I love neighborhoods with a lot of cafes. There's something so cozy about seeing your neighbors relaxing, or caffeinating, or reading the paper, or whatever it is they choose to do in a cafe. So I was excited when I saw that Blackstock Rd was getting a new cafe.
Blighty Coffee is still figuring out what it is, exactly, but I already hope that it sticks around. I want to give this place five stars, eventually. On Saturdays, they were serving BBQ pulled pork and slaw for a little while. The food always looks fantastic, though I haven't tried it, yet. They serve Monmouth coffee, which makes it my new go-to neighborhood coffee stop.
The employees are all very nice. The space is AMAZING and much bigger than it looks from the outside. There's a back garden with a ping pong table, and plenty of space to socialize or to be alone with a book. I hope the neighborhood embraces this place as fully as it deserves.
The reason it's only getting four stars at the moment is because I ordered an iced coffee on a hot day and they were out of ice. Which is an odd thing to not have on hand, even if you are a coffee shop. No worries, though - I ordered an americano instead and it was still delicious.
