"The fact that there’s often no lunchtime parking at Black Bean Deli is a testament to how good this Cuban food is. Circle a few times to snag a spot, and your reward will be some of the best pan con bistec, empanadas, frita burgers, and cortaditos you can find in town. The Cubano is their specialty, but don't overlook the medianoche. The grab-and-go deli has limited seating indoors, although there are a few picnic tables out front." - cheryl rodewig, gabe bergado, ryan pfeffer, macy johnson

"Sandwiches reign supreme for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Andres Corton’s comfort-food spot housed inside a mid-century gem on East Colonial Drive. Media mananas, media noches, and perfectly porcine Cuban sandwiches are perennial go-to (and to-go) faves, though more substantial fare can be had in filling plates of shredded Havana pork and picadillo served with rice, black beans, sweet plantains, and salad. The coffee game here is strong." - Faiyaz Kara

By far one of my favorite places in Orlando, you can never go wrong here. This place serves up delicious Cuban food. I come here all the time and tend to get the daily specials and if your on the run you can always get a tasty empanada to go.

Incredible Cuban sandwiches. The prices on the menu are very reasonable. I was surprised at the amount of food they brought out! The rice and beans were amazing! The empanadas are the best ones around! So good. This is a great family friendly place to eat.

✅ Environment & Atmosphere: An interesting triangular-shaped parking lot. Overall a chill laid-back vibe. ✅ Customer Service: You’re immediately greeted with a smile. The cashier/server was welcoming and joyful. ✅ Quality of Food: The breakfast avocado and toast were a healthy option. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I had coffee today. The beef empanada was amazing; I had to take one to go. ✅ Recommendation: Must try.

I always enjoy eating here. The lunch special was plenty of food and so yummy. It includes the Cuban sandwich and black beans and rice. The flavors were delicious...I just added a little hot sauce to my black beans and rice for some spice.

People kept telling me about this place and they weren’t wrong. The Cuban sandwich was amazing, it had a good balance of flavor. But the highlight of my visit were the empanadas. I was actually amazed how good they were. They had plenty of options, the price was right and they were sized good. The Cuban bread slices were also good, a little bit on the small side, but they were packed with flavor. The plantain was just ok, I’ve definitely had better, but it’s not bad. Parking is a little tight. There’s a little bit of wait, but I believe it’s worth it.

There’s a great debate out there about whether or not a Cuban sandwich should be served with Mayo or mustard. However, Black Bean has decided the answer, in their case, is NEITHER! There were no condiments on their Cuban, which I’ve never experienced. I had to dress it myself and also add salt (it desperately needed salt). And, the black beans were the same. Salt needed (how’s that even possible?!?). If you’ve had out-of-the-can Goya black beans - those are better and more flavorful. Unbelievable. The yellow rice and plantains were unremarkable again. #neveragain. Sad. Leftovers were tossed in the trash.

Little bit of a wait around brunch time and the line was slightly confusing because people walking in the door tried to walk right up and order. Food was great and love the atmosphere. Employees super nice and efficient.

One of the best Cuban sandwiches I have ever had in Florida. I would definitely recommend heading to Black Bean Deli for an original Cuban. And the plantains, just as delicious!

Yelp
Came here with my sister for breakfast. Loved the coffee decor. I ordered a cafe con leche which was okay and then I had 2 empanadas. One was the ropa vieja (shredded beef) and the chicken. Both could've used more seasoning but to start off the day this was the perfect bites before thrifting

Yelp
Black Bean has been a staple in the Orlando community for a long time, and for good reason! They have two locations, one in Winter Park and one in the Mills / 50 neighborhood. This location has a small inside, but also offers patio seating which is great on a warm and sunny Florida day. To order you'll head inside and go to the main register. They have menus you can look at while you are in line. Be sure to check out the chalkboard for the daily / weekly features! At the register you'll notice some potato balls, empanadas, and croquettes in the case, which I would recommend for an appetizer while you wait for the main meal. The portions are generous, prices are very reasonable, and everything is delicious! Some of my favorites are the croquettas, iced cafe con leche, and their Havana pork plate. The plate comes with a side salad with this addicting avocado dressing, rice, beans, and plantains. It's a filling dish and everything on the plate is delicious and has great flavor! If you end up having leftovers of the pork, i highly recommend reheating it in a pan on your stove over medium heat. It keeps it nice and juicy and tastes super fresh like you just ordered it!

Kristen V.

Yelp
Sometimes I order the salad with the roasted chicken, but now it's different. Salad portion is smaller and it's drier cubed chicken breast rather than a tender leg. I still like the avocado dressing though. We also got the bistec, which was dry. There was no sauce (picture shown) so asked for some and was charged $1 for it. This place used to be so much better, what happened?

