I LOVED the host. He was hilarious and so charismatic. This place has speak-easy vibes and I forget the name of the vodka drink with activated charcoal but it was fantastic. I've been to the Magic Castle and I remember being blown away by the magic, I didn't get that feeling here, but it was still a great, entertaining night. The only thing was that they tell you to get there a half hour early so we did, but then they didn't even seat us until an hour after the show was supposed to start. I guess from the other reviews that's pretty typical.

If you're early for the magic show, hang out at their bar area. It helps set the mood for a fun night. The show was entertaining and fun. We all had good laughs! Fancy place for date nights. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Best Birthday Spot Ever! Amazing multi-genre magic show and wonderful bar staff. So entertaining, funny and articulately executed. I love that Valentino used to throw parties here and all their secret doors. Also, they have mocktails and soda for us non imbibers. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 You have to park at the public parking spots around the business. Also, if you plan to get food there you have to come at least an hour or more before the show.

This joint is in the heart of Hollywood, smack dab on the blvd strip located inside the historic Hillview high-rise (now Hudson Apartments). When you walk in, you will observe a dimly lit small room with an L shaped bar area with a few booths. The decor gives "Speak-Easy" vibes with its slightly distressed wood and with some metal nick naks and hot sauce bottles on the wall. This historic building was actually a speak-easy at one point in the early days of Hollywood, even hosting stars like Charlie Chaplin, so the layout was pretty interesting. There are two small rooms separated by the Hudson Apartments lobby that looks like a Willy Wonky corridor headed to the Emerald City. One room is the bar area, as previously mentioned, and the other room is literally where the magic happens. Yes, this place is known for their famous magic shows on the weekends and their great live music nightly. I was there to check out an artist named Matthew Grant, and he and his band did not disappoint! The show was amazing and the energy was nice. The showroom is also dark and very intimate with very close quarters, but it definitely makes for a more personal experience. I'm sure the magic show is 🔥. I would say the dress code, in my opinion, is not casual or dressy. It is "sexy/classy," if that makes sense. They also have a patio area if you need a little air while enjoying a nice cocktail. I definitely look forward to watching a magic show here next.

My friends and I loved this magic show 🤩! It was really quirky, fun and funny 😆! And it really felt like a cross between the Haunted Mansion 👻 at Disneyland 🐭 and the aura at Harry Potter 🧙‍♂️🧙🏼✨🦉🧹🍻 🗺 🌍 😂! The magicians were so vibrant and lively 😄! We were very amazed as well by the lady who could swallow fire 🔥 and razor blades! That is so crazy 😳!! The magicians really made this show such an interactive experience as well by inviting some of the audience members to participate in the show 😃! My rating of 5 stars here is for the show itself 🙂! One of my friends and I ordered the honeybunny cocktails 🍯🐰🍸. They looked nice and misty 😶‍🌫️, very much how you would expect cocktails at a magic show to match the ambiance of the mystery there. But for the price we paid, we only got 2 sips out of each of our glasses, which seemed to have more ice than actual cocktail ingredients. They looked better overall than they tasted! So for our drinks, I would give a rating of 4. Our waiter though was definitely a five-star waiter 😃! He was really courteous and friendly, and made sure he conscientiously took care of our drink orders before the “Magic Hour 🪄 🎩" started 🙂!

The paid show itself was so much fun. 5 stars for the show. They really know how to engage the crowd and I was in awe throughout the show. The reason I’ve taken off 3 stars is because of the fact that we ordered 2 drinks but they charged us for 4. This happened at the bar when my husband paid for our drinks and they said it didn’t go through so they asked him to try again so he tapped his credit card again. We didn’t get a failed transaction receipt when we should have. We tried emailing the company but have not received a response for a month. Make sure to ask for a failed transaction receipt if that happens to you! Each drink was about $20+tips so we ended up paying a lot for the 2 drinks on top of the the tickets to the magic show.

What. A. Show! My wife and I got VIP tickets for the magic show and it blew our minds! We had an amazing experience! I have so much to share but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone… just go! See for yourself. I will say this, the drinks aren’t cheap so if you’re a big drinker be prepared to spend some money ($15-20 per cocktail) but the bartender was good! Nice speak easy type vibes inside. Magic show made our month!

We had a 7:30 dinner reservation so we could have enough time to watch the 9:30 magic show. We were sat down and our food order was not taken until about 8/8:15. We were comped drinks because of the wait and we appreciated that. There were two large parties and one cook in the kitchen. Unfortunately, our food didn’t come out until 9:15, and that’s for those that were lucky enough to get their food. A majority of my party didn’t eat because their food didn’t come out and still had 30 minutes until their plates would be ready, and by this point, we were cutting it close to get seated for the magic show. The portions were small and the food was okay. Those that didn’t eat were extremely hungry after the show so we walked to the pizza place next door, which was delicious! BUT the magic show was great! They were very accommodating of our large party and sat us all together, which we were really happy about. The magicians were funny and put on a great show. It’s definitely something fun and entertaining to do than just going to a bar. If you’re interested in the show, get your tickets! I recommend eating dinner elsewhere.

