The 23 Best Restaurants In Covent Garden - London - The Infatuation

"If you’ve been to the original Blacklock in Soho, you already know that it’s somewhere you can rely on for crowd-pleasing steaks. The Covent Garden location is like Blacklock grew up, got really into tan leather, and started confidently toying around with Whole Foods ingredients. The delightfully charred steak sandwich and all-in meat fest, with beef, pork, and lamb chops, remains. You’ll also want the burger and the classic beef dripping chips on your table. Go for a meat-filled date night, or for a fillet steak and Old Fashioned before a show." - sinead cranna, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager

Blacklock Covent Garden - Review - Covent Garden - London - The Infatuation

"If you’ve ever been to the original Blacklock in Soho, you already know that it’s one of the best restaurants in London for a quality steak alongside some quality cocktail fun. The Covent Garden location is kind of like Blacklock grew up, got really into tan leather, and started confidently toying around with Whole Foods ingredients. The delightfully charred steak sandwich and all-in meat fest, with beef, pork, and lamb chops, remains. Plus the once worst-kept-secret burger is now firmly on the menu, and you definitely want that on your table alongside the classic beef dripping chips. Thanks to the low-lighting basement feel and selection of steak-ready reds, it’s perfect for a glam date night, or for a fillet and old fashioned one-two punch before a show. photo credit: @haydonperrior" - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Blacklock Steak Restaurant Brings London Sunday Roast to Covent Garden | Eater London

"An esteemed London chophouse celebrated for one of the city’s best Sunday roasts is opening a seven-days-a-week restaurant in Theatreland at 16a Bedford Street, Covent Garden, in February 2022. The new site will stick to the group’s formula of keenly priced chops and steaks built on a long-term supply relationship with Cornwall butcher Philip Warren, large-format retro desserts (notably ice cream sundaes), tableside cocktails, and crowd-pleasing steak sandwiches and burgers. Backed by a growing estate of three London venues and led by founder Gordon Ker, the opening is pitched as both a growth opportunity for staff and a chance to introduce new dishes, while the business pursues B Corp certification and emphasizes regenerative agriculture and a whole-animal approach to minimize waste and keep prices competitive." - James Hansen

Blacklock Steakhouse and Sunday Roast Specialist Will Open in Covent Garden | Eater London

"A celebrated London steakhouse and Sunday-roast specialist preparing to open a fourth Covent Garden site, with a planning application to refurbish a townhouse at 3 Henrietta Street. Its Eastcheap and Shoreditch outposts have mirrored the Soho original’s success by leaning on a close relationship with Cornish butcher Warren’s and a concise, precisely executed menu focused on chops, steaks and classic sides. The new location is expected to continue that focused cooking ethos while entering a busy restaurant strip that will include a major new entrant planned for the same street." - James Hansen

What a brilliant couple of meals! My dad and I came here for my birthday dinner and had such a great night – the 850g porterhouse was spot on (juicy, tender, perfectly cooked), we tried all the draught beers (the Blacklock Session Pale was easily our favourite with those mango and citrus notes), demolished three portions of pigs in blankets, plus crispy fries, fresh side salad, espresso martinis, white chocolate cheesecake with seasonal berries, and the recommended Pedro Ximénez Toro Albalá digestive. Everything was delicious. We loved it so much that we came back the following week for the Sunday roast and it was also good – tender meats, crispy duck fat roasties, huge Yorkshires, plenty of veg, and loads of that amazing gravy. Proper comforting Sunday feast. Service was friendly and relaxed, and big thanks to the manager Naovah for making us feel so welcome. We left stuffed and happy, and we’re definitely coming back again soon!

Bone Marrow sauce is absolutely a highlight and a must to order! Cheesecake and cocktail are delicious too. Beef ribs are of good value, we ordered 700g porterhouse steak to share among 2 of us, overall we’re very full and happy :)

What a great restaurant! Ordered the mixed grill combo which consisted of pork, lamb and beef. Included was a trio of canapés and chips cooked in beef tallow. Delicious and good value. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Looking fwd to trying their other meats on my next visit to London.

I want to highlight the great customer service me and my friends received from James yesterday. He was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs and for that he deserves praise. The food was also delicious and due to there being a fire alarm the manager knocked off the drinks on our bill which we were grateful for. We would definitely come back for both the food and service.

Just had a superb lunch with my Brother and Nephew at Blacklock, we had the sharing plate with delicious tender pork chops, lamb chops and steak Tips with super chips, Gravy and green sauce, washed down with a couple of bottles of a really good quality Argentinian Malbec, little amuse bouce to start. The service was fantastic, it made our lunch even more enjoyable, Uyime was seriously professional very friendly and bubbly, Tom the head waiter was extremely passionate, extremely friendly and knowledgeable the white chocolate cheesecake very decadent, price for the quality was incredibly good value, atmosphere buzzing and very pleasant, all the staff were very friendly and happy, great place would highly recommend!

Just brilliant! Tasty steaks and Sunday roast served quickly and with sauces that truly add to the flavour rather than only add fat to the dish. Definitely the best mint sauce I have ever had. The service was amazing. I would recommend the All In Sunday roast with a Beefy Mary. I love it when a restaurant does what it should right (serve great food) without pretentiousness. The apple crumble and white chocolate cheesecake were excellent conclusions to a lovely roast. The atmosphere could be a bit less noisy, but to be fair, that is just my preference and some people might consider that good vibes of a busy restaurant.

Booked a month in advanced had so much excitement to come, but got a very awkward table, not that pleasant and disappointing since this was a family dinner. Would recommend asking in advance for specific table. Food was okay: got the all-in roast but beef was old and gamey, and gravy was salty, ruining the entire pallet. Food also came warm, but at least hot free refillable gravy was available on request. Portion sizes were good, we were super full. Disappointing since I’ve seen so many good reviews, perhaps ours was a one off. We also came 12pm, so quite confused about the mid quality. Yannick looked after us amazingly, if you ever come to this specific branch, ask for a Yannick and he will make your experience x10 better. Without his smile and kindness, this review could have been worse. Other staff are just mid, as if they’re there just for work. So definitely ask for a Yannick, this branch is very lucky to have him!

The proper English Sunday roast with outstanding gravy and succulent cut of meat! Outstanding Yorkshire pudding, veggies and roast potatoes so crispy outside and creamy soft on the inside! A must visit! A definite recommendation is to have it with their local craft beer.
