I come here every Monday for trivia. The staff takes such great care of us. When it comes to bar food my expectations are low but Black Horse far exceeds it. The burger is incredible (and half price on Mondays, lucky me), but everything (chili fries! fish and chips! guacamole! chicken tenders!) is outstanding. I don’t mind food from Sysco but that’s not happening here. Here’s how good it is: I did the great saunter and around mile ten in my despair I began to dream of my Monday night cheeseburger. The beer selection has a lot of diversity and the cocktails are excellent.

Love black horse but Stephen is rude, uncaring and unkind.. I asked him to adjust my drink ( was willing to pay for it) he told me he didn’t make my drink and ignored the request for an alternative and handed me my card back . I had to regroup and my friends and I went elsewhere locally specially due to his behavior

This neighborhood bar is a total gem . Black Horse has it all: delicious eats, friendly staffs and a cozy vibe that makes you feel like a regular even if you're flying solo. Give it a try, you won't regret it!"

Excellent burger and fries, quality tasty salmon salad, burrito bowl a little wet. Overall a nice experience and meal.

Mediocre food from the multiple time I’ve been but maybe they shine in some specifics. Appreciate them for sports but as long as you know the food is Just okay it’s a good vibe.

Disappointing! I just moved to the neighborhood, I live 2 blocks away.. So I decided to try, happily Saturday night! I ordered fish taco. Overcooked fish, side potatoes heavy smell… totally disappointing! I guess they don’t have enough people to work, so they don’t pay attention what you’re saying… they are in a rush! Anyway, ruined my Saturday happiness!! Never again!

I used to love coming to this bar!!!! The food was usually okay, but honestly i went for the service. Valentina would always take care of me with the utmost respect and care. Unfortunately, I was recently made aware they let her go for no justified reason. Myself and many other regulars were in shock when we found out about the loss. It has made me look at this establishment completely different. When establishments treat their staff as if they’re disposable, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I really expected better from this place.

Highly recommend Black Horse Pub ! One of my favorite go to places to watch sports, have a couple beers and eat some good food. Nice family atmosphere & the staff are amazing as well ! Super happy that Black Horse is back to its regular atmosphere, people watching sports, sitting by the bar chatting with their buddies & enjoying the fabulous food !!

This is a local spot around where I live and a friend and I decided we needed a place that had plenty of seating and space to go watch a game from the euros during the day. We got here right before 3pm on a weekday before the game started and there were plenty of spots at tables and by the bar that had views of the tvs. Started off with some apple cider beers and I ordered a chicken Parmesan panini which I honestly have never heard of. My friend had an order of nachos with chicken but I didn't get a photo of it. The chicken parm really blew me away, having it pressed in a panini was very good, crunchy toasted bread with parm covered chicken was one of the best things I had eaten in a while. Experience here was great and I'd for sure come here again for other events.

I used to really like this place. I'm English and it was a good pub. I had the fish n chips with a friend on Saturday and it was awful. The fries were overfried shoestring not fat English chips, the fish was fried in fried chicken batter not a beer batter and more batter than fish. There was a side of remoulade and lime?? where's my lemon? I don't like tartare sauce, but that's traditional and we had to ask 3 times before the waitress understood what malt vinegar was. You can't call yourself a English pub and pull this kind of nonsense.

Giant portions and usual bar food. Nothing amazing but the portions are large so if you are bargain shopping , this place will you all the bang for your bucks! I got a black and tan but no Bass - oh wells! They have lots of beers on tap but nothing super special or fun

Food was amazing, portions are huge! Service was very friendly and wasn't too long of a wait. Good food takes time and this place had great food. If you love football (soccer) this is the place to be. Champions league, premier league, they have it all !

Solid as always at black horse! Great neighborhood spot with big portions and fast service. Always gonna come here for sports games and good food.

It's decent food the service is good and the ambiance is pretty decent. It's pretty much a local and convent dive pub for me.

Stopped in to grab a bite to eat & have a drink, this place was calm with loud Spanish music playing (it was probably extra loud because it was the day of the Puerto Rican day parade) either way I didn't mind. We were seen right after we seated ourselves at a table across from the bar. This place wasn't crowded which is great, I ordered a glass of pinōt grigio with fish tacos & sweet potato fries. It was tasty & our server Jorge was the best!

