I had a great coffee ☕️ shop stop in Brooklyn by Pratt. Very cute and cozy. The price is average. I had a latte and a caprese sandwich 🥪 for 12 dollars. The back has communal tables for sitting and working on your laptop 👩🏻‍💻. Meeting with a few friends, etc

Doraemon

Google
It’s quite packed from the morning to the early afternoon. Lots of people were sitting by the communal tables and doing something with their laptop or books. Coffee is good and you will get a free one if you purchase a bag of beans. I had a cheddar chive biscuit with cappuccino this time. Surprisingly, a savory and spicy pastry also went well with coffee. Overall, a great coffee shop with a backyard in the neighborhood.

Google
Very elegant coffee shop with a local neighborhood vibe. Chandler was great and my latte and chai with OAT milk were both on point. Totally recommend!

Google
The almond croissant is insanely good! I like the cold brew. Nice backyard. Nice staff. Good place to chill/read something.

Brian Haines

Google
Excellent service, good WiFi and delicious pastries. What more could you need from a coffee shop? Lots of space for laptops and the music was nice a chill too. Great spot!

Andrea Mueller Vause

Google
Great coffee, a bit pricey, but I need to understand that this area has changed dramatically since the 90’s. The tin details were pretty.

Janice Kwok

Google
You’ll find good coffee, delicious pastries, cozy environment plus friendly and professional baristas there. I enjoy everything there every time I go, which is very often :)

Google
My go to coffee spot while i was staying in the neighborhood. Flat white and late are excellent.

Yelp
Drip coffee was excellent and the service was friendly. However I did find coffee grinds in the bottom of my cup and that always grosses me out.

Yelp
Gorgeous, warm and ambient space! There's just so much room and seating here -- a great place to do work. Fronds of leaves and the vintage style white paneling detail looks pretty ascendant. Fast wifi and bathrooms are available. The lighting in the morning is unmatched. There's also even more outdoor seating out back and an abundance of outlets. You really can't ask for more in terms of a workspace. The coffee itself is good -- mellow! I got the 12 oz and wish I got the 8 for the espresso to shine through more. Service is friendly and fast.

Yelp
90% of the time i want my coffee no frills--strong, black, hot, and flavorful. This spot has amazing coffee--love to pop in for a cup and stock up on their beans. Spot also features some breakfast/food options and friendly and efficient staff. Sufficient seating and a welcome environment to camp out for a bit with a book or a laptop if that is your druthers as well.

Yelp
I'm heartbroken to say that BKG is permanently closed. Apparently their landlord increased the rent to beyond what they could pay. They still have their online shop where they sell beans, but the store front is no more. I'm especially disappointed since we would get growler refills of cold brew every week, and there's nothing like that in the hood. Hoping against hope that they open another location, but it's not looking good.

Joe T.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing coffee. Not over roasted. Excellent beans. Fresh. It's flavorful, but not overly earthy like some other coffee beans, which is great. I grounded 70 grams of coffee beans for 8.5 coffee cups. It's possibly one of the best cups of coffee I've had in a long time. Well done.

Nakia S.

Yelp
Love, love, love it! so quaint and cozy. I ordered the coffee drip with a almond croissant. Unfortunately, I have no pics since a passerby accidentally bumped into me and knocked it out of my hand ! Before it hit the ground , I did have a sip and it was a good roast. I'll be back and this time I'll be on the lookout.

Joan K.

Yelp
Great ambience and warm staffers who care about coffee. Can get busy in mornings so try to come at opening or later in the day. Ample outlets and table space. Other customers are considerate too - a reflection of the good vibes this place has. Cute outdoor space and coffee is excellent.

Yelp
BKG Coffee Roasters NY BK Clinton Hill Saturday 23rd June 2018 Five Stars The Friendliest People that you could possibly meet. BKG had Southern Hospitality in Brooklyn. They had an assortment of of pastries, pie, GF scones. I had a BEC pie (10 minutes to warm up). I had a Cortado to start and then a draft cold brew. Lots of Caffeine! The place is beautiful, vintage, and bright.

