"Now in its sixth year, Black Sheep Bagel has made itself a Harvard Square staple and expanded with a little market space in Cambridgeport, which is a short walk to the scenic Charles River Esplanade. Treat yourself to a variety of bagel flavors here, including flavors like cajun spice and za’atar." - Valerie Li Stack, Dana Hatic
"This below-ground bagel spot in Harvard Square essentially functions as a coffee shop. There’s a good amount of seating, free wifi, and a selection of coffee that also includes cafe con leche. Except at Black Sheep, you also get the added bonus of ordering something like the avocado toast on a cajun bagel with a side of beer or wine. The only downside is that it closes at 3pm during the week." - Joel Ang
"Black Sheep Bagel Cafe, which serves a mix of open- and closed-faced bagel sandwiches, opened in Cambridge’s Harvard Square last month." - Dana Hatic
"Black Sheep Bagel Cafe (56 JFK St., Cambridge), a bagel shop with an adorable mascot, opened over the weekend, filling Harvard Square with bagel sandwiches, cream cheese, and coffee. Founders Shoshanah Garber and Manny Ramirez spent several months building out the space, painting the exterior, and preparing a small patio, in addition to building the tables used inside the shop. Black Sheep has been showing off some of its menu items on Instagram, including more than a dozen bagel varieties, ranging from wheat oat and cinnamon raisin to tomato rosemary, chocolate chip, and everything. Cream cheeses are made in-house, including a veggie version with carrots and bell peppers. Black Sheep also serves its own take on avocado toast (served on a bagel, of course), a caprese bagel with tomato and mozzarella, and what it calls Lox 2.0, an open-faced bagel with scallion cream cheese, smoked salmon, cucumber, and dill. For its coffee, Black Sheep sources beans from Rao’s Coffee. “All of our partners are going to be local vendors from the Greater Boston area,” Garber previously told Eater. “It’s very important to us to stay as local as we can.” Black Sheep Bagel Cafe operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m." - Dana Hatic
"Cambridge’s bagel scene is about to get a little bigger: Black Sheep Bagel Cafe is on the way to 56 JFK St. in Harvard Square, run by two Cantabrigians intent upon bringing bagel sandwiches, coffee, and pizza bagels to their neighborhood. Black Sheep is the work of Shoshanah Garber and Manny Ramirez, who saw a need for a locally-run bagel shop in Harvard Square that provided a break from franchise brands (like Dunkin’ Donuts). Their aim: to serve quality bagels and provide a gathering place for the community." - Dana Hatic
