Quaint, local go-to for infusions & creative cocktails with a chill vibe & occasional live music.
"After closing its Deep Ellum original in 2020, Black Swan reemerged in East Dallas last year like a phoenix from the ashes. Or like whatever resurrected swans do. It looks impressively similar to before and features the same velvet Clint Eastwood portrait that anchored the bar for years. But the drinks have been updated, with new recipes like a freezer martini pumped full of umami thanks to koji tincture, or the thirst-quenching Duke of Slowjamistan, which pairs gin with celery soda—and is a strong contender for drink name of the year." - kevin gray

"This tiny spot is the kind of place real cocktail nerds want to drink. With a menu developed by owners Gabe Sanchez and Ryan Payne, there are strong new classics. The Sue Ellen and Pam Ewings, both takes on an espresso martini made with vodka and tequila, are great examples. They’re clear because the booze is washed with espresso beans, and then a little espresso oil gets dropped in — it’s a rad evolution for one of Dallas’s favorite drinks. If you don’t know what you want, just give the bartenders a sense, and they will whip something up. The vibe is the inside of a nerd’s bedroom — think a velvet painting of Clint Eastwood and more Star Wars and concert posters than one can count. There are a few street spots nearby, but the shared valet with the restaurant next door is free, so why not use it?" - Courtney E. Smith, Kevin Gray
"As if opening one bar a year weren’t enough, Gabe Sanchez has reopened the beloved Black Swan Saloon, this time in Old East Dallas, along with his partner Ryan Payne, following the opening of Saint Valentine. How are the two different? Mainly the size — the space and menu at Black Swan are smaller. The good vibes are the same." - Courtney E. Smith
"A cult favorite bar for serious cocktail enthusiasts reopened by Gabe Sanchez and Ryan Payne." - Courtney E. Smith