For those unable to check out the magic castle..this is the next best thing. Made reservations for both bar and the magic show. A bit pricy for the v.i.p. Table but worth it when they do the close up magic and if you want to get picked to carry out some of the tricks. I suggest reserving in advance since ours was a sold out show. The theater is small and intimate and regardless where you sit, you still have a great view. Very interactive at the bar and at the theater. I dont wanna give a lot away because its a good experience to not know what u signed up for. Let's just say we got more than magic. I loved the magician that fix the lady's broken heart. He mentioned he performed at the magic castle. His whole skit was amazing. I also loved the fire breather lady. They were my favorite acts of the whole night. The service was great from easy rsvp online to being able to sit earlier than reserved. They have a whole bar and can make w/e drink not on menu per waitress. The entrees were delicious. My standard was low since food reviews weren't great but it exceeded expectations. Food was decent price 3 entrees shared came out to $105 with 3 alcoholic beverage and the guy doing table magic was a plus. Everyone was blown away with the last magic trick for those skeptics out there, check it out! U wont regret! Parking: no street parking available on a Saturday night. Only $30 parking at the back. Also, i was told that its not a hotel but apartments that are rented out via airbnb so if u want to stay there u can.

It was such a lovely experience coming here and experience a different setting. It's differently a date night place and it's very intimate. Came by to a show with live music and drinks and this place did not disappoint. For me feeling safe is priority #1 and the staff did an amazing job. I'm definitely coming back.

The entertainment is not funny. They were offensive and racist. As part of the show they picked out my husband and asked what ethnicity then proceeded to make fun of Latinos. Please don't disparage the customers for laughs. About ethnicity. I cannot believe this is happening in La in this day and age. Avoid them. Send a message.

I'm always looking for cute date ideas and stumbled upon this magic show at Black Rabbit Rose. I loooove magic, so I bought tickets for a Saturday night and dragged my boyfriend with me. The building is a large coral color building with magician posters in front. Public parking in the area was quoting between $20-30, but we got lucky and my boyfriend found street meter parking a block away that was only $3/hour. There is someone who cards you at the entrance, before entering the bar. The tickets for the magic show aren't checked until they begin seating. We were welcomed to sit at the bar and order drinks before the show started. Since I wasn't driving I was able to indulge. I ordered the Dark Arts ($17) which has lemongrass vodka, lemon, aloe, activate charcoal, and topped with a rose petal. It was a tasty start to my night. Our tickets were for 7:30pm and they didn't begin seating until about 7:20pm. There was surprisingly a large audience piling in for the show. Over 100 people, which is shocking considering how small the room is in the photos. We formed a line and small groups were allowed to enter. The reason is so that they can tell each group the rules and begin seating. Seating is predesignated, so coming early won't get you any priority. If you purchase VIP seats, there will be higher changes for audience participation. The dress code is upscale attire - no shorts, flip flops, cut-offs, baseball hats, etc. The rules were pretty simple, take all the pics you want with flash off before the show, but don't take pictures or record the show. A lot of the rules were common sense but there are dumb people out there who are inconsiderate, so it has to be stated. You might still get a few dumb idiots, but the business does a good job protecting your user experience, despite the dum dums. When you sit down, there is a drink card. Order everything you want to drink before the show starts. Once the show starts. No more drinks. We both had a VIP Potion Cocktail that came with our tickets. I decided to also try a Honey Bunny ($17) and my boyfriend had the Freddy Naff ($17). Both drinks were unique and tasty. The honey bunny had mezcal, lime, honeydew, and habanero tincture. It had a nice amount of smokiness and a distinct flavor profile. The freddy naff is good for anyone who enjoys an old fashioned, it has rye whiskey, tamarind, angostura bitters, and a flamed lemon peel. We had our drinks distributed and I actually finished most of my drinks before the show. It didn't start until slightly after 8:00pm, and we got out of there before 9:00pm so the show is a smidge under an hour. So I'm told the same group of magicians who perform at Magic Castle comes here. On the evening of our visit, we were fortunate to see the groovy Fitzgerald, the bewitching Asia Ray, and the Scottish Sensation Stuart MacLeod. They were all phenomenal. There was a great amount of audience engagement. I won't give away any of the performance but I LOVED IT! The "magic" was never before seen and absolutely amazing. They took advantage of the whole room and this building is full of MAGIC in itself. We both had a great time. I knew I was going to enjoy it, but I loved seeing my boyfriend genuinely excited and intrigued by the magic show. We had an incredible time and I would definitely consider coming back for future performances. I would have preferred a less crowded longer show, and I would be willing to pay more for it too. Highly recommended for special occasions. They will make you feel special! *ahem* I mean magical!

