Google
Made our annual first stop on Saint Patrick’s Day to The Blarney Stone. We were greeted by their amazing bartenders who made us feel welcomed right away. The bathrooms were clean and our bloody Mary’s were outstanding. There is a reason why this is our first stop every year we come in for the parade. This place is great!!

Google
Great Food, Great friendly service ! Our server Zin was fantastic! Super friendly, very assertive and made great recommendations! Clean bathrooms! I wish I took a picture of our delicious Blarney Burgers but I couldn’t stop eating it ! It was nice to see the manager waking around ! If your going to MSG stop by a bite to eat and a drink !

Google
Irish pub across 31st St from Madison Square Garden, quiet Monday lunch time. Food was tasty and filling, Guinness was served at the proper temperature (not ice cold), service was very good. A good stop between trains

Google
Over pricing happy hour drinks. Don’t recommend

Vel D.

Yelp
The service was excellent! Friendly bar and wait staff. It's great to have a fun conversation while having a perfect, cold beer. The food was delicious. You never go wrong with a burger or my personal favorite, corned beef dinner. Flavorful and tasty! Blarney Stone is across the street from New York Pennsylvania (Penn) Station. Perfect spot to go before and/or after an event from Madison Square Garden! Cheers!

Yelp
Great bartenders. Decent food. Wonderful place to watch any sporting event in this neighborhood.

Tomas B.

Yelp
Great location just outside MSG chase entrance and A perfect place to pregame for a rangers game or a concert. Is typical old style bar and grill Drinks are reasonably priced considering the location and the food was actually pretty good with the sliders being outstanding. Service was great and they have all the football games on while we were getting ready for the hockey game at night. Definitely a place for MSG pregame!

Daniel Y.

Yelp
A clean Irish pub across the street from Penn station. Walked by and peeked in and said this will do. So we just wanted a quick bite to kill a little time before the train showed up. Plenty wide screens around the the bar and the other side of the tables. Settled in for a Rueben sandwich and fries. The Rueben was good and the fries came out hot and crispy. It was a good choice.

Lisa S.

Yelp
I have always stuck to the old staple Blarney Burger which is so flavorful. But being a Friday in lent switched it up for the homemade clam chowder which was full of clams and potato with a great flavor. The Crab Cake sandwich was huge and served on a buttered roll. On my next trip it's gonna be hard to decide if I wanna go back to the burger or stick with the crabcake.

Yelp
A sat at the bar and ordered a beer and the $5 happy hour wings . The wings were spot on . The blue cheese is good. You get 5 wings . So it's not a bad price! The service was a bit slow . There are 2 bartenders for a long bar so I had to be patient. I gave her my credit card but I was going to pay cash at the end of the night! Yes it's by the Garden so I will be a bit expensive here . Inside is very long and wide for groups here be a night at the Garden . But expect to wait for service here .

Yelp
2nd time I've dragged myself into this spot.......No regrets! NativeNew Yorker(Sadly I'm in DC now ‍‍‍ Look it's soooooo close to Penn Station That being said it still has a neighborhood bar feel& Katie sealed the deal! She was super sweet & so accommodating! This is what's missing from the service industry! Come see her, immediately She rocks!! I felt like I knew her/she knew me& we go man just do what we do!! Katie

Yelp
You crazy liberal east coast elite SOBs think you can hide your overpriced drinks behind a flashy smash-your-drinks gimmick? Ha! Not so much. When I merely ask for a 10 sq. ft. grazing pasture for the cattle with whom I got tricked into betrothing, I get scoffed at. Anything beats your bland, unseasoned chicken - I almost bent down to eat that bunk weed. If I wanted honky flavored food I would've went to Idaho. Instead I paid for Habib to drive me to a dimly lit, sticky, and disgusting excuse for an establishment. My waitress ignored me like I was the one with the kid sitting at the end of the bar, no dad in sight. Hope you're getting payments from him honey because you won't be getting a tip from me.

