Blu Jam Café - Review - Hollywood - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Blu Jam - with three locations in the Valley and another in Hollywood - is crazy on weekends, but becomes a low-key neighborhood spot during the week. You’re here for the all-day breakfast, which happens to include a “Healthy & Fitness” section for all your post-Crossfit protein needs. Don’t worry, there are plenty of benedict options too." - Jess Basser Sanders

Where To Brunch In That Neighborhood You Think Is West Hollywood, But Actually Isn’t West Hollywood

"Here’s the unavoidable truth about Blu Jam: It’s crowded. Really, really crowded. They also don’t take reservations. But that doesn’t change the other truth: this small cafe on Melrose is still doing brunch better than most restaurants in the area. You’re here for their crunchy French toast, the brioche churros, and any of the benedicts. And for your constantly dieting friend, they have a large healthy section that isn’t bad either. They open at 8am everyday, so if you’re looking for an insider tip on how to beat the crowds, get out of bed and go early." - jess basser sanders, amy clark, brant cox

The Kind-Of-Healthy Brunch Guide - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"You might think of Blu Jam as that place you go for extreme-hangover pancakes on a Sunday morning, but they also have an entire section of their brunch menu titled “Healthy & Fitness.” This Valley staple (with another location in Hollywood) is clearly happy to diversify. Go simple with granola, or channel your inner Crossfit addict with the giant Power House of scrambled egg whites, spinach, tomatoes, and chicken breasts." - Jess Basser Sanders, Brett Keating

Super yummy food! Not cheap but not pricey. Fun trendy vibes, my eggs benedict were fireeeee. Side salad was delish. It’s an order at counter type of place.

It's always a pleasure to stop by the Bleu Jam Café. I came from Paris just to eat their French toast and the staff is super friendly.

Google
I love this place. I always get delicious and fresh food and excellent coffee. The staff is always helpful and smiling. The ordering system is easy and fast. I like every dish they offer.

One of the best breakfast restaurants we ever visited, sorry didn't take pictures of the food. I would come back to California again to eat in it.

Google
I don't understand the negative reviews because this place offers a fantastic brunch. The QR code ordering system is user-friendly, and the service was top-notch. My only suggestion is that it can feel a bit cramped inside, but I understand that it can be challenging to keep a large space cool in LA. Overall, I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking to start a great Sunday fun day!

Google
5 stars is an understatement! I am being very honest about it and I have to admit that this is the best burger place I have ever been to. I added a sunny side up to my “brunch burger” and the result was out of this world. The California omelette was equally good. The iced lattes were also tasty. This is a must visit brunch spot in LA. I am sure their desserts and pancakes were equally good, but we didn’t have it in us to eat further after the entrees!

We showed up from out of town for brunch. We asked the waiter if he had any suggestions for what to see in LA. He spent five minutes with us coming up with suggestions. Sometimes after he left, another member of the wait staff came out and said she heard we were from out of town and offered suggestions. Then later the waiter came back out with some ideas he hadn't thought of earlier. Then the GM came out to check on us and chat. Incredibly friendly service, which was a nice reflection on the restaurant and on LA itself. And the food was quite good - the French toast in particular. All in all, a very nice experience.

Google
Blu Jam Cafe is a breakfast, brunch, and lunch restaurant that serves various American and European-style foods. The place has a casual and modern dining area. It's comfortable as well. Once you see the menu and pictures through their digital menu, you'll need some time to decide what to order because there are many appetizing choices! 🤤 And finally, let's see what we tried! Steak Hash The breakfast menu that we had for our late breakfast plus brunch. It was still suitable though 😅 A plate of plentiful choped grilled beef tenderloin, potatoes with spinach, onions, gorgonzola, mushrooms, poached egg, herb-hollandaise along with the toast, butter, and the sweet black sauce. This was so good! The chopped beef and potatoes were chopped and shaped neatly. Well done and recommended! Churros Let's have a sweet bites This churro is thick with some crunchy parts. Tastes good as well! For the drink, they served us the refreshing infused water the the mint leaves in it. I had the pure and fresh apple juice along with the nice hot Americano. No wonder that Blu Jam is famous in LA. A recommended breakfast, brunch, or lunch place!

