Google
Strange location in a back alley but the donuts are delicious. Was a little disappointed by the availability of flavors I specifically went there for being that they literally just opened for the day

Google
I recently used Blackbird Doughnuts for our Resident Appreciate Event in June and it was a big success! The doughnuts and the doughnut wall where a HUGE hit, but the service is also unmatched! They team made everything easy and seamless from day 1! I highly recommend Blackbird Doughnuts if you are looking to WOW any clients, guests, or residents! 10/10

Google
Since Blackbird added Sally’s sandwiches to their menu, this will be a regular spot for me. I split the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and the California club. Both were extremely yummy! It’s hard to find a true simple sandwich spot in the city; fairly robust and flavorful! And of course you’ll be tempted to try their amazing donuts

Google
Blackbird never disappoints. Great flavors, seasonally always changing, donuts have variety depending on which type of dough/base you get. My favorite is the chocolate cake frosted but it always runs out! Get here early!

Google
Blackbird has become a staple in the Boston donut scene. The menu is never the same, but the pastries always hit their mark. The Brighton outlet is more limited in hours and space than their other stores, but that's because the massive bakery in back powers the rest of the operation. This week's recommendations: Mango Swirl and Strawberry Sprinkle

Google
This spot is a little tricky to find unless you’re in the parking lot facing the store. There is a great variety of complex donuts but I would probably not recommend this spot for classics. The donuts are quite large. Staff are nice. I’d be interested in trying the other locations. There is not really much seating here.

Donuts are one of my wife's favorite desserts. Although she was very thin ten years ago, she has put on weight recently. I guess it must be because of donuts. Nevertheless, I still recommend everyone to taste the donuts at this restaurant, they are really delicious!

Google
I'm not the biggest donut fan but had come here a number of times through the last few years for donuts and coldbrew... BUT... Their sandwiches are absolutely amazing. Must-stop in A/B for lunch.

Yelp
Kind of a weird take out only location, but the staff was friendly and the doughnuts were yummy! We tried the blueberry Bismarck, the Shirley temple, the matcha, the Boston cream, the black raspberry, the s'more, and the guava monkeybread. I really liked the Boston cream and the matcha doughnut. The black raspberry was a little too sweet for me. They were a little pricey overall.

Yelp
Stopped into Blackbird Doughnuts on Thursday morning for coffee and treats. Everything was fine, but with a weird location and higher prices, I don't see myself returning. Quality: Blackbird Doughnuts was a perfectly fine spot for a coffee and some doughnuts. They have limited drink options, but I was glad they served up a solid Cold Brew. It is hard not to order a few doughnuts once you see them on display. The display does not have the prices though, which were quite high and I don't think worth it. I ordered the Cider Minis, Vanilla Glazed, Pumpkin Cheesecake Bismarck, and Blackberry Cobbler. The Vanilla Glazed was my favorite of the bunch, but they were all a lot more dense than I expected. Quantity: Standard sizes for both coffee and doughnuts. Value: $3.50 for the Cold Brew. $3.50-$4 for the various Doughnuts. Ambiance: The Blackbird Doughnuts in Brighton has a very strange location. It sits behind a warehouse that is organized a bit like a strip mall. I had to walk around the entire building before reaching the small storefront. Inside it is a very simple space, but one with a large window into the operation in the back. No tables or chairs means everything is to-go. Crowd: I was the only customer on Thursday morning. It is hard to imagine this is ever a busy location. Service: It seemed like new staff who struggled a bit with my order. However, they were extremely sweet and quick to apologize. Parking: Plenty of parking in the weird private lot behind the warehouse building.

Yelp
I bought this lil baby cake for my boyfriend's birthday (he was born on Halloween) and I was not disappointed. It was extremely cute, exactly what I had imagined. The only problem was that the icing had kind of a strange flavor to it...it won't stop me from coming back, but I hope they fix it!