This was my second time here in two weeks. Tonight I decided to go for the Traditional Burger with American cheese and a non-Alcoholic Guinness to wash it down. I was super impressed with the cheese burger! It was properly flavored and cooked medium-well (just how I wanted it). And the side of French fries was extremely tasty and perfectly salted. I highly recommend getting the burger. Also, Black Horse Pub is a place to go to watch sports games. Enjoy!

Came in for Super Bowl Sunday around 3:30 PM thinking it would be packed but it wasn't! We had a group of 7 so we wanted to secure some seats. They had a Super Bowl platter for $45 for 8 mozzarella sticks, veggie nachos, fries, 6 piece chicken wings, 6 piece chicken tenders, and 6 piece beef empanadas but no one told us it was an option starting at 6 PM until much later. They also had some drink options on that special menu so ALWAYS ASK ABOUT THE SPECIALS! Overall, good food and plenty of TVs to watch the game on. Would come again to hang out and watch sports at for sure.

A great neighborhood bar! The service was great, they have a good selection of beers and a number of cocktails, and the food is pretty good. The nachos were the best out of what we ordered, lots of toppings that were all good. An order of mozzarella sticks was pretty large (8-10?) and came with a nice sauce, although a little watery. The chicken wings I would not order again, they were not crispy but did have a good amount of meat on them, and something seemed off about the buffalo sauce. Overall, I would definitely return for some solid bar food and good drinks.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. It's a nice and chilled spot in parkslope. The pub offers indoor and outdoor seating. The menu has a variety of foods and drinks to choose from. Service Is quick. Food and drinks are always on point with flavor.

Very nice ambience. Mature respectable working crowd. The French fries are fresh. Also the bbq wings was fresh as well.

The. Worst. Restaurant. In. Park. Slope. I took my daughter here today for her 10th birthday and wished I'd rather take her to Chuck E. Cheese. Everything about this place was bad: the server was a total b*tch - she couldn't even open her mouth to say hello, greet me and my kids; the food was absolutely disgusting - the chicken empanadas tasted like sand; the bbq wings were hardly coated and the chicken was also undercook; and the fries were soggy. The ambience caters to white geriatric millennials who couldn't afford Williamsburg or the "real" Park Slope. Ugh!! I live around the area and have been meaning to visit this place for so long, but now I know why they're hardly busy. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Skip it and go to Chuck E. Cheese or order from the Domino's next door or just make your own food.

I've been coming here for years and always have had a good time and good food. The servers are great as well as the bartenders. Highly recommend.

I mentally noted this place while walking by it as a good place to eat out doors. This weekend, we are finally graced with some decent weather and I thought now would be a great time to try it out! When we arrived there were already people sitting outside but still a good amount of seats available. We sat down right away and was greeted by our server who presented us the menus. Their menu is quite large. A lot of selections to choose from. They even have breakfast on the weekends but it's only available before 2 pm. We tried ordering a breakfast burrito at 210 but It was already too late. They are pretty strict on that I guess. We ended up ordering the buffalo cauliflower, fish tacos and crab cake salad. Buffalo cauliflower was by far my favorite of all the dishes. It was perfectly crispy and not falling apart. It was hot and soft on the inside with the perfect amount of buffalo sauce. I was thoroughly impressed they made this boring vegetable into such an amazing palat pleaser. The fish tacos on the other hand was not as spectacular. First it was not even a taco. They really need to fix the name on the menu. The "taco" was a wrap. There were 4 pieces and it came with fries. The wrap overall was a little too soggy. The inside was too wet. Believe it or not it was also lacking avocados! Fries were decent though. Crab cakes were not bad. The salad itself was lacking but the crab cakes made up for it. Good chunky amount of crab cakes with each bite. I'd come back for some drinks and the cauliflower but not the fish tacos for sure.

The food here is great, especially the burgers. This is my child's go to favorite place to eat and he can be picky.

Good food while watching English premier soccer, American football and college basketball

No muss no fuss sort of pub. Decorated for the holiday season, and with holiday cocktails as well, which I really appreciate! I had the burger and it was just ok, bit over done, but still hit the spot well enough. There's also a decent amount of Mexican food on the menu, which I'd be curious to try. The mozzarella sticks were delicious! I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here, but I'd certainly stop by if I was in the area.

