I recently visited BKC Restaurant and found the overall food taste acceptable.
I ordered the Bombay Biryani, expecting the typical flavours of Mumbai. Instead, it was predominantly an Awadhi-style biryani, with key ingredients missing. For example, raisins were used instead of prunes, which changed the flavour noticeably. The description did not match how it looked. On a positive note, the thecha served on the side had a good kick and added a nice burst of flavour.
The Pepper Chicken also didn’t match its name. It had more of an Indo-Chinese taste, rather than the bold, peppery flavour you'd expect from a South Indian dish.
Interestingly, when I gave feedback to the manager, the response was more defensive than open. Rather than accepting it, they seemed to justify the choices, which was disappointing.
Additionally, prices are higher than other nearby restaurants, but the food and experience don’t offer much more in return. If you're not familiar with Indian regional dishes, you might not notice. But for those who are, the lack of authenticity is clear.