Pretty cute show! Unfortunately, you cannot not eat during the shows because it is an intimate setting so make sure you have a meal before or come early to order something. You can only order drinks when you're seated inside, there's a card you can fill out but once the show starts you cannot order anything. Servers will come at the end of the show with your closed out tabs. If you're looking for something fun and different to do this was a great suggestion. I really loved the Argentinian magician, he was so wholesome and adorable! Also, park right across the street, it's significantly cheaper than right behind the venue.

Thai Food and Magic?! What a weird combination but I was intrigued. The Yelp reviews were great so I decided to give it a go. I booked my group for dinner and a show after. I was planning a bachelorette party. This place is a little hard to find. I only saw a rabbit logo above the door. Street parking is hard to find, but there is a lot behind the restaurant that charges $30. Restaurant - It is very dark inside, like a speakeasy. Again, I would never think that this would be a Thai restaurant. We sat down and ordered drinks. I love the Zig Zag lady. The food is reasonably priced and so so so GOOD. I was shocked about how good it was. I can't even find a Thai restaurant near me that is this good. Service was great too. The server helped us with what to order and made sure we made it time for the show. While we wanted for the food, a magician came by and was doing some card tricks with us. He was so good and was hyping up the crowd for the show. Made me feel like a kid again. Magic show - The gentleman who seated us was very nice and upgraded us to VIP because it was a special occasion. The bride was front a center, and she became part of the show. They had a comedian, a mind reader, and a girl who did a bunch of weird thing. So much fun. It's a small room so you feel like you're really part of the show. I enjoyed every minute and I was a volunteer for two parts. I would definitely recommend this place for both the food and show. Rather than go to a loud club/bar, give the person a more fun, intimate experience by going here.

Such a fun outing! First, you start in a dark, sexy bar/restaurant. Then you are ushered down to the intimate theater in groups. Our host was very welcoming as he led us through the secret bookcase and explained the rules (no flash photography and order your drinks beforehand). The drinks are all magic themed: we had the dark arts and wine. The show featured three performers who were all great and very funny. Tip: there is a well lit and monitored lot on Cherokee that is $12 in the evenings.

Honest review incoming. The place is pretty neat. Cool front bar that you can grab expensive drinks at before the show. They line you up and walk you into the back where it's a door secret hidden door entrance. In line we were greated with a simple guess your card magic trick which made me giggle. The show space is dark and fun. You can buy drinks inside as well from a simple menu. The magic is...well, I wouldn't call it magic. Sure some basic stuff, but honestly it's all a gimmick. There were multiple planted actors in the audience that they "randomly picked" - I could smell the scam from a mile away. But hey, it could fool a lot of tourists and still made for a funny show. Once I realized it was a fake magic show I ordered two more drinks and just enjoyed the acting, they were honestly funnier in their demeanor than the magic. The last trick they involve the whole audience and I wont spoil it but that was my favorite part. Overall, it's a fun experience, keep your expectations low if you're coming for magic and keep the drinks flowing to make it a good time. If you want real magic stick to the Magic Castle. Hard to talk down this place because the staff made it a good time regardless.

It's been a while since I've seen a magic show, and this was pretty entertaining. We got seats off to the side but close to the front that it was close enough that we could see everything. The main magician was very entertaining and had a funny personality. The other two girl magicians were also entertaining and talented. Overall, we had a good time, and the main magician called one of my friends of to be part of the show.

Their martinis, noodles, and show was spectacular. I loved when the stand up magician came over to our table before the show and performed a few hand card tricks. It was awesome. Would recommend taking a +1 on a nice date night out and walk to the parking lot to enter the speakeasy.

* This review is only for food and drinks, not the Magic Show. Came here for some drinks with friends on a Tuesday night. We got there early, around 8 pm, and pretty much had the whole bar to ourselves. I like the dark, romantic vibes and the roses on the door to get in. They mostly have booths, which is my fave. Both the waitress and bartender were super friendly and nice. Good service. I had the Dove Tail, which was like a whiskey sour with egg whites. Really smooth and flavorful. Also had the Misdirection I think it was called, which tasted like a piña colada. Delish. We got hungry and had the veggie egg rolls and pad thai. Stoked that they were able to replace the shrimp with tofu so there are definitely veggie-friendly options here. Both food items were surprisingly good for bar food. Had a really nice time chatting for about 3 hours here. Started getting busy around 10:30-11. But i'll definitely be back to check out the magic show!