Yelp
Blu Jam Café has been one of my go-to brunch places for years. They have a bunch of creative and tasty options, key among them is the Crunch French Toast, which comes with this delicious vanilla bean sauce (which is a sauce made from vanilla beans, not one that mixes vanilla and beans). I suggest ordering this with a couple eggs. Though it's not the only good thing on the menu. I also like their Chilaquiles and the Breakfast Pasta. Also, their coffee drinks are really good, especially their iced lattes. As for the place itself, it's clean, has nice high ceilings, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. Though it still manages to get crowded on the weekends. The staff is also nice, and the food comes out in a reasonable amount of time. It's also easy to park, relatively speaking (it is Melrose, after all) My only complaint, and it doesn't keep me from going, is that I prefer how it used to work pre-pandemic. Back then, you'd get seated, a waiter would take your oder, etc. Now, you either have to use an app while sitting at a table, or you have to order at the counter and then sit down. Maybe I'm just an old fool, but I prefer the old school. But like I said, I've never balked at going there because I prefer to waited on hand and foot like a jerk. That Crunch French Toast is too good.

Yelp
This was our first time visiting Blu Jam Cafe. The owner-chef was in the restaurant and was incredibly friendly. In terms of service, be ready to order through a QR code menu or the front register, which does ask for a tip at time of order. You can leave a tip at the register after the fact, too. The service was very fast, and always helpful. The food was very filling. The chef/owner said they cook everything fresh. The food was high quality, especially for the price! The bathrooms were clean, and appropriately stocked. There are also pieces of art for sale throughout the restaurant - which was a nice addition.

Yelp
Not my jam. That is an interesting place. You come in to a "please wait to be seated" sign. You're taking to a table and told to scan the QR code to see the menu and order. Or you can look at a regular menu and go back up front to order. We were brought a room temperature bottle of water with lemon and herbs in it. No thank you. Just ice water. We asked for plain ice water. At the end of ordering, you'll be asked to tip. I find giving a tip interesting since I did all of the work and all staff did was tell us we could pick a table "over there" before explaining that we'll be doing everything. Coffee is 8 or 9 dollars for the French press thing. I don't mind that but when a restaurant has cafe in their name I expected a good old fashioned cup of coffee. Eventually the mocha we ordered came and it seemed room temperature too. Asked again for regular ice water. Got another room temperature bottle. Said no. Just regular ice water. With ice and no lemon or weeds/herbs in it. A few minutes later another bottle arrived with nothing in it. The food came. Asked for ice water again (and gave up after that) My son said his French toast was soggy inside. I didn't believe him because reviews were good on that. I tried it and yep. Icky soggy. My wife's crêpes were hot and good. My eggs Benedict was ok. It was warm instead of hot and there was not much hollandaise sauce, so it was kind of dry. On the good side and the reason for the 2 stars, the decor was pretty cool and the staff were nice. I'm a never say never guy but I will say that I'll resist going back for a while.

Yelp
Blue Jam was cool! Lots of items to choose from on the menu. When we arrived, we were told to sit anywhere given water once we sat. Our waiter informed us to order at the counter when we were ready and we did. The breakfast scrambles were good but could have used a little more seasoning. My crew really enjoyed the French toast. As we sat, we happened to get complimentary strawberry crepes, which were delicious and great way to make your customers smile. This restaurant definitely gives you a lot of food and we were all full and happy. The ambiance is a chill vibe with no frills, so if you like breakfast and a chill spot with delicious coffee and tea, this is the spot for you.

Yelp
OMG ! The breakfast sandwich is a must! Chipotle aioli, bacon, lettuce, cheese, and avocado? Whewwww!!! It was also served with a side of potatoes. Everything was seasoned well and served pretty hot for a to go order! Highly recommend this sandwich if you're in the area! Even if you're not, UBER EATS the meal! 5/5

Yelp
Blu Jam Café is the perfect place for a ladies brunch, a catch up meeting, a casual yet delicious café where it feels safe and down to earth and you are surrounded by lovely people! I went to Blu Jam for a meeting with my girls and loved every bit of this experience. I'd been to the one in Studio City but it's always packed so there's usually a wait. I guess people around Melrose don't wake up as early so we had a fabulous table and the always great service at our disposal. We ordered the best things on the menu and omg, they did not disappoint. The soup was spectacular and my eggs. We're cooked to perfection. It was a lot of food so we ended up with doggie bags to enjoy later. Loved being there enjoying such great tasting brunch. Yum! We will definitively be back soon!