Good beers on tap. Pretty good service. Sat outside. It was nice and cozy. Seemed pretty clean. Ordered some chix tenders which were good. Ordered fish tacos- also good Had a panini which was just "ok" Thought they had more on the menu, Buffalo chix wrap was shown quite a bit on Yelp and was looking forward to it, but they didn't have. Beers seemed fresh. Rather small menu And they added a service fee which was annoying because I would've given the usual 20-25% tip, since service was good. But they added a fee. Just FYI

I've visited Blackhorse on more than 10 times but my recent visit was the worst restaurant/bar experience I've ever had. Despite calling and confirming twice that they would show the game my wife and I wanted, it turned out they weren't. We decided to stay for a drink and a small bite, but it went from bad to worse. When sharing a beer between us, the bartender accused me of sneaking in extra drinks because he saw my wife's glass refilled. Despite explaining to him that I had poured some of my beer into her glass, he threatened to embarrass me in front of my wife. When I asked to speak to the manager, he claimed to be the owner. Unfortunately, if that's the case, I won't be returning, and I advise against visiting this place.

A no frills bar/pub that's good if you don't know what you want to eat. They have a pretty decent menu with lots to choose from. Please keep in mind this place is a bar so the music can get loud and the TV is always on so it can be distracting. The few times I've eaten here it was always with family so my kid is with us. During lunch and early dinner, you will see lots of family with kids eating here so it's kind of the norm here in south slope. The chicken fingers are always a hit with kids, nicely fried without drying out the chicken. The shrimp salad is ok. The nachos are delicious but don't get steak since it's probably a cheaper cut of meat and comes out too dry. Their fried calamaris are amazing and we get those every time we come here.

Things You Can Do At Black Horse: 1. Drink good beer. They have a solid selection, even if I opt for Guinness (they pour it right) or liquor most of the time. 2. Order a humongous plate of nachos to share with all your friends, and then eat them all when your friends don't want any of your delicious nachos. 3. Make new friends, because why would you be friends with people that don't want nachos? Lorenzo is the man. He brings me beer and fried food. I'm going to be friends with Lorenzo. 4. Watch all the sports. Soccer for sure, the Olympics, football, bowling, and more if soccer isn't on (or on a limited number of TVs if it is). 5. Eat all the bar food. Mozz sticks, chicken fingers, fries, sandwiches, burgers, wings...they have all these things, and they do a better than average job. They also delve into more British favorites like bangers and mash, fish and chips, and a full English breakfast on the weekends. 6. Rejoice when the ~70 year-olds with you agree to take a shot because they thought you meant take a photo, and watch them drink more Jameson in one go than they've had in their entire life. That last one is pretty specific, but the first five are pretty much open to anyone.

The drinks are strong and the nachos & tacos we had were delicious. I love the high seats and this is situated in prime Park Slope Brooklyn, NY

Came here for the second time to celebrate my friend's birthday. She picked this place because she likes it. I didn't, because I don't (like it). First time I came was with the same person over the summer. I thought service was slow & unfriendly, but I often hold bad feeling vibes on first visit because every place can have a bad day. Came back tonight & more of the same- bad, slow service. I came & waited at the bar a few times and was ignored. The last time I waited as the bartender was doing shots with other patrons. Maybe he was too busy with shots to notice I had been waiting, and that I had been approaching the bar over & over again and waiting. I wound up getting a bottle of Diet Pepsi from the bodega across the street . Bad service has been epidemic since the pandemic, so more of the same maybe I guess. Some places have such great food that they don't even have to be nice- know what I mean?? Kind of like the Soup Nazi one that "Seinfeld" episode, but that's not this place. To be fair the food is not terrible, but it's definitely not great. Our group had an appetizer platter; the empanadas and chicken wings were pretty good, and the French fries were actually very good. The chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks were dessert dry. I had a rum punch which was decidedly mediocre; you're better off going to TGIF for drinks. So in sum I can get great empanadas & wings- better than this joint- and much better drinks, so not enough draw for me to come back. Food & drink-wise this place is steeped in mediocrity and in the toilet for customer service. Other people don't seem to talk about the horrible service, so it may just be something against me. Either way I won't be back for any reason, so we're cool

This was a spur of the moment lunch and it did not disappoint. We only tried two items from the menu but could have easily ordered about 4 other things. Everything sounded so good. We went for the monster nachos and the buffalo chicken wrap and they were both delicious! The chicken on the monster nachos was piled high & so moist and flavorful! No regrets here on this one. The buffalo chicken wrap was also very good. I think it had a bit too much buffalo sauce but that's just my personal opinion/preference when it comes to sauce. I would still order again. 10/10 would stop by again to try more things.

