Black Nile Seafood & Soul Food Food truck

I’m extremely disappointed with the food on this visit. I ordered the fried chicken with seafood mac and cheese, seafood cornbread, broccoli, and garlic herb rice. Unfortunately, most of the meal fell short. The rice was hard and undercooked, the broccoli was completely bland with no seasoning or flavor, and while the fried chicken had decent seasoning, it was very soggy. The seafood mac was the one highlight, it had good flavor but the “seafood cornbread” was definitely not as described. It was essentially just regular cornbread with Cajun butter on top, which felt misleading. I genuinely wanted to like this,especially since we’d been looking forward to trying it for a while but for nearly $50, this just wasn’t worth it. Sadly, I won’t be returning. Order at your own risk.

A bit disappointing considering what positive things I had seen about this place on social media. The honey jerk chicken was super inconsistent; it was uncomfortably spicy for some bites, sweet and enjoyable for some bites, and completely bland in other parts. Most of it was dry. The rice under it didn’t seem too fresh. However, the mac and cheese and coconut yams were very good. Overall, the heart is there but the execution is not.

Opened til 10pm? Really? And I did confirm with a call. When I arrived there 8.15 they were already closed and boarded up. Bad business. Actually when I called i did say I was coming by After work. Nothing additional was explained. Actually I did walk into a food pick up building where I saw 2 men talking and noone at the window. I even asked them but they didn't know. Im not confused. You should put clear signage about specific instructions. Since then I been calling and I guess you're even too busy to answer for your customers....

I got my food delivered, and this isn't worth the $12. I'm annoyed and disappointed because for $12, there should be more than two chicken tenders and a corner of fries smh. The small catfish dinner was ok, I could have done without the rice since I had mac and cheese as a side. The blueberry cornbread was ok.

Nothing less than PHENOMENAL!! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I had the Mr. Black Nile for my main dish and every bit of it was worth the drive. We also shared some appetizers that were on point! To top it off, the customer service was exceptional! Hasan and his wife Fanerra were amazing hosts and took great care of us. This was the only place I went out for dinner while visiting NY and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back on my next trip over!

☺️ Let me say! Their food was delicious!. It was fresh and tasty…Real southern old cooking. I had grits and fried catfish with seafood macaroni and shrimp. And the blueberry cornbread was really delicious along with their blueberry lemonade! Excellent.

Food was very good. Would definitely eat from them again. A little mix up with the directions but more so Google maps fault. So just make sure to put 1140 Utica ave in your maps manually.

The food is amazing! So amazing that I do not have pictures for the truck as it is takeout, but I've been a fan since they've been at every location and can vouch for the delicious seafood dinners and chicken, as well as all of the sides. Don't forget the berry punch, which is excellent.

First time and won't be my last. I ordered the Teriyaki wings from BK Wing Boss and they were sooooo good and fried perfect I cannot waot to go back amd try theyother dishes. And then I went to Black Nile and got the famous catfish, mac and cheese with potato salad and I'm impressed they were all so good especially the seasoned rice under the fish. I have already to my peoples and they always go with my recommendations. I can't wait to go back again.

Great food, but too long of a wait. Also the Google address location was way off, we had to get back on train & take a bus to the correct address on Uttica. So we ordered food around 5:50 and got to the right location 1 hour later (there is 1 bathroom, but the space is only meant for pick ups.) food was finally ready for pick up by 7:20, even though we got an estimate that food would be ready 40 min earlier. TLDR: Delicious, but hard to get to and too long of a wait.
