saying we couldn't touch them even though they're wrapped unless we plan on buying it. Well despite wanting to buy it, I didn't because I had no way of knowing if the cake was soft or the cookie was soft so that was a bummer, could have definitely used a sweet treat after.

Favorite sandwich shop in the Haight / Cole Valley. Get the Fat Albert on Dutch crunch. Seriously. Get it!

The sandwiches were alright but a 40 minute wait??? Save yourself some time, there are a lot of quicker options in the neighborhood. it's sad as i'm now seeing other reviews about the 40 minute wait. it's genuinely embarassing that they have 8-9 people who can't make the sandwiches within a shorter timeframe. i have no idea how this place stays open when it's that slow. the sandwich was nothing to write home about, and you can get the same quality at several delis around the city for wayyyy faster.

Ordered a sandwich via UBEREATS- the Hitman; very tasty, not overly dressed, bread was nice fresh and crunchy. The sandwich came toasted nicely, but I would've liked a tad more meat and cheese if I'm being honest. I'll for sure get another sandwich from here again, if I'm close by, but I will forego delivery fees for this when I have great sandwich spots near my apartment.

Food was 10/10 had the Armageddon!! Delicious! Friendly staff! Definitely will be coming back weekly for lunch!! Highly recommended

I was just there this past weekend and I was very disturbed to see after I ordered a sandwich an older lady at the register after handling the cash touch a sandwich that was being made with her hands and NO GLOVES. absolutely unacceptable. you have hundreds of people coming into this establishment, you need to follow basic health regulations. wait time is also unacceptable!!!!! never coming back here. there are better sandwich places in the city that follow health regulations.

I ordered a chicken breast sandwich with EVERYTHING on it and I GOT THIS!? I'm so upset. Being excited for food and being disappointed in return just ruins the whole day.

They are soooo slow. Waited 30 mins for 1 turkey sandwich. The potato salad had no flavor and way too much mayo. They had plenty of people working so unsure why it was so slow. I got there when there was no line. Sandwich wasn't even worth the wait. Lacked flavor, there was more bread than actual filling. Bread was tasty though!
