1st time trying We placed an order through door dash and I have to say I will DEFINITELY be going back/ordering again. We got a fish shrimp basket, loaded gumbo, combo fried rice, fried okra, and egg rolls. Everything was amazing. The gumbo is so thick and savory with generous portions of shrimp, sausage etc. The fried fish is flaky and juicy. The tartar is fresh with a great dill balance to the flavor. The combo rice has so much flavor big tender shrimp, generous crawfish tails. I mean everything was delicious. Oh and add a couple boiled eggs with their house spice. We are definitely loyal customers now!

I had a good experience here. Great customer service. There are a few televisions in the restaurant so you can watch games. As for the food, you'll get a lot of food for the price and it taste delicious. Overall, I'd dine here again.

This is THE hidden gem of Baytown. Excellent atmosphere and even better food! The quality and flavors were incredible. If you like seafood you will love this place! If you like Cajun food, you're going to love this place. You're doing yourself a disservice if you pass this up!

Shrimp were huge ! Whiting seasoned well . Okra and hush puppies flavor and fried to perfection . Sausage needs to be sliced next time and seasoning for boil shaken into the boil and not given on the side .Beignets were not like NOLA and more so like fried biscuits . I would eat here again .

We had a large family gathering for a birthday here. This was my first time at this establishment. I was very excited as I love seafood boils. It was late in the evening, and they were able to accommodate us. The staff was very friendly and took the time to explain ordering and items on the menu. Between my husband and I, we spent about $68 with a tip. My husband ordered just a shrimp boil bag with house sauce. The house sauce is buttery garlic with seasoning, and you can go from mild to extra spicy on it. He didn't realize that it was just shrimp, and you had to add extras, like potatoes, corn and eggs, but he was fine with it as he also ordered the loaded gumbo. He enjoyed both. I ordered the shrimp lovers bowl(which is what my husband should've ordered) it came with a hefty amount of peeled shrimp, an egg, sausage link, 2 potatoes and 1 small corn. I got the spicy house sauce. I added a dry seasoning as well, but it really didn't need it as the house sauce was enough. Dipped in the butter, and I give it a 9.5/10 it was delicious. I also ordered the 6 piece fried oyster basket. This is where my disappointment came in. The oysters were obviously frozen, overcooked, and very hard. The batter created a shell around the oyster that you could just crack open. I didn't even finish them. The only good thing in the basket was the hushpuppies, which are probably also frozen, but at least i expected that. 2/10 at best. Overall, it was pleasant, and I would go again, but just for the seafood boils.

The crawfish was very flavorful, fresh and clean (garlic butter and Cajun spicy). The customer service was awesome as well and I will be coming back !!!!

Fam was in the mood for some Cajun, found this place on Google. So happy we did! This gem has the best boiled seafood I have ever had from an establishment. I got the shrimp lovers bowl that comes with ONE POUND of shrimp, potatoes, corn, and sausage. Everything was so perfectly seasoned, full of flavor, and the spice was on point. You get generous portions of QUALITY food for a GREAT price. Everything was so fresh and did I saw the flavors were amazing?! We will definitely be back!!

Tried this place for the first time after lookin at the pics of food and previous reviews.. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Everything we ordered was delicious but The Hot Box is 🔥 the fried catfish is 🤌 seafood boil is flavorful and has a nice spice level. Serving sizes were also very generous! It's an order at the counter and enjoy ur food kinda spot and they give u everything u need before u sit down. We went on a week night so it was pretty chill. I'll definitely be going back! 🤤

Everything we had was tasty. We grabbed menus from the counter went & sat down until we decided. Then went to the counter to place our appetizers & drink order. The daiquiris are strong & delious. Apps: Boudin links, boudin egg rolls, egg rolls, fried shrimp & seasoned fries Main dish: Then we finally decided what we wanted to eat. Went back to the counter placed our order. We had the hot box, combo rice, medium shrimp rice, grand slam. Everything was good. Service was good. Music was on point if you like late 90s early 2000s. We will definitely go back!