I'm so glad this bar is still able to operate during covid. We stumbled upon it while walking through park slope. The menu was well priced and the food sounded delicious. We started off by ordering a beer and an apple cider with chips/guac. For the main dish, I got the "BALT" panini which is essentially a BLT but with avocado and a yummy garlic aioli sauce. It was... truly just spectacular. It was so delicious!!! We also got the chicken quesadilla and that was delicious too! The service was also so nice! Our waiter was very friendly and checked up on us regularly. Also- for whatever reason we got tequila shots (on the house!) at the end?!!!!!!!??! No idea why but we were obviously so thrilled! Thank you! Will definitely be back! :)

Being from the area I usually frequent here for a few drinks. Today I just happened to be off and was able to look for some lunch in the arena. I ended up coming here, which was a great choice. I had a beer and the grilled shrimp salad. My fiancé had the fish tacos. Both dishes were excellent, especially for pub food. The salad had a generous portion of grilled shrimps, bacon, avocados, and other vegetables. The bacon was cooked perfectly and crispy. Unfortunately my fiancé was extra hungry and did not offer me a bite of her fish tacos, but I'm assuming that was good too since she didn't leave any crumbs. The place had good music and good vibes, especially for Monday afternoon. Now that I've tried the food I would recommend this place for drinks, brunch, or lunch!

BHP is my go to spot for a casual nights out, quicl drink, snack, meal or all of the above. The food selection is extensive, about 20 choices on tap, and a full bar. One of my favorite parts avout it is it's always poppin but rarely packed so they're always a spot. The food: My favorite things here are the wings, the tomato soup with cheese dippers and the shepherd's pie, im that order. While I am no expert, these are the best damn wings I've had. The food may take a bit longer to come out than I'd like but quality is worth waiting for. The portions are always just slightly more than you need. The drinks: Your standard alcoholic beverages. I haven't had anything that's not available anywhere else but all the drinks are consistently on point. The atmosphere: In the afternoon it's very chill. A great place for lunch. In fact my team does our offsite management training sessions here because it's close to the office. The music is kicking and doesn't just repeat Top 40. There are plenty of TVs playing all kinds of content, mostly sports, but I did catch NCIS here before. The place is good when flying solo or with a large group. If the weather is nice, catch the outdoor seating and watch the bustle of 5th avenue. The service: some of the friendliest bartenders around. I've gotten some protips in bartending from Maria which I put you good use for a July 4th party.

For some reason I don't often make my way to Brooklyn. On this occasion, I was in a neighborhood I was no familiar with and so I obviously used yelp to help pick a place to eat. I am so glad the reviews for this pub were accurate. Its fantastic. My girlfriend and I sat down for a quick bite to eat, but did not drink anything. I was driving that night so am sad I could not have a quick beer at this amazing bar because it is exactly my vibe. We sat down and ordered some food, which was absolutely amazing. I was not expecting great food from a bar like this, but i was very pleasantly surprised. The fajitas were great and the bacon on the mac and cheese was quite possibly the best I had ever had. There are only minor negatives holding this great pub from a 5 star review. First, the service was a bit slow, but expected as we were not seated at the bar. The fajitas were great but extremely greasy so not amazing but still great. I highly recommend giving it a try for your next happy hour!

Love the Mac and cheese here. However, last time I came here the waitress kept messing things up and we were super hungry so it was a little annoying. First she forgot our drinks, then they brought us someone else's order and when our orders came in it wasn't correct. We were there for about an hour and a half watching a game and she checked on us once. Good food but the service ruined it for me a bit.

I eat outside more often than inside. There's usually a table for us and our dog. Food is good, portions are healthy and service is friendly. Laid back. Relax and enjoy!

We dropped by Friday night to watch some college basketball. This pub had like a dozen TVs showings all the games. Definitely a great space to watch the game. You could pretty much see almost every game from any seat in the bar and you could definitely get a great view of at least a couple games from any seat. We had a few beers and some snacks. The beer selection includes mostly macros with some craft macro favorites like Bells Two Hearted and Dogfish 60 minute. Couple of local options too from Montauk, Coney Island, and possibly a couple others. We shared the monster nachos and the tomato soup with grilled cheese. I'd recommend both. Pretty good bar food.

Very average for a New York City pub. The paninis were decent and the nachos were good.