Yelp
I've had coffee from here on two occasions, once at a pop up and once from their actual Brooklyn location. The first time I had a latte from here, it was at a pop up, and it was the best latte of my entire life. It didn't have mocha in it but it had a strong velvety chocolate flavor that lingered on the tongue. I walked away with my latte and came back 10 minutes later to buy the Dragoon roast. I haven't had as much success making it in my Moka pot at home - the chocolate is more of an undertone than a dominating flavor. However, I can chalk this up to them doing their own roasts and every batch probably being a little different. It's still an incredible espresso when I make it at home. A few weeks ago, I was in the area and decided to go to the coffee shop itself to see if I could get the same latte I'd been reminiscing about since the pop up. I was unfortunately disappointed. The latte I got tasted nothing like chocolate and weirdly like heavy cream, despite being made with whole milk. I hate to say it, but I actually didn't like this one at all. It could be due to different roast batches, or to who was making the latte, who knows. I might return again to see if I can find a cup similar to my elusive first perfect chocolatey latte, or maybe I'll search elsewhere.

Jordan T.

Yelp
This place has the best mocha I've ever had. Very rich flavor and smooth taste. There food is always good as well. I especially love the raspberry donut. Highly recommend stopping by.

Dawn Z.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Excellent espresso drinks, perfectly done. I would also like to recommend the nitro brew. I generally dislike cold brew drinks, but their nitro is the best I have ever had. Adorable place, definitely try it!

Yelp
Great new coffee place on Myrtle Ave here in Clinton Hill. Yes, bit cheesy the name. But they take coffee very seriously! Love the pink fluorescent espresso machine and the fact they roast their own beans nearby in Bushwick. Best thing about this place is unlike so many other coffee shops, even on a Saturday afternoon - primetime for chatty loungers & laptop squatters, lol - we got a table for 4. Yes, sweet! Sure, sure, it was like 10 degrees F & blowing snow outside so that helped a lot. Bonus points that all our drinks came in to-stay cups!! Thank you, we noticed. And if I'm not mistaken, I don't think they even asked, they just assumed since none of us ordered the typical weekend jumbo latte (oh so common to-go drink on the weekend). They have bathrooms & wifi. So great place to chill out for a bit. On a cold day though be aware that the back still stays a bit chilly - the heat is across from the espresso machine in the middle of the café. Would've been nice if the barista were a bit chattier & warmer, but hey maybe that's why he's behind the machine. The cash guy was very smiley at least, but I was curious to know more about the beans & the roasting which the barista said he didn't really know. Strange since I noticed he didn't have any orders after mine. I will so get you to talk more next time Mr. Barista, you behind that awesome pink Italian espresso machine!! haha

Yelp
Wow amazing coffee! Too often drip coffee just tastes "off" but BKG Coffee Roasters has the most delicately perfect balanced flavor. The brothers who started this roasting company truly perfected the art and science of roasting coffee beans. I have worked as a barista all over NYC and Portland, OR. Which means I've attended many classes on how beans are roasted and the science of making a flawless cup of coffee. This place nailed it! The customer service was also excellent. The barista acknowledged each customer in line which gave us all reassurance that we would be helped shortly. Too often I am left standing there with not even a glance while the barista is busy helping someone else or cleaning. I don't care how long I have to wait, as long as I know the staff sees me. So BKG coffee shop gets it!

Craig Z.

Yelp
The cortado I had here was the best I have had in a long time, and I went in with high hopes. It tasted like some of the beans were natural process, and the roaster, who happened to be in the store, confirmed that. Accordingly, at $3.50, that's an incredible value of a coffee drink. This isn't a special cafe otherwise, but it is nice, and they have a good amount of space outside. Inside and out were pretty quiet, with a lot of people working on lap tops, so good option for that.

Tigerlily L.