Erica E.

Yelp
Simple, can never go wrong with a cafe con leche! Some croquetas, and an empanada. The ropa vieja is just too good. Filled with flavor and juicy! The service is always great and they always take orders with a smile. This location has so many spots to eat, from tables to outside and inside. The outside area is covered so it is okay during a sunny or rainy day.

Helen W.

Yelp
Amazing and delicious Cuban sandwich, love it come with black bean and rice! Coffee is great and taste very good . Also the beef empanada is very delicious. They also have outdoor seating if you enjoy food outdoor. Try it when you are in the area , you will like it.

Shaneck R.

Yelp
WOW! I am so glad I found this place!! The Havana Pork Bowl was soooo good! The service was also super quick and the space itself was nice and clean and there was plenty of seating available. I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
The day I find authentic Cuban in Orlando is finally here. And all thanks to Yelp. I even learned they have a second location giving the people more than one chance to try Black Bean Deli. The parking lot is pretty tiny so hopefully you'll have some luck finding street parking. You order at the counter and are handed a number to take to your seat while you wait for them to bring your food to you. The menu has a ton of authentic Cuban dishes available and some with a twist. We tried their media noche and the bread was out of bounds. Sweet and pressed to perfection. The steak sandwich came smeared with a delicious red sauce that complemented the steak more than I thought I needed. The Cuban sandwich is $9 before 3pm which we just had to try. Again, it was the pressed sweet bread for me. And the Havana pork bowl was chefs kiss. With a side iron beer IYKYK. The staff were friendly and patient while we explored the menu for the first time. The inside decor is homey and comfortable with a modern twist. There's also outdoor seating available. Will absolutely make a point to come back the next time I'm in town.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
We've gone to both this location and the WP location numerous times and it's always fantastic. Usually, we get full blown meals but this time we stopped for a quick snack before going shopping and it was such a good decision. The croquetas were fresh, hot, flavorful, and crispy on the outside. The ropa vieja empanadas always hit the spot with their flavor. The iced cafes con leche are always amazing and this time was no exception. This was the first time we got a tostada - they have a variety of sizes ranging from quarter (which is what we got) to the entire loaf of Cuban bread! It was perfectly toasted and the butter was perfectly melted. Service was quick and there was plenty of seating inside and out. I will say - be aware of the parking situation because it's honestly so bad. There are such few parking spots I'm not quite sure where people park when it fills up. Highly recommend this place if you're in the market for some Cuban food, no matter the time of day!

Deanna H.

Yelp
Modern ambiance makes this place above the rest for local Cuban cuisine. The service is great. Most importantly, the Piccadillo empanadas are life changing...best I've ever had and my friends also agree. It's a must to get the cafe con leche here and I'm a sucker for the Cuban sandwich lunch special.

Aylin R.

Yelp
I always stop here when I'm near colonial to get an iced cafe con leche & it's quick & reasonably priced, however I will say the waiters are just a little too casual to greet you (if they do) & take your order, at least during slow hours. I've come three times & I'm not sure if they would prefer for me to just order online? The coffee definitely gets me through my busiest days zooming so I will definitely always come back, but I do notice they serve Cuban food that I'm very excited to try, especially their specials!

Angela M.

Yelp
I ordered the Cuban sandwich special that came with white rice and black beans. The Cuban was delicious. Bread was fresh. Cheese was all melty. The black beans and rice were a nice side but I expected the black beans to have a little more flavor. They were good and hot. Enjoyed the meal. Pricey.

Shannon O.

Yelp
Delicious Cuban food. Always great food and coffee, chill casual atmosphere with both inside and outside seating. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Hands down my favorite spot in Orlando to get a quick, healthy, delicious Cuban meal. I usually order take out or Uber eats, but decided to come in & sit down for a bite to eat the other day around lunch time during the week with my boyfriend. He decided to stay in line and place our order while I grabbed a table. Shortly after he sat down to join me with our order number card, our food was delivered over to us. When my dish was placed in front of me, I knew it wasn't what I had ordered - My boyfriend had misunderstood me and ordered the wrong menu item. I was going to attempt to eat it, but it was smothered in cilantro (unfortunately I can't eat the stuff due to an aversion) so I needed to send it back and was prepared to purchase the dish I had originally wanted. They were so understanding and patient about our error and offered to replace it free of charge. The food here is consistently tasty, but it was this experience where I noticed how kind, accommodating & hospitable the staff is too. The Spanish baked chicken dish i always order was on point as usual. Chicken was juicy and flavorful and all the sides were as well. It's my go-to for a guiltless, delicious meal when the mood strikes for Cuban food. My boyfriend's favorite is "The Cuban" sandwich and he polished off every bite. Black Bean Deli really hits the spot every time for me. 10/10 recommend!