Yelp
First I'd like to say I wish yelp gave you the option to give half stars because I would give them 3.5 not 3. The highlights first, the chilaquiles are so good, the chicken tinga flavor was delicious and I loved the serving size. I will say it's very wet so the chips were a little too soggy for liking but I got a side of chips and it was great. My wife ordered the Benedict's and she said they good! The French toast was okay in my opinion. Service is non-existent because you order from the QR code. And outside of the person who dropped by to give you water, drop drinks, and food absolutely no one came by to ask about our experience. I hated this personally! The restaurant interior is cute.

Yelp
Great breakfast and Brunch Spot with so many options. A lot of options for vegans and vegetarians as well as a lot of Mexican inspired unique breakfast dishes. Staff was super friendly and helpful. You do not get a waiter everything is either ordered at the front when you walk in or at your table online through a QR code. Food is cooked with a lot of butter. I got the blt and the bread was coated in butter as well as the side potatoes were great but very buttery. I would order the BLT again no buttered bread. The rest aunt was great lots of area to sit indoor and outdoor. We went on a Saturday at 10am and did not need to make a reservation and lots of street parking options. I also got the iced pumpkin spice latte which was great but very milk heavy and the ginger shot was Absolutely amazing! I would have one every morning if I could.
google avatar

Yelp
Not sure how I feel about this. The food is decent. It's consistent. Definitely not as great as it used to be. The whole process has changed now your seated you order from your table via their app or website or you walk up to the counter and order there. They have turned completely cashless, which I absolutely hate but they will take cash for tips lol Ambiance is pretty basic. They've definitely lost the magic touch.
google avatar

Raffi G.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews, but need to give credit where it's due. Allison was amazing. From the moment we sat down, she came and introduced herself with her inviting energy. All her recommendations were on point. Elvin our waiter recommended jalapeños on the chilaquiles and I'm never having it any other way. I will be back and thank you for the great experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Great breakfast food. My partner and I tried the burgundy omelet and steak hash and both were delicious. Some notes: they use a waitlist feature so you can better plan your visit during busy times. Ordering is fully online. There's a strange message that says not to ask for syrup, which is odd at a breakfast place. Easy parking.
google avatar

Bree H.

Yelp
Very cool little spot on Melrose. They definitely have an edgy menu. I had the burgundy omelette. It was decently flavored. I appreciated the tea selection. They have a lot of great menu options that I'd definitely try. The service was a little rude. That is why I gave 3 stars.

Yelp
Hola. Here's the scoop you guys! Blu Jam Café has been one of my favorite spots since I moved to LA from Dallas, TX. It's a must-try place that I always recommend to visitors! Reservations are highly recommended to avoid long waits. You order food through your phone, so make sure your cellular device is charged. I love the convenience of this method because I don't like being pressured when I can't make a decision fast. I recommend the Churro French Toast, which is absolutely delicious, and the Mocha Latte, which is perfectly balanced and always hits the spot. Food & Drink pictured I got the Mocha Latte I got the kids breakfast and the Churros French toast Blu Jam Café is great for small, medium, and somewhat large groups. They offer indoor and outdoor seating options. I love that they have bushes around the outdoor seating area, providing privacy from people walking by. The staff who deliver food to the table are always friendly. The host, however, can be hit or miss; sometimes they are welcoming, other times not as much. Overall, Blu Jam Café remains a top choice for a delightful breakfast or brunch in LA!

Yelp
Still great 13+ years later! We hadn't dined at Blue Jam in several years but we just went back yesterday and it was just as good as we remembered! We tried the lemon crepes (amazing) and had the burgundy omelet and crunchy French toast (which were two of our old favorites). Service was great and we also got a chance to meet the owner, who was a great guy to talk to. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
We're visiting from the bay area and decided to check out this place as our first stop. It did not disappoint me and my family. We enjoyed our breakfast. Will definitely recommend this place.

Loved this restaurant. Such a cool vibe, and the food was delicious! Eggs Benny was yummy and the lemon crepe also yummy! I shall return.