Yelp
My favorite local coffee shop. I've been coming here since they opened many years ago now and their baristas are often the first people I talk to every day. It's like Sesame Street and they brighten everything up, from the sweltering summer days to the miserable winter ones, every time. They roast their own coffee and have a real passion for it. Each day they feature different roasts of their own making and it's always timed, measured, and frothed to perfection. Their matcha and chai are both the yummiest in town. The vibe is laid back and never pretentious, and the backyard is perfect for working and relaxing at during nice days. It's places like this that make Clinton Hill the best neighborhood.

Alexandra A.

Yelp
My favorite coffee in the neighborhood. This coffee is so good it'll make you feel like you have the same 24 hours in a day as Beyoncé ! But seriously their coffee is awesome and their mocha is the best mocha I've ever had. Always a plus when coffee shops have yummy croissants also. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting the neighborhood or who lives in the area. Great place to work on a laptop inside or out back when it's nice out.

Kyle M.

Yelp
I'll give BKG 6Stars 1. For there great coffee! 2. For the wonderful staff every last barista is super nice, caring, friendly group of individuals all seem to work well together. I look forward to stoping in for my daily coffee in the morning. 3. Nice atmosphere very homey and comfortable setting. 4. Delicious pastries, bagels and sandwiches! 5. They've got a back patio.... 6. And again cheers to the delightful staff and quality coffee.

Vicky N.

Yelp
Reminds me of coffee shops in Austin, nice neighborhood shop. This place made one of the best iced vanilla lattes I've ever had. Maybe even the best. Great service and knowledgeable staff. Would like to visit again if I'm ever in Brooklyn again.

Yelp
Love this spot, good coffee & friendly staff Not too many laptops either!

Robert S.

Yelp
OMG, BKG Coffee Roasters was really magnificent. The entire place certainly had a very cool vibe. They got a lovely menu as well. I really liked the service too, they are very courteous and accommodating. I just wish I lived closer so I could be a regular at BKG Coffee Roasters.

Lyndenise B.

Yelp
Great place to grab a cup of coffee on the go or to sit down and get some work done! It's simplicity makes it stand out and the staff is great. I love the idea of "less is more" but you certainly get everything your looking for with your caffeine fix. It's clean, refreshing and relaxing. My idea of a true local coffee shop. There's also a great patio area in the back that is perfect to catch up with friends on a beautiful day! Congrats to the team at B! You've done an amazing job creating an environment that is just right. Wishing you continued success!

M. P.

Yelp
Very nice, hip shop. Good, but not great espresso. Flat, almost stale flavor profile in my 8 oz americano. Did not try their drip. Perhaps the drip is better than their espresso.

Shantal C.

Yelp
Best Coffee in Brooklyn! Great staff and atmosphere, been going there for the last four years!

Suanne L.

Yelp
Brewklyn Grind Coffee Roasters is a phenomenal neighborhood coffee shop with a spacious study-conducive setting, great beats, a simple but incredibly well executed menu, and really cool people. It is an obvious choice for Pratt students and coffee aficionados alike. Brewklyn also roasts and bags their own beans, so you're welcome to take your favorites home to enjoy. There are seats for maybe 20-30 people with natural light and outlets. The menu is standard espresso based drinks, cold brew, chai, and loose tea. Pastries include cookies, artisanal pop tarts, and scones. When you drink/eat in, everything comes in an actual mug or glass. Its so easy to relax here!

L R.

Yelp
Love this place. Coffee is absolutely phenomenal. This is the spot that made me realize why people become coffee snobs because once you have it, it's hard to go back to anything else (although this spot is not a snobby place - they are so nice!). I highly recommend the cold brew. Also - really good bagels - better than the bagel spot down the block, although you can only get cream cheese so it's not a full time bagel spot. Get out and support! They are great!

Kayla P.

Yelp
Looooove this place. It's super cozy, the music is nice, and the baristas are very sweet. Perfect spot for a quick coffee out in the back yard or to get work done.

George C.

Yelp
This review is purely for the pretty awful, overpriced quiche that took 8 minutes to heat up yet was still very cold in the center. Fortunately their LevelUp city pass credit lessened the blow, as did the friendly staff and clean restroom. Transaction Amount $5.25 Credit Applied -- $4.00 Total Spent $1.25

Valerie G.