Yelp
1st time back to blarney since 2001. Very sad to see such a great institution spiral downward. Would not recommend if you're a die hard blarney stone fan

Aikeem V.

Yelp
Had a couple beers and fish and chips. Which were good. Service was great, nice little sports bar you can get some food and beer. Drinks are reasonable. I came with 4 people with multiple drinks and food and the bill was reasonable.

Teresa L.

Yelp
Great location super close to Penn that is open till 4am...so if you miss your train back to the island like I did at least you had a warm, comfortable place to catch a good drink and kill some time in comfort. Its everything you'd expect from an Irish pub. Good service with friendly faces willing to serve it up even though they would have loved to close early. ;)

Jon M.

Yelp
I've lived a few blocks away for 15 years and just went in for the first time. Sat at the bar with a friend after eating a few special brownies. Sports on the tv. Good beer selection on tap. The chicken fingers are excellent. The wings hit the spot. Mozz sticks I'd skip. The guy sitting next to me showed me how to play Quick Draw at the bar. I won $10. And the bartenders are awesome. I'll be back

Vivek D.

Yelp
I mean it's an okay place. Drinks aren't terribly expensive. I was looking for a place that had the Knicks game on and it did. There just weren't many people here (prolly because the Knicks stink, but even then....). I guess it's really a place to kill some time before heading for the next train at Penn. It does the job I guess. Nothing bad, nothing great.

Pauline B.

Yelp
Worst corned beef sandwich ever. Not anything like the old Barney stone.. got home and very small tasteless picece of dry corn beef..closed your kitchen, if that's what you are cooking..very very sad

Joseph W.

Yelp
Just wanted to shout out the management and staff at Blarney Stone for their lost-and-found policy. My niece lost her phone on Friday and we couldn't figure out where she lost it. Battery was dead, so we couldn't even call it. It turns out that she had dropped it at Blarney Stone. The staff at Blarney S found it, and charged the battery up! When we tried calling it on Sunday, a Blarney Stone employee picked the call up and explained that they would keep the phone safely for us to come pick up. Thank you, Blarney Stone!!

Cori C.

Yelp
Sometimes you need a bar that's super close to Penn Station. In that case, this is probably your best bet. Service is slow, but friendly. Drinks are cheap. During the week it's reasonably easy to find a table. The crowd skews office guys over tourists. In this area, that's all you need to be the best bar.

Pasquale R.

Yelp
Place was depressing and it smelt inside. Bathrooms were gross and tiny. We had one shot and then left. Bartender was friendly though. In and out in 7mins. Wouldn't venture back here for anything including a drink...pass.

Joe K.

Yelp
My Dad (RIP) owned this place in the 70's. Lot of good memories. Used to take the D train from Brooklyn to go to Rangers game when customers would give my brother John tickets.

Matthew B.

Yelp
Great service and great location if you are training into nyc. Had a great experience thursday night, not sure what the bartender's name is but she was terrific, even though the place was jacked she managed to keep up with the craziness.

Sharleen C.

Yelp
If you are looking for a good bar in New York, GO HERE!! What a fabulous time we had! We had so much fun here we went EVERYNIGHT we were in the city! Bartenders were so kind, even if I didn't like my drink they changed it out and that was only because I like a certain Grapefruit juice :) ( Not there fault at all ) and had no attitudes about it. We got to play all our jams and everyone danced and sang right along. We were all friends here even not knowing anyone. We also seen Mariah Carey, so than after Madison square garden we again popped right over to Blarney's after the concert! Great location!! They made us feel comfortable and we even got to meet Joe the owner. He was just as kind and inviting and recommended his tips in the big city. Definitely one day we will be back! Thank you, Joe for all your kindness! Your bar was a blast and thanks for treating us visitors like your friends in the big city!

Tony P.

