Swanky jazz lounge, cocktail bar & New American bistro with 2 levels of seating & live music.
"Are there better places to have that anonymous, noir fantasy of sitting at the bar solo in the Paris of the West, than the underground lounge at Black Cat? With a robust bar program from Jason Moser, formerly of Villon and the Proper Hotel, this Eddy Street venue is perfect for seeing a show that’s so good you’ll dance that mask right off your face." - Paolo Bicchieri
"This Tenderloin mainstay hosts a jazzy round-up of live music on its swanky, subterranean level nearly every night of the week. The artists are given about a week of shows, allowing them to experiment with sets and styles throughout the residency. There's also a full menu of food and drinks from industry players throughout the city. Reserve in advance or try your luck on a walk-in." - Zoë Bernard, Paolo Bicchieri
"There are supper clubs that center around food and live entertainment, such as Black Cat Jazz Supper Club." - Dianne de Guzman
"On Saturday night, as producer Kassa Overall blasts a drum-heavy set from the Black Cat stage, Adam Chapman says things have been ridiculous. The director of operations of the Eddy Street club says the story he’s telling is outrageous, but it’s true: the San Francisco Police Department assigned an employee overtime to go through a report on the fallout of his club’s multiple break-ins after the same police department failed to protect his place of business throughout the late night. Since Chapman didn’t come to the club immediately after the break-in (he says neither he nor anyone on staff received a call from the police) the cops left after 20 minutes. “It’s been egregious,” Black Cat owner Fritz Quattlebaum sighs in agreement." - Paolo Bicchieri
"The owner of Black Cat, Fritz Quattlebaum, blames the police for multiple break-ins over a six-hour period. Despite this, the club continues to host performances, such as a show from jazz producer Kassa Overall." - Paolo Bicchieri