Yelp
Interesting location that's tucked behind an abandoned building and down an industrial alley. Blackbird Doughnuts is the bougie donut shop that's popular to date. At $3.50 a pop, I long reminisce the mom and pops donut shop for a glaze donut for $0.75 the size of a plate. There's a limit to 1-2 people within the small counter area but there's plenty of outside standing area to wait outside. Donuts are displayed in a case while drinks line the back. This Brighton location acts as a warehouse with a storefront. One person takes the order and the other fills it. I recommend getting a receipt since it seems like orders can be easily messed up for such a simple task. Instead of stacking the donuts in a bag I wish they offered a box so the customer can review the order and they don't end up like a smooshed mesh if they have a glaze. I ordered the flavors of the week: cinnamon swirl, peach jam, and summer corn. To my dismay when I got home they gave me a regular glazed donut instead of the summer corn. The brioche donuts are fluffy, large, shareable, and a great splurge.

Yelp
This was truly a disappointing experience. Blackbird Doughnuts was hyped up so much by my friends for offering incredible varieties. And yes, they did have a variety of very strangely flavored donuts (ever heard of dragon fruit açaí?) However, the dough of the actual donut was nothing special, too bready and chewy for my liking. It seemed like they just lightly flavored their frosting and called it a day. Also, this location was so difficult to find and just very sketchy looking.... I think I'll stick with Krispy Kreme for now.

Yelp
There are only 2 vegan flavors at any given time, but I have to give 5 stars for the May vegan flavor - brioche filled with ube mousse and topped with coconut flakes. The mousse is so whipped and light and *not too sweet*. Wish these were a permanent flavor! The brioche is really good too, very fluffy and airy and just slightly chewy.

Yelp
Jesus, help me. I just got a half dozen variety pack from here and by the end of the day I'm SURE they will be gone. The doughnuts are thick and fresh. Apparently they usually have some really cool flavors, but they are keeping it simple during quarantine. Even with barely any choice over what I got, I am so so impressed by the quality and size of these doughnuts. I can't wait to come back once this is all over and try some unique flavors!

Patrick J.

Yelp
Looking for a quality donut? Well look no further as Blackbird shall fill your donut craving needs! Donuts are about $3 per but if you buy 6 you can get it tax free. While these donuts are a bit on the pricey side they don't disappoint. My favorite as of now would probably be the raspberry crumb bar donut. First time I had it, it seemed like I was eating an actual donut made of raspberry. I try to avoid using the word moist on a pretty consistent basis but the raspberry crumb bar donut is moist AS FREAK!!! Be warned that after you eat it the tastes lingers in your mouth making you wish you would have taken the time to get to know the donut, maybe even have gone on a few dates with it before eating it within 15 seconds (inserts salivating face). The staff offered solid recommendations so if you're having trouble deciding don't be afraid to ask. My suggestion...order them all!

Yelp
Delicious and unique donuts. The Brighton location is just a bit confusing to find. We circled around walking for 20 minutes before we finally called them to clarify. Glad they picked up will definitely be back.

Yelp
There are things you don't want to hear, but have to... There are two reasons why you should come here: 1. The coffee. 2. The pictures. (Because the donuts aren't what they're hyped up to be.) I wanted an iced coffee, but they only offered cold brew which was fine because it was so good! Location: It's kind of hidden. It's on the side of a white building in an ally, no big signs or anything. There's letters going vertically on a side of the wall that says "Blackbird." I tried the Salted Pretzel doughnut and the Java Berry, both very mediocre... I was a little disappointed, but I got cute pics, so... whatever??? My extra 2 cents: The coffee here was really good. Like, very good. I'll be back for the cold brew.