Yelp
Quick service and good vibes! We came in randomly because it was pouring outside. We got a Stella and Guiness on tap here and it was solid. The bartender was friendly and the crowd gave good vibes.

Ed W.

Yelp
This is a good pub. The staff is friendly and the food is about what you would expect for a pub. Its proximity to Penn Station makes it a good spot to meet people coming into town or to grab a pint and bite before heading out of town. The place can get very crowded at happy hour; especially on Fridays.

Jonathan R.

Yelp
Good location for a pregame/pre concert at msg Food is ok, typical bar fare Cocktails would be better if they had a better soda mix. Service good, waitresses are friendly and attractive Prices are reasonable given the location

Daniel G.

Yelp
I've been going to this bar for years... Before the pandemic I used to wait at the bar for my train at Penn station and I've always loved this institution. I was looking for a place to have some drinks and just relax and have some french fries and we came across the absolute best bartender in Midtown, Katie, and she was awesome. The service was impeccable and she treated us like family and I think every individual who comes across her path should tip 30%. Awesome awesome awesome... That's all I can say. What a great old school bar! Katie, my sister and my fiancé love you!

Yelp
I dined here Tuesday and my waitress was Kat! What a PHENOMENAL girl she is. She made me feel right at home the very moment we sat down. She well versed in her menu and beverage knowledge. She has such a great personality and I recommend her to anyone who's ever in NYC on 8th Avenue to ask for her to be your server. We came in around 5:30 and the restaurant was packed it look like there is no servers working. Then you saw this one girl running around taking care of each and every single table. From that moment on I knew she was that places only ray of hope. We sat down and for as busy she was... She was extremely attentive to us. I had the Pan Seared Rosemary Chicken and she suggested I pair it with a Stella. Honestly the only reason this review is 5 stars is because of Kat. I will undoubtedly follow her wherever she is from this point forward. I've never had such a great time with a server. Kudos to Kat. Keep her and give her a promotion or raise or whatever. She definitely deserves it!

Yelp
Oddly enough I was not coming here on the night that I ended up in this space but it was pouring rain and the spot I wanted to visit appeared to have closed up. Having been to this Blarney Stone in the past and with some experience in the past I suggested it and we went in. It was moderately crowded with the sports crowd prepping their game time at the nearby MSG. We secured a table towards the back and hoped to get some rapid service since we were both exhausted and hungry/thirsty. I opted for a pint of Stella Artois and my buddy a Guinness. Not sure what cocktail our other friend grabbed at this time. I have to say that it seemed to take a little longer than one would expect for a round of drinks but the bar was busy and it appears as though the main bartender is also fixing the drinks for the waitstaff. Perhaps on busy nights there should be an additional body behind the bar to take care of the diners at the tables. For dinner I went with a Sheperds Pie while my other friends had a chicken dish and a burger. Having had Sheperds Pie on numerous times around the city I was not really sure what I was eating here as it seemed to be a SP but also had a side of gravy in a cup for it and was covered with melted cheese. Now I have never seen this before and while I don't really like to complain, this also didn't taste all that right to me. I think this recipe needs to be reviewed and return to a more conventional form. My friend felt that his dish of chicken tenders was very tough and described it as eating pieces of rubber. I guess that they were overcooked or done in a microwave in order to get them out. Since we were never visited again to ask if a second drink was desired we bypassed that idea and just aimed at getting the check. This also seemed to be a time killer so the bottom line is that it will be a bit of a while before I drop in here again. There are better options in the immediate vicinity and while I have enjoyed this space in the past the last couple of times have not been all that great and my friend who I often do conventions with has said next time anywhere else. Oh well.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this place. I have never ventured as far as to explore their food. I have tried several beers on tap and some of their mixed drinks. I have hung out in the main bar area and also in their upstairs alcove for events. Overall, it is a bar suitable for mingling with friends or acquaintances. The staff is a varied bunch of folks ranging from overly friendly to tolerant. The last Night I was there, the main bar was quite crowded as an MSG event had just let out. We spent most of our time in the upstairs area for a listening party/live performance. The event was fun and the upstairs even had a billiards table. The bar was quite sparse, with mostly whiskeys, cognacs, beers and wines on display. Not certain if more options were available but it may just have been a result of the event. Bathrooms were very clean and well stocked. I would return to get a drink or if ending the night near the area. Nothing to boast about here, but it gets the job done. Do check out the side entrance to head upstairs-- it is an unmarked entrance manned by separate security.