Yelp
Food and service was amazing on a recent Sunday mid morning. NO wait which was terrific. Very casual "seat yourself", order at the counter type of situation, table was ready and waiting for our party of four. You may utilize a QR code to see menu. My Gen X brain prefers a paper menu, very glad for this accommodation. They have specials on the board which I didn't see until after we ordered. It would have been helpful for the person who greeted us to also mention that. We ordered a range of dishes. I was identifying as vegan this day, so I opted for the vegan tostada. My mates' meals included: eggs florentine/benedict, a classic omelet and shashuka. We ordered their signature crunchy french toast to share. We also ordered a ginger-orange juice and a ginger shot. Meals came quickly and were beautifully plated. Kudos to the kitchen! I was completely satisfied with my choice. The tiny diced potatoes, perfectly ripened avocado, all on a crispy tofu bed drizzled with a creamy sauce. This was a huge portion too! It was very good- fresh and light yet substantial. I admit I stole my mate's green salsa to use. Large portion, I even took leftovers home! Everyone was delighted with their meals. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely keep this place in my "when in L.A" rotation. Prices were very fair. I did withold a star because there was no wait service to speak of, and a couple of times we wanted to ask for more salsa, or ask about something, and weren't able to flag anyone down. Also not knowing there were specials, that kind of thing, would have been solved had someone officially waited on us. Maybe this is their business model- like a half- walk-up cafe type of deal, its a bit confusing. Anyway, I did leave a tip because the bussing staff did a wonderful job - so kind and professional. Also I do not think we were able to use the Yelp Check-in for the ginger shot. No biggie, but still. I recommend Blu Jam.

Yelp
I used to love this place back in the day. Went back hoping to find the same experience and it was awful. The food was terrible, had the worst michelada i have ever had and the ambience was so sad. Had to forever say goodbye to this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Blu Jam is definitely a socal staple! I love their crunchy French toast and it's quite absolutely one of the best things on their menu. Their unique vanilla flavor is delicious and I keep coming back every time for it. I've had many other things on their menu, all equally delicious but this is the one I come back to every time. The service is also great (at any location you go to) and everyone I've come into contact with is always so kind and cheerful despite the long queues and arrays of personalities that enter their restaurant.
google avatar

Jenny K.

Yelp
I love this place so much. Love the food, and I dream about the corn flake french toast and the vanilla dipping sauce. I really appreciate how casual it is and easy it is to directly order and pay straight from your phone (if you're into that), it's less time on extra steps/chat, and quicker to getting your food! The portions are great and the water is also always refreshing lol. My favorite is definitely the French toast as prev. mentioned, and the classic eggs Benedict with lox.

Yelp
I had not been to Blu Jam Café in eons and I'm glad I remembered it. A friend and I were searching for a place to meet relatively near the Beverly Center. Of course there are a zillion places over there but that area of town is busy and most places are crowded with long waits, etc. When we met Blu Jam it was like a sea of calm in this otherwise frenetic section of town. We were seated immediately in the nice, spacious inside dining area. They also have some outdoor seating but Melrose is super loud, so it was nicer to sit inside. You scan a QR code for the menu and place your order online, and then a server brings your food, etc. It was nice actually to not have to wait to place the order and not have to wait to pay the check after finishing etc. And then the food was yummy. I ordered the breakfast hash I will say - I'm a vegetarian and a lot of the menu seem like it could easily be made vegetarian but the menu some items said they couldn't really substitute and etc. - so I may ask next time. I love Chilaquiles and I wanted to try them. But this time around I didn't take any chances I just ordered the breakfast hash and it was delicious. And my oatmilk latte was delicious as well. I forgot what my friend ordered but this was her first time going to Blu Jam Café and she quite enjoyed it as well. I look forward to a future visit.

Vidyadhar D.

Yelp
The ambiance is industrial with a mix of wooden paneling, perfect for a brunch. The service was prompt and no issues. We had eggs Benedict, salmon Benedict both were tasty. Perfectly poached eggs. Their rosewater matcha latte is something new, and delicious !
google avatar

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Best French toasts? Possibly. It's been a while since I've been here and I'm still craving their French toast. They taste so uniquely delicious. I wish their portions would be bigger! Everything I ordered tasted really good. Small little joint right in the middle of Melrose Blvd. I hope they expand more eastward. Service was good as well. Try the French toast if you go.