Yelp
Nice vibe ! Had the large latte w almond milk and chocolate chip cookie which was more than just a cookie..almost like a cookie cake. Delicious ! Latte was very nice. Many ways to hang out: along the wall bar style; in front of the shop couple tables(this gets the morning sun, so may be too warm that time of day ); in the back there is a community table for a group sitting and again along the wall. Relaxing music plays . Friendly excellent customer service . The servers look at you and smile . Like that ! A coffee shop worth returning on a daily basis.

Roy M.

Yelp
This place has really really really good drip coffee. I go here often to do freelance work, and this is the first requisite for me to consider a good cafe. Next, for me to consider it a great cafe: it has outlets in the back area, WiFi, a clean restroom, backyard with seating, and the baristas/staff are all friendly, down to earth people. It is family-owned (two of the brothers actually run the place) and they roast their own beans locally in Red Hook. Also, their pastries are really good - apple turnover, pear turnover, almond croissant, apple-cheddar scone, empanada, but the doughnuts are just okay (i believe they are baked and not fried). It can get crowded with Pratt students and other freelancers like myself on weekdays and occasionally locals who come to talk shop, but that is to be expected for such a good cafe.

Connie P.

Yelp
First time checking in here. Ordered an iced mocha and was thrilled with how revitalizing it was. Did not have a burnt or bitter taste! Such a joy to come across a place that puts care into the brew process. I'm not one for super sweet drinks either. BKG Coffee Roasters, thank you for providing me with a bold drink and props for proper brewing of espresso! This was just the pick me up I needed after an early commute. God bless you for your kind service and beverage making talents!

Glor N.

Yelp
Big fan of this coffee shop - friendly staff, Americano was on point, and I even left with a bag of beans (Dragoon blend, $14 for 12oz). Made french press and pour over with the beans, sooooo good. Love this place!

C. H.

Yelp
everyone who works here is so sweet and the baristas put a good amount of attention into each drink. I come here nearly every week now and prefer it to the local cafe in my neighborhood.

Laura S.

Yelp
I just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago and this immediately became my favorite coffee spot. It's super cute and comfortable and the owners are very warm and welcoming! The music is at a nice level too - not too loud so you can work without needing headphones to drown out extraneous noise. I'll keep going back...

Emily J.

Yelp
Great local coffee spot! Delicious cold brews and the quiche is delicious! Also the staff here are very friendly :)

Willada L.

Yelp
I came across this coffee shop one day while walking to work. It's one of the best chai latte I've ever had! You can actually taste the black tea in the chai, which I really like. I had it with oat milk and it wasn't too sweet which is also suiting to my taste palette.

Colin A.

Yelp
My favorite coffee spot in Brooklyn and I'm so happy to live within a couple blocks now! Their brew is yummy and their employees are welcoming and recognize their regulars.

Kate S.

Yelp
Very refreshing and delicious iced chai teas as well as cappuccinos. It's quite a big cafe with a lot of seating including an outdoor patio in the back.

Michelle D.

Yelp
Best coffee in the area hands down!! The Baristas are on point and know their craft, their laid back friendly and engaging and knowledgeable. The coffee is amazing roasted locally by the owners who are coffee roasters first and source their coffees ethically from fair trade and direct trade partnerships and are environmentally conscious. Their shop is considerate to the patrons with a very down to earth vibe and great selection in music. It's a must for me in my day for my coffee fix. I'm so happy that their here in the neighborhood.

Ef I.

Yelp
Nice shop, great vibes, veggie options available, good coffee and tea. Staff is super friendly and the ambiance is great. My go to for getting a lot of work done or swinging by for a quick latte.

Michael L.

Yelp
Great coffee. Really great coffee served by lovely staff in a comfortable spot. Would definitely recommend

Emily H.