Desiree D.

Yelp
Gross food. not many choices and over priced for what it is. My friends calamari seemed over cooked and rubbery, we couldnt eat it--had to send it back. Onion rings were nothign to rave about. Seems like 90% of the crap is frozen. Oh and service at a table is slow. If youre coming for drinks, especially right before a concert--id stop here odds are you wont spend as much as you would at a venue. However theres a decent selection of beer but nothing that really got my attention.

Malcolm R.

Yelp
Have you watched the shows cheers? If so, that's how I feel when I come here. If you haven't, what that means is that, you will see your regulars here, and your bartenders will make you feel you're welcome. Especially, Victoria (ask for her)! Kudos to staff here. Everyone is amazing here.

Giulia A.

Yelp
We got there on a monday night, I want craving for a shepherds pie and here I found a good one! The staff is very pleasant, the girl at the counter was very nice and fast, always there to get you what you want! We had BBQ wings that were delicious, we literally lick our fingers after finished them! The shepherds pie was very good too, maybe a little salty but sooo tasty! The mashed potatoes were perfectly baked with melted cheese on it that give that something more!! Good selection of beer too, we had a goose island and a yuengling. We'll be back for sure!

Kristine M.

Yelp
This is an okay place to stop in near Penn Station. They do have $5 Frozen drinks which was just fine with me. These are margaritas and pina coladas and they are okay. Where I went wrong was ordering the salmon burger. I wish I had a picture to add but this is one place I would recommend passing on that option. It's very clear it's a frozen patty, heated up and slapped on a bun. It's a thin patty on an oversized bun served with lettuce and tomato, and for me...a different cheese than what was listed on the menu. Our waitress Maria was great which helped to boost the rating. One more thing, the super hot habanero bbq sauce is actually kind of hot. So if you're thinking it may not be that bad or if you're a spice and heat lover, ask for some on the side to see if this hits the spot!

Richard L.

Yelp
We fell on this spot as we was headed to the Kevin heart show at Madison square garden was lucky enough to find a spot two blocks away and right in front of this bar We ordered appetizers that were tasty and beer and some some shots to put us in a good mood as we were headed to the show Cool juke box in the place it was a pleasant surprise that there wasn't a tourist feeling to the place even though it was so close to the garden We'll be stoping by again the next time we are in the area

Hawa F.

Yelp
This review is just based on the bar area at around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. 2 grown ups enter a bar, order a drink and ask for directions. The bartender was great (didn't catch her name). Ordered a beer and a bloody. Bloody was perfect. I forgot to ask for the level of spicy but it came out pretty damn hot (which if you don't like it spicy I guess you should indicate that). She was very helpful when assisting us out of towners to catch the correct subway train. Would Luke to try some of the grub next time

Spencer W.

Yelp
This place is absolutely clueless as to what the word service means. Waited several minutes at an empty bar for the bartender to decide to come back to the bar when she was talking to the manager 20 feet away. I know he was the manager because he was wearing a hat that said so. Both of them saw me waiting there. Bartender finally approaches and takes my 3 drink order. Took her 10 minutes to make a cosmopolitan. She told me to go sit down and she'll bring it over. After the first few minutes of me waiting for my drink, I sit down. I come back after a few more minutes as I think she's finished with my order. She wasn't. She had only finished the first drink. The manager then comes over for which I thought was to just tell her to hurry up. "Thank goodness" I thought. I was wrong, it was to start chatting with her. Now she's making my second drink while distracted talking to the manager. Nearly 15 minutes to produce two cocktails, beer and a seltzer in a NEARLY empty bar! Person who ordered cosmo said it tasted like lighter fluid. The neighborhood that this bar is situated in is like a war zone. Drunk homeless vagrants wander in and out of this place, and they are ready to bug you as soon as you walk out to ask you for money. While waiting for a cab I was accosted three times. I got better service from the homeless people outside than I did from this bar. I don't know which place the 5 star reviews on here are for, but it ain't THIS place. You'll be sorry if you come here.