Ian H.

Yelp
If you're looking great local Cuban spot in Orlando then this is it. It's located off colonial with a few parking spots in the front and around back. If it's a busier day there you'll have to do street parking but it's easy to find. Inside gives off a basic modern look with lots of seating inside and out. The staff was very friendly and were very accommodating after I ordered my girlfriends meal wrong they switched it out without a problem. My go to here I get every time is the Cuban sandwich. It's loaded with flavor and the portion size will have you so stuffed you definitely don't need any sides. The only thing I add to it is the Texas Pete hot sauce because it elevates it to the next level. If you haven't been to Black Bean Deli yet, you're definitely missing out.

Yelp
Writing this review while still in this place. Everything was excellent: food, prompt service, ans cozy ambiance. I ordered the Media Noche sandwich, with a ham croqueta, and an ice coffee 16oz Cuban style. Delicious! The price was excellent as well. Less than $20, althoughI live in CA so I'm not sure if this is a good price for locals but for me, more than okay. I'm definitely coming back to this place while I'm in "Meatball Ron" state

Eric M.

Yelp
The Yuca fries were incredible. They were nice and chunky, extremely airy, and had a beautiful crisp to the outside while still maintaining a fluffy inside. The sauce was also the perfect addition to my new substitute of potato fries. The chicken noodle soup was tasty and a squeeze of fresh lime juice provided just the right amount of tang to the savory cup. I didn't order much since it was a quick stop, so I'll have to stop by to try more options. The service was very fast and friendly.

My Dao N.

Yelp
Recommend? Ehhh. I got the vegan empandas and a bowl. The empanadas are ok. Neither items I got were bad in any way, but I wouldn't go out of my way to be back here. Maybe only if I'm really really craving an empanada.

Renee C.

Yelp
A 10/10 meal. Fun fact: 10 years ago, when I tried to maintain a blog, Black Bean Deli was the first place I reviewed. I decided I wanted a Cuban sandwich, and I thought it would be cool to try the first place I critiqued... But I didn't realize that this was the ten year anniversary of Black Bean Deli! This place is just as good, if not better than what I remember. I ordered a Cuban sandwich, guava and cheese pastelito, and a cafe con leche. The cafe con leche was made with cafe bustelo and oat milk; it was perfect. The guava and cheese pastelito tasted SO GOOD, that I ordered another one for the road. The Cuban sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've had in my life; the cheese was tasty and neutral but slightly nutty, the ham was perfect and soft. I loved the mustard. The bread wasn't too tough and it was soft and easy to eat with a nice crust. I would 200% go here again; I see why this place has lasted for ten years. I'm so glad I came back.

Alexa W.

Yelp
This place is such a staple in DT Orlando, and I crave it often. Always fresh and delicious, great quality food and portions. I normally order through Uber eats but I dined in today and had a lovely experience. The restaurant is very quaint and clean, friendly and fast service as well. You can't go wrong.

Nicole S.

Yelp
Cafe con leche is to die for..so good! Stopped in multiple times during my stay in Orlando.

Jill C. J.

Yelp
Black bean deli is the best. The beans, the Cuban, the cortadito, the tres leche. And don't even get me started on the ssweet plantains. Affordable. Hip. Great food. This is Orlando at its best--imho

Audie M.

Yelp
This is an order and find seating for staff to deliver meal when ready. The food was delivered nice and warm within 10 minutes. It was delicious on all accounts. I had the Cuban sandwich which the half is plenty, especially if you order the platter which includes rice and beans. However, my buddy had the best tasting sandwich, pan con lechon (roasted pork sandwich). It was much more flavorful so my next visit will be that. Eat here, you will like it! Buen provecho!

Brooke H.

Yelp
Awesome spot for lunch. Quick service and a nice patio out front! Got the Havana pork entree and it did not disappoint. Their empanadas are also amazing!

Greg L.

Yelp
I usually stop by this place after a haircut as it is right across the street from Educe salon. I ordered my No. 1 fav - the Cuban sandwich with mustard (of course!) However, this time I looked into the empanada case and the Ropa Vieja Empanadas caught my eye, so I decided to give them a try also. I'm so glad I did as I ate one of them prior to the arrival of my Cuban. The filling consisted of perfectly shredded beef that was juicy and flavorful! I would definitely order again. In fact, I only ate half my sandwich so I could have both an empanada and a half Cuban for a late-night snack. This place rocks and the staff are always cheerful, fun and helpful!

