Stopped into Blackbird Doughnuts on Thursday morning for coffee and treats. Everything was fine, but with a weird location and higher prices, I don't see myself returning.
Quality: Blackbird Doughnuts was a perfectly fine spot for a coffee and some doughnuts. They have limited drink options, but I was glad they served up a solid Cold Brew. It is hard not to order a few doughnuts once you see them on display. The display does not have the prices though, which were quite high and I don't think worth it. I ordered the Cider Minis, Vanilla Glazed, Pumpkin Cheesecake Bismarck, and Blackberry Cobbler. The Vanilla Glazed was my favorite of the bunch, but they were all a lot more dense than I expected.
Quantity: Standard sizes for both coffee and doughnuts.
Value: $3.50 for the Cold Brew. $3.50-$4 for the various Doughnuts.
Ambiance: The Blackbird Doughnuts in Brighton has a very strange location. It sits behind a warehouse that is organized a bit like a strip mall. I had to walk around the entire building before reaching the small storefront. Inside it is a very simple space, but one with a large window into the operation in the back. No tables or chairs means everything is to-go.
Crowd: I was the only customer on Thursday morning. It is hard to imagine this is ever a busy location.
Service: It seemed like new staff who struggled a bit with my order. However, they were extremely sweet and quick to apologize.
Parking: Plenty of parking in the weird private lot behind the warehouse building.
