Haven't been to Blackstone in a long time, several years ago. Amazing friends chose Blackstone and while it wouldn't have been my first choice, I put on a smile.
My steak 'measuring stick' is Peter Lugers, and I was just there last night, so I was properly tuned to give Blackstone an objective comparison. I have to say, the porterhouse was better. It was aged better, much less moisture, with much stronger savory and glutamine flavor. Add that flavor to the creamy, oily fatty acids coating your mouth, and you're going to eat this steak even if you didn't want any. The cut was thicker, charred & seasoned, and seemed more generous, with stellar marbling.
Round out the menu with sushi, extensive starters & sides to choose from, and a raw bar, in a huge beautiful dining room - I have to say Blackstone is an amazing steakhouse.
Unfortunately service had a slip at the end of the meal. Our table of eight was ignored during the entire desert service when things were needed and we wanted to leave to watch the Super Bowl. Our server was gone, they sent in the closer to finish desert, and he fumbled in the fourth quarter. The manager was tapped in, by me, and he sent whoever the server was, and he acknowledged the situation and at least took care of the coffees (which is what we needed help with).