More of a 4.5 than a 5 but giving it a five because the ambience is so nice. This place feels somewhat like a speakeasy and I found out about it through their show The Magic Hour. Black Rabbit Rose is another Houston Brothers property and they do themed/immersive entertainment spaces like no other. We arrived as soon as the venue opened, which was a little overkill as this place doesn't seem to get very busy. We found street parking, we just had to feed the meter as the street parking nearby is only two hours max at a time. The door to enter is marked by red roses and, if you arrived early like us when no doorman was there yet, you can just open the door yourself. Inside is warm and inviting. If you do have tickets to the magic show, you enter the lobby of the next door building through an adjoining door. The tables are mostly reserved for those that have tickets to see the magic show so we thought it was worth arriving for some drinks before it. We saw the rave reviews for their food (some reviews said that it's a separate restaurant but it is indeed Black Rabbit Rose's own kitchen, the separate takeout window I don't believe is still in operation). I have to say, our Thai food was indeed amazing. I think even better than the drinks! (My Misdirection kinda tasted like Yakult although my friend really enjoyed her Honey Bunny.) We couldn't believe how tasty the food was until the friendly server told us that their chef is previously of Luv2eat Thai Bistro. They went with Thai food because the Houston Brothers grew up in their mom's Thai restaurant kitchen. The only thing not worth it, I thought, were the chicken dumplings. Each dumpling ended up amounting to be like $2.40 and they were less than a mouthful each. But man.... I'm still thinking about how tasty and hot my drunken noodles were... I asked for spicy and they gave me spicy!! My friend enjoyed her pad thai so much she already wants to come back just for the food itself. Our final bill was about $45 each with tip so that was a little ouch, but the food was worth it so we'll be back!

Cool atmosphere, food was okay. The bartender took care of us. Don't park on the street, it's a tow away zone. The staff warned me before getting a ticket, appreciated that.

The food is a tad pricey but the drinks are expertly made! The ambiance doesn't get better than this! Truly takes you out of LA w8th practicing tableside magicians and a dark sultry atmosphere. The service is at the bar, but otherwise iconic and a must go-to. Try and attend their magic shows or, better yet, burlesque shows!!!

I went for my birthday for the show. It was a great experience. The mix of comedy and magic was perfect and the entertainment was amazing. I might prefer this small show format to larger shows as all the performers were able to incorporate the crowd for their tricks. Highly recommend this place. They also make pretty good mix drinks.

Went here for my bday last night and was NOT disappointed! We went to the magic show at 7:30 last night. They started seating people around that time and the show started around 8:10ish. Bathrooms are still accessible after you've been seated and you fill out cards when you sit down to order drinks - they don't let you order during the show so order appropriately. Anyways, I went with my wife and a group of friends. The staff found out it was my bday and therefore I was asked by Fitzgerald if I was ok going on stage later, which I was - that was a blast btw! The whole show ended up being extremely interactive, with different groups of people being engaged throughout. They had 4 different performers constantly switching every 10-15 min too, which is great in this day and age because most people (myself included) have a short attention span. The tricks were pretty crazy and had most of our group scratching our heads the entire time thinking "wtf.... How?!?" The performers were also very funny so it's not only magic, but comedy as well. If you're debating on whether to check out the show, just do it. The entire staff (aside from security - expected) was super friendly / accommodating as well so not only does it have cool vibes, but great service. Bonus: the crowd it attracts is also good - not super douchey and everyone is there to just have a good time. The bar area is intimate, trendy and this is definitely a place we would go to more if we lived closer. FYI - This place is a bit hidden from the outside, but look for the sign of a rabbit symbol on the corner/ Hillview sign and you've found it.