Yelp
I can't say enough good about this place! It's my go-to coffee spot in the neighborhood. The service is pleasant, coffee delicious, and ambiance chill/relaxing. Great place to meet with friends or study (very mellow and quiet). A+ Brewklyn!

Jonathan R.

Yelp
This place is the best. I've been in the neighborhood for eight years and its so nice to have a serious coffee place now. The espresso pours are excellent. The pour over is insanely good. Every food item I've had was perfect too: awesome quiches and croissants but don't overlook that magpie its like a pop-tart made from delicious ingredients. Also they play great music but the place still has a chill and quiet vibe.

T Y.

Yelp
Last June I had an issue with a transaction at BKG Coffee Roasters. I reached out to the company via email several times and then Instagram in a last ditch effort. No one ever responded, not even to say "sorry, there's nothing we can do". While the coffee was fine, I won't be supporting this local roaster because of the poor customer service...

Ivan R.

Yelp
The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The decor is beautiful, and I can't wait for the spring time to come because of the outdoor area. And of course, the coffee! I've had a delicious mocha coffee and a refreshing iced chai latte. I'll be returning often and pushing my way through the menu.

Tasteful O.

Yelp
It's a nice place to sit in, the coffee's made well and the taste is OK though I wished they had a soy option too.

Kristen E.

Yelp
I was viewing an apartment around the corner from here so decided to check it out. Service was quick and the cold brew was tasty, albeit a bit expensive - but what independent coffee in NYC isn't, really. I told the staff my situation, and they were more than happy to tell me all about the neighborhood - which bars to go to, where the nearest grocery was, the best bike routes to take - which I really appreciated. I ended up signing a lease for the apartment so I plan to spend a lot more time here. Here's to future experiences being just as positive.

M G.

Yelp
Lovely spot with great drink options, friendly service and chill ambience. The iced mocha latte is incredible. Perfect way to start a hot summer day! Several people working quietly in the ample seating areas. Definitely worth a visit.

Phil C.

Yelp
Great little coffee place. Had an iced mocha and cortado. Both were very good. They know their espresso. Mocha was on the darker side. Would return.

Othelia J.

Yelp
Oohhhhh Nnoooo.... Brand new coffee house on Myrtle Ave. Very charming great potential for a big backyard. We stepped in from a very very cold Saturday afternoon. Got a chocolate croissant and a hot chocolate. The croissant like everywhere else. Your standard mass produced and not bad not spectacular either .. The so called hot chocolate was terrible. More like hot milk with a trace of cocoa power. It was awful. Hate to criticize like this. But when u open a brew shop you better get it down first. $7.25 for a chocolate croissant and a cup of should have been hot chocolate. Ick ....

Jeff B.

Yelp
I stopped into this brand new Clinton Hill coffee shop this morning on my way to the G train from my girlfriend's apartment. Given that I'm nowhere close to being a morning person, and I don't like traveling any farther than I have to for coffee (my lifeblood), I'm glad that this place opened up. Now I no longer have to go the opposite way of my normal walk to the Classon G train or cross several hazardous lanes of Myrtle Ave. traffic to go to Bergen Bagels, just to get a decent cup of coffee. Brewklyn is more than just convenient, though. It's good. I ordered a medium drip coffee ($2.50, tax included -- not cheap, but more or less fairly priced given the quality) and checked out the backyard. Be it for bars, restaurants, or coffee shops, I'm a fan of outdoor seating, so while the tables and chairs and the backyard as a whole are nothing particularly special, they are still pleasant and welcome. I also appreciated the clean, uncluttered appearance of the inside. So many coffee shops collect so much crap on the walls over the years that it was nice to be in a place where decoration is simple and sparing. I'm hoping it's the owners' intentional long-term plan to keep it this way, rather than it only lacking a random assortment of haphazard decorations because it's just recently opened. The guy who served my coffee was kind enough, making sure to say hello and goodbye to all the customers. It seems overall to be a refreshingly unpretentious place, which is no small feat given that it's a coffee shop in a Brooklyn hipster enclave. And oh yeah, don't forget to pick up a stamp card.
