Sour Seed Bagels Review - Wynwood - Miami - The Infatuation

"If you keep a detailed spreadsheet of nearby bagel options, go ahead and add Sour Seed Bagels to it. This little Midtown spot is serving really good sourdough bagels with a crispy crust and excellent toppings. They have bagel standards, like a classic lox and a creamy egg salad. But they also have more creative options, like smoked river trout and the sweet and salty, which comes with tahini, smashed berries, honey, and salt. Whatever you get, order it with preserved lemon and Calabrian chili schmear, which has a perfect heat and acidity from the lemon. There's not much to the interior. It's mostly a takeout spot, although there are a few tables outside. It can get crowded on the weekends, so try to come early. photo credit: Cleveland Jennings Sour" - Ryan Pfeffer

NYC Restaurants Are Pivoting to Pizza During the Pandemic

"Leveraging a wood-burning oven that produces Montreal-style bagels by day, this perma-pop-up turns out Sicilian squares and puffy rounds by night; the menu ranges from straightforward slices to maximalist creations like the Bob’s Pie, a flavor-packed kitchen-sink pie with three cheeses, soppressata, Castelvetrano olives, banana peppers, and housemade chimichurri." - Grub Street

Black Seed Bagel has been fueling me up for the last three years. I am happy to say that I am a regular at the Grand Central location. The staff is always great to me even in the busiest conditions. The order is always correct, the staff is amazing and 99% of the time the best part of my work day is in Black Seed! Keep doing what you're doing. Much love.

Wasn’t expecting much from this place but I went because I was soooo hungry. Everyone here is so friendly and accommodating. I ordered the veggie bagel and it did not disappoint. It was incredible! Yeah it took longer to get it (a few people in front of me and it was during the lunch rush hour)… but so worth it. You guys rock!

How bad do you genuinely have to suck to mess up a “SALMON CLASSIC” and give me TURKEY AVOCADO when there are literally 2 people waiting in line? Tastes like cardboard too. First and last time in this incompetent place, absolute waste of 15 dollars

A hidden little bagel shop which I visit when I’m in NYC, which is usually twice a month. Lovely bagels but the staff aren’t the friendliest. Today my number was shouted and my bagel was literally thrown down onto the counter top. The latte further along was also part of my order yet no one said. When I asked, I was either not heard, or ignored. Although the lady looked at me. Very poor customer service. Shame, as the bagels are lovely and I always recommend. It’s also freezing inside with the aircon. I kept my coat on and was still freezing. I think I’ll go elsewhere next time.

Small, cramped bagel shop. I asked for a Salmon Classic on a toasted everything. I pass this place often going to/leaving from work, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I was never so disappointed in a salmon bagel. Aside from the fact that they charge $15 (average price anywhere else), there was barely any salmon and they completely forgot to toast the bagel. I found the bagel itself lacking. And they don't even scoop! NEVER AGAIN! Ess-a-bagels on Third Ave is out of the way, but a much better value than this drek.

Slowest bagel place in all of Manhattan. I’ve unfortunately been several times as my office is extremely close. It is constantly slow and the staff is constantly confused. Today I ordered a plain bagel not toasted and not only did they toast it, they burned it. So gross. This is NYC. So many better options. Please don’t do it.

Ordered 3 plain bagels (got these right away) and 2 sausage/egg/cheese bagels (worker said 8-10 minutes - no problem). Checked in on the sandwiches at 20 minutes because it wasn't that busy and several people behind us in line got their food - we had a train to catch and thought they might have forgotten our order. Staff was rude in response and said again it would be 8-10 minutes, so my wife mentioned it'd been 20 minutes already. It was uncomfortable at this point and when our number finally got called several minutes later, the eggs were clearly undercooked (my guess: they *did* forget the order and then rushed it) and we threw out the sandwiches. On the plus side, the plain bagels were fine, but I won't be going back because of the rude/slow service and unappetizing sandwiches.

The bagel here was just okay. It wasn’t very toasted and had a stretchy yet dry texture. The cream cheese was also unusual, overly sweet but lacking in flavor. Despite the lack of customers, the service was a bit slow. Considering the many great bagel spots in NYC, I wouldn’t recommend this place, but it might still be worth a try if you’re curious.