We absolutely loved our experience at Black Rabbit Rose this past Saturday. The venue is beautiful and has a great ambience inside from the moment you walk into the main bar and lounge area, awesome decor and lighting to set the mood. But that was only the beginning. We attended the magic show, and the whole process to enter the hidden theater was well orchestrated and mysterious, and once we arrived, it was magic (literally and figuratively!). We were a party of two, and we were seated at a table in the front row (right in front of the stage), which was cool for having arrived somewhat late, AND we got to see some amazing tricks and performances up close. But honestly, any seat is good because the magic happens from different corners of the theater, magicians and performers appear from nowhere during the show when your attention is somewhere else, sometimes you'll be watching a performance at the back of the room, or in between tables (as they interact with the audience a lot). Not all of the tricks were unique to me, as I've attended SO MANY magic shows, but they were ALL done amazingly, with a level of entertainment that surpasses all other shows I've attended. This was the perfect blend of magic and comedy, I was super impressed and had such a memorable time. We had a couple drinks during the show as well as some snacks afterward, and we were pleased with the quality of everything here. My favorite drink was the Dark Arts. I was a little hesitant about the activated charcoal, but the drink overall had such great flavor, a bit on the sweeter side, but delicous. I also tried the Honey Bunny and it was okay, I wasn't a big fan of the hint of habanero flavor in the drink. For food, we had steamed gyoza and wings zapp, and that secret spicy sauce was tasty (and not very spicy, which I liked). The gyoza was fresh, perfect consistency, good flavor, satisfying. The bartender was helpful, he let us know that we could not order food if we didn't have a table (cannot eat at the bar) and all of the tables in the main bar and lounge area were full, but he asked one of the workers/servers to bring our food to us outside, as there are some tables/seating in the hallway leading toward the theater, and it worked out. Overall, we loved our experience here, the speakeasy atmosphere, the delicous food and drinks, and the awesome magic hour.

Best night of really fun entertainment! 6 of us went for a birthday celebration after we had dinner elsewhere . We ALL enjoyed the show a lot. The Host was the highlight. Just a really truly fun snd funny guy. Go! You won't be disappointed. -- no bad seats in the room as a heads up ... enjoy!

I was hesitant before going here and this ended up being my favorite part of my day in LA. The lounge is a dark mysterious vibe. John was amazing with his up close magic in the lounge. I really enjoyed that interaction. My fiancé and I also went to the Magic Show and that was amazing. We enjoyed every moment from the speakeasy vibe to the funny moments with the magicians to their amazing illusions. I recommend coming here if you like a good magic show. It was worth the price

To clients here, and we all had a great time. The type food was great, the service excellent and the magic show was beyond my expectations. I expected to see a good magic shell, but what was unexpected was how hilarious and fun it was. Will definitely be back.

Delicious cocktails and a groovy ambience. Loved the show ... retro fabulous. 60 minutes of fun, baffling tricks. I didn't try the cuisine in the restaurant, but it looked yummy.

A clandestine speakeasy tucked directly off of Hollywood Boulevard. Crisp shrimp baskets & scorching fried rice evoke smells of deliciousness into the classy low lit bar and restaurant area. Try their creative signature cocktails as well. Lemme tell ya somethin you don't know bruh. This spot is a unique vibe that will enthrall you upon entrance. To be honest I don't know if "enthrall" was the right word usage there but it seemed right. It's almost a magical vibe in here with great conversations carrying between the booths and high stools scattered around the inside area. You'll be glad you found this hidden gem. Stay Eatin Bruh.

Ok, I think this place is pretty cool. It's sort of a speakeasy thing where you have to go in, and there is a magic show for about 1 hour that was pretty awesome to see magicians perform. I really liked the mentalist performance, as well as the lady magician who was able to eat fire and blades. Honestly all that was pretty amazing to see. I heard it's usually pretty hard to get into the magic show, so you have to come at the right time. They had an assortment of drinks that you can order from. Not too much non-alcoholic options, but they did have grapefruit juice and such. I was pretty entertained while here. There's also a bar outside, and I heard they do magic too, but I did not go to bar, as I only checked out the awesome magic show.

The food and drinks were great! I really enjoyed the magic show as well, the magicians were FUNNY and interactive.

We went to the magic show and OH MY GOD it was incredible. I had so much fun!! The magic was incredible. The drinks were awesome. It was intimate and interactive and just an all around great time. I expected this to be fun but a little cheesy and it was a pleasant surprise. Service and entertainment was great. A fun night out!

Took a client here for dinner. I'll start with the vibe. Think speak easy meets old Hollywood. A bit difficult to find as there no sign. Just look for the rose covered door on the corner of Hollywood Blvd. Parking is a bit on the difficult side but there are pay lots within a block. The food was really very flavorful. Thai food for the most part. The negative was that they were out of many things. Much of their online menu was not available or even on the menu for the evening I attended. Don't expect something from the menu pics a or their online menu as they seem to change it regularly. They were out of shrimp, beef, dumplings and something else although I forget. The service, the bartenders do an excellent job on the cocktails. Complexity, smoothness and tasty too. If you aren't there for the magic show, which we didn't really know about then be prepared to be told to order from the bar because the focus is on serving the magic show patrons prior to the show beginning. Kind of odd I thought. I mean to not take our order and basically being told we weren't important enough I thought was a bit rude. I didn't let it affect the evening. Another odd thing was the roaming the magicians that didn't do any magic. Just walked around with cards. It was almost like they were shy. I didn't get it. I made eye contact a few times to see if they would come over but no luck. Would I go again? Probably. Maybe to try the magic show but I'm not sure I'd recommend it for just dinner if you're looking for a dinner experience. Not because the food wasn't good, because it was. But because it's basically a semi self service ordering system. However, a plus side was I found it very affordable. The food was good and cheap with many things at $10. Super difficult in this post inflation environment. Sorry no pics as it's quite moody inside and a bit dark.