Well service was great. Food after i got home very good but whale i was trying to order at the conter by the menu another custermer keeped throwing. racial slures at me about walking. Front and being old and white witch i am . Ok you got me ! Then he keeped calling me my niga I did understand why i said im not your niga and he got really made and ask me. To step out out side witch i did after i order my food all of this going on while everyone including the workiers where watching. So i walked out side to wait on my order and after a while he came out asking me to walk over to hos car . Bottom line be ready to fight if you go here great food just be carful or walk in and dont talk Because its only you alone in there no on else no manager no help but like i said Great food!!!

This place is very good the menu is also 2 thumbs up oh but they have frozen daiquiris they will blow your mind on choices

Good food! Ordered vermicelli bbq pork, pork spring rolls, shrimp jalapeño bacon wrapped, crab boil Cajun garlic, and a margarita with beer. Flavor is good and portions are good too! I wish it had more garlic in the boil sauce other than that it was good. Bacon shrimp with jalapeño were so delicious!!!! It would be our favorite place if it wasn't for how much we paid! I think the boil was the most pricey Service is good too! The lady is nice, Ambiance is very chill and relaxing

Ive driven by this place time & time again going to & from school (lee college) & today finally a friend & i decided to go for lunch. i was NOT disappointed AT ALL!!! its got a cute interior, bright in contrast to the black exterior. i ordered the boudin eggrolls & black bayou shrimp rice. the rice came in a huge portion. the rice was stir fried with crawfish tails & sausage, peppers & onions & topped with a lot of boiled shrimp smothered in a mild cajun butter sauce. i took more than half home with me after lunch. with both & a drink, lunch cost around $30 but it was worth it. im sure we'll go back soon!

My boyfriend got me the house special crawfish to go and it was still very yummy after sitting out for a few hours Crawfish were medium to large sizes and very flavorful. It was $6 a pound which is the cheapest I've heard of in the Houston area.. I just paid $10 somewhere else last week! Highly recommend if you're in the area!

I've only been once before they closed & I remember thinking it was pretty good. upon entering, we had to order at the counter which I personally didn't like since I need time to look at the menu. then we were assigned a table to sit at afterwards. that's new. according to the cashier/server?, there's a new partnership now. crawfish - a decent size - mix between medium & large with a few small ones. flavor was okay. we got the garlic butter one & the house special. fried rice - garbage. I didn't even know you can mess up a simple side. it was dry, bland, & barely had any eggs in it. boudin egg rolls - I liked it. remoulade sauce was good considering I live in houston & was visiting my bf in the area, it's not likely I would return if I happen to crave crawfish again. I mean for $7/lb, it's quite affordable but overall lacking imo.

Food was so good!!! We ordered the boudin egg rolls and sausage, regular egg rolls for an appetizer. They were all delicious. The fried shrimp were large, and fresh and perfectly cooked. Fries and hush puppies were also good. The crawfish and shrimp fried rice was delish. We did the boil and the shrimp, crab, mussels and crawfish were all very good. The spicy garlic butter Cajun sauce was amazing. Beignets were not the classic beignets but everyone enjoyed them.

You allowed a kid to talk stupid and ask my husband to go outside. He made some derogatory remarks and your employee just stood and watched. Didn't call a manager and let this continue. Some one should have stepped in

So turns out they were in the middle of a management or owner change and was closed. The new team has an all new menu and seems pretty friendly. The food items I had yesterday were great! Will be trying others soon.

Great crawfish, great staff, and BIGGO CRAWFISH what more can you want from that?!?! Place is kept clean staff was attentive too! Can't wait to come back again!!!

This little place is the old Whataburger on Garth in-between a gas station and the Deluxe Inn. It's always clean and the staff couldn't be better. They have a Full bar and a kick ass menu full of Asian Cajun Fusion grub. Seriously everything I've had so far has been delicious. Also plenty of Tvs for games and they also have a small patio out front. Stop by and give Black Bayou a try.

