"A casual Chinese bistro with a modern edge, Blackbrick serves up punk rock energy and inventive plates like fried chicken dumplings, sweet soy wings, and loaded fried rice that is far too flavorful to be confused for a side." - Dara Smith, Olee Fowler

"This Midtown restaurant has some tasty fusion dumplings and non-traditional options, like fried chicken dumplings, Key West shrimp and scallop dumplings, and pork cheek pot stickers. Dumplings here range from $7-9 for an order of three, so this isn’t one of those dim sum meals where you can load up the table with a small mountain of dumplings without having to deal with a huge tab, but there are other entrees to help fill you up - like the General Tso gator and mapo tofu." - Ryan Pfeffer

We were served by Valentine, who truly dedicated his time to offer a great service and honest recommendationS. The restaurant decor is cool. Seating is a bit uncomfortable and cramped but the quality of the food put that thought behind. We had dumplings which were as close as your can get to The original quality. The hand roll were great in flavor but the dough was too thick and filling. Some side sauces were great in flavor and well chosen. Kale side vegetables had a defined flavor as well. The shrimp and peppers tested excellent, again i would reduce the battering a bit to make it lighter but the flavor was there. I couldn't pair a wine but Valentine assured the selection was good. Beers were varied. We tried a special tequila which We enjoyed. Was a great dinner.

Overall good meal. It is located in the heart of midtown, and has outdoor seating available. They have great cocktails with a daily rotating menu and a narrowed menu that specialized on a true Chinese experience. My favorite dishes were the general tso chicken, the chicken wings and bok choy.

This is fusion Asian food. Not very true to Asian flavours and the hand made noodles, the main reason I have it a shot to begin with, were served dry (no broth). My dish was spicier than other dishes that were marked as "spicy". Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall service was slow.

Go to Tap 42 instead!!!! My food was bad the service was bad. We order our dinner and we're encouraged by the waiter Juan L. to order an appetizer since it would be about "25 minutes" before our order would come out. So we ordered some eggrolls, before we could start the eggrolls my dinner was brought to the table. My friends food was not, I asked what happened to "25 minutes", he replied the cook is faster than the others. 10-12 minutes later, my friends food was still not brought out. At one point the waiter asked "Are you done yet?" Please do not go here.

Really enjoyed this place. They were the first restaurant I enjoyed a dining experience at during the 50% capacity restrictions. The dining room was really cool being able to see into the kitchen area and it felt like an upscale but relaxed place. I don't know of that makes much sense, but you could tell the food was going to be good. The serving sizes are very generous and you could even share a dish between two people if you can express that amount of will power after first tastes. If you like spicy I highly recommend the Mala Chicken.

We find this restaurant after I have search foursquare app on the phone to find out where we can eat a good Chinese food after the visiting of Miami Children's Museum. Interior is kind of interesting, the prices a big high I thinks but the food is tasty. We have tried: steamed shrimp & scallop dim sum (portion has 3 pieces) - really tasty dish; steamed chicken sui mei - kind of weird dish don't really like it; pork cheek pan fried dumplings - ok dish kinda like it; pan fried pork bao bun - mouthwatering dish; halapenjo beef - one of the best I have ever tried, really recommend it. Definitely will be back here again.

Black Brick Midtown Chinese Restaurant, Miami, is not only ridiculously EXPENSIVE, especially for what they give you, but, the food is AWFUL!!! It is an ABSOLUTE waste of time if you want good Chinese food; I DO NOT recommend it (save your money and time). Besides, the chef (or cook on duty) is arrogant and ill-tempered. On a positive note: the waitress was friendly and polite; it is only because of her cordiality that I even rate this restaurant because it, otherwise, wouldn't even get ONE STAR. My hat's off to the waitress who made the night at least salvageable.