I normally come here at night but came here today for a midday snack and got there CRAB CAKES W/ Mixed greens salad ... very big and a nice portion side too. It's $15 for the price I also had a COORS Lite to wash it down .. there have other options to, and The Chicken Wings are just as good here also and there burgers also ....I sat outside by the window , 6ft away from the next table ..I definitely will be back again ...

My 100th review! And for such a worthy business. I LOVE love LOVE the black horse. It's one of my favorite places to hang out, and 1 of the best chill bars in park slope. I've been coming here for 3 years now and it's never disappointed me. Energy is always perfect here. When I don't know where to go I go HERE. Food is also always beyond perfect, the chef here knows what he's doing. Their Mac n cheese is to die for. Nachos, cheese fries quesadillas mozzarella sticks chicken fingers everything is so delicious. Solid yummy pub food. Place has such a homey cozy feel. Background music is always great. This is the Spot to go to for a nice evening catching up with friends or hanging with loved ones. All types of people show up here and it's really a comfortable setting. Black horse pub is a solid bet for a great night. I probably shouldn't be telling you people this but it's just too good. Cheers!

Good, hospitable neighborhood bar/restaurant. Many beers and excellent cocktails. Burgers and sweet potato fries also hit the mark.

I fell in love with these buffalo chicken nachos! Everything was super falavorful and it had the right amount of spice. Order the large which is good enough for two people to share. Their drinks were decent, but the 5 stars are solely for the nachos! These are a must must!!! try!!!

A superb sports bar that's also a local for so many people. Great food with a fine range of pub fare. Lorenzo is the main general while the guv'nor, Brian McNally is a gentleman and a great conversationalist. This bar is definitely showing the soccer match you want, all the NFL, baseball and hockey. Just ask!

The beau swears by this pub and I'm glad I was able to come here on two occasions so far. The first time, we ordered a tomato soup with some grilled cheese 'dippers.' Amazing and filling! In addition, we had their chicken wings which is one of the best I've had. The food was accompanied by some beers. Great experience! The second time, we had some chicken wings, mozarella sticks, a beer, a sex on the beach, and a mule. Another great experience. The barista and servers are nice here. I hope to come back and try their shepherd's pie. I was told it was good!

Came here on Saint Patrick's Day, food kinda took a while to come out but when it did it was good and hot. Ordered the corned beef and cabbage on rye, could have used a little more meat. Otherwise good spot to grab a drink and some bar food.

Try finding some food and a beer at 3pm in this neighborhood. It's surprisingly difficult! But here they had food and drinks so we had to give it a shot. Nice beer list and menu options. Sandwiches, salads, burgers, pub food. My friend got the Cuban sandwich and I got bangers and mash. It was alright! The Cuban tasted like mustard and not much else. Bangers and mash were ok too. Good portion sizes though and service wasn't bad either. Maybe a little slow but I'm not complaining it was a chill afternoon. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way to get to, but if I'm in the area, why not? Oh, the menu says $20 card minimum and the chalkboard says $15. I'm not sure which it is haha.

Nothing negative to contribute, it's a sports bar vibe with good food! Service is timely and friendly, food is good and reasonably priced, portions are nice and they accommodate to diet restrictions. I recommend their salmon tacos and a glass of rose to pair!

My favorite part about this bar is the food. Really, really good bar food. Their kitchen also stays open pretty late, which is great for me when I get out of work late. Haven't had anything here I haven't liked yet. Really good burgers. Service is always great with attentive and interesting bartenders. Good beer list. A bunch of TVs are always showing sports.

Where is a good place to go to watch soccer, even when it's NOT World Cup season? This place. Where is the bartender, more drunk than any of the patrons? This place. The place is huge, and looks like it has some serious drinkers inside. Not my thing when I'm just passing through the neighborhood, but all in all, lots of big screen TV's, and a relaxing feel to the atmosphere.

Used to come here frequently with my husband. Today was our first time back in a while and it was disappointing. First Fish tacos were soggy and bland. Then my husband found an extremely hard item in his food which looked like a small rock. When we showed the waitress she attempted to cut it open with a butter knife. When it fell off her tray she said it must have been a "really overcooked walnut".... For a burrito bowl? She showed no concern, laughed and and walked away...???????

Came here on a Sunday night to watch football. There was no wait time and got seated right away. They have a full bar and multiple tvs. They were playing soccer and football. We ordered a cuban panini, fish tacos, spicy buffalo wings and fried mix of calamari, fish and shrimp for 3 people. The plates were big and there was a lot of food left. Overall not too bad and the place served its purpose. Would definitely come back again.