Ended up overpaying significantly more than other sites were offering. Called 30 minutes after purchasing to cancel and they were adamant about not wanting to accommodate me. Ended up wasting $138 and not even going. Scam of a venue. Buyer Beware. Used fever app to purchase and they claimed the venue would not accept refunds. Be careful when purchasing!

Who should come here: People who want a low effort, high alcohol intake date night. Definitely has that intimate date vibe with the limited seating. The more you drink, the better the tricks. Come an hour before the "show starting" of you want to eat something before the show. Or be willing to stay after. What I got: Dark Arts and a regular margarita. Dark Arts looks pretty and tasted light. Margarita was a strong pour, thank God. When to go/where it is: There's two showings 7:30pm and 9:00pm. It's nestled on Hollywood in a rather umpresuming area. You'd almost miss the bouncer if you weren't trying to find it. It's all street parking or paid lots. How the service was: This is a combo review for bar service and the magic show. The service was strange. The first bartender we had didn't want to be there and almost didn't know how anything worked. He missed a drink in our order and didn't know how to order food (despite the servers pointing us in his direction for food). The second bartender was much nicer and actually cared that we enjoyed what we ordered. Here's my biggest gripe: we ordered a quick bite when we arrived AFTER confirming with the servers if they thought it would arrive in time for the show - theres a strict no food during the show rule, but you can order drinks. I was hesitant but they said it was fine so we ordered. At 7:30pm someone came to the bar area and rushed everyone into the hallway to line up. I figured the food (that we already paid for) was a lost cause and got in line. We then stood there for another 10 minutes before we were seated. Then we waited for another 35 minutes before the show started...We even told the person who ushered everyone into the line that we were waiting for food and they made it seem like it was pertinent that we lined up as soon as possible. Tonight we had whoever the first magician was (Jokes), Elizabeth (Singer) and Hennick (Cards). No fire or bands. Overall, if you've got no better plans and want to drink this might be the place for you. But personally I will not be returning.

This place is worth coming once. We were here to celebrate a belated birthday. I made dinner reservations for 7pm on a Friday night by sending an email to the establishment. I got a response back right away. Dinner is served in the bar area. There are booths and tables for dining and drinks. The food served is a mix of Chinese and Thai. I would recommend eating somewhere else before hand. The food was mediocre to below average. We got the drunken noodles and the pot stickers. The portions were small and the food not authentic. There is a magician who floats around in the dining area from table to table performing close magic. He was entertaining although I wished he had arrived after I have eaten. Our food had just arrived and I was hungry and wanted to focus on the food. I would have enjoyed his magic more after my tummy was full. He did ask for tips which got a little awkward because we were not prepared. After dinner we got ready to be seated for the 9:30pm magic show. I ordered the tickets online from their website and the process was easy. The manager will seat you according to your party size. The room where the magic was performed was small and intimate. You order your drinks first before the shows starts, and the show lasts about one hour. Sadly our drinks never came and we couldn't wave down the server to check as the show was going on. They had taken our credit card but the drinks never came. When the show finally ended and our credit card was returned charged, we explained to our server Liz what happened and she said she wouldn't charge us. She said she would bring us a couple of drinks to make up for the wait and negligence. We waited some more and the drinks never came. Then another server came to return the credit card for us and we had to explain again what happened and he said he would make sure the charges are voided. He did end up bringing the birthday boy a drink on the house (the one he ordered) and the manager came and apologized. We appreciated Tony and the manager for trying to make up for what happened. Overall, we had a great time and it was a memorable evening. Parking is a challenge in this area of Hollywood. I ended up paying $30 to park in a private parking lot in the back. This place only takes cash and does get packed up by midnight. I did feel safer parking my car there and it's right behind Rabbit Rose. It is a good venue for date night, birthday or bachelorette party or entertaining out of town guests. Food: 2/5 Service: 3.5/5 Magic: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5