Love the seafood boil and the restaurant was clean. Music a little loud but then again I'm losing my hearing. One of my family member's had the craw fish fried rice and that was pretty good. When I come back to visit my family will definitely come back and try the chicken wings.

I always have to support a young entrepreneur! If you ever get the chance to meet the owner - SHE IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Food is amazing and atmosphere is positive! Go here for casual dating, bar hopping, or sports team watching!

Food & service was very good, but a little too much rice for my taste. Definitely a different taste in Baytown.

Food tasted amazing! It came out at a reasonable time , I got crawfish and the fried rice. Both were very well seasoned. The service there is awesome, the workers are very nice and are willing to help you in any way to better your experience there! I would definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for a delicious bite!

The food in this place is good The service is exceptional We went at 8:30pm to find a nearly full restaurant, we were greeted immediately, asked to wait for a table, it was less than a minute until they hustled one up for us. The servers never let our glasses run empty, kept asking if we needed anything, sauces, napkins, how is our food. They worked so well together and we felt well taken care of. Food highlights were the corn, and the catfish. Everything was great but these were exceptionally well cooked. Only low light was the gumbo which was more like gumbo flavored pho. But all in all we would totally come back, portion sizes were great, and the staff were incredible

This was our first time coming to Black Bayou. Seth was our server! He gave us some top tier service. The food was delicious. Whenever we visit Baytown again we will definitely be stopping here.

Food excellent but atmosphere was sketchy. waitress had to deal with a drunk and a lady that sat at bar area and was rude so she told her she needed to leave.She was very nice to us and she was all by herself even though we were only one in there to eat.I don't know if so knew them or not but it wasn't the best part of town but that was fine cause that was our first time in the restaurant.

Solid 4 stars here. Katelyn did a great job with service and Recommendations. We all have the bayou shrimp and we would definitely order it again. We also had the crawfish pies and bacon wrapped jalapeños. Those were good but probably would try something else next time. Everything including restrooms were clean and tidy. Enjoyed our experience abd would come again when in the area.

Would I go back? Maybe? I don't know what Vietnamese place that charges for bean sprouts, first you give me less than a handful of bean sprouts for my pho. Do you know how much normal people put all their fixins in their pho? I call that a rip off. The pho broth lacked flavor, had to ask for extra hoisin sauce, still didn't help. Got the combination pho, it was presented well, all meats tasted well, there was a lot of pho noodles, although the broth makes everything. Banh mi was really good! Added an egg on top. Spring rolls were nice and plump. I would like to try the fried rice and the crawfish when it's season. For the area, this place is great. For a viet, I had better but not horrible. Seems like they have a full bar and it's place to come to drink too. Service was great!

Tasty dishes with good portions. Reasonable prices. We had char-grilled shrimp and Black Bayou shrimp, sausage, fried rice. All were quite good. Friendly helpful wait staff. A nice find when driving through Baytown.

Went once when it first opened . It was ok but not hood enough to make me wanna ho back ‍

My mom and I visited on Mother's day and went around 6. There weren't but three people in the Restaurant (which was great). Our waiter's name was Leroy and he was a pleasure to be around and is great with the kiddos, making them smile and enjoy the dining experience as well as the adults. The Crawfish was DELICIOUS and HUGE, and the margaritas were even better! I will be back!!

I saw it had great reviews.. walked in there and knew it was gonna be good. Smelled like heaven!! The service was great and the food was awesome! If you're in the area, you don't want to miss this quaint little place. Bring your appetite!

This place has never disappointed me, except for today. Once I got home we opened the food and my kid opened the pho container and the smell of expired food came out. I don't need my child getting food poisoning, the smell coming out of that pho was so strong and nasty. All the food lacked taste it's like the cooks have changed. I called and spoke to a girl who I told they should not be selling that pho. I asked for the manager and after about 3 min she came to the phone and said the manager wasn't in. I understand she's only an employee but wth don't all places need a manager or supervisor. I was trying to help a local business by ordering food and take home but after today, I definitely won't be coming back to this place. Im extremely disappointed with the food. Maybe the business needs to train their cooks a bit more.