Yelp
My first time visiting the Brighton location of Blackbird and I definitely agree it's in an odd location as part of some warehouse parking lot location. Luckily I spotted their truck and knew we were in the right area. The shop is extremely small but I was super excited to get donuts here. I ordered online to pick up at a later time. I was excited to see their summer menu of donuts and got summer corn, key lime pie, sticky bun, chocolate chip cookie, and marshmallow fruit cup (they sold out of fruit punch). I loved raised donuts and the sticky bun was definitely my favorite out of this bunch. It's super sweet and has a similar glaze, so you can get the best of both worlds from this donut. The summer corn is quite mild and the small corn chunks got stuck in my teeth. The salt added to the chocolate chip cookie donut added the perfect salty to enhance the sweetness of the chocolate. The marshmallows and fruit cup wasn't the best combination for me, but the donut glaze was still good. The key lime was good and had a subtle flavor to it. I love that they have these seasonal flavors and I can't wait till fall to see what they come up with!

Yelp
Ordered a 6 pk during quarantine and was very excited to finally try them with my family. The jelly and chocolate were delicious and awesome! Unfortunately the lemon lime was not enjoyed. Strawberry frosted - the frosting tasty but the actual donut was tasteless :(

Jessie C.

Yelp
So friendly, and very tasty. I bough a dozen holes to bring to softball practice and they were a huge hit. Light, airy and sweet. Yum. Thanks! I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
DE-LI-CI-OUS DOUGH-NUTS!!! Most of Blackbird's doughnuts are cakey instead of the fried and airy type that you might otherwise imagine when you think of doughnuts - but if you're fine with that - know that this is cakey doughnut heaven. Large, moist, tasty, and thicc (yes with two c's). That said they have a limited quantity and limited amount of flavors everyday so make sure you get in early so you can get the variety you like! Personal favorites: spicy hot chocolate and pink lemonade doughnuts.

Liz B.

Yelp
I guess I don't get it. $3 for a donut that is ok, but definitely looks better than it tastes. I've been to other hipster donut places like VooDoo in Denver and I think they are much better. The store is tiny and cute - no seating, and it's in a bizarre location, basically on the back side of an industrial park. I'm not a Dunkin' fan at all but I think you could find better options. If you're just looking for cute food and don't care how it tastes, you'll be happy with this.

Yelp
We ordered 5 donuts through grub hub yesterday morning and they were most Delicious hijacking I've ever had perpetrated on me! Worth every penny and can't wait for next time. The flavors were elegant and focused, What a wonderful take on a ubiquitous trend. I even love the packaging. Can wait to order again happy New year!!! Sara

Yelp
Unpopular opinion but I'm not a fan. The donuts were rather tasteless, only the frostings had any flavor. The "cake" consistency donuts were ok, but the fluffy donuts were so dry and a bit hard to get down. I try different donut shops most places that I visit and sadly this one didn't hit the mark.

Yelp
I've been wanting to go to blackbird for so long but the drive was an hour away but as soon as I got the opportunity to come here the other day I took it! I genuinely wish I came here so much sooner because these donuts are AMAZING. My girlfriend and I ended up getting four donuts and a cinnamon stack. We got bananas foster, key lime pie, blueberry pie, and pumpkin cheesecake! The pumpkin cheesecake was my favorite, but all the other donuts were super good too! They aren't huge donuts so that means you can just try more at one time duh. I love the size of the donuts, and they really taste like what kinds of donuts they are! The guy working the counter was super nice. It's a pretty small shop, but you don't need a big space anyways! It was nice and quiet and there were only four people there when I went which just means more donuts for me. I hope they keep expanding because this place is awesome!

Yelp
Really delicious. The doughnuts were all such a great. I tried the everything doughnut which was not at all what I expected - it was savory and fluffy like a cronut and cut in half like a bagel and spread with a thick layer of cream cheese - it was bizarre and heavenly and I fear the cravings for this I have to look forward to in my future. I also tried the Boston cream pie and key lime pie both of which were good and the bananas foster which had a burnt caramel drizzle over the most insanely delicious banana frosting I have ever tasted. The burnt caramel drizzle was delicious but overall just a tad too bitter for the donut - it threw the balance off and the whole was somehow less than the sum of its parts, until I started dipping bites into the leftover puddle of custard filling that had oozed out from the Boston cream donut anyway, then it became the most wonderful balance. It may even be worth spending $6 to buy both to relive that experience.

