"After some experimentation, a brewery tour of Germany, and recognition in the National Homebrew Competition, owner Bill Haase turned his passion into a profession with Black Hoof Brewing Company. It opened in 2017 with a beer hall-style taproom, and a lineup of brews including rich brown ales, crisp hefeweizens, refreshing radlers, and more." - Eater Staff

I liked the beers here. It appears to be a local hangout with very little seating. People were enjoying the basketball games on the big screen. There were lots of dogs, which I love, and patrons standing at the high tables outside on the sidewalk. The interior is relatively uninteresting so I spent most of my time out front looking at the people dining at King Street Oyster House across the street. It’s a good location and they have a small beer garden out back. I tried the Oatmeal Stout. I’d say that it was very good. Good place to stop for a beer and maybe hang out with some friends while on your way to something else in the old downtown.

Nice local brewery with outdoor seating both in front and behind the building. If it's crowded, they also have plenty of indoor seats. The beer selection is well rounded -- at least one each of a Pilsner, Stout, IPA, and Seltzer. I didn't notice a Lager, but you can check their beer listing online. Overall, I think it's worth going to to hang out for a while.

This place caught my eye so I had to stop in and I’m glad I did. A lot of places don’t offer sour/sweet options but they had a Gose on tap that was refreshing! You can also get flavor add-ins however it is delicious without it. The bartender was polite and knowledgeable. The entire space was clean and well kept! It’s been around for 6 years, check it out!

An excellent local brewery located in the heart of Leesburg, Va. If you’re interested in true German style beers, then this is the place for you. Black Hoof Brewing Co. specializes in German style beers, and they do a fantastic job of getting it right. I tried their award winning Reh Of Sunshine Helles, and I also had a pint of the Poachers Pilsner. Both excellent beers. The taproom is warm and inviting with a bit of German theming to go along with the German style beer offerings. They also have a small beer garden out back as well as a few standing bistro tables in front of the establishment on King St. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their beer and happy to offer suggestions. Food offerings are very limited. I believe they only have Bavarian pretzels and a beer and cheese flight. I didn’t try either of these options. It’s worth noting that the bistro tables out front attracted a fair amount of cigar and cigarette smokers on both of my visits. It was only mildly annoying when the wind was blowing the smoke my way. And as we were outside, and it was breezy, the smokiness was minimal. I would definitely recommend a visit to this brewery. Prost!

Love their hefeweizen! My husband and I find ourselves gravitating towards Black Hoof at least once a week. They have indoor seating, outdoor seating, card and board games, and they’re dog friendly! They also allow outside food and have yummy pretzels! We met the owner Bill on our way out one day and he was very nice and asked us about our experience. It is nice to know the owner is present and actually cares to hear personal reviews when his patrons are there. Nice little nook in the town of Leesburg which will continue to get my business.

The best brewery I've been in since I left Germany. Great selection of excellent beers with a great staff of friendly people. I'll most certainly be back again. Try the Märzen and doppelbock. They have no equal in the area.

Friendly staff. Fantastic beer! (But, bring your own food.) If you enjoy German style beer, you need to visit Black Hoof Brewing Company. (Yes, they also have an IPA on tap for those so inclined.) Some of the best märzen, pilsner, and gose craft options I've had recently served by some of the best folks in Loudoun county in glasses of varying styles that are available for purchase (as well as t-shirts and bandanas). They do serve a Bavarian pretzel (or two), but everything else on the menu comes in liquid form. Cheers! Bright, lively atmosphere with an occasion BINGO game (for prizes). Don't forget to mention if you're a Vet or on active duty; Bill (the owner) provides a military discount. (Not to mention one [heck] of a Birthday celebration on 10 November!)