Zain K.

Yelp
I finally got around to checking out Black Bean, coming on a Tuesday for the weekly ropa special, and unfortunately left a little disappointed. It certainly wasn't bad - for one thing, the ropa itself wasn't greasy, so that was a plus, but a couple of things kept this from being a satisfying meal: first, I found the flavor profile a little too heavy on the garlic. Also, for $15 it really wasn't a lot of ropa (and I don't even have a large appetite). By way of comparison - and this might be the issue - I was recently at Padrino's in Miami, where the same meal came with around 50% more food, with full table service (and non-disposable tableware), for the exact same price. Again, though, it wasn't bad, and I'd definitely be open to returning to try another dish.

Lindsey J.

Yelp
This place used to be a 5 star and was a weekly staple. However the prices have increase A LOT and quality has gone down. So sad. The chicken is DRY. It never used to be dry...what's changed??????

Marco V.

Yelp
Our first day in Orlando we want to eat some Cuban food. My wife found this place not too far from Downtown Orlando. The place looks very fancy and the menu is very interesting with the combination of flavors and different food. Orlando offers a lot of great options in Cuban food unfortunately this place doesn't have the same food as other Cuban restaurants in the area.

Daisy M.

Yelp
Over all love Black bean but I do miss the dark chicken not a fan of chicken breast it was dry. Use to love eating the chicken it was a breast and leg on the bone. Very tender not dry. Beans are great!!!

E R.

Yelp
Good food, really poor service! As a frequent customer, I love the food, the price and the atmosphere. Black Bean has a lot going for it. That said the service is a mixed bag - staff just doesn't give a s$&t about the completeness of orders or guest satisfaction. When you bring up the fact that 4 out of 5 orders has had a mistake they just shrugged their shoulders and treat you as an irritant. Management seems to have the same mindset - good luck finding any contact info to reach out - there are no emails or ways to reach management. I get the vibe but the nonchalance of the staff is very off putting and reduces the place to the likes of a McDonalds

Demi A.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for the last 5 years, I don't believe I've ever had a bad experience. The staff is amazing, and the coffee is the best in town. They are the only coffee shop (that I know of) in this area that serves Cafe Bustelo Supreme - worth going if you are a fan of Cuban coffee. Food is always good and fresh. 5 stars because they are consistent! Worth mentioning that the vibe they are going for is not an "authentic" Cuban spot but a modern more gentrified take on the cuisine. Note, be prepared to look for street parking behind the restaurant.

Lexi S.

Yelp
The black bean deli was so yummy! The food was light and delicious! The interior was adorable and great spot for lunch. The food came out really fast even for a weekend lunch. They brought it right to our table! The side room inside was still pretty hot with all the windows so I'd recommend sitting towards the back of the restaurant away from the windows.

Coach P.

Yelp
I was in town and saw this place had slapping cubanos I went to go try and OMG. Perfect crunch perfect taste, get it with mustard a cubano must. Too bad I live 2300 miles away or I come in 2-3 times a week!

Alina C.

Yelp
It is a vibrant spot that truly captures the city spirit, right in the heart of Orlando. This eatery shines with its deliciously crafted sandwiches, each bursting with authentic flavors and perfectly paired with robust Cuban coffee. The dining experience is enhanced by three distinct areas, including street-side vibe and the indoors. It's the ideal location for savoring breakfast and coffee in a delightful setting. The staff is welcoming and friendly!

Katherine S.

Yelp
Amazing food, when your order is actually correct. They forget the side of cilantro aioli I order with my Cuban 50% of the time. My sandwich was also missing mustard today when I specifically requested it. I ordered yellow rice and no beans, and they still gave me beans -- on my specifically ordered yellow rice, so I couldn't even eat it. Always check your to-go order before you leave the restaurant.

Ian M.

Yelp
Let me just start by saying that my wife is Cuban and from Miami. Finding a Cuban restaurant that meets her expectations is difficult. With that being said, she loves Black Bean Deli!! We come here 2-3 times a month for the croquetas and the fried yuca. The fried yuca comes with a delicious garlic cilantro sauce. We buy the yuca just for that sauce it's that good! Highly recommend you try!

Steven W.

Yelp
We flew in for a week of conferences and theme parks and knew that we had to hit up at least a couple of Cuban joints. Black Bean Deli was by far the best, featuring the tastiest Cubano, heaping sides of sweet plantains and, per my kids, a fantastic tuna sandwich and burger (with crispy fries). Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Magic Kingdom!