Yelp
I really gotta stop eating before I take photos omg . I'm back guys I was retrying a lifestyle change ( cooking ) that got boring so we are back to eating out LMAO starting with this delightful gem . Blu jam cafe . I've tried this spot once before but it absolutely redeemed itself . I.m gonna focus on one thing today . The French toasssstttt . I just love food with texture . The French toast came with fruit and a crème that wasn't too sweet ( highest compliment ) . The French toast was cushiony ~dense but not overwhelming. Reminded me of a candy I can't conveniently think of . Service was greaaaat fast ~ which is super needed when I'm absolutely Ravished 100/10. Come here get come grub and feel the love ! Until next bite

Yelp
Chilaquiles were soggy and we did not eat! The rest of the food was delicious! The service was okay thank you anyway , nothing amazing to report. It is odd that they are still using QR codes to order and pay! The restaurant was a cool spot.
google avatar

Yelp
I made my first trip back to the Blu Jam cafe since goodness knows when but I'm so glad I did! Ok maybe it was revive old (great) memories of fantastic food and great times with the breakfast crowd or maybe a chance meeting with my friend Kamil to talk soccer! Nonetheless, despite my apparent absence this inspired institution still has its roots firmly embedded @Melrose along with the same attributes -- great food, and great ambiance. Parking can be a challenge during the weekend admittedly but I'm sure you'll find a space in the surrounding streets. Melrose is still an entertaining location despite the media reporting otherwise. People are friendly here and there's plenty of cool things to engage in but first get your breakfast at the famous Blu Jam!! Cheers Kamil, you did a great job!!

Ariana Q.

Yelp
Tried the new Lemon Riccotta pancakes and they were AMAZING. Incredible service on a Tuesday morning -- we even got some delicious free crepes to start with! Ordering can be a little interesting to figure out your first time there, but the staff is so helpful and patient.

Gail O.

Yelp
The host was very gracious and friendly. The food was fantasic! We ordered the avocado toast with boiled egg slices and salad. Very colorful and tasty dish. The lattes were also very good and pretty.
google avatar

Yelp
So it would have been nice to know that there's no official servers. The person seating us prolly should have let us know but aside from that the service was good. The food runners were on it! The restaurant was clean and so were the restrooms:) Parking is meters so be prepared to drive around if you go on a weekend. Now let's get to the food, the chilaquiles were dry (you'll see it in the picture)! Definitely needed more sauce and skip on the black beans. (1 star) The burgundy omelette was good, the sun dried tomatoes with goat cheese was anand the portion was big. The potatoes under the omelette were a bit soggy though. (3 stars) Last but not least we got the caramelized apple crepes, 4 out of 5. Wish they used more cinnamon but I did love that they weren't too sweet. I would go again but try their lunch items and see how they compare.
google avatar

Sofia T.

Yelp
I don't like the seating situation, I hate the ordering situation, and what's up with me having to go get my own takeaway boxes? Coming to a restaurant comes with a set of expectations, one of them being that someone actually talks to you. I won't return.
google avatar

Shelley T.

Yelp
Excellent service, delicious food -BTLA - crispy buttery sourdough bread with yummy bacon and avocado w spicy chipotle
google avatar

Yelp
The food was so good and the portions were huge! I came with my family and we all had leftovers. I ordered the French toast and the fruit was so fresh. The service was very good as well! Great place for brunch! It does get busy, but the service was good for me!

Rudy

Yelp
No one in here takes 45 min for two burgers and eggs to come out ? Terrible terrible. And you tip before you experience is over for what ? What did I top for ? Nothing. Awful

Yelp
It was the morning after the Jonas Brother's Concert at Dodger Stadium, and my wife and I were in desperate need of a solid solid breakfast to kick off our day. We had only eaten once the day before and ended up having to raid our hotel's "mini store" at about 2am after the concert lol. Blu Jam Café did not disappoint at all! The food was extremely good, I am big breakfast guy - as it is my favorite meal. Both my wife and I created our own scrambles (she got egg whites), we both were very impressed by the portions that they give you as you really do get your money's worth. They have about 5 freshly squeezed juices to choose from and she ended up choosing Orange Juice which was so fresh! My dirty Chai was very good as they topped it off with cinnamon that was a great compliment to my scramble. I would definitely be coming back to Blue Jam the next time we are in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
My daughter choose this place after a drop off at LAX on our way to the Grove. So good! The vegan tostada was super unique with crispy tofu on top of potatoes and black beans topped with avocado. A must try. I was not disappointed even though I wish I had ordered an egg with it. It really was not lacking in flavor. The churro French toast was really yummy too. The restaurant doesn't have syrup which I am not sure as to why but food was excellent. The ordering is kind of self serve with QR code menu or you can order at the counter. The servers only come out for water and to bring your dishes to you.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Sunday morning at 10am and no wait! I got the burgundy omelette which has goat cheese and veggies, with a side of potatoes pretty good and big portion size. To drink I got the iced chai which wasn't very flavorful, would probably pass on ordering it again. Ordering is very simple as the hostess seats you at a table and then you use your phone to scan a QR code and order online. Or you can walk up to the register to order. Chill pretty basic cafe, I honestly don't see too much of the hype, but the prices are fair and the food is good. I'd come here again. Parking is street parking only, you can find free parking in the neighborhood right behind the restaurant.

