Yelp
I really wanted to like this place.
I had always wanted to try Blossom in my 5 years of living in LA but never got around to it, until today, when we discovered Pho 87 was closed for emergency reasons. We headed over to Blossom since it was close by and were excited because it was situated such a great part of the Chinatown plaza. Our server was kind, and this is in no way a knock at his hospitality, but the restaurant was painfully short staffed.
When the food was delivered, we had to wait around 18 minutes for our pho sides (lime, mint, garnishes) and chilli oil, which is a long time considering you want to eat this soup fast before the heat escapes. The meat in my bowl was minuscule, with one sad little piece of tendon. I have to say it wasn't as flavorful as other restaurants. I don't think pho is one of Blossom's strong suites so if I were to ever come back it would be to try something else.
Pro's:
-Great breeze from the huge, open windows
-Gorgeous setting to be at
-Friendly server
Con's:
-Long waits, be prepared to wait a long time if you request for side dishes and garnishes
-Not the best pho in Chinatown
-The chilli oil/paste is definitely sub par, they do not have satay-like chilli oil here