Went for drinks and the magic show. Got there a bit after 8 on a Saturday for the 9:30 magic show with a group of 6. Had drinks (the Dark Arts is great!). The magician who roams the bar doing card tricks was awesome and friendly. Show was at 9:30 but we weren't seated until 10:15 and it probably started around 10:30. Show was awesome - magic tricks blew your mind and the host magician Fitzgerald was pretty funny. Our group was a bachelorette and there were other groups celebrating birthdays and the magicians involved the bride and those celebrating birthdays which made the night extra special! The show ended a bit before midnight. The website makes it sound like it'll start pretty close to ticket time and end an hour later, so be aware it can take longer. Only negatives were that they added an automatic gratuity to our bar tab that I didn't notice when closing the tab for our group. (At no point did we have a server and we were told at the bar by the bartender that we could grab an open table as we took our drinks. We ordered all drinks at the bar with the bartender.) Ended up tipping $100 total on a $230 tab (including tax). It was frustrating to realize that later on since I hadn't been to any other bars that did that. It felt manipulative that they set it up that way knowing you're trying to close a tab and go home, and you're trying not to hold up the bar line reading the receipt. Good reminder that I need to throughly review the receipt anyway. And then the bathroom situation is rough. One bathroom for girls and one for guys, and they are pretty gross. Overall - fun night and I would recommend going here if you haven't been! Personally, I still feel sour about the automatic gratuity so I wouldn't go back myself.

My first time at this magic club. It's a very speak easy vibe which I loved! The bar where we waited had a lot of character and unique what looked like to me original fixtures. The staff was very accommodating and leaned into their roles being mysterious and amusing. The host, well the host he was personable, entertaining, funny, engaging. He was, everything you want in a host. All the acts were very good. They weren't just performers they really seemed to enjoy what they do. The hidden smokes filled doorways were a great touch. I would get the general admission since vip only gets you a drink that well, was ok but didn't really want. The server was very attentive and they didn't get in the way during the performances. I would recommend to anyone interested in something new and different. It did not disappoint it was very entertaining!

Super fun experience if you're in the area -drinks are pricey like everyone says but it's no different from any other club like the Improv, etc. so it didn't bother me really. Magic was cool, not quite Magic Castle level but the performers were really fun and engaging with a couple of especially good illusions/mentalism. Started 30 mins late but was a tight hour so the timing worked out great for us. All in all, a great way to round out a fun evening in Hollywoo.

Unexpected gem of a good time. We stopped in for a drink before dinner at Musso and Frank. We were delighted with 2 excellent cocktails, as well as an "up close" magic show since we were not staying for the scheduled magic show in their small theater. When we return to La La Land we will come back to the Black Rabbit Rose for drinks and a show.

My husband and I had the best time at the magic show and staying and eating afterwards. The show was comedic, interactive, and great. The food - we got the drunken noodles and spicy basil beef w/rice. They tasted the same with the same spices and seasoning but honestly we were fine with that. We found the flavor delicious, herby, some spice, and savory. We saw some close up magic from the magician roaming around the bar/restaurant area and it was AMAZING!! The good tricks blew our minds. Loved it here

What a great night! I took clients here since we discovered we shared an interest in magic, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The Thai food and craft cocktails were delicious and the magic was some of the best I've seen. But what was unexpected was how hilarious the MC and magicians were. We laughed all night and my clients said it was the most fun they had had in a while. I'll definitely be back! Parking was manned and conveniently located behind the building.

My husband and I went to the Black Rabbit Rose for his birthday last weekend. We attended the magic show and did not have dinner. It is located at the corner of Hudson and Hollywood Blvd. and if you're not paying attention you'll drive/walk right by it. The door is adorned in red roses and a bouncer is seated outside- he was nice enough to take our picture before we entered. Tickets to the magic show were $55.00 per person. Once you enter, the ambiance is "spooky" and dim. You walk into the bar/restaurant side which seemed a bit small. There were a few booths to the right and left sides before exiting into a foyer to prepare to enter the area where the magic show is. One thing that was really neat is there's a hidden entrance to the magic show that is similar to what you would see at a speakeasy. The host did a really good job of explaining the "rules" (no filming/pictures during the magic show, no heckling during the show, etc.) before escorting attendees to their tables. The magic show room is on theme with the ambiance in the restaurant and has several 2-person tables and booth seating for larger parties. A waitress will come to take your drink order from a card that you need to complete at your table. I ordered a glass of white wine (think it was Riesling) and my husband ordered the Honeybun which was delicious! The magic show was a lot of fun! The magicians/hosts kept us engaged, asked for crowd participation for several of their sets, and remembered the names of everyone who was celebrating a birthday or special event - that was a nice touch. My ONLY gripe is the automatic 18% (or 16%, can't remember) that is added to your bill. Customers should be informed prior to ordering to expect this on their bill. We spent $36.00 on one glass of wine and the Honeybun drink which included the automatic gratuity. I know, right!??? Last, parking. Parking is CRAZY! Since we were running behind, we opted to park in a lot that was around the next corner - which would've cost $30.00 if we hadn't negotiated it down to $20.00 because we didn't need parking through 3am. Overall, aside from the surprise of the automatic gratuity, we really enjoyed ourselves. Because it's a magic show, I can't see us returning unless we can confirm the show material is different from what we experienced already.