First time trying this place, super neat and clean. We ordered the boudin egg rolls, and the jalapeño bacon wrapped shrimp, and the shrimp and crab bowl. It is a lot of food and the cajun garlic butter sauce is amazing!! The service was awesome and super friendly!! We will definitely be back! I wish I took a picture of our food but it was so good I got carried away and forgot!

Love this place! Food is amazing, service is exceptional and super friendly. Owner is usually present and hospitable and checking on patrons. Cold draft beer, full bar, numerous TVs with sports and entertainment on, good music, great atmosphere. What else do you need?

Went here while in Baytown, I ordered the black Bayou shrimp and it was not worth it. Rice appeared old and to be the bottom of the pot, and the crawfish didn't seem fresh. I would not recommend this place. Although it was a clean establishment it wasn't worth the price.

Ms.Amy was the bomb!!! Made sure our drinks were filled an check on us often. The food was spectacular! Ordered the Cajun elote with hot Cheetos an the black bayou shrimp!!! There's also a bar here that's stocked up pretty well! Definitely a place worth visiting

Margaritas are pretty good here considering... We got the boudain egg rolls which were really good but I'd suggest waiting until they cool to get the actual flavors. For our entree we both got the black bayou shrimp which sounded SO amazing but was really just 6 over boiled shrimp over fried rice with chewy crawfish tails. Atmosphere was nice and Service was great and super friendly.

I had a pork vermicelli and it had this smell and nasty taste to it and I will not order from this place again I'll stick to top tea for that.!!

I've only been once, considering it's not really on my side of town. However, my one and only experience was amazing. Food was impeccable, service was fast, friendly and professional. Very clean and well maintained establishment.

Do not order pho here. Came out and was lukewarm at best. Took one little taste, and literally paid and left.

FUN! Great place. simple and tastefully decorated. Immediately welcoming. Some how the ghosts of memories of the old whataburger linger if you grew up here, but you wouldn't know it if you're new in town. The staff is superperb. Friendly, competent, and professional. The food is on point. I got the combo pho, which is steak and brisket. Homemade broth. Wife had the black bayou shrimp which was seasoned tasty and just right. Sat at the bar in the hopes of conversation, with the Astros on in the back ground. Jared and Jojo did not disappoint. Date night was a blast. Oh and the truffle fries were essentially my dessert. Coming back for sure.

With a Cajun restaurant name like "Black Bayou Restaurant and Bar" in South East Texas you better be coming with some flavors strong enough to back it up. So on a Tuesday night (pre corona quarantine)I was there to find out just what they were about. I asked the bartender (Christina) what was recommended and after a rundown of the menu I decided on boiled crawfish. I asked for spicy. They came out really quick and they were definitely spicy. It was the good kinda spice. The kind that makes you want to keep eating while downing a beer every few minutes. They weren't just spicy. They were flavorful as well and perfectly cooked. Definitely worth a try. I liked them more than crawfish shack. Their other food is really good too. Overall great customer service and food. New favorite place.

I loved the food last time I went, so I was excited to be back on the area to stop again. I called the restaurant at 12:40, 40 minutes after they opened to place a to-go order. She told me I needed to call back in 30 minutes because the manager wasn't there so she couldn't get into the system to place the order. I was in the restaurant industry for many years and never heard of that. I'm very disappointed in their lack of service when they're supposed to be open.