Yelp
Arrived in their anniversary and got prices from 2006. What a treat. East to park nice staff

Yelp
Came in on a Saturday morning at 11am and surprisingly there was no wait. Love that you can either order with a QR code or order at the front after your hostess seats you. Food came out fast and was of good quality to match price point. Service was quick and responsive but note this also has a "DIY" vibe (which I was a fan of): to go boxes, napkins, etc are all at the front for you to grab for yourself. What i would like to see improve: there is only a $8 French press or espresso coffee, no drip and no refills. For a breakfast place I thought this was a bummer. I personally always am torn between a sweet or savory breakfast and there wasn't any "combos" available of a pancake or French toast and an egg dish. You have to commit to ordering a whole main of either (or have someone willing to split and share). Parking is street and metered, or you can find some 2 hour parking in the neighborhoods adjacent if you're lucky.
google avatar

Vann C.

Yelp
My friends and I came here after a morning hike. Food was very good, fresh, and rightly flavored. Portion size was enough for one person but you could share. The place was actually very loud due to the music, but you can still chat with friends if you're sitting close enough with each other, haha. Service was from ordering through a QR code which I didn't mind, and once everyone placed their order and paid via online, a staff will bring the food out to you. Overall, good brunch food and no wait for a Saturday afternoon.

Yelp
After church the family wanted to enjoy some breakfast so we went to Blu Jam Cafe on Melrose and it was absolutely delicious. I got there right before they got busy so the hostess was able to seat us quickly outside in a cozy corner. As a result of checking in on Yelp I received a free ginger shot that packed a punch! Anytime I visit Blu Jam Cafe I have to get the Crunchy French Toast as an appetizer.my fiancé and I ordered the Brunch Burger that had a sunny side egg perfectly placed on top of the beef patty. The bun had a squirt of aioli sauce to give the burger some extra zing. The ordering process was easy and fast and we received our food in a timely manner. We very much enjoyed our breakfast today.

Yelp
There are no servers, yet all the workers were incredibly kind and helpful. The food is delicious and priced like any other brunch spot (so not cheap but not expensive). I feel like this is a spot I'd go to if I was around the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here to be honest. Nothing was super special. You can get delicious food at so many spots nowadays.

Yelp
I ordered on Postmates and got a buy one get one free offer for both the orange juice and the eggwich. I absolutely loved the cayenne ginger shot inside the OJ. It was phenomenal. The eggwhich has a pretty tasty sourdough bread with a buttery taste! I liked the sausage one more than the bacon. The potatoes were good at the time but I had a lot of left over potatoes and they didn't warm up well. It's was good enough that I wouldn't mind eating it again, but it wasn't so special that I feel like I need to keep trying more things from here. Though, I do miss that OJ!

Yelp
I have been to this location before and the service and food have always been great. Ordered the BTLA through their app for pick up on 9/15/24. Asked for the grilled potatoes because they are delicious and the sandwich comes with them. Unfortunately, when I arrived home there were no potatoes (and no mixed greens). I like this place, but they need to do better.

Yelp
Came to Blu Jam Cafe after an early work meeting and this place did not disappoint. It's location off of Melrose so parking was a bit difficult to find. We came an hour after opening so it wasn't too busy. We were seated within 10 minutes of putting our names down. As far as the menu is concerned, there so many good options but we decided on the rancheros, blu jam benedict and of course their signature crunchy French toast. Everything came out quickly, was more than enough food to share and looked immaculately put together! The hollandaise sauce on the blu jam Benedict was perfectly smooth. The grilled potatoes could have been charred a bit more but they well seasoned. The rancheros was good but nothing too special. The star of the show was of course their crunchy French toast! Every single piece was perfectly covered in their batter and maintained the nice crunch from the cornflakes. The set up was pretty sweet so we didn't use too much of the powered vanilla bean sauce. The portion size was generous so we didn't finish but packed the rest to have later. Overall, if you're looking for a good brunch location and love French toast, Blu Jam Cafe is a place you should check out. Do come early or join their waitlist since it does get busy closer to lunch time.