Brandon B.

Yelp
Close to the hotel and open late to hang out and get shit done since nothing else around exists like a late night coffee shop and it is relatively quiet. The staff was super friendly though they didn't seem to know as much what was on the menu at first. The food was super fatty and good for bar food but not fancy in any sense, but great comfort food. I had a couple Guinness's and they were a bit warm and not served in the traditional glass. Nice quiet place if there isn't an event nearby.

Jean Paule C.

Yelp
Went here with my friend to do paint nite. Lady bartender was nice and accommodating. I ordered steak and eggs for brunch. The paint session was upstairs so she had it delivered up there of course. Well-cooked and delicious! Good price too! Will come back.

Laurie M.

Yelp
We stopped in for a bite to eat before the Ranger game and I was pleasantly surprised. Although it was crowded we were sat immediately and our server was right there. No waiting! The food was your typical pub food but it was delicious. We will definitely go back the next time we are heading to MSG.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Katie is the best! She is so very attentive and friendly. She was very efficient and quick with our orders. We were very happy with Katie's service! We will be back again to visit because of her.

Andrew D.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The food is great! The Bartender Shirley is great! Definitely a down home place. Best place I've visited in New York so far.

Alyvia P.

Yelp
This was our first stop on St. Patrick's day. The bar was PACKED downstairs. I can't really say much for the lower level because we went straight upstairs to the Macy's private party. It was $20 all you can drink/eat for about 3 hours. We missed the first hour. The drinks were strong, and there was plenty of room to move around, let alone breathe. It was nothing like the mess downstairs. The jalepeno poppers were the best part of the food, which seemed to be old and re-heated. They were fresh, but the wings were chewy, the meat pies were so bad I had to spit it out in a napkin, and the pigs in a blanket (althouth I hate them on a regular day) looked absolutely repulsive. I wouldn't go back for the food, but for a neighborhood bar, it did just fine. That's what people go to bars for right? Alcohol!

Christopher M.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The prices are good for a bar close to the garden. The tradition at this bar makes proper ranger fans feel right at home. They should have a slogan that says "if you're not in blue, this bar ain't for you". No Santa con, no devils fans, no anything but die hard rangers fans. Let's make '94 Great again. Many bars allow non fans to come in. This is the type of bar where if at least your socks aren't rangers, you're not allowed. Good food, good prices, good drinks, good Catholics, shitty devils and Santa con people coming around.

Heather S.

Yelp
Congratulations New York City Social Sports Club (NYCSSC) ... you finally got it right. Making the Blarney Stone the post-game (and occasionally the pre-game *wink*) party spot was one of the smartest moves ever made. A whole upstairs bar / area for sweaty ballers in their mid-twenties to hang out after a tough loss... wait, some people win games? Oh. Anyways, NYCSSC... BRILLIANT. Finally! A bar that can accommodate the masses of frat boys reliving their glory days playing beer pong. For sorority girls, an excuse to get drunk by way of flip cup and hook up with said frat boys. And for me... to drink beer with my teammates and make a new friend in the best bartender ever, Basil! Although my flag football games have relocated to the Lower East Side this season, and thus the post-game party sponsor has changed, Blarney Stone will now be my go-to spot for a happy hour drink when with my B&T friends who have to head out via Penn. That and I'm sure I will be by just to see Basil, whom everyone should tip extremely well.. because he's amazing. Thanks Blarney Stone for letting me close down this bar on Any Given Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday! ---- *Also, decent selection of beers on tap. Drink prices are reasonable despite the proximity to Penn Station. ** Clientele was a little interesting, but no one ever made me feel uncomfortable being there. *** PLENTY of seating.