I'm so happy Yelp suggested this place! This old Whataburger has been transformed into a modern Viet Cajun restaurant and bar. I love the atmosphere upon arrival and the outdoor patio; further down the road, I would suggest the business owners add a tv outside as well. The weather so gorgeous today, sunny and cool with a light breeze. It would have been nice to watch the game from outside! But it's not a big deal. We sat at the bar to watch the game and we always love chatting with the bartender/server. Our server was extremely attentive and helpful! She made some suggestions about the menu and that really helped us decide on what to order. And even throughout our meal she was very friendly and chatted with us while still managing the rest of the tables. The Vietnamese coffee was authentic and delicious! And my boyfriend ordered a double jack and coke which was good of course lol. We ordered the boudin egg rolls which were slightly dark in appearance, however they tasted VERY good. And we're Louisianians so we know good boudin! We were shocked how well they encompassed boudin in an egg roll because we've tried them at other places and have always been disappointed until now. The remoulade that accompanied it was also notably impressive. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp entree over a bed of crawfish and sausage fried rice. He really enjoyed it. It was a very large portion so I think the price is fair. He liked that it almost tasted "seafood smoky" and that the dish was topped with some fried garlic which added a nice texture to the dish. I ordered the combination pho. It was a large portion as well. The meats were tender. The broth was fantastic. And I know it's corny to say, "my mom makes the best pho," but this one really did remind me of home haha. It was great and perfect for the cool weather. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place. There's a good variety of food ranging from wings to grilled salmon. Everything we ordered was delicious. The service is phenomenal. P.S. I wish I had room in my belly to try the boiled garlic butter king crab and beignets. Oh and they have whole fried tilapia that I wanted to order as well. However, it'll have to wait till next time. We stopped by this place after seeing some features from them on Instagram. I was hesitant because I hardly hear of upcoming places in Baytown but this place is amazing. The staff are very friendly towards us and help us picked out dishes we would enjoy. We ordered the boiled shrimp in their signature sauce and it was amazing. Their combination pho is amazing! The broth was rich to the point you don't need to add condiments to it. The beef was very tender and fell off right the bone. Definitely will be coming back to get crawfish and pho.

Some great food and people! Our server Stephanie was amazing and very attentive. Food is reasonably priced, great music, and great drinks. Definitely will be coming back :)

This place just opened not too far from my job so we gave it a try. I am just glad that we found it because the Bahn Mi grilled pork sandwich is one of the best I've ever had.

Walked into the restaurant and immediately knew it was going to be a nice experience. My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out by word of mouth. And we were not disappointed. We had the elotes as an appetizer added hot Cheetos and they were a real treat. They weren't stingy with the hot Cheetos or the cheese it was wonderful for drinks we had a beerrita and some shots: Mexican candies they were honestly the tastiest I've had. So sweet yet spicy the right amount. I was surprised very good :) for entrees my boyfriend had the chicken vermicelli the Chicken was seasoned sweet and tasty he loved it I had the buffalo shrimp I believe the rice was very nicely cooked and the shrimp had the right amount garlic. Ohh we also had the snow crab seasoned in spicy garlic. One words delicious!! We definitely recommed this place and we will surely be back :)

WOWOWOW!! You're in for a treat when you come to black bayou. Everything look good on the menu so I had to come by to see for myself. Got a warm greeting when we first arrived and ask if it was our first time. Told him we are from out of town and was hungryyy. Jo told us she going to take good care of us and recommends a few dishes. Of course we over ordered but there was no regrets. Starting from the first bite of the egg roll to the last drop of the gumbo everything was delicious. Wash it all down with a couple of drinks and you can't ask for anything better. They also have TVs everywhere so definitely will come by for rest of the menu and maybe catch a game. Thanks for everything Black Bayou!'

Really enjoyed the thought of a boil location close by. Went with the husband and did crawfish fried rice, wings, combination pho, and shrimp cocktail. The shrimp cocktail was basic boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce. I am giving them 5 stars do to the portions for cost. The wings were huge, and the crawfish fried rice came in the XL bowl for Genghis Grill. So more then enough. The pho was delicious no need to add any extra sauces to it it tasted delicious.

Food was delicious, was a little expensive but very good! We will come back again. I really enjoyed the black bayou shrimp!
