BKC - Review - Mayfair - London - The Infatuation

"Biryani, kebab, chai. That’s what BKC, the name of this Awadhi spot in Marble Arch, stands for. But that’s not all you should try when you come here. The small plates, from the tangy, sweet, and savoury papri chaat, to the warming potato and vegetable-stuffed samosa with its thick crispy coating, are excellent. The lamb kathi roll—a paratha filled with a spicy lamb kebab and chutney, with a citrussy mint dip on the side—feels like the ultimate lunchtime upgrade from your Tesco meal deal wrap. And the tender shami lamb kebab evaporates on your tongue. It’s a comfortable but small spot with the kind of warm lighting that makes you forget what time it is outside, and rattan chairs that invite you to stay a couple of hours." - Rianne Shlebak

Seed Library Shoreditch Gets a Food Menu Takeover From Norman’s Cafe | Eater London

"Named for biryani, kebab and chai, a new Tyburnia opening from Subhajit Mitra (of Coupette) will concentrate on Lucknow-style biryanis, the ultra-soft galouti kebab — apocryphally created for a toothless Nawab — and a focus on chai, promising a concise concept built around these regional specialties." - James Hansen

Excellent food and service! We were in London for a few days and wanted a change of pace for dinner. We are so happy we chose BKC. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we enjoyed our experience. The staff asked thoughtful questions and made great suggestions to satisfy all our palates. Everything was delicious and fresh. You know a restaurant is good when there are plants of locals enjoying meals. I know this will be a stop on our next trip to London!

I was more than impressed visiting @bkc.restaurant. Honestly my impressions were that it's a casual restaurant but I was quite wrong. Prices are on the higher end but oh my the food was top notch. The biryani was decent but in my opinion you can pass on that and go for the "kebabs" /grills instead. All the ones I tried - wow. The quality of the chicken, the marination and flavours made me think this is a top Indian restaurant. The galouti kebab (lamb) which I know as a tunde kebab just broke apart so easily. This is rare to find and just melts in your mouth. Generally all the grilled meats were fantastic. For curries I tried the lamb bhuna which was on the sweeter side but I really enjoyed the murgh makhni - perfect. Desserts held up to the mains as well. Falooda was great but my pick would be the gajar ka halwa because it was actually done properly. But even that gulab jaman was lovely. Quality food and I highly recommend.

Taste was very good but extremely overpriced!!!! 3 small pieces of kebab for £16-17!!! One pot of biryani £17. For one time it’s good but definitely i won’t go back (for the price!!). Also, the employees were very attentive (may be a bit too much because one employee almost snatched the glass from a table when the customer was still not finished. Probably they wanted to take the dishes to kitchen asap which looked very weird). Waited for ~20-30 mins which was still understandable because there were other guests before us waiting. We walked in and got a table straight away.

We recently visited BKC and were thoroughly impressed! The chai is absolutely amazing. Manpreet served us and provided an outstanding customer experience—friendly, attentive, and professional. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great chai and excellent service.

I recently visited BKC Restaurant and found the overall food taste acceptable. I ordered the Bombay Biryani, expecting the typical flavours of Mumbai. Instead, it was predominantly an Awadhi-style biryani, with key ingredients missing. For example, raisins were used instead of prunes, which changed the flavour noticeably. The description did not match how it looked. On a positive note, the thecha served on the side had a good kick and added a nice burst of flavour. The Pepper Chicken also didn’t match its name. It had more of an Indo-Chinese taste, rather than the bold, peppery flavour you'd expect from a South Indian dish. Interestingly, when I gave feedback to the manager, the response was more defensive than open. Rather than accepting it, they seemed to justify the choices, which was disappointing. Additionally, prices are higher than other nearby restaurants, but the food and experience don’t offer much more in return. If you're not familiar with Indian regional dishes, you might not notice. But for those who are, the lack of authenticity is clear.

The serve is great and the food are absolutely tasty. The ambience is very pleasing and we had a very good time there. Reet is very hospitable and introduced to us a lot about the regional food in India.

Enjoyed the Lamb Biryani, Chicken Seekh Kebab and the Mango Lassi. The Biryani was really well done and the lamb was succulent. Really enjoyed the food experience, and we were fortunate to be able to walk-in that night.

Small authentic Indian restaurant. Service was excellent and the food delicious. We shared a meal of the non-veg platter and naan. Plate had Barrah Kebab, Malai Tikka, Lasooni Murgh Tikka, and Lamb Seekh Kebab.
