The 24 Best Cheap Eats In London

"Blankita is a bustling hub on the corner of Seven Sisters serving home-cooked Colombian food that’s as warming in winter as it is satisfying in summer. The beef tongue is covered in a fruity and mildly spiced yellow sauce, and slowly cooked with stodgy and starchy potatoes. The star, though, is the meat. A careless whisper could break down the pink strands and a mouthful alongside rice, plantain, and a dollop of sharp red chilli salsa will have you humming with happiness." - jake missing, daisy meager, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

The Best-Value Cheap Restaurants In North London

"It’s very hard to spend more than £15 at Blankita and, if you do, you’re certainly going to be going home with plenty of frijoles for later. The Colombian cafe on the corner of Seven Sisters Market has a friendly, community feel about it as solo workers or local families order at the counter and then take a seat before enjoying satisfying grilled or fried meats (and some fish). A plate of juicy chorizo with rice and plantain costs a tenner, or go for a soup in the winter." - jake missing, sinead cranna, daisy meager

The Best £10 Meals In London - London - The Infatuation

"Any main meal  Blankita’s faintly makeshift-looking structure on the corner of Seven Sisters Market is almost always full of hunched shoulders and satisfied bellies. The homely Colombian spot serves empanadas, escalope, stews, and more—but most often we find ourselves cutting into gently cooked meat with rice and plantain, with frijoles on the side for good measure." - Jake Oliver, Rianne Shlebak

10 Restaurants That Feel Outdoors For When You’re Not Outdoorsy - London - The Infatuation

"One suspects that a particularly violent storm could threaten Blankita’s DIY conservatory on Seven Sisters road, but that’s part of the charm of this homely Colombian spot. Sun, shade, and steaks are all on the menu, and having a freshly made juice and an empanada at Blankita is the perfect tonic to a day that’s almost too nice. Friends and family are pretty much always leaning back in their makeshift fold-out table and chair setup. When it comes to catching a breather and something home-cooked and great-value off the grill, there are few places we’d rather do it." - Rianne Shlebak, Jake Oliver, Sinead Cranna

Blankita Review - Tottenham - London - The Infatuation

"Blankita is a bustling hub on the corner of Seven Sisters serving home-cooked Colombian food that’s as warming in winter as it is satisfying in summer. Stews, soups, frijoles, and empanadas are all on the menu and it’s virtually impossible to leave the easygoing indoor-outdoor setup without lazily rubbing your stomach. Grilled steak or pork with rice and plantain is a standard, but beef tongue is one of the standout dishes. Blankita’s version is covered in a fruity and mildly spiced yellow sauce, slowly cooked with stodgy and starchy potatoes, and sweet onions in there as well. The star, though, is the meat. A careless whisper could break the pink strands down and a mouthful alongside rice, plantain, and a dollop of Blankita’s sharp red chilli salsa will have you humming with happiness." - Jake Missing

The great food keeps me coming back here often! I usually get the chicharron combo meal deal which is perfect! I love the sanchocho, the lentil soup, the beans soup and the sugar cane drink. The food is so filling and for a great price. Customer service is nice and warm. They always explain all the dishes to me if I don't know what it is.

Absolute delight! We just passed by this restaurant on a Sunday morning with an empty belly with little expectations. They have set menus. One drink one drink and one main. The portions are massive. Like really massive. The taste is an absolute delight. So gooooood. Soups are homey. Rice, a side of salad and massive succulent meat. We ordered BBQ ribs and I think pork cutlet. Can't recommend it enough. They have some Colombian coffee, sugar cane juice and empanada 🥟. All really good freshly made. I secretly want this sort of restaurant to not blow up on tiktok to keep its family atmosphere.

Excellent bandeja paisa! Portions are really big, it's got a very nice local vibe that feels like you're eating on the street and not inside a restaurant which is nice. Good spot for people watching out the window. Very reasonable prices (£12 for 2 courses and a drink)

Best Colombian I’ve ever tasted, bean soup (Frijoles) was amazing with hearty potatoes, plantain and beans, a sprinkle of coriander and the red spicy sauce they brought out with it. Beef empanada was crunchy on the outside with tasty beef and potato filling inside. Very cheap as well - 1.50 for empanadas and 2 for soup. Will definitely come back again for the full meal!