We went for the first time to The Black Rabbit Rose, what an awesome experience! We saw the Great Fitzgerald show. It was more than just magic, it was a full show! Fitzgerald was terrific along with his talented cast, Asia Rae & Elizabeth Messick. Fitzgerald included the right amount of comedic humor in with the excellent magic. We ate in the lounge before the show and the food was great! The ambiance of both the lounge and the theater is old Hollywood "speak-easy". Really a gorgeous location. We would HIGHLY recommend this experience!! We will definitely go back!

This was a very fun experience! I recommend getting tickets to the magic show and arriving early to have dinner first. The magic show was very entertaining and the performers were hilarious! The finale act left us all speechless! There are a handful Magic-castle-esque surprises! We visited on a Saturday night and it was extremely crowded at the bar around 9 PM. It was difficult to close out our tab, and it looks like they could've used a couple more servers and bartenders that evening. Just be prepared to wait and be patient. Parking was difficult and it would be nice if the website recommended a handful of nearby parking spots with their rates. Google nearby parking lots and prepare ahead of time to walk 5 to 15 minutes and also prepare to pay around $30 to park. The biggest challenge was getting a hold of their phone line to make a dinner reservation in advance of our magic show ticket time. I never got a hold of someone over the phone. Send an email to their reservation account and they will help you from there!

The show was fantastic! I will be back again. It's pretty small make sure to purchase your tickets ahead of time. The whole vibe was moody and mysterious. Asia Rey was great I was so close and I couldn't figure out how she can play with fire that way and not get burned! The other 2 guys were really funny and put on a great show the magic was on point borderline sorcery jk. Took a star off because of Service. Service was meh...our group ordered drinks and only 1 drink arrived. And it took forever. There was no Thai food from next door the day we went and not enough cards at our table so everyone could do the last trick I can't post drink pics because we didn't get them. Parking in the back was convenient but steep at $30 to park yourself.

We came here for dinner before a magic show, and arrived right at opening so it was quiet. The atmosphere of the dining area is so unique and fun - like you've stepped out of bustling Hollywood and back in time. And the service was amazing - the staff took excellent care of us. The food was fine - small Plate twists on Asian fusion, but a little pricey for what we actually got. The cocktails were just okay - the egg white in my sour was old so it had that funky wet dog flavor. They said they used to have a more robust cocktail menu but were out of some key ingredients. I would definitely return for the cool atmosphere and amazing service staff, but personally, I would stick to a standard gin and tonic over their signature drinks. As we were ending our meal, roaming magicians approached the table with some fun close-up illusions that set the tone for the magic show itself. Really cool place!

I have attended Black Rabbit Rose a few times now pre pandemic and post pandemic. This is run by the daughter of the owner of the Magic Castle. This is a fun date night activity or a fun evening with a group of friends. The show is held in a small room making the magic show very intimate. There is a lot of audience participation. Magician Fitzgerald emceed and kept the audience entertained through the night. Aisha Ray, does a lot of tricks with fire and keeps the crowd at the edge of their seats. The main magician was funny and did not disappoint. The show lasted for a little over an hour and a half. We got a free welcome drink as well. They have cocktails and Asian food for purchase as well. A definitely entertaining night in Hollywood. You can discounted purchase tickets via Goldstar or online on their website. There a few parking lots right by the venue.

Love this place. Always a great time filled with good music and a dapper dressed crowd. The doorman is thoughtful and makes a great first impression. The Thai fusion style food menu didn't disappoint either! Try the #tarochips... Another well designed venue by the Huston Brothers.

I went there for dinner & then the show. I had a great time however- the waiter from the show left early so the female waitress who cashed us out charged us for the wrong bill. When this was pointed out she said she would take care of it & I waited 20 minutes while being told I couldn't wait in the theater& I was in the way for them setting up. The girl came back with the correct bill but said she needed a manager who wasn't there to help cancel the wrong charge. It's now been a few weeks & I've been charged for an extra bill that was not mine to pay. I emailed the company as their voicemail is full & a few weeks ago someone responded that they would look into it but now they've ghosted me & I still have the 40 dollar charge on my credit card. This terrible customer service not to mention a scam of stealing money that doesn't belong to them.

What an Amazing show! Ambiance was fantastic, performers are Amazing! Only flaw is the low quality and overpriced liquor. They will make you wait to start the show but it is so worth it!!

Fun crowd and funny magicians. Love the service for cocktails before the show starts. You have to eat food before and after, but the prices are pretty good. While waiting there's a lounge area I highly recommend in the back and outside on the patio. The inside is classy vintage that reminds you of the 1920s vibe.