Ailish A.

Yelp
Coffee there is amazing especially the cafe con leche when it's both hot and cold. Very sweet workers as well :))

Jordan C.

Yelp
YUM! Tried the havana pork cuban bowl with cilantro aioli today and it was delicious! Ordered online and they texted me when it was ready. Walked straight up to the pickup counter to get it. While there are tables in the cute inside area, I opted to sit at one of the of great outdoor dinning tables.

Cesa B.

Yelp
I have seen this place forever, but both locations appear so small, I never stopped to try. Parking sucks if you don't find a spot on the street. And the prices for the amount of food didn't thrill me either. I tried the Cuban Frita burger, which is a weekend special. It was very flavorful and a good burger all around. I just expected bigger or a side for the price. They would be a great add for Burger Week.

Dorsa V.

Yelp
I love Black Bean Deli! I love that this Orlando based biz has grown into a staple here and with all the growth and success, they still remain true to their menu and the consistency. My favorite things to get are the fried yuca, white chicken salad and the media noche sandwich!

Justin G.

Yelp
Good food, decent service. Try maduros and cuban coffee. Those were the highlight of the meal. Cuban Sandwich was very good but will not be the best you ever had. Yuca fritters were a little lacking in flavor, but came with good dipping sauce. Papa relleno is a fried mashed potato ball with some meat. Very heavy but fans of shepherds pie will get behind this. Really bad parking availability.

Cristina F.

Yelp
Legit Cuban food without driving to Miami It's all good, the fried snacks, the meal platters and the coffee. Also has nice outside seating. 4 stars because parking can be tough to find and sometimes servers/people at the register have an attitude. Got the pernil plate, empanadas and potato ball on this particular visit

Luis F.

Yelp
Perhaps it is one of the best Cuban food restaurants that's not going to bust the bank. The sandwiches are as legit as back in the Caribbean. Try out the appetizers, especially the yuca fritters, they are great. If you are missing Goya Guava or any other juice, this is the place to get it. FYI, coffee is super good

Samantha R.

Yelp
Black Bean Deli is good, solid, Hispanic food. Is it Cuban food? Technically, yes, but it's not what my abuela made growing up. Regardless, you know if you come here you will get quality chicken and black beans and can be sure that the maduros or tostones are going to be fresh and delicious. Their garlic sauce is so good and pairs well with everything. Overall, the atmosphere and staff are super nice too.

Kala P.

Yelp
Love this place so very much! Food is always good, environment is great, and service is next level! Chelsea was working the front and greeted me with such a welcoming smile. She then helped me decide exactly what I wanted due to me being indecisive... lol like always due to everything being so yum... Chelsea left a lasting impression on me, so I'm now writing this review to thank her! You can tell she's a hard worker, kind, and patient; the exact type of person you want to be working in your restaurant.

Cindy M.

Yelp
Still love coming to this place! Can never go wrong with anything on menu! And the coffee to dies for. Wanted to update my review because I used them to cater and event, and it was super easy. Food couldn't be delivered as they were booked for a wedding the same day. The catered food is made at the winter park location. It was easy to pick up and all the serving ware was included. One of the dishes was forgotten at pick up and when I called to make sure I wasn't charged, the staff was super sweet. They didn't charge me for the platter and offered to deliver it because they were worried I wouldn't have enough food for my event. Would definitely work with them again, and of course everyone loved the food!

Rachel B.

Yelp
Black Bean Deli has a few locations across the Orlando area, and every time I've been to one my experience has been great! I typically like to order the Cuban, that has become my staple from BBD. Great for a quick bite, or to take a friend to catchup. Would definitely recommend this place to others!

Meagan O.

Yelp
Overall staff was nice, food was very mediocre. This is for people who dont know what cuban food is. The cuban sandwich came with sliced pork instead of pulled pork. The sliced of pork that was on the sandwich has alot of fat. I went to the restroom to wash my hands and there was not soap in the soap container and no paper towels to dry.

Rachel G.

Yelp
Oh my heavens! Where has this place been all my life?! Came here because we were craving Spanish food for the night. It was easy getting here and despite the parking lot set up, there was always available parking. We walked in and was greeted with a smile. We were honest with the cashier that we were new, and he was so understanding that he explained the menu to us. Once we ordered, we sat down and our food came about 10 mins later hot and fresh. The place is super, super clean and kept together. Food is quality and employees are wonderful. I can't wait to come back! I recommend getting their "Cuban" and cafe con leche. Coffee is divine, the taste reminds me of when I visited Spain! Mmm.
