"Fans come to trendy downtown restaurant Black Sheep for the tacos, and they stay for the tequila. The bright, tropical-influenced space is almost always humming with activity, as diners delve into hand-pressed tortillas topped with chicken tinga, chorizo, seared rockfish, and spiced black bean tacos. The cocktail list is anchored by creative takes on classic margaritas and palomas." - Megan Hill, Jessamyn Tuttle

My wife and I ate here today while on vacation from the Midwest. I have to say this is our favorite place we’ve ever ate at while on vacation. We tried 4-5 different types of the tacos between us and loved everything. Service was friendly and welcoming as well!

Wauw, this is next level! 1st of all, great staff, very friendly and checking in on a good pace. Cocktails were very good, that little extra on top of the classics. At last but really not at least, the food was top notch, punchy taste and quality products. Did not wait long on my food. Great work behind the scenes. Would recommend for sure! Thanks

I wanted to see what the hype was about…We had their fish, fried chicken and steak tacos. The tacos were pretty good, we loved their green hot sauce but the fried chicken taco tasted like a McDonald’s chicken wrap. (I would skip out on that one) Our first two drinks tasted bitter but the pineapple drinks were okay. The staff were friendly…we just lost our server for a while. Oh, and just a heads up, each taco is $6!

I really enjoyed Black Sheep for lunch last week. We were out walking around and stopped in and sat in the outdoor area since it was a nice warm day. Everything is fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed a Paloma and some guac with an order of the bean dip too. I unfortunately forgot to take pictures of my tacos but the fish taco was extremely crispy and held together well. The carnitas were cooked just right and the flavors blended great with some of the verde salsa from the salsa trio. The pork belly taco was good and not too rich, it was balanced well. The mushroom kale taco is also a great combo, especially if you’re looking for a meat free option.

Is this really a bar? No. It's more of a fun cantina that serves amazing tacos that brought me back to my trip to Guatemala. The atmosphere is lively, positive and reminds me of greeting a friend you haven't seen in a long time. We tried an appetizer and 4 different tacos and EVERYTHING was fantastic! I ordered a Quetzal (the Guatemalan dollar) it's a beautiful cocktail that was light, delicious and was a great compliment to any Summer taco Tuesday. The staff was very friendly, upbeat and the right amount of attentive. The decor is very welcoming, comfortable and friendly. We're always looking to explore more of Bellingham and this was a great place for date nite, dinner friends, or even a great place for drinks.

Happy hour at the Black Sheep on Tuesdays is buy 2 tacos get 1 free. The verdita Dude-a-Rita is my favorite drink in town. The fish taco is a crispy gluten free batter - the crunch is superb. Their chicken tinga tacos are something that everyone should try. Great place for a date night or meeting with friends.

Nice atmosphere, plants all over the walls, looks good, very Bellingham. Tacos are delicious and decent sized. I tried 4 tacos, chicken, carne asada, pork, and potato with beans. The potato one was a bit bland to me compared to the others, but I think it was their diatrty special one, so it gets a pass. Overall, it is delicious and would recommend it.

Black Sheep has easily become an iconic "Bellingham" restaurant with how much of a staple they are to so many. Love that it's 21+ and that they not only have a mega-awesome (and delish) cocktail menu, but additionally has food that's so good people constantly talk about it. Additionally fun to enjoy their breakfast menu when you swing by earlier in the day, and constantly just enjoy the atmosphere and service by staff. Faves Off the Menu: - Tacos: Carne Asada, Carnitas, Fried Chicken, Baja Fish, Pork Belly, Mushroom + Kale - Snacks: Chips + Guac, Queso Fundido, Salsa Trio, Queso Nachos - Breakfast: Potato & Black Bean Taco, Breakfast Burrito - Drinks: House Grapefruit/Raspberry-Lime/Blueberry-Lemon Soda (non-alcoholic), Dude-A-Rite (any flavor), House Paloma If you haven't yet checked out Black Sheep, consider it next on your list!