Kate M.

Yelp
We came for a concert in MSG. They charge $4.00 for 2 drinks on the rocks. Have ever charge you for ice? It's the first time that it happened to me in The City. Please double check your bill...

Tatiana D.

Yelp
It really not an Irish pub, but cool bar. Staff was super nice and friendly. Juke box, so the music selection was pretty great tonight.

Esther A.

Yelp
This is nice decent bar to hang out have a drink or watch a game or chit chat with a friend. Top 40 music plays in the background. There is an upstairs to that caters to NYC Social Sports Club ( NYCSSC). I came here after with my flag-football game with my team . This bar is where all the league members from different sport teams come after a game. This is when the bar become lively upstairs around 9ish on week days. Upstairs has another bar with tables for flip cup and beer pong games. They also have a bean bag game where you try to toss it in the hole (Cornhole). That was a lot of fun. They also play music upstairs if you request it. It's a bar where you make the best of it and get white boy wasted on beer. Gotta love it.

Rhea Z.

Yelp
Not sure how I feel about this place. Came on a Saturday night for dinner, loved the fact the TVs were all over so we can watch the game. We were seated in the back and the menu was simple which I loved as well. My friend and I wanted to order appetizers, but our waitress had said they changed the oil so it'll take about 20 mins to heat up (at least we know that they're clean). Ordered a red bull/vodka and wow that was all vodka and I couldn't even finish or drink half of it. I ordered the Sirloin which came with Mash and broccoli. The Sirloin was delish, well done, juicy, a great size and hot when it arrived. My mash however was a bit on the cold side and it was a massive amount of mash. My friend had ordered the fajitas which she loved as well, but wasn't a big fan of the sauce. Dessert they only had the chocolate mousse for dessert which kinda sucked because people do love dessert! I didn't like the fact our waitress wasn't as attentive as she should be and it wasn't even busy, my friend and I had to keep calling her every time she passed by. She didn't check on us once on how our food was. She forgot about my friends fries. Also there was a guy walking around and I'm not sure if he was the manager, but he kept walking around back and forth to other staff members and laughing with em. Didn't look professional at all. Not sure if I'd be back, and if I did I'd probably stay in the front area by the bar.

Daryl H.

Yelp
I wanted to go to a sports bar to check out the World Cup games and this was where I went. They have enough TVs around so you don't miss anything. Don't expect to be wowed by their menu. The food is okay, in my opinion. Reminds me of food you'd get at a deli. I normally get either their turkey burger with onion rings or chicken fingers. This is a pub, but I can't comment on the alcohol since I'm a teetotaler. You can stop by here to check out a game, wait until your train is boarding at Penn Station or simply want to get a drink. The wait staff is friendly and it's a clean establishment. The restroom is kind of small, though. Just keep in mind that when there's a Knicks or Rangers game playing at Madison Square Garden, this place is packed and a good seat may be hard to get. I remember when Santa Con happened and this place was packed with drunken patrons in Santa outfits, as many bars were experiencing that day.

Ran M.

Yelp
Great place. Amazing bartenders. Love them. Manager is erratic and makes no sense in his requests. Overbearing and micromanaging the great bartenders. He's not good for business. Too foreboding and negative. Kills the great vibe.

Patrick W.

Yelp
Typical Irish Bar, good management, just be carful during game time, they reserve their tables for patrons who are dining, not just drinking.

Robert S.

Yelp
Chicken fingers are so good! Got a couple beers at a fair price. Will be back for or drinks and food again. Only complaint is the music was extremely loud.
