A day after President Donald Trump suffered his first legislative loss with the scrapping of the American Health Care Act, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner joined POTUS for dinner at BLT Prime, the restaurant nestled within the family’s D.C. hotel. We recently had dinner at BLT and it was a great experience. We had the opportunity to tryout both the bar and restaurant. At the bar the drinks were well made. I especially enjoyed the BLT Old Fashion. The restaurant had a great environment and the staff and service was first class all the way. Everything came out with a nice presentation and tasted delicious. Somehow we managed to squeeze in dessert and tried the Creme Brûlée, which was the only item to not impress. It wasn’t bad, just wasn’t a wow item. All in though it was a great meal and we really enjoyed our experience. We look forward to coming back on our next trip to DC.

The popovers were delicious with butter, had the hanging bacon appetizer and it was the best bacon I’ve ever had. The perfect hint of maple flavor that wasn’t too over powering, just delicious. Got the Kansas City 36oz cut and it was no lie the most delicious steak I have ever had in my life. The whipped potatoes were great too. Eddie our server was amazing and constantly checked up on us, served us our food, told us his favorite dishes and recommended us things, he actually recommended us the steak we got. The food was expensive but it was worth the price, it was amazing and the service was amazing.

The BLT Prime is in Trump's 5-star hotel. We made reservations so did not have to wait very long. Our chairs were very comfy. We got seated right next to balcony/rail on the second floor. It was a perfect view of bar downstairs and the lobby where a lot of people were gathered. We saw the huge Christmas tree in the middle of the lobby beautifully decorated and the check-in for the hotel. Since we had not been to the restaurant before, we actually got a free appetizer, chef's complements, it was a chicken liver mousse on brioche toasted bread. The cheese popovers with butter and sea salt - perfect flavor, crispy on outside, warm and soft on inside came free with the meal. We ordered the clothesline candied bacon - lemon , crispy , perfectly cooked. It is very neat because they take a torch to it. Order it! We ordered the gnocchi and just thought it was okay. The whipped potatoes were good but about on scale with other potatoes we have had. I ordered the filet mignon 10 oz - it was seasoned well, a bit tougher than expected, some parts a little overcooked. My husband ordered the salmon and enjoyed it but he has had better for cheaper. We got the chocolate souffle cake and creme brulee for dessert and those were good! They actually brought us a apple tart at first but it wasn't what we ordered so we got this extra dessert for free which was not bad. The service here is exceptional. I loved the atmosphere. I would go back but order a different protein. I really loved the popovers and the bacon. Those were my favorites of the night.

Had the clothesline bacon (very fun novelty, definitely try), the ribeye steak (good but we requested medium rare and it came medium), with a Caesar salad as the side (very good). The setting adds a lot to the experience. It's on the second floor open air terrace of the inside courtyard of a beautiful old building that's been converted into a hotel. The staff was also very friendly.

Going into this restaurant I understood it was going to be a big treat and expensive. Thank to my boyfriend he took me as an early Mother's day gift! We started with drinks, our waiter was constantly making sure those were taken care of and no drink ever hit even close to 50%. Then we got the complimentary bread, I had never had bread like that but it was delicious! The chef also included a complimentary taster which was fish and fish roe, I was reluctant since I don't usually enjoy roe but this taster was amazing! When it came to appetizers we got a jumbo shrimp cocktail and lobster cobb salad, once again it was spectacular. Our waiter had mentioned that their special was the surf and tuff so that is what we both ordered. The lobster was divine and the steak was perfectly cooked. When it came to our sides, the broccoli was delicious as were the potatoes. Now for me, and this is just for me, I did add a little salt to my potatoes because that is what I prefer, but they were splendid otherwise! Now desert, cheesecake lollipop tree. This was a last minute choice because when we read it we needed to figure our what it was. The cheesecake itself was mouth watering and so smooth. Every pop was fantastic. When it came to the bubblegum creme, although it was a very odd mix, it somehow worked! Below are my pictures so please enjoy! If you're looking for a great place to give someone a treat or celebrate without a budget, this is definitely the place to go. But if you do have a budget, I'd take a look at their menu before deciding to take anyone here. I believe it can be found on their website. On a 1 to 5 rate, I'd say this is probably a 4.5 as far as being pretty expensive. (But worth it!)

The staff is wonderful, professional and kind. Truly considerate and caring. From the front door to the bus boys. The valet took care of my 95-year-old grandparents like they were his own family. He helped them in and out with incredible care. The food was not spectacular. The 8 steaks were not hot. Served on cold plates with a long uncovered trip from the grill to the table. I'm not a steak snob but these weren't great. The great service made up for the okay food. We all loved the place and the whole experience. The location is great. The views from the table and atmosphere is fun and comfortable. The food was a letdown. ☹ And for the cost I guess you're just paying for the ambiance and nice staff. VERY Expensive. If you want a good steak, go elsewhere.

The hotel atrium is breathtaking and makes for a wonderful night out. BLT Prime continues the moment with great service and a menu to savour! Pictured is the lobster salad 😃, the candied bacon and my steak (all were great). Not pictured is the banana pudding which is five stars.... Take a moment to enjoy and you won't be sorry you did.

Set inside the Trump hotel, this restaurant is beautifully decorated and its seats on the second floor have a beautiful view of the hotel, setting the vibe. The service was impeccable. The food was fantastic. We really enjoyed our seafood cocktail and candied bacon appetizers. The sommelier picked the perfect bottle, the popovers were to die for (they even give you the recipe) and the creme brulee was some of the best I've ever had. It was the perfect splurge. The only complaint would be that our leftovers were taken to be boxed and never got them back, but it doesn't take away from the amazing experience. Thank you!
