"Bangkok street fare. Chef Nittaya Parawong’s Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen has long been a popular spot in Summerlin. Block 9 Thai Street Eats, which is located about 15 minutes south, is a sort of edgier younger sister spot. The casual restaurant serves Bangkok-inspired street food including red, yellow, green, and panang curry, skewers, and stir-fried vegetables." - Krista Diamond
"Ahead of a scheduled “grand opening” on April 9, chef Nittaya Parawong has debuted her Bangkok-inspired Block 9 Thai Street Eats menu in south Summerlin. With all items priced at less than $12 and also available to pre-order online before picking up inside the industrial-style design restaurant, the menu serves Parawong’s casual spin on Thai street fare. Choices include “Urban Favorites” of grilled pork skewers, basil chicken, Thai barbecue pork, and the red, yellow, green, and panang beef “Street Curries.” “Wok fried noodles or rice” options include fried mussels, drunken noodles and pad Thai with side dishes of soup, fried tofu, beef jerky, garlic spare ribs and the “world famous spinach salad” found at her original restaurant, Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen. For dessert, coconut ice cream, $4 banana rolls, and another Nittaya specialty from her Secret Kitchen, bread pudding." - Bradley Martin
"Inspired by the street fare in her native city of Bangkok, chef Nittaya Parawong’s casual offshoot of local favorite Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen now has a “grand opening” date. Designed with a rustic and industrial interior, Block 9 Thai Street Eats will fill 2,012 square feet at the Retail Trails center, close to the corner of Town Center Drive and the 215 and will officially launch on Monday, April 9. It sits around the corner from the recently debuted Peet’s Coffee cafe. All the dishes at the counter-service concept are priced below $12 and can be pre-ordered online for easy pick-up. The handy feature also allows customers to view a photo of each item before placing an order. Among the choices, two specific favorites have brought over from her original restaurant, the $8 “world famous spinach salad,” and the $4 “Nittaya’s bread pudding.” They join choices such as fried mussels, pad Thai, panang beef, red, green, or yellow curry, Thai barbecue pork, basil chicken, and grilled pork skewers. Plus, Thai iced tea, hibiscus lemonade, and coconut ice cream or banana rolls for dessert. Opening hours have yet to be announced." - Bradley Martin