Yelp
Please make more vegan donuts! You always run out and that makes the neighborhood vegans hangry.

Dolla D.

Yelp
I was excited to try Blackbird Donuts for the first time this morning. I am not impressed. They are too heavy and doughy. The flavors are not strong enough to cover the flavor of the dough. I had a old fashioned vanilla and the boston creme. The cream filling had no sweetness whatsoever. Way too much hype for mediocre donuts. A little bakery in Bernardston Massachusetts made a lemon brioche donut that was so much more worthy than these.

Maddy R.

Yelp
Heard about them on BPR news quiz. I used maps because I wouldn't have found it without. Worth the search !!

Tom S.

Yelp
waited a half hour for 2 doughnuts then get to work yup wrong doughnut they charged me for not going back .

Madeline K.

Yelp
Since Blackbird opened in Brighton it has become our new weekend tradition of walking over for a donut and coffee! So happy they are in the neighborhood.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Don't believe the lies, their donuts are terrible! I still get excited when I go because it says doughnuts above the door but I'm always disappointed. Nice type font though.

Dustin R.

Yelp
For gourmet donuts I keep getting disappointed by this place. Really wanted to like the everything donut, but it just left me feeling let down. Overall, they get the job done, but compared to something similar like Union Square donuts, Union Square blows them away.

Jeong Ah K.

Yelp
I love donuts but the service is terrible. I pre ordered my donuts 30 minutes before I got there. But they put me in line for 30 minutes and when I asked my pre ordered donuts, they did not check that until then and no preparation at all. Why do they make preorder system ? Which is not working for me.

Jill B.

Yelp
The Boston Cream donut was a spiritual experience! It was my first visit to Blackbird, after hearing about them for years, so you could say I had high expectations. I was not a bit disappointed. Love the off-the-beaten-path location. I'm sure droves of donut lovers will find it, even though it's tucked away. I know I will definitely be back. Welcome to the neighborhood, Blackbird!

Alexa B.

Yelp
Great service, the women working was very pleasant. We tried the orange cranberry fritter and the sticky bun, both were very sweet and sugary. It personally turned me off. But we also got the lemon poppyseed and blackbird which were better. The Blackbird donut was scrumptious. Cold brew iced coffee was also very good. Worth a try but nothing to rave about.

Christen B.

Yelp
The doughnuts are decent but I came here at 9 am on a Saturday morning and half of the flavors were sold out already. They didn't even have any Boston Creme (I mean, come on it's only one of the most popular doughnuts ever made). I thought this was supposed to be the big new production facility but apparently they cook the doughnuts there, then send most of them out to be sold at other locations. If you want to try them I wouldn't bother with the Brighton shop unless you plan to go super early in the morning. Was a wasted trip for me.

John M.

Yelp
Wow. I am not usually a big donut person but after eating at Blackbird , I might be coming back on a weekly basis. Located right near the Stop n Shop in the Boston Landing area is Blackbird Donuts tucked away on a small street. The facility is not large enough to eat in but this did not matter. I quickly ordered three donuts, a blackbird, original chocolate and strawberry honey. The chocolate and vanilla donuts were "cake donuts" and were smaller but words cannot describe how good these pastries are. They literally melt in your mouth and are so rich that you cant stop eating them. Along with a coffee, this is a breakfast dream. The strawberry honey was not a "cake donut" but still very good and flavorful. I will say this but the vanilla and chocolate donuts I had from here are the best donuts I have ever had. I'm excited to try more of their donuts that were sold out and I was told they will also have seasonal donuts depending on the year and time. 100% recommend and they even have cold brew coffee on tap!
